This diploma thesis is about thermomechanics of passenger car tires. The research part dealing with existing tire models is followed by the practical part. The practical part is based on the designs of thermomechanical models. The first model determines a dependence of temperature on the air pressure inside a tire when a temperature changes. The second thermomechanical model captures all the heat fluxes which affect a tire while a vehicle is in motion. The third thermomechanical model calculates temperatures of parts of the tire during driving tests. All models are programmed in MATLAB.

It is focused on the measurement system employed on the MotoGP Wind Tunnel model in order to evaluate the cooling performances at the radiators. As first, an analysis of the current methodology is conducted. Based on the arrangement of hybrid-Kiel probes behind the radiators, it was observed that an improvement in the calibration procedure is required in order to account for inter-probe and support frame interference. In this thesis we model spherically symmetric radiating stars dissipating energy in the form of a radial heat flux. We assume that the spacetime for the interior matter distribution is shear-free. The junction conditions necessary for the matching of the exterior Vaidya solution to an interior radiating line element are obtained. In particular we show that the pressure at the boundary of the star is nonvanishing when the star is radiating (Santos 1985).
