This thesis uses a hermeneutic text analysis from a queer perspective to analyse Suzanne Collins The hunger games and the religious text Book of Ruth. This has been done to examine if the texts can be used to address the Swedish high school’s values about gender and identity. It was found that Katniss Everdeen has a static male gender and sometimes a parallell female gender. Ruth on the other hand has a dynamic gender that varies along with the gender of the characters that she interacts with. The novel American Psycho was first published in 1991. It recieved harsh criticism and was viewed as a work of heterosexism, misogyny and pointless violence. <p>This essay examines expressions of power and resistance, in relation to gender and sexuality, in Karin Boye´s novel Kallocain. I read the novel´s theme of resistance on a level of sexuality. Because differing sexualities and genderpractises are often hidden within the heteronormative mechanisms of oppression, I focus my reading on the meaning of the room and the eye. This thesis is an intersectional reading of William Faulkner’s novels The Sound and the Fury (1929), As I Lay Dying (1930) and Sanctuary (1931). Sweden has an active and growing culture of feminist comic book artists that use comedy as a mean of disseminating political ideas and critic.
