The Evans syndrome was first identified by Robert Evans in 1951. Primary thrombocytopenic purpura and acquired hemolytic anemia are r e l a t ed by a r a r e autoimmune dis e a s e . Immunologi c a l thrombocytopenia (ITP) and autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) may develop in this illness simultaneously or consecutively, and immunological neutropenia may also follow ITP. About 2–5% of ITP patients and 5–10% of warm autoimmune hemolytic anemia cases have Evans syndrome, which is often identified by exclusion. In this piece, I discuss the recent case of R v Evans, in which the Court of Appeal allowed the defence to adduce evidence regarding the complainants’ sexual history with third parties in the context of a rape trial. Studies on normal and regenerated rat aortic endothelium at 1, 2, 3 and 4 weeks following segmental balloon denudation injury were carried out to evaluate: (1) the permeability to intravenously injected Evans blue (EB) and horseradish peroxidase (HRP) using en face aortic preparations and (2) the volume density of stress fibers by morphometry using thin section electron microscopy. When an organism is dehydrated, neurons in the Organum vasculosum lamina terminalis (OVL T) sense this variation in plasma osmolality (OSM) and excite magnocellular neurosecretory cells (MNCs) in the supraoptic nucleus (SON) via glutamatergic synapses. Increases in LG lead to an attenuation of the adult offspring's HPA response to stress (Liu et aI1997). Abstract:

Previous fatigue crack propagation (FCP) tests on a single heat of 304 stainless steel (304 SS) specimens showed a strong acceleration of rates in high temperature water with 40–60 cc H2/kg H2O at 288°C, with rates up to 20X the air rates. The accelerated rates were observed under fully reversed conditions (R = −1) (Wire and Mills, 2001) and high stress ratios (R = 0.7 and 0.83) (Evans and Wire, 2001). Abstract:

In this work, we investigate the extension of the Lawn and Evans indentation fracture model, developed primarily for microscale contact, to nanoscale contacts. Systematic nanoindentation fracture experiments are performed on Si (100) using a sharp diamond cube corner (radius, r = 32 nm) indenter as a function of load, load cycles, contact dimension, and contact separation. Atomic force microscopy is used to image and measure contact deformation and fracture.
