This paper critically examines the 19th-century case R v. Dudley and Stephens, analyzing its legal and ethical implications within the framework of the necessity defense. It explores how the case set a precedent against justifying murder for survival and compares it with United States v. This article examines how Lord Coleridge's Victorian experiences and Christian mindset played a prominent and persuasive role in the formulation of his judgment in R v Dudley and Stephens. Notwithstanding efforts to act impartially and objectively, we are all beholden, often unconsciously, to the biases and beliefs permeating the society in which we live. Coleridge was no exception, being a composite of influences: family and educational backgrounds, religious beliefs, personal encounters and societal norms. These prejudices sharpen into focus with the benefit of distant hindsight. An associat

Necessity is not a defence to murder. This principle has been repeated ever since R v Dudley and Stephens. Behind the arguments put forward in the debate lie the sanctity of life, the idea that one could not weigh one life against another, the question as to who should be the one to make that decision and that life as such was the highest good. But is that really true? Has English law not subscribed already to the idea that it may be permissible to take a human life in situations that are commonly classified as duress, duress of circumstances or necessity? Methods Data from COAST-V, a phase 3 trial of ixekizumab versus placebo in biologic-naïve radiographic axSpA (r-axSpA) patients, were analysed. Patients treated with ixekizumab every 4 weeks were categorized using ASAS40 response at week 16 (48.1

Abstract:
I have only ever owned one pig. It didn’t have a name, due as it was for the table. Just pu‘aka. But I liked feeding it; nothing from the household was wasted. I planned not to become attached. We were having a feast and a pig was the one essential requirement. The piglet came to us as a small creature with a curly tail. It would not even live an adult life, as the fully-grown local pig is a fatty beast with little meat. Pigs are mostly killed when partly grown, when the meat/fat ratio is at its optimum. The pig was one of the few animals to accompany Polynesians as they made the slow journey

The cerebellar cortex, with its highly organized structure and few neuronal subtypes, offers a well-characterized neural circuitry. Many fundamental insights into the processes of neuronal apoptosis, migration, and differentiation in the mammalian central nervous system h

PRV characteristically travels along chains of synaptically connected neurons and has been used extensively for elucidating neural circuits in the peripheral and central nervous system in vivo. The recombinant virus PRV369 is an attenuated retrograde tracer that encodes G-CaMP2, a fluore
