Abstract:
This work deals with the numerical-optimisation methods employed for assessing the minimum-lap-time of race vehicles. A particular emphasis is given to the simulations based on the solution of an optimal-control problem. First, a detailed review is devoted to the optimal-control theory, including direct and indirect methods, together with explicit and implicit formulations. Three vehicle models are proposed for the implementation in steady-state and dynamic simulations. Virtual prototyping is becoming more and more important and reliable in the automotive field as new tools and software are being developed. This has created the need of virtual drivers and controllers to test virtual vehicles. In this thesis, we propose a maneuver regulation controller able to steer a vehicle to a desired trajectory. In order to design the controller and subsequently validate it, we study at first two vehicle models, a single track and a double track. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is arguably the most researched, publicized, and discussed intractable conflict in history. High inflation economies have ultimately been successful in stabilising their prices using the exchange rate as a nominal anchor. Besides stabilization, these recent examples have shown boom-recession cycles, contrary to what can be expected from (pure) money-based stabilizations. This thesis examines the nature of sexual violence, the trauma experienced by survivors, how report rate for this type of crime can be increased, and how secondary victimisation of survivors can be prevented. Laboratory examination of the attributions made about survivors of sexual violence found that they not only differ from those made about survivors of non-sexual crimes, but also that negative attitudes are strongly related to the gender-role attitudes of the attributor. Empirical research also suggested that providing written information may not be sufficient to alter negative attitudes.
