Lo studio ha ad oggetto l’intrasferibilità delle quote nella s.r.l. L’indagine prende le mosse da un’analisi empirica delle varie clausole di incedibilità esistenti nella prassi. L’eterogeneità delle convenzioni riscontrate pone il problema di verificare quali di esse siano riconducibili alla fattispecie di intrasferibilità legalmente rilevante ex art. 2469, comma 2°, c.c.
La tesi reputa che l’intrasferibilità legalmente rilevante sia soltanto quella assoluta, distinguendo il divieto di trasferimento per atto tra vivi da quello mortis causa. In questo secondo caso, infatti, non ricorre alcuna esigenza di tutela dei soci; bensì dei soli eredi del defunto, ai quali è impedito di far ingresso nella s.r.l., alla stregua di quanto accade nelle società personali. Infine, vengono analizzate l’intrasferibilità ad applicazione differenziata e quella relativa, in quanto non rientranti direttamente nell’ambito di applicazione dell’art. 2469, comma 2°, c.c.The study concerns the non-transferability of the shares in limited liability company. The research analyses at first, from the empirical point of view, the different existing clauses of non-transferability in reality. The heterogeneity of the found conventions places the problem to verify which of them are referable to the legal case of non-transferability ex art. 2469, comma 2°, c.c. The thesis deems that the legal relevant non-transferability is only that absolute, distinguishing the prohibition of transfer inter vivos from that mortis causa. In this second case, in fact, it does not subsist some requirement of associates protection; it needs, instead, to see the heirs reasons, who are prevented to became member of the company, as happens in partnerships. At last, is analyzed the non-transferability to differentiated application and that relative one, as not re-entering directly within application of the art. 2469, comma 2°, c.c.

La tesi si propone in una prima parte di introdurre importanti concetti quali la reale forma della Terra, la definizione di quota ortometrica ed ondulazione geoidica ed i riferimenti rispetto a cui esse si misurano: ciò è necessario per descrivere la quota Helmert, la quota dinamica e la quota normale, ossia i sistemi di quote corrette per gravità attualmente utilizzati.
Nella seconda parte le argomentazioni principali verteranno sui sistemi di riferimento verticali dei paesi europei e sull’importanza di unificare i datums in un’unica soluzione. Si elencheranno i vari tentativi di aggregazione dei sistemi che si sono susseguiti nella storia europea, con approfondimenti sulle loro caratteristiche e parametri statistici.
Nella terza ed ultima parte, si discuterà della realizzazione più moderna di un sistema di riferimento verticale comune ai paesi comunitari, e si indicheranno le sue differenze rispetto ai sistemi precedenti. Si concluderà l’elaborato con un breve accenno sul futuro dei datum verticali europei.

This thesis presents the QUOTE (Qualitative Understanding of Trial Experience) Study. The study explored women's views and experiences of participating in a large multi-centre randomised controlled trial - The Magpie Trial. The Magpie Trial was designed to test the hypothesis that in women with p're-eclampsia treatment with magnesium sulphate reduces the risk of eclampsia, and so improves outcome. Wqmen recruited to the Magpie Trial all had sufficiently severe pre-eclampsia to warrant consideration of magnesium sulphate for seizure prophylaxis. They were therefore being recruited at a time when they were likely to be having intensive monitoring, and there was often concern about their health and that of the baby. At present little is known about the experiences of pregnant women recruited to trials, especially when in potentially' life-threatening situations. Issues regarding the randomisation of pregnant women to trials have been identified as needing special consideration.

The Covid-19 pandemic first entered the international news cycle with mixed levels of concern. How did people across the globe react to first encounters with this virus? For many it was like seeing for the first time the spewing ash of a volcano, or the receding tides of a tsunami. Many reacted with disbelief, not knowing the proper course of action for themselves or for their community. This study explores the topics of discussion and reactions to the pandemic through the lens of quote-tweets--from the initial confusion and disbelief to the eventual politicization, economic closures, and reopening events. Quote-tweets are reactions to other tweets. This makes them idea to study opinions on various topics. If a tweet covers something interesting, often a quote-tweet will follow, displaying a reaction message tacked under the original message. This generates discussion about the topic in the original tweet. We gathered tweets from five of the first months of the pandemic and found several trends. Early on, collected quote-tweets were much more likely to discuss health-related topics such as symptoms, demographic information, or death. Conspiracy theories and disinformation also abounded during this time. Quote-tweet reactions were often short, simple, and expressing disbelief. Quote-tweets made up between 30 and 40 percent of all tweets streamed from twitter using search terms of Coronavirus and Covid-19. Later in our collected data, quote-tweets discussing the economy in relation to Covid-19 began to appear. They also grew more critical and political, often directing criticisms toward local or foreign government officials. Quote-tweet reactions followed suit and more often expressed criticisms and opinions of their own. Both agreement and disagreement increased over time. Although disasters often generate political debate, online discussion about the Covid-19 pandemic shifted dramatically over the course of this study. The trends of topics and opinions that make up these online discussions via quote-tweets and original tweets can inform health and emergency officials on trends to be found in pandemics and disasters to come.

Over the past decade, there has been a tremendous development in e-publishing tools. The Arab world tendency towards electronic publishing has facilitated the prosperity of Arabic e-publishing over the Internet. Likewise, it has enabled the ordinary user to deploy documents, letters, opinions, and ideas with freedom and ease of use. Although freedom of expression should be guaranteed to everyone, it may be used to disseminate false or distorted information. This may lead to the loss of ordinary user's confidence in e-content. However, the user's confidence in e-content will increase if the credibility of the content is emphasized. There are many factors that challenge this task including not only the rapidly growth of Arabic digital publishing, the absent from control over electronic content, and the lack of e-publishing regulations and laws, but also how to develop an efficient framework to confirm the digital content authenticity. Therefore, the need to monitor the credibility of Internet content while maintaining freedom of expression to its users has become an urgent matter of debate. A flexible framework needs to be developed that will overcome these issues and allow for a comprehensible and comfortable content validation environment that would satisfy the end users' desires. This thesis proposes a framework that serves to confirm fundamental text authenticity in Arabic scripts on the Internet. This framework will demonstrate the design and the development of new quotes verification algorithm and the necessary components of framework design, development and implementation based on Service Oriented architecture.

Tramite GT-POWER è stato simulato il comportamento di un motore Wankel per UAV. Dopo avere realizzato il modello del motore aspirato si sono svolte le prime simulazioni e si è individuato il turbocompressore più adatto.
Completato il modello con turbocompressore si sono svolte altre simulazioni individuando la quota di ristabilimento (critical altitude) alle condizioni ISA+0, ISA+25 e ISA-50.
Infine si è calcolata la potenza erogata dal motore sovralimentato alla quota di 10000 metri s.l.m.

This study applied dual processing theory, the theory of working memory, and the theory of cue summation to examine how the video and audio in a television news story interact with or against each other when the story uses pull quote graphics to convey key information to viewers. Using eye-tracking, the study produced visual depictions of exactly what viewers look at on the screen when the words in the reporter's voice track match the text in the pull quote graphic verbatim, when the reporter summarizes the text in the graphic, and when the reporter's voice track ignores the text in the pull quote. The study tested the effect on recall when viewers were presented with these three story conditions—high redundancy, medium redundancy, and low redundancy, respectively. Key findings included the following: first, that stories with low redundancy resulted in lower recall and memory sensitivity scores (a measure of memory strength) than pull quotes that the reporter either summarized or read verbatim on the air. Second, it was found that neither high-redundancy nor medium-redundancy stories were superior or inferior to the other when looking at the effect on recall and memory sensitivity. And finally, in high-, medium-, and low-redundancy conditions, subjects stated that they relied more on the reporter's narration than the pull quote to get information. The study states possible implications for news producers and reporters and suggests future research in the broadcast television news industry.

Il Global Positioning System (GPS) e l’Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) sono due tecniche osservative di grande importanza che utilizzano segnali nel campo delle microonde. Questa tesi intende contribuire a sviluppare una base di confronto tra i risultati derivati da queste due tecniche osservative. Una parte del lavoro riguarda uno studio delle deformazioni del suolo, in particolare, la stima dei movimenti verticali e di quelli che riguardano la componente Est della posizione delle stazioni. Un secondo ambito di ricerca è invece focalizzato alla determinazione del ritardo introdotto, nella propagazione dei segnali GPS e SAR, dal loro passaggio in atmosfera. In particolare, si è studiato l’effetto della componente umida della troposfera.

Idoù ho ánthropos em Jo 19,5 como citação de 1Sm 9,17. A entronização do Rei de Israel. Neste trabalho propõe-se demonstrar que a expressão Eis o homem (idoù ho ánthropos) de Jo 19,5 é uma citação de 1Sm 9,17, idou ho ánthropos, para a Septuaginta, ou hinnê ha is, para o texto Massorético, sendo esse texto de 1Samuel o único lugar em toda a Sagrada Escritura em que a expressão joanina aparece. Em 1Samuel, há um contexto de realeza, quando Yhwh revela ao profeta que Saul é o homem escolhido para ser o primeiro rei de Israel e a apresentação ocorre com a expressão Eis o homem. O contexto régio também perpassa todo o relato do julgamento de Jesus diante de Pilatos, quando Jesus é investigado como rei, coroado e vestido como tal e apresentado como rei aos judeus para ser aclamado. Entretanto, quando se esperaria, em Jo 19,5, que Jesus fosse apresentado com a expressão Eis o vosso rei (íde ho basileús humōn) de Jo 19,14, Pilatos o faz com a fórmula Eis o homem, de tal modo que este idoù ho ánthropos só tem sentido de estar ali porque é uma citação de 1Sm 9,17. Com isso, neste trabalho também se demonstra que o relato da Paixão apresenta Jesus como o Rei de Israel, uma vez que ele foi rejeitado como Rei dos judeus. Enquanto Rei de Israel, Jesus reúne em torno de si o novo Israel de Deus, composto por aqueles que creem em Jesus, pelos que ouvem a sua voz e pelos que acolhem a sua revelação.
Idoù ho ánthropos in Jn 19,5 as a quote from 1Sm 9,17. The enthronement of the new king of Israel. This research wants to assert that the expression Behold the man (idoù ho ánthropos) from Jn 19,5 is a quote of 1Sm 9,17, idoù ho ánthropos to the Septuagint or hinnê ha is to the Hebraic Text, being this text of 1Samuel the only place in the whole of Sacred Scripture in which the johannine expression appears. There is a royal context in 1Samuel, when Yhwh reveals to the prophet that Saul is the chosen one to be the first king of Israel, and the presentation occurs with the expression Behold the man. Regal context also encompasses the whole story of Jesus trial by Pilate, when Jesus is investigated, crowned, dressed and presented to jews as their king to be acclaimed. However, when one would expect, in John 19,5, that Jesus was presented with the words Behold your King (íde ho basileús humon) from Jn19,14, Pilate uses the formula Behold the Man by so that this idoù ho ánthropos only makes sense to be there because it is a quotation from 1Samuel 9,17. Thus, this research also shows that the account of the Passion presents Jesus as the king of Israel, considering that he was rejected as the king of the Jews. As King of Israel, Jesus gathers around himself the new Israel of God, composed of those who believe in Jesus, those who hear his voice and accept his revelation.

The thesis was carried out at Scienta Omicron AB in Uppsala,Sweden and it is provided a basis determining rules for a vacuum chamberconfigurator that will be used by Scienta Omicron AB.Scienta Omicron AB wants to automate its vacuum chamber design to increasecompany productivity and profitability within this product line. This degree projectdescribes a basis for a configurator that will be used by the company later.This degree project begins by interviewing Scienta Omicron's R&D manager and theDesign Team to understand the company's needs and the reasons behind the desireto change the company's current process. After discussion with the company, aproject plan for the thesis is established to ensure that all parts of the thesis areperformed in time with good quality.The report presents briefly the theory of vacuum technology, especially regardingultra-high vacuum that is used by Scienta Omicron and several methods are used toachieve the project. The report ends with recommendations for Scienta Omicronwith the intention of continuously improving the result of this thesis i.e. implementingthe new process.An intensive study of vacuum chambers manufactured by the company is carried outby reviewing the company's email conversation between the design department andcustomers as well as chamber drawings in order to understand the design conceptand its limitations.As a part of the project, a requirement specification of the thesis has beendetermined and concept generating performed, resulting in two concepts," clashmodels" and" matrix". These enable the design and implementation of a vacuumchamber configurator by an external company specializing in customer productconfiguration.The chosen concept is clash models because it facilitates the implementation of theconfigurator later. A third-party company, Animech, which will implement the rulesdetermined in this thesis when constructing the configurator which will be used bySOAB. The configurator will be a tool that replaces the design team and gives themtime resources to develop new solutions and products.

Context Web engineering is a new research field which utilizes engineering principles to produce quality web applications. Web applications have become more complex with the passage of time and it's quite difficult to analyze the web metrics for the estimation due to a wide range of web applications. Correct estimates for web development effort play a very important role in the success of large-scale web development projects. Objectives In this study I investigated size metrics and cost drivers used by web companies for early web cost estimation. I also aim to get validation through industrial interviews and web quote form. This form is designed based on most frequently occurring metrics after analyzing different companies. Secondly, this research aims to revisit previous work done by Mendes (a senior researcher and contributor in this research area) to validate whether early web cost estimation trends are same or changed? The ultimate goal is to help companies in web cost estimation. Methods First research question is answered by conducting an online survey through 212 web companies and finding their web predictor forms (quote forms). All companies included in the survey used Web forms to give quotes on Web development projects based on gathered size and cost measures. The second research question is answered by finding most occurring size metrics from the results of Survey 1. List of size metrics are validated by two methods: (i) Industrial interviews are conducted with 15 web companies to validate results of the first survey (ii) a quote form is designed using validated results from industrial interviews and quote form sent to web companies around the world to seek data on real Web projects. Data gathered from Web projects are analyzed using CBR tool and results are validated with Industrial interview results along with Survey 1. Final results are compared with old research to justify answer of third research question whether size metrics have been changed. All research findings are contributed to Tukutuku research benchmark project. Results “Number of pages/features” and “responsive implementation” are top web size metrics for early Web cost estimation. Conclusions. This research investigated metrics which can be used for early Web cost estimation at the early stage of Web application development. This is the stage where the application is not built yet but just requirements are being collected and an expected cost estimation is being evaluated. List of new metrics variable is concluded which can be added in Tukutuku project.

El texto completo de este trabajo no está disponible en el Repositorio Académico UPC por restricciones de la casa editorial donde ha sido publicado.It has been found that the main causes of insufficient sales of different small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is the low conversion rate of quotes into sales, which entails poor business performance and low economic impact. Therefore, a marketing methodology called inbound marketing is planned, which is modified and adapted to the case study. In contrast, tools such as ABC classification, workflow, and inbound marketing have been used as a structure of the proposed methodology to solve the problem. The implementation of this methodology resulted in an increased efficiency of quote development and an enhanced performance ratio thereof. In conclusion, it is possible to measure the financial impact of the methodology implementation which has been beneficial for the company under study. Business performance in the last month of implementation improved by 10%.

Tema della ricerca di dottorato è l’equity crowdfunding, meccanismo di finanziamento alternativo al tradizionale canale del credito bancario, che coinvolge attraverso portali internet il pubblico dei piccoli investitori. L’istituto dell’equity crowdfunding è stato introdotto nell’ordinamento italiano con il d.l. n. 179/2012, noto Decreto Crescita -bis, inizialmente per favorire il finanziamento delle sole start-up innovative, e poi, con successive riforme, la platea degli emittenti è stata ampliata a tutte le piccole e medie imprese. L’obiettivo del lavoro è stato studiare sia l’impatto delle deroghe alle norme di diritto comune delle società, in particolare alla disciplina delle società a responsabilità limitata, sia analizzare il valore delle regole di autonomia privata, previste dai gestori dei portali di equity crowdfunding per la pubblicazione delle offerte, all’interno del sistema delle fonti. La tesi è stata strutturata in cinque capitoli. La presente tesi di dottorato è stata strutturata in cinque capitoli. Nel primo capitolo, dopo una panoramica sulle fonti di finanziamento extra bancarie per le SMEs, si ripercorre l’evoluzione della regolamentazione italiana dell’equity crowdfunding; il secondo è dedicato sia all’analisi comparata del fenomeno sia alle prospettive comunitarie in jure condendo; il terzo si occupa dell’analisi delle deroghe introdotte al diritto societario comune delle società a responsabilità limitata.; il quarto capitolo è incentrato sulla figura dei gestori dei portali di equity crowdfunding; infine, l’ultimo analizza la natura delle regole di autonomia privata adottate dai portali e la loro collocazione nel sistema delle fonti del diritto.The theme of the doctoral research is the equity crowdfunding, a new financial mechanism alternative to the traditional bank credit channel, which involves the small investors (the crowd) called to subscribe the companies’ shares through internet portals, entitled «The Equity Crowdfunding And The Iusser’s Statute». The institute of equity crowdfunding was introduced into Italian legal system thanks to the d.l. n. 179/2012, initially to encourage the financing of only innovative start-ups and then, due to subsequent reforms, the audience of iussers was exstended to small and medium-sized enterprises. The goal of the work was to study both the impact of the exceptions to the rules of corporate law, with particular focus on the limited liability companies, and to analyze the value of the rules of private autonomy provided by the portal operators, placed as condition of access to the pubblication of the financing offers, within the hierarchy of law. to access funding trough web portals and to analyze the nature of the rules of private authority possibly provided by the portal operators of equity crowdfunding placed as condition of access to the publication of the financing offer, within the hierarchy of law. The thesis has been structerd into five chapters. In the first chapter, after an overview about non-bank financing’s sources for the SMEs, it is reviewed the evolution of the Italian regulation of equity crowdfunding. The second chapter is dedicated both to the comparative analysis of the phenomenon and to the regulatory process in the Community legislation. The third chapter deals with the analysis of the exemptions introduced to the general corporate law of limited liability companies. The fourth chapter focuses on the figure of the managers of the equity crowdfunding portals. The last chapter analyzes the nature of the rules of private autonomy adopted by the portals and their place in the system of sources of law.

Previous issue date: 2013-04-04Nowadays, it is common to see small phrases spread in the media which have been removed from their original context and they gained incalculable proportions of movement, being able to (re)create the most diverse discursive events. The current trend, reveals Krieg-Planque (2011), is the fragmentation of short discourses, due to the speed of the narrativization of the facts. The small phrase is a reality that newspapers, websites, social networks help to build when they publish the "phrases of the week", "the best phrases of the year", etc., and that makes us realize that the work of sobreasseveration and / or aforization is in full steam: never the spoken phrases and that they mark some event were so discussed and disseminated. According Maingueneau (2011b), the recent development of a media configuration that associate print media, television, internet, mobile, etc.., increased to an unprecedented level the detachment and the circulation of aforizations. For the author, some reach the state of the pandemic. Thus, for a short period of time, we see to circulate a sentence with a very high frequency in all media of the moment and that occopy a variety of statutes: newspaper titles, sentence at the bottom of the TV screen, etc.. In this thesis, we take as the object of study four small phrases that erupted on stable discursive fields and that, due to the rapid movement engendered, especially the Internet, became to appear in a various discursive fields. We attend a large file consisting of various discoursive genres (advertising, cartoon, humorous, journalistic comments on the net, etc.) and in which circulates notably four small phrases ―ai, se eu te pego‖, ―menos Luiza que está no Canadá‖, ―cala a boca, Galvão‖ and ―vada a bordo, cazzo‖. To account for this enterprise we adopt the Discourse Analysis of French orientation, especially the recents works of Alice Krieg-Planque (2011) and Dominique Maingueneau (2006a; 2006b; 2007; 2008; 2010; 2011a; 2011b; 2012a), reflections tha seek to understand accurately the production, circulation and transformation of small enunciates of political field. Our back question is to argue that, at presente due to the configuration media existing in our society, smalls phrases focus on various discursive fields.
Na contemporaneidade, é comum vermos circular na mídia pequenas frases as quais foram retiradas de seu contexto original e que ganharam proporções de circulação incalculáveis, sendo capazes de (re)criar os mais diversos acontecimentos discursivos. A tendência atual, revela Krieg-Planque (2011), é de fragmentação de discursos curtos, devido à rapidez da narrativização dos fatos. A pequena frase é uma realidade que os jornais, sites, redes sociais ajudam a construir quando publicam as ―frases da semana‖, ―as melhores frases do ano‖, etc. e que nos faz perceber que o trabalho de sobreasseveração e/ou de aforização está a todo vapor: nunca as frases ditas e que marcam algum acontecimento foram tão discutidas e divulgadas. Segundo Maingueneau (2011b), o desenvolvimento recente de uma configuração midiática que associou mídia impressa, televisão, internet, celular, etc., aumentou para um nível sem precedentes o destacamento e a circulação de aforizações. Para o autor, algumas chegam ao estado de pandemia. Desse modo, por um curto período de tempo, vemos circular uma sentença com uma frequência muito alta em todas as mídias do momento e que ocupou uma variedade de estatutos: títulos de jornais, sentença na parte inferior da tela da TV, etc. Nesta tese, tomamos como objeto de estudo quatro pequenas frases que irromperam em campos discursivos estáveis e que, por conta da rápida circulação engendrada, sobretudo, pela internet, passaram a figurar nos mais variados campos discursivos. Frequentamos um vasto arquivo constituído pelos mais variados gêneros discursivos (publicitário, chárgico, humorístico, jornalísticos, comentários na net, etc) e no qual circula(ra)m destacadamente quatro pequenas frases ―ai, se eu te pego‖, ―menos Luiza que está no Canadá‖, ―cala a boca, Galvão‖ e ―vada a bordo, cazzo‖. Para dar conta deste empreendimento filiamo-nos à Análise de Discurso de orientação francesa, sobretudo aos recentes trabalhos de Alice Krieg-Planque (2011) e de Dominique Maingueneau (2006a; 2006b; 2007; 2008; 2010; 2011a; 2011b; 2012a), reflexões que procuram compreender de forma acurada a produção, a circulação e a transformação de pequenos enunciados no campo político. Nossa questão de fundo é defender que, atualmente por conta da configuração midiática existente na nossa sociedade, as pequenas frases incidem sobre os mais variados campos discursivos.

L'acquisition d'un appartement dans un immeuble en copropriété semble être aujourd'hui une opération banale tant pour les consommateurs que pour les praticiens, chacun semblant considérer que l'objet de l'acquisition se limite à "la propriété" d'un appartement dans un ensemble immobilier.La notion de copropriété en France est définie par l’article 1° de la loi du 10 juillet 1965 qui dispose : « La présente loi régit tout immeuble bâti ou groupe d'immeubles bâtis dont la propriété est répartie, entre plusieurs personnes, par lots comprenant chacun une partie privative et une quote-part de parties communes. ». Le lot de copropriété se présente donc comme un lien de droit à vocation perpétuelle instaurée entre des parties de l’immeuble pour permettre la répartition de sa propriété. Le lot de copropriété est finalement la résultante d’une appropriation individuelle (la partie privative) à l’aide d’un procédé collectif (l’indivision généralisée des parties communes) et entre dans la notion plus large de propriété privée.L'analyse de la nature juridique du lot de copropriété vient cependant démontrer que l'objet de l’acquisition par le candidat acheteur est de nature bien différente. Celle-ci réside en une forme d’appropriation complexe en raison des distinctions qu’elle implique entre les différentes composantes du lot mais aussi en raison de la multiplicité des qualifications juridiques qu’elle conjugue.Les droits attachés à la notion de lot de copropriété semblent être des droits complexes, tantôt droits personnels, tantôt droits réels, combinant pleine propriété, indivision, servitudes, usufruit et nue-propriété, ce que l’on pourrait appeler « la propriété plurielle », une forme de propriété « caméléon » avec des composantes hétérogènes.Le candidat acquéreur n’achète pas un appartement dans un immeuble mais, en réalité, une quote-part indivise dans des choses communes dont il ne connait ni l’étendue ni l’état ainsi que la jouissance exclusive d’un volume dénommé « partie privative » dont l’étendue est à la fois le critère et la conséquence (l’usage exclusif)L’analyse met en exergue une réelle discordance entre ce que les copropriétaires pensent posséder et la complexe réalité juridique de l’étendue de leur propriété et des droits et devoirs qui en découlent. L’étude diachronique des écrits en français de Cioran montre que le dynamisme de cette œuvre a pour source la manière d’écrire. L’univers idéel est statique. La manière de dire est en mouvement. La volonté de s’imposer sur la scène culturelle française pousse « le métèque » à mettre fin à son lyrisme. La frivolité qui consiste à jouer avec les idées en est la conséquence. Elle est à l’antipode de l’écriture philosophique dont la principale raison d’être est l’appréhension de l’essence des choses. Après l’échec des Syllogismes, Cioran s’est rendu compte qu’il a mal misé sur la frivolité des Français. A partir de La Tentation d’exister, il cherche à créer un texte relativement suivi. Un sceptique ne peut endurer cette corvée qu’en recourant à la fiction. La sécheresse des concepts abstraits est adoucie grâce à un langage métaphorique. La narration rompt avec les principaux procédés de l’écriture philosophique comme l’analyse et l’argumentation. Le texte évolue par contiguïté sémantique. Le conflit entre vérité et littérature devient moins intense. Le vieux Cioran, en proie au compte-gouttes de la vieillesse, souffre de ne plus pouvoir se manifester. Recourir à ses expériences quotidiennes ou à des passages lus est une source de matière verbale. Les scènes de la vie quotidienne rafraîchissent la conscience desséchée par la recherche exclusive de l’idée. La citation participe du même travail de concrétisation. La vie quotidienne a une valeur cognitive supérieure à celle du raisonnement philosophique. De même, les écrits des maîtres spirituels, des mystiques et des poètes sont plus pénétrants que les ouvrages philosophiques. Littérature et vérité se sont réconciliéesThe diachronic study of the writings in French of Cioran shows that the dynamism of this work has for manner source to write. It is the antithesis of the philosophical writing whose primary purpose to be the understanding of the essence of things. After the failure of Syllogismes, Cioran realized that he bet badly on the frivolity of the French people. From The Temptation to exist, it seeks to create a relatively tracking text. A skeptic cannot endure this chore than through fiction. The drought of abstract concepts is eased thanks to a metaphorical language. The narrative breaks with the main processes of philosophical writing as deduction, induction, analysis, synthesis and arguing. The text evolves by semantic contiguity. The conflict between truth and literature becomes less intense. The old Cioran, in prey to the dropper of the old age, suffer of more power to appear. To resort to its daily experiences or read passages is a source of verbal matter. The scenes of daily life refresh the dry conscience by exclusive research idea. The quote participates the same search for concrete. The daily life has a cognitive value than the philosophical reasoning. Similarly, the writings of spiritual teachers, mystics, poets and writers are more penetrating than philosophical work. Literature and truth are reconciled

À partir d’un corpus de 492 faits divers criminels relevés dans les quotidiens parisiens entre 1836 et 1881, ce travail s’efforce de montrer comment ce genre de discours journalistique est un lieu de citation d’autres discours, en particulier professionnels. La démarche stylistique adoptée, qui s’appuie sur les outils de l’analyse du discours, souligne la façon dont ces technolectes circulent dans la rubrique des faits divers, et sont souvent moins des citations explicites que des emprunts à des interdiscours volontiers constitués de clichés et de formules toutes prêtes et toutes faites. C’est ainsi le figement du fait divers qu’on met en avant, figement narratif, syntaxique et lexical ; ce figement lui vient parfois directement des discours auxquels il emprunte, et qui comme lui n’hésitent pas à fictionnaliser voire à inventer un événement. La démonstration s’attache à étudier la citation à l’intérieur de l’espace journalistique, afin de mettre en lumière la façon dont les faits-divers s’approprient l’article d’un autre, et à étudier leur position de sur- ou de sous-énonciateur par rapport au texte originel. C’est cette même position du fait-diversi qui est interrogée dans son rapport aux interdiscours médicaux et policiers ; ces derniers sont en effet des sources privilégiées de l’information fait-divers. L’analyse se reporte dans le même temps aux romans du siècle,feuilletons comme œuvres réalistes et naturalistes, avant de se pencher, à la fin de l’étude, sur les rapports du fait divers et de ces ouvrages. Il s’agit alors de montrer comment le fait divers,traversé de diverses voix, est un discours qui circule également dans la littérature de l’époqueThis work focuses on a corpus of 492 crime news items released in Parisian dailies between 1836 and 1881 and aims at showing how this specific journalistic discourse quotesother forms of discourse (particularly professional ones). The stylistic approach chosen, using discourse analysis tools, underlines the way those technolects circulate in crime news items and shows they are not so much explicit quotes as borrowings from interdiscourses often made up of clichés and ready-made, set phrases. This freezing of the crime news item is what stands out here: a narrative, syntactic and lexical freezing, stemming sometimes straight from the discourses from which it borrows. Both the crime news items and the discourses borrowedtend to fictionalize or even invent a drama.The work focuses on the quote within the journalistic space, so as to highlight how the crime news item writers make someone else’s article their own and studies the writers’ posture (as an over or an under-enunciator) regarding the original text. This same posture is also questioned in relation to both medical and police interdiscourses, which are the two privileged sources of information for crime news items. In the same time, the analysis refers to contemporary novels, whether serials or realist and naturalist works, before focusing on their relationships to crime news items. The aim is thus to show how the crime news item is a multiple-voice discourse which also circulates in the literature of that time

In this study, we explore models for optimal bidding in auctions on the bond market using data gathered from the Bloomberg Fixed Income Trading platform and MIFID II reporting. We define models that aim to fulfill two purposes. The first is to hit the best competitor price, such that a dealer can win the trade with the lowest possible margin. This model should also take into account the phenomenon of the Winner's Curse, which states that the winner of a common value auction tends to be the bidder who overestimated the value. We want to avoid this since setting a too aggressive bid could be unprofitable even when the dealer wins. The second aim is to define a model that estimates a quote that allows the dealer to win a certain target ratio of trades. We define three novel models for these purposes that are based on the best competitor prices for each trade, modeled by a Skew Exponential Power distribution. Further, we define a proxy for the Winner's Curse, represented by the distance of the estimated price from a reference price for the trade calculated by Bloomberg which is available when the request for quote (RFQ) arrives. Relevant covariates for the trades are also included in the models to increase the specificity for each trade. The novel models are compared to a linear regression and a random forest regression method using the same covariates. When trying to hit the best competitor price, the regression models have approximately equal performance to the expected price method defined in the study. However, when incorporating the Winner's Curse proxy, our Winner's Curse adjusted models are able to reduce the effect of the Winner's Curse as we define it, which the regression methods cannot. The results of the models for hitting a target ratio show that the actual hit ratio falls within an interval of 5% of the desired target ratio when running the model on the test data. The inclusion of covariates in the models does not impact the results as much as expected, but still provide improvements with respect to some measures. In summary, the novel methods show promise as a first step towards building algorithmic trading for bonds, but more research is needed and should incorporate more of the growing data set of RFQs and MIFID II recorded transaction prices.I denna studie utforskar vi modeller för optimal budgivning för auktioner på obligationsmarknaden med hjälp av data som samlats in från plattformen Bloomberg Fixed Income Trading och MIFID II-rapportering. Vi definierar modeller som ämnar att uppfylla två syften. Det första är att träffa det bästa konkurrentpriset så att en handlare kan vinna auktionen med minsta möjliga marginal. Denna modell bör också ta hänsyn till fenomenet Winner's Curse, som innebär att vinnaren av en så kallad common value auction tenderar att vara den budgivare som överskattat värdet. Vi vill undvika detta eftersom det kan vara olönsamt att skicka ett alltför aggressivt bud även om handlaren vinner. Det andra syftet är att definiera en modell som uppskattar ett pris som gör det möjligt för handlaren att vinna en viss andel av sina obligationsaffärer. Vi definierar tre nya modeller för dessa ändamål som bygger på de bästa konkurrentpriserna för varje transaktion vi har data på. Dessa modelleras av en Skew Exponential Power-fördelning. Vidare definierar vi en variabel som indirekt mäter fenomenet Winner's Curse, representerad av budprisets avstånd från ett referenspris för transaktionen beräknad av Bloomberg som är tillgänglig när en request for quote (RFQ) anländer. Relevanta kovariat för transaktionen implementeras också i modellerna för att öka specificiteten för varje transaktion. De nya modellerna jämförs med en linjärregression och en random forest-regression som använder samma kovariat. När målet är att träffa det bästa konkurrentpriset ger regressionsmodellerna ungefär samma resultat som expected price-modellen som definieras i denna studie. När man däremot integrerar effekten av Winner's Curse med den definierade indirekta variablen kan vår Winner's Curse-justerade modell minska effekten av Winner's Curse, vilket regressionsmetoderna inte kan. Resultaten av modellerna som ämnar vinna en förbestämd andel av transaktionerna visar att den faktiska andelen transaktioner som man vinner faller inom ett intervall på 5% kring den önskade andelen när modellen körs på testdata. Att inkludera kovariat i modellerna påverkar inte resultaten till den grad som uppskattades, men ger mindre förbättringar med avseende på vissa mättal. Sammanfattningsvis visar de nya metoderna potential som ett första steg mot att bygga algoritmisk handel för obligationer, men mer forskning behövs och bör utnyttja mer av den växande datamängden av RFQs och MIFID II-rapporterade transaktionspriser.

Il lavoro presentato in questo elaborato vuole descrivere gli aspetti geodetici e computazionali necessari alla creazione della Rete Geodetica Costiera che si propone essere il riferimento per tutti i rilievi futuri riguardanti il litorale emiliano-romagnolo. In particolare, vengono descritte le differenti fasi operative, di calcolo e verifica, che hanno accompagnato tale realizzazione. I risultati ottenuti analizzando le osservazioni GNSS statiche mediante due distinti codici di calcolo sono stati confrontati al fine di determinare la loro congruenza in funzione delle precisioni prescritte nel progetto. Un ulteriore verifica è stata eseguita confrontando tra loro le posizioni dei vertici generate dai rilievi in tempo reale con quelle statiche. Un aspetto fondamentale di cui si è tenuto conto durante la realizzazione della Rete Geodetica Costiera è la definizione del sistema di riferimento con cui sono restituiti i risultati e i diversi confronti, conforme al DM del 10 Novembre 2011 che ha sancito per l’Italia come sistema di riferimento geodetico nazionale la realizzazione ETRF2000, all'epoca 2008.0. Per ultimo è stato eseguito un aggiornamento delle quote ortometriche dei vertici della Rete Geodetica Costiera. Ciò è stato agevole nel momento in cui una delle reti geodetiche utilizzate per la realizzazione della Rete Geodetica Costiera era quella di subsidenza di Arpae, le cui quote furono determinate all’impianto e poi via via aggiornate utilizzando dapprima misure di livellazione e successivamente modelli di subsidenza ottenuti dall’interferometria SAR. Nel caso invece il vertice fosse appartenente ad un’altra rete oppure di nuova istituzione, si sono eseguite misure di livellazione geometrica dal mezzo di alta precisione tra il vertice stesso ed il caposaldo Arpae più vicino e successivamente aggiornata la quota sul vertice.

The purpose of this thesis is: (i) to produce an in-depth data analysis and computer-based simulations of the market environment to investigate whether financial stability is affected by the presence of High-Frequency investors; (ii) to verify how High-Frequency Trading and financial stability interact with each other under non-linear conditions; (iii) whether non-illicit behaviours can still lead to potentially destabilising effects; (iv) to provide quantitative support to the theses, either from the audit trail data or resulting from simulations. Simulations are provided to test whether High-Frequency Trading: (a) has an impact on market volatility, (b) leads to market splitting into two tiers; (c) takes the lion's share of arbitrage opportunities. Audit trail data is analysed to verify some hypotheses on the dynamics of the Flash Crash. The simulation on the impact of High-Frequency Trading on market volatility confirms that when markets are under stress, High-Frequency Trading may cause volatility to significantly increase. However, as the number of ultra-fast participants increases, this phenomenon tends to disappear and volatility realigns to its standard values. The market tiering simulation suggests that High-Frequency traders have some tendency to deal with each other, and that causes Low-Frequency traders also to deal with other slow traders, albeit at a lesser extent. This is also a kind of market instability. High-Frequency Trading potentially allows a few fast traders to grab all the arbitrage-led profits, so falsifying the Efficient Market Hypothesis. This phenomenon may disappear as more High-Frequency traders enter the competition, leading to declining profits. Yet, the whole matter seems a dispute for abnormal gains only between few sub-second traders. All simulations have been carefully designed to provide robust results: the behaviours simulated have been drawn from existing literature and the simplifying assumptions have been kept to a minimum. This maximises the reliability of the results and minimizes the potential of bias. Finally, from the data analysis, the impact of High-Frequency Trading on the Flash Crash seems significant; other sudden crashes occurred since, and more can be expected over the next future. Overall, it can be concluded that High-Frequency Trading shows some controversial aspects impacting on financial stability. The results are at a certain extent confirmed by the audit trail data analysis, although only indirectly, since the details allowing the match between High-Frequency traders and their behaviour are confidential and not publicly available Nevertheless, the findings about HFT-induced volatility, market segmentation and sub-optimal market efficiency, albeit not definitive, suggest that careful monitoring by regulators and policy-makers might be required.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível SuperiorIn this dissertation, we analyze how the memory domain of Linguistics is resumed and articulated in the discursive constitution, emphasizing the echoes and the signification soundings of the already said registered in the line of discourse. We aim to understand the way how the discursive process is historically determined, besides the way how certain notions of Linguistics, present in the Cours de linguistique générale, are repeated and/or modified as they are resumed in another sociohistorical and ideological conjuncture. From this, we aim the crossing of linguistic knowledge which belong to other conjunctures and return chaining in the discursive formulation as an effect of interdiscourse on itself, that is, by the functioning of the transverse-discourse. For this, we delimitated as temporal snip, the fifties, from XX century, once it was a fruitful moment in studies related to the Portuguese language and in linguistic researches which begin in the academic environment and we mobilized as file search some works by Serafim da Silva Neto: Introdução ao Estudo da Língua Portuguêsa no Brasil (1950); Manual de Filologia Portuguêsa (1952); Introdução ao Estudo da Filologia Portuguêsa (1956); História do Latim Vulgar (1957); Língua, Cultura e Civilização (1960). The corpus of analysis is composed by discursive passages from these works, whose choice criterion was the reference to two essential Saussure s dichotomies: language vs. speech and synchrony vs. diachronic. The mobilized analytical procedure is constituted by the moving among quote, the discursive paraphrase and the transverse-discourse. We begin from Course s quote which allows us to analyze the discursive paraphrase s functioning, that, on the other hand, enables the effect instauration of the transversediscourse in the discursive constitution, since, through the discursive paraphrase; we demonstrate the crossing and the articulation of other knowledge in the discourse horizontality by the repetition/reformulation and/or the signification soundings. This proposed analytical motion gives the basis to our thesis, giving light to the functioning of the transverse-discourse, which concern us, in a particular way, by allowing the reflection about the historical and sense filiations inscribed in the production of linguistic knowledge that we analyzed. Our research is affiliated to the History of Linguistic Ideas linked to the theoretical and methodological apparatus of Discourse Analysis of Pecheuxtian orientation, as both are being carried out in Brazil, in the last times.
Na presente tese, analisamos como o domínio de memória da Linguística é retomado e articulado na constituição discursiva, enfatizando os ecos e as ressonâncias de significação dos já ditos inscritos em determinada produção do conhecimento. Buscamos compreender como o processo discursivo é afetado historicamente, a partir da maneira como os saberes da Linguística, via citação do Cours de linguistique générale, estão atravessados e linearizados no fio do discurso. Com isso, visamos à articulação de saberes da Linguística que pertencem a outra conjuntura sócio-histórica e ideológica e retornam encadeando-se na formulação discursiva enquanto um efeito do interdiscurso sobre si mesmo, ou seja, pelo funcionamento do discurso-transverso. Para tanto, delimitamos como recorte temporal a década de 50, do século XX, em função de ser um momento fecundo em estudos relacionados à língua portuguesa e em pesquisas linguísticas que se iniciam junto ao meio acadêmico, e mobilizamos como arquivo de pesquisa algumas das obras de Serafim da Silva Neto, um autor expressivo da época. As obras que compõe o nosso arquivo são: Introdução ao Estudo da Língua Portuguêsa no Brasil (1950); Manual de Filologia Portuguêsa (1952); Introdução ao Estudo da Filologia Portuguêsa (1956); História do Latim Vulgar (1957); Língua, Cultura e Civilização (1960). Já o corpus de análise é constituído por recortes discursivos dessas obras, cujo critério de escolha foi a referência a duas dicotomias essenciais do postulado saussuriano: língua vs. fala e sincronia vs. diacronia. O procedimento analítico mobilizado constitui-se pelo movimento entre a citação, a paráfrase discursiva e o discurso-transverso. Partimos das citações do Cours, as quais nos permitem analisar o funcionamento da paráfrase discursiva, que, por sua vez, possibilita a instauração do efeito do discurso-transverso na constituição discursiva, visto que, pela paráfrase discursiva, explicitamos o atravessamento e a articulação de saberes outros na horizontalidade do discurso por meio da repetição/reformulação e/ou das ressonâncias de significação. Esse gesto analítico proposto dá a base para nossa tese, colocando em evidência o funcionamento do discurso-transverso, o qual nos interessa de modo particular por possibilitar a reflexão sobre as filiações históricas e de sentidos inscritas na produção do conhecimento linguístico que analisamos. Nossa pesquisa filia-se à História das Ideias Linguísticas vinculada ao aparato teórico-metodológico da Análise de Discurso de orientação pecheuxtiana, tal como ambas vêm se realizando no Brasil, nos últimos tempos.

Article 17 in the Warsaw Convention 1929, the core provision to all liability for passenger injury and death, has been the most litigated Article of the Warsaw Convention. The main reason for this is that the Warsaw Convention, the axis of private international air law, unfortunately did not provide clear definitions regarding "accident" and "bodily injury" in the Article 17. Its amendments, the Hague Protocol 1955 and the Guatemala Protocol 1971, did not succeed in clarifying the meanings. Although the Montreal Conference 1999 witnessed strong debates regarding the amendment of Article 17, the Montreal Convention 1999 did not succeed in changing Article 17. Since the Warsaw System did not provide definitions of "accident" and "bodily injury", each State has interpreted the two terms individually. Inconsistency in interpreting "accident" and "bodily injury" has emerged, since every State has a different jurisprudence. This phenomenon has created confusion in the international air transport community. In order to clear up the confusion, the International Civil Aviation Organization should amend Article 17 to specify and clarify the terms: "accident" and "bodily injury", while balancing the interests of all parties in the international air transport community.

A dissertação elaborada tem como objeto de estudo um tipo de abertura, do ambiente construído, muito conhecida pelo ser humano - a "Janela". A janela é a responsável direta pela possibilidade de um contato com o exterior, seja através do fornecimento de luz natural, de vista ou de ar fresco à um ambiente interno. Por isso, ela exerce grande iniluência sobre este e, portanto, sobre seus usuários. O objetivo do trabalho é o estudo da relação 'homem-janela', através de uma abordagem psicológica. Buscou-se a investigação e obtenção dos atributos que as pessoas conferem à uma janela, à fim de contribuir para os poucos trabalhos existentes sobre este tema. O trabalho é dividido em duas partes: a conceitual e a experimental. A parte conceitual aborda definições da Ergonomia e da Arquitetura, enquanto ciências que regem esta Dissertação; a relação 'homem-ambiente construído'; alguns tipos de aberturas e, por fim, a "janela" - suas definições, sua história, importância, funções e beneficios gerados ao homem. Na parte experimental são apresentados os dois métodos utilizados no estudo: o "Método dos Qualificativos Associados", que foi aplicado junto à uma amostra de 200 pessoas, para a obtenção dos atributos que as pessoas conferem à janela; e o "Método das Constelações de Atributos", utilizado quando da organização em gráficos, dos resultados obtidos. A análise dos resultados demonstrou o desejo das pessoas por ambientes providos de janelas, e que além da importância das funções de iluminação, vista exterior e ventilação, tanto os homens quanto as mulheres, perceberam a janela como um elemento essencial para uma distração mental, uma sensação de liberdade, de vida, de saúde, de felicidade, ou seja, os aspectos funcionais e afetivos foram muito mais citados que os aspectos técnicos, tais como as formas, dimensões e tipos de janelas. Estes dados são importantes porque podem servir de base para auxiliar os projetistas na elaboração de projetos mais adequados ao ser humano. Além disso, os métodos apresentados são de grande valia, pois são simples, rápidos, eficientes e podem ser utilizados para estudos e projetos, tanto de Arquitetura quanto de Ergonomia.

Mais l'etude de ces themes recurrents conduit, dans une deuxieme partie, a l'etude d'une autre recherche, aussi exigeante, et qu'illustre leur reprise constante dans une forme toujours modifiee : celle d'une ecriture, qui revele que l'aspiration mystique du personnage cache l'aspiration esthetique de l'auteur. By comparing all his texts, by putting them, too, in comparison with texts by some of his predecessors or contemporaries, we try to define the writer's process and possibly to bring out his writing principles. Este trabalho consiste no estudo e implementação de um NO-BREAK empregando um Conversor Quase-Ressonante com Comutação na Passagem por Zero da Corrente (Quasi-Resonant Converter Zero-Current Switching - QRC-ZCS) associado a um inversor convencional do tipo 180o em ponte. A contribuição fundamental desta dissertação está no fato de apresentar uma tecnologia recente. Com conceitos totalmente novos (ex: comutação não dissipativa na realização de um equipamento para aplicações industriais. A grande característica desta nova tecnologia reside no fato de operar em altas freqüências sem que o rendimento seja prejudicado, reduzindo assim o peso e volume do equipamento. Neste trabalho é apresentado um estudo analítico do sistema com projeto e validações por simulação. Um protótipo de laboratório foi implementado e os resultados experimentais se mostraram satisfatórios.

Syftet med undersökningen var att klargöra om en rökgaskondensor är en bra investering för Nybro Energi AB. Saxlund Bioenergy AB kontaktades för sammanställning av offert. Med hjälp av parametrar från Nybro Energi AB och offerten från Saxlund Bioenergy AB, gjordes beräkningar för att avgöra om en investering är lönsam. Resultatet av undersökningen visade att en investering av sådant slag som behandlats i detta arbete var intjänad efter mindre än sju år i drift och effekten som är möjlig att utvinna uppgår till 2,8 MW, förutsatt att panneffekten utgjordes av minst 15 MW. Slutsatserna var att investeringen inte var betald efter sju år med underlag av att kostnader som utgjordes av eventuell ombyggnation inte var behandlade i undersökningen, detta innebar dock inte att en investering ärr olönsam då dessa kostnader uppskattades som små i förhållande till den totala besparingen efter att den ekonomiska livslängden på 15 år har löpt ut.The purpose of this investigation was to clarify whether a flue gas condenser was a good investment for Nybro Energi AB. Saxlund Bioenergy AB was contacted for the compilation of quotation. Using parameters from Nybro Energi AB and the quote from Saxlund Bioenergy AB, calculations were made to determine whether an investment was suitable. The results of the study showed that the investment of the kind dealt with in this work was earned after less than seven years of operation, and the output that was possible to recover amounted to 2,8 MW, provided that the boiler output consisted of at least 15 MW. The conclusions were that the investment was not paid after seven years because of the costs consisted of possible reconstructions were not considered in the survey, this does not mean that an investment was unprofitable since these costs were estimated as small relative to the total savings after the economic life of 15 years, has expired.

Previous issue date: 2013-08-17The master's degree dissertation demonstrates disabled person path in search of the rights recognition. It analyzes the law evolution and the international standard. It concerns in analyzing the affirmative actions, especially the legal quote system enlarging the Law nº 8.213/91, beyond to find the relevance of the others instruments for the disabled person in the market work, as an example, the habilitation and the rehabilitation, the apprentice contract, the traineeship. The legal quote system is justified. Finally, to guarantee the efficiency of the disabled person inclusion in the market work measures, it proposes the simultaneous adoption of other public polices that, truly, makes the disabled person social participation able, among them, there are the inclusive education, accessibility measures and polices in tax incentives.
A dissertação de mestrado demonstra a trajetória das pessoas com deficiência na busca do reconhecimento pelos seus direitos. Analisa a evolução do ordenamento jurídico interno juntamente com os diplomas normativos internacionais. Define deficiência, aponta as concepções históricas da deficiência, analisa as causas da exclusão do grupo como forma de opressão, refletida pela discriminação. Preocupa-se em analisar a aplicabilidade das medidas de discriminação positiva, especialmente o sistema de reserva legal de cotas, previsto na Lei nº 8.213/91, além de constatar a relevância de outros instrumentos destinados à inclusão da pessoa com deficiência no mercado de trabalho, como por exemplo, a habilitação e reabilitação, a aprendizagem, o contrato de estágio. Justifica a legitimidade do sistema de reserva legal de cotas. Por fim, para garantir a eficiência das medidas destinadas à inclusão social das pessoas com deficiência no mercado de trabalho, propõe-se a adoção concomitante de outras políticas públicas que, na verdade, viabilizam a participação social das pessoas com deficiência, dentre elas, tem-se a educação inclusiva, medidas de acessibilidade e políticas de incentivos fiscais.

Este trabalho visa fornecer um retrato etnográfico do cotidano de crianças pobres no centro da cidade de Florianópolis, popularmente conhecidos como "meninos e meninas de rua", para uma comparação com retratos fornecidos pela literatura ficcional e jornalística sobre o tema. Também compara seus resultados com os de outras investigações etnográficas feitas no país. A pesquisa de campo realizou-se de abril a agosto de 1991, tendo sido feitas anteriormente várias outras aproximações ao universo do estudo. Através de uma convivência intensa com os sujeitos observados, busca-se uma descrição detalhada de vários aspectos de sua vida na rua, longe da supervisão dos pais, professores e instituições de atendimento. Assim, a sexualidade, o uso de drogas, as relações afetivas, a liderança, as estratégias de sobrevivência, a politização, as relações com a polícia, com instituições de atendimento e com a família, são investigadas como forma de se construir uma "ficção etnográfica".

Esta tese analisa as práticas discursivas e não discursivas que historicamente possibilitaram a construção das noções de ?honra sexual? e ?honra moral? correlacionadas com as formas de violência sexual e moral vigentes na Paraíba, no período entre 1950 e 1970. Ao descrever e problematizar os casos de crimes sexuais, como estupro e defloramento, com base em processos-crime vinculados ao Tribunal de Justiça da Paraíba, Fórum Afonso Campos, em Campina Grande, e Fórum Criminal, em João Pessoa, foi possível perceber como tais noções eram correlatas às práticas sociais, tais como a valorização da virgindade, do casamento e da família, bem como à maneira como médicos, juristas e jornalistas percebiam como o sexo deveria ser praticado dentro da perspectiva da maternidade, emergindo daqueles discursos certos códigos moralizantes que eram impostos às moças da época e que eram pautados por regras de ?decência?, ?pudor? e ?honestidade?. Com base nos Estudos de Gênero e em uma leitura historicamente situada por meio dos movimentos feministas, objetivamos problematizar como o uso dos termos ?honra sexual? e ?honra moral? foram norteadores para a construção das imagens das ?moças honestas? e ?desonestas? em relação àquelas classificadas como ?raparigas emancipadas? e ?virgens sem pudor?, no momento em que os discursos jurídicos e jornalísticos apontavam para a ?ameaça dos costumes? da época frente às mudanças advindas com os ?tempos modernos?, bem como a expansão do mercado de trabalho feminino. A análise atenta para as tramas de paixões e sofrimentos experimentados pelos/as envolvidos/as, problematizando relações de gênero, vetores de raça, cor, condição social e formas de violência sofridas pelas jovens, buscando perceber como eram construídas as defesas dos acusados de crimes sexuais e como se davam as relações de poder entre promotores e advogados de defesa, tendo como pauta de discussão a sexualidade e as formas de comportamento das moças envolvidas em crimes sexuais na Paraíba.
Abstract : This thesis analyses discursive and non-discursive practices that historically made possible the conceptual construction of ?sexual honor? and ?moral honor?, which are correlated with types of sexual and moral violence in Paraíba, at the period from 1950 to 1970. Sexual crimes, such as rape and defloration, were studied based on criminal cases obtained from two law-courts, i.e., ?Tribunal de Justiça da Paraíba (Fórum Afonso Campos - Campina Grande)? and ?Fórum Criminal (João Pessoa)?. It was possible to perceive how the aforementioned concepts were correlated to social practices such as the appreciation of virginity, marriage and family. In addition to this, it was noticed the way doctors, jurists and journalists understand sex as restricted to maternity perspective, which emerged from moral codes imposed to the girls of that time and were guided by rules of ?decency?, ?modesty? and ?honesty?. Based on gender studies as well as feminist movement historical perspectives, the aim was to discuss how the use of the terms ?sexual honor? and ?moral honor? were oriented to build the image of a ?honest girl? in comparison to the ones classified as ?emancipated girls? and ?shameless virgins?. This image building was situated in a historical scenario where the legal and journalistic discourses put focus on the ?threat to traditional customs? against the changes arising from ?modern times?. Criminal case analysis points to passion and suffering stories, experienced by the ones involved, which were marked by gender relations and also by a sort of aspects concerning to race, skin color, social condition and types of violence. This analysis attempts to understand how were performed the defenses for the accused of sexual crimes as well as how prosecutors and defense counsels act in power relationships discussing the sexuality and behavior of the girls involved in sexual crimes in Paraíba.

My dissertation challenges the longstanding dismissal of love in James Joyce's texts by examining the ethical and political implications of his love stories. Primarily using Martin Buber's works (but also including perspectives derived from bell hooks and Julia Kristeva), I define love as an affirmation of otherness and adopt a critical framework that promotes the love of others over the narcissistic devotion to oneself. In so doing, I highlight love as the ultimate challenge to authoritarian systems because the embrace of the other is necessary to transcend the boundaries that alienate individuals from each other and that justify imperialist and racist political structures. I thus offer a love ethic that not only compels meaningful individual interaction, but also establishes a model for effective social and civic participation, encouraging a climate of cooperation that embraces the solidarity and empathy needed for progressive politics. I also argue that analyzing Joyce's works provides a fruitful opportunity to recognize the individual and political viability of this love ethic. Focusing on Dubliners, Stephen Hero, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, Exiles, and Ulysses, I examine the relationships between his characters' pursuits of love and their socio-political struggles, arguing that their love for others directly influences their acceptance of otherness within the colonialist discourses of Joyce's Dublin. For example, James Duffy's refusal of Emily Sinico in "A Painful Case" also rejects her advice to engage in the political cooperation that would promote his socialist ideas. Similarly, Stephen Dedalus's promotion of symbolic romance over real-world attachments focuses his aesthetics on ideal beauty instead of everyday Dublin, which alienates him from his audience and limits the practical success of his art. By contrast, Leopold Bloom's love for his wife Molly reflects a broader empathy for others that encourages social dialogue and counteracts what Joyce called "the old pap of racial hatred," an element in both British imperialism and Irish nationalism. My dissertation's afterword anticipates the amorous potential of Finnegans Wake, reading ALP's concluding soliloquy as a demonstration of her enduring affection for HCE that is reignited through each iteration of the text's cyclical narrative.

A constante heterogênea de transferência de elétrons dos complexos metálicos Fe[(tpen)]2+, Co[(tepen)]2+ e Cu[(tpen)]2+ foram estudadas em eletrodos de platina usando como técnica de investigação a voltametria cíclica e a impedância eletroquímica de AC. As constantes de velocidade foram corrigidas para os efeitos da dupla camada em função dos potenciais de eletrodo, a partir das correspondentes constantes observadas kobs. Os valores das constantes de transferência heterogênea de elétrons (ke) foram então determinados como sendo 21,7 x 10-2 cm.s-1, 7,70 x 10-2 cm.s-1 e 6,0 x 10-2cm.s-1 para os complexos Fe[(tpen)]2+, Co[(tepen)]2+ e Cu[(tpen)]2+ respectivamente. A baixa constante de velocidade para a transferência de elétrons do par redox Cu[(tpen)]2+/1+ pode ter origem na alta barreira de energia induzido pela forte distorção estrutural induzida pelo efeito de Jahn-Teller.
