Abstract:
Table tennis, as one of the most popular sports in China, has grown considerably since its developed in the 19th century in England. The biomechanics of the research methods in many sports has been widely used, for understanding of sports and technology and improve sports played an important role Fast break and curving ball technology is this game’s core technology. In this study, we based on fast break and curving ball features of kinematic to reveal the table tennis forehand techniques. Eight male volunteers were participated in this tests, the speed of the racket during the playing was recorded through Vicon Motion Capture System. The action was divided into three major phases: back swing, attack and follow through. At the end of back swing stage, break and curl technologies, the speed parameter shows some differences. While the peak speed in ball contact frame, the speed of curling ball was significantly higher than the fast break. Further study could be carried out in detailing analysis at sub-stage of the action for integral considering.

Abstract:
Current badminton rackets are typically made out of steel, aluminium, or carbon fibre. Although these materials perform acceptably, there are some downsides to their properties. However, these non-ideal characteristics of badminton rackets may be overcome with the usage of different manufacturing materials, specifically braided composites. An example of a braided material is KevlarⓇ. Kevlar is a heat resistant and high strength synthetic fibre that can be manufactured into braids using a maypole braiding system. These Kevlar braids can then be manipulated to a preferred shape for the curing process. In order to come up with a feasible design to base the prototype, a 3D modelling software (SolidWorksTM) is used. This ensures geometrical viability and possible to manufacture of the prototype. Modeling a badminton racket on Solidworks required the modelling of a racket head, and handle. The head was created using 2 ellipses, one of which acted as a skeleton, or mould for the Kevlar braid, and the other was a hollow ellipse which encompassed the mold and acted as the Kevlar braid. The solid ellipse was created in two halves, each having either an extrusion or a hole in the ends. This allowed them to easily attach to form a full ellipse. Once modeled, the solid ellipse was 3D printed to act as the curing mandrel, an internal skeleton for the Kevlar braids. In order to attach the head to the handle, a three-part connector piece was created and 3D printed. The rod of the racket was not created with an internal skeleton because the flexibility would falter. Instead, the Kevlar braids were slid off the material after curing and attached to the racket heads connector piece. In order to have a balanced weight ratio throughout the racket, the grip was created with an internal 3D printed skeleton. This structure allowed for a feasible, flexible, and strong Kevlar based product.

After the fall of the Berlin Wall in November 1989 and the re-unification of Germany in the following year, the contemporary history of Germany was characterised by a rise in the more potent manifestations of racism, notably an increase in support for extreme right-wing parties and an enormous upsurge in the number of racial attacks which have taken place against minorities of all descriptions. In addition, as a reaction against the racist violence, specifically the attack upon a Turkish home in Solingen in June 1993, there was also a violent response on the part of the Turks.

Abstract:
Abstract The 21st century has seen increasing attacks directed at Muslim places of worship, a social problem that has resulted in a whole array of investigations. This article suggests that the majority of this research on mosque conflicts fails to address the entrenched class dynamics and shifting geography of capitalist accumulation. Consequently, it complements this research by analysing the first mediatised conflict of its kind in Spain, the protest against the construction of a purpose-built mosque in Catalonia, Premià de Mar. The case demonstrates that the opposition was in fact a racist attack against Muslims answering to the economic interests of the local bourgeoisie. The ones acting it out, a section of the local working class, was convinced that this symbol of migrant presence would be a degrading feature that would jeopardise their recent social upward mobility. Hence it is fundamentally an expression of how racist logic is embedded in the spatial logic of capitalism in the 21st century.

Abstract:
The attack on the West Papua student dormitory in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia, on 16 August 2019 by the Islamic Defender Fronts (FPI), Communication Forum for Retired Children of the Indonesian Military/Police (FKPPI) and Pancasila Youth (PP) sharpened Indonesia’s crisis with West Papua. The baldly racist attack then ignited repression, as well as demonstrations from West Papuans in various cities. In such a crisis, Indonesian online media does not provide proportional voices from West Papuan society. That adds to a record of how bad the practice of journalism related to West Papua so far appears to be. This study conducted a quantitative framing analysis, examining the number of reports, use of resource persons and the use of framing of crisis in the news, on six Indonesian online media: okezone.com, detik.com, kompas.com, tribunnews.com, cnnindonesia.com and tirto.id in the period of August 13-31, 2019. From the 2,471 news reports, it can be seen that most of the main news sources used by the media are from the government and the apparatus and police. West Papuan society received only scant coverage compared with the range of news of the attacks on West Papua student dormitories and their effects. The dominant crisis frames that appear in the news are the frame of attribution of responsibility and frame of conflict. The frame of human interest, frame of morality and frame of economic take the bottom three positions.

Abstract:
Data shows that elderly people are more likely to live alone than younger people, meanwhile the percentage of elderly people with disabilities increases significantly with age. These trends and facts bring a number of issues. One of these we would like to solve is that it is difficult and dangerous for them to lift the heavy loads through ladder. Sometimes it is also very dangerous for normal people, not to mention to people with reduced mobility. In order to solve these issues and reduce the possibility of accident, we have come up with a new ladder used for attics that can transport the heavy loads automatically. As transmission part we use a rack and pinion mechanism to achieve a   smooth transport and a ratchet mechanism for stopper to avoid sudden accident drops.  The ladder also can be hidden when not using it.

Abstract:
This chapter addresses program failures. The masculinities supported are premised on a “chivalric” defense of citizens, which only works if “bad men are lurking to attack women.” As societies accept an increasingly paternalistic state, they are expected to extend gratitude for protection; dissent or criticism is marginalized. There is a proliferation of securitization, where areas of ordinary life are reclassified as “security” concerns. Broad methods create unsafe spaces through increased surveillance and the appropriation of other institutions for security measures. Attempts by the state to lessen women’s suffering are utilitarian, aimed at reducing the risk of detainees regressing by placing women as their “wives,” making detainees dependent upon the state to which they owe gratitude. These programs present a “protection racket,” which undermines the rights and security of women and constitutes a demand for deference from citizens in exchange for governance and security. Dissent is delegitimized be evoking security needs.

Abstract:
A content analysis utilizing data from the Wesleyan Media Project and examining nearly 700 negative advertisements airing 500,000 times during the 2014 U.S. Senate elections is the heart of chapter 4. The analyses demonstrate negative advertisements are most pervasive in competitive races, during the last weeks of the campaign, on local news broadcasts, and during early morning programming. In addition, advertising attacking women candidates often employ women narrators, while male narrators are utilized more often in advertisements attacking men. Almost three-quarters of all attack advertisements criticize the candidate’s policy stands, while advertisements focusing on personal matters are less common. The majority of the negative advertisements during the 2014 Senate elections are classified as civil, while almost one-quarter of the advertisements are rated as low in civility. Most negative advertisements examined (90%) were classified as somewhat or very relevant.

Abstract:
Chapter 8 begins with a review of the book’s findings regarding the impact of negative campaigning in U.S. Senate races and assesses the evidence for the tolerance and tactics theory of negativity. The tolerance and tactics theory of negativity helps to resolve several debates in the negative campaigning literature. For example, in light of the book’s findings, it is easier to predict the types of negative advertisements that are more likely to influence people’s evaluations of candidates. Similarly, the theory and evidence advance explanations about when negative messages will enhance turnout and when these messages are more likely to depress turnout. Since the bulk of negative advertisements are sponsored by outside groups, the chapter examines how the increased role of outside money, especially dark money, shapes political campaigns and citizens’ attitudes and actions. The chapter concludes by discussing the role of contemporary campaigns in America.

Abstract:
Chapter 1 scrutinizes the First Lady’s response to her racist and sexist treatment in mainstream media in the 2008 presidential election campaign. Michelle Obama faced many attacks from the McCain-Palin campaign and the conservative media in the 2007–8 election campaign season, including ridicule over her “fist bump” with Barack Obama at a St. Paul, Minnesota campaign rally and the parody of her as a Black Panther on the cover of The New Yorker. But no attack was as brutal and sustained as the one that came after her “pride” comments during a stump speech in early 2008. In this chapter, Joseph analyses Obama’s response: coming out as a postracial, postfeminist glamour goddess on The View. The chapter asks: how did such a strategically ambiguous performance allow Obama to speak back to negative popular media representations without incurring additional racist and sexist wrath? Why did Obama’s reframes, redefinitions, and coded language work so effectively in this particular case?

Abstract:
Aerodynamic design is getting continuously more important for formula student race cars. One very important aerodynamic device of these cars is the front wing. The front wings, as well as the rear wings generate a downforce to improve the stability of the vehicle especially when driving on curves. The front wings are mounted so close to the ground that they are already in ground effect. The rear wings are already too far from the ground and therefore are not in ground effect. Therefore it is very important to design the front wings in such a way as to maximise the ground effect. Therefore these wings have to be mounted at a proper distance from the ground in order to have the maximum ground effect. If the front wings are too close to the ground the ground effect disappears or even the downforce is less than far from the ground. Since the rear wings are out of the ground effect they have not been considered in this investigation. In this work a series of wing designs, with different aspect ratios, at different angles of attack and at different distances from the ground where designed and investigated with computational fluid dynamics using the commercial Navier-Stokes solver STAR CCM+. The downforce lift coefficients of these wings in free flight as well as in ground effect and as the corresponding drag coefficients are presented. The best configurations of aspect ratio and angle of attack as well as the optimum distances from the ground to operate these front wings in ground effect are shown and the results discussed in detail.

Abstract:
Formula Student race cars are getting more competitive and hence enhancements of the car aerodynamics, although the top speeds are not exceeding 140 km/h, are getting more important in order to have a competitive race car. Therefore aerodynamic packages consisting of several aerodynamic devices are being developed. Especially the front and rear inverted airfoils or wings have a major influence on the dynamic behaviour of the car. These wings are designed in order to develop a maximum down force at still acceptable drag. The Reynolds number is about 5×105. However, most of the airfoils and corresponding available airfoil data were developed for Reynolds numbers of the order of 3×106<Re<8×106. The lift coefficient of an airfoil is basically determined by its camber, the distance of the maximum camber from the leading edge, thickness and the shape of the airfoil, as well as by the angle of attack. The NACA 4 digit series of airfoils allows controlling these parameters exactly. Therefore a study was performed analyzing over 500 different NACA 4 digit airfoils configurations systematically by variation of these parameters and studying its impact on the lift and drag coefficients at Reynolds numbers of 5×105. Based on these airfoils the aerodynamic design process is described. Full car CFD simulations with ANSYS CFX of the race car with and without aerodynamic package are shown and compared. Detailed quantitative analysis of the forces on the wings and the whole car are presented without and with the aerodynamic package.

Abstract:
This program, addresses the need for thermal management of increasingly powerful and densely packaged electronic devices. Open-celled foams and lattice structures offer the promise of much improved heat transfer between the coolant and the solid structure of the lattice compared to traditional finned heat exchangers. The focus of this program is to evaluate integration of foam and lattice materials as heat exchanger cores and as electronic racks. The potential benefits of this approach include reduction in the volume and weight of the heat exchanger core and/or device junction temperature as well as direct attach cooling of high power electronics. To begin we have selected two major applications, a liquid cooling system heat exchanger, and avionics rack cooling. There is little data on foam metal heat transfer in the regime we anticipate for aircraft applications. Our approach begins with the measurement of heat transfer characteristics of compressed foam metals under conditions suitable for aircraft applications. Basic heat transfer data is being obtained for heat removal from a heated surface by “foam metal fins” with air flowing through the foam. Effective heat transfer coefficient and airflow resistance have been measured. The test method and apparatus are briefly described. Results of heat transfer measurements to date are presented. A theoretical model of “foam metal fins” has been developed and is applied for scaling foam metal fins within our test matrix. Using the model we determine the heat transfer coefficient between the air and foam ligaments. These heat transfer coefficients are compared with cylinders in cross flow. We applied our measured heat transfer characteristics to the design, fabrication and verification test of a highly efficient heat exchanger core. A laboratory scale thermal performance demonstration core was sized based on our test results. Initial tests of a single air / liquid heat exchanger core leg validates our core sizing. Our results can also be applied to cooling of individual electronic components as well as cold plates for electronics.
