Abstract:

Abstract:
The text is a combination of an original empirical research, theoretical model, professional observations, analysis and conclusions about the influence of the pandemic on the modification of the content of Radio Beograd 2 programmes of the public broadcaster of Serbia. Professional challenges placed before Radio Beograd 2 were even more pronounced as it was necessary to keep the programmes sustainable in a situation where the events usually providing the backbone of the programming concept were almost non-existent. Subject of the research was the scope of crisis management, general and specific, in Radio Beograd 2 during the emergency situation. Purpose of the research was to determine the capacities of an organisation unit of the Serbian public broadcasting company in non-standard circumstances by analysing its key activities - the capacity to remain consistent with the basic principles set for the operation of the company and to define standard procedures undertaken during the pandemic. Results of this research are expected to serve as records of a global phenomena - witnessing to the position of the media and media workers of a public broadcasting company in the pandemic conditions.

Abstract:
A radial radio labeling ℸ of a connected graph G = (V, E) with radius rad(G) is a mapping from V (G) to N ∪ {0} satisfying |ℸ(u) − ℸ(w)|+ d(u, w) ≥ 1 + rad(G), ∀ u, v ∈ V (G). The span of a radial radio labeling ℸ, denoted by rr(ℸ) is the greatest number in the range of ℸ. The minimum span taken over all radial radio labelings ℸ of G is called the radial radio nmber of G and it is denoted by rr(G). In this article, we have investigated the upper bounds for rr(G) of chess board graphs and king’s graph.

Abstract:
The study aimed to test the effect of repeated treatment with a different dose of the fungicide Bentazole Combl 50% SL on the appearance of pesticides resistance in pathogenic fungi Rhizactonia solani and Fusarium solani. Pthogenicity tests showed that both Rhizactonia solani and Fusarium solani are pathogenic on radish seeds with infection rates of 100 and 90%, respectively. In case of R.solani, Bentazole Combl 50% SL affected the fungal radial growth, where the lowest radial growth in the treatment of double dose of Bentazole Combl 50% SL compared to the control (6.72 and 0.00) cm respectively, for the first transfer. While, the lowest radial growth appeared in the treatment of the full dose Bentazole Combl 50% SL compared to the control treatment reaching 1.03 cm and 8.15 cm, respectively, for the second transfer.

As Einstein stated, most fundamental concepts in science, including mathematics, are essentially simple. Students do not have to memorize and us radian measure without understanding the concept. The simple correspondence between the radial angle and the measure of its arc to the measuring of fractional parts of a wheel in terms of the number of spokes furnishes a concrete representation of the concept of radians.

Abstract:
Alternaria brassicae (Berk.) Sacc. is the most common and destructive pathogen of a number of Brassica crops belong to family Brassicaceae. It has been reported from all the continent of the world and causes considerable losses in terms of quality and quantity of crop produce. The present investigation was undertaken in vitro, to know the effect of different nutrient media viz., Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA), V-8 Juice Agar (V8JA), Richard’s Agar (RA), Czapeck’s Dox Agar (CDA) and Corn Meal Agar (CMA) on the growth of A. brassicae isolates collected from the different Brassica host crops i.e. Mustard, Cauliflower, Cabbage and Radish. These isolates were designated on the basis of their hosts as Acae M, Acae Cf, Acae Ca and Acae R, respectively. Radial growth of all isolates was observed after seven days of incubation. The result showed a marked variation in radial growth of A. brassicae isolates. However, maximum growths of all isolates were recorded in V-8 Juice Agar (V8JA) followed by Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) while the minimum growth of pathogen was observed in Corn Meal Agar (CMA).

Abstract:
The paper deals with ecological and physiological properties of four strains of the species Penicillium chrysogenum Thom 1910, taken on the territory of Surgut from soil, water and the surface of synthetic polymers, depending on the source of carbon nutrition and temperature. The author also considers phytotoxic properties of these strains in relation to several test objects. The cultural and morphological characteristics of the strains are similar to each other in places with sucrose, lactose, mannitol, starch and cellulose, and are variable in places with sorbitol and glycerol. The highest average values of the radial growth rate were recorded in places with alcohols sorbitol and glycerine. General cultural and morphological characteristics are typical for strains when cultivated in the same temperature regime; a low temperature of +5C contributes more to the growth of colonies than a high temperature of +37C, the optimal one is +25C; the obtained data confirm that P. chrysogenum belongs to mesophilic (psychrotolerant) species. All strains are toxic to radish seedlings; variably toxic to wheat seedlings, Canada water weed and duckweed and non-toxic to wheat and radish seeds. The obtained results can be used for studying the ecology of P. chrysogenum strains, as well as for identifying this species.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The opening of the Cameroonian audiovisual sector dedicated the overhang of the process of acquisition and the granting of the personal freedoms begun around 1990s. The application decree of April, 2003 confirmed a decade later, the plan engaged by the law 90/052 of December 19th, 1990 relative to the freedom of social communication. Since then, newspapers and broadcasting mix and come up against gravities susceptible to limit their efficiency, as tools and means of communication of nearness. Their youth, the endogenous and exogenous problems in the Cameroonian media landscape justify a study on the existence and the way the organs of social communication produce and broadcast information and news in the direction of the targeted populations. For this subject, the community radio, while trying to imply them and to make them participate in this objective of social communication, promotes by its programs, the own image of the populations for which is intended. It remains only to guarantee the practical methods, the necessary conditions for a transparent participation of the various actors in the management and in the functioning of the radio. Mostly, the populations are ready of supporting the projects of community radios which settle down in villages. The various techniques of appropriation and uses of the media allow dreading from the outside the various stakes which weave. They allow observing the organized practices and the conditions of commitment of the civil society to guarantee, a long life on the radio

Full text
Abstract:
Capturing Believers provides a history of the reception of American conservative evangelical missionary broadcasting from its inception in 1931 through the rise of the commercial era in 1970. The dissertation narrates accounts of two major Protestant stations, HCJB and ELWA, located in Ecuador and Liberia, respectively, as well as the U.S.-based project to build a custom transistor radio for the mission field. Employing a case-study approach, the thesis demonstrates the innovativeness of religious broadcasters who formulated a range of pragmatic responses to the drastic shortage of receiving sets in the southern hemisphere, including the use of social convention and the development of pretuned receiver technology. Missionary stations imported not only radios, but a constellation of American values into host countries through their reception activities. Overall, officials employed creative methods to construct a particular type of listener experience known as radio capture, characterized by regular listening in a domestic setting. By penetrating into the home or village and exposing listeners to proprietary broadcasts on a continual, even daily, basis, missionary receiver programs legitimized American conservative evangelicalism abroad and sowed seeds for a widespread revival of Protestantism in Latin America and Africa after 1970.

Poulain, Sebastien. "Les radios alternatives : l'exemple de Radio Ici et Maintenant." Thesis, Bordeaux 3, 2015. http://www.theses.fr/2015BOR30020/document.

Full text
Abstract:
In this thesis, we wonder how countercultural movement found new places of expression through the increased accessibility of audiovisual, thanks to "free radio" fight. Specifically, we want to know why and how society and the French media have enabled the establishment of an alternative media like Radio Ici et Maintenant (RIM) and how this radio has found a viable business model to spread its ideology. We shall see that the existence and persistence of RIM is due to the combination of two factors: firstly the reduction in the cost of entry into the radio broadcasting through the development and struggle of "free radio" that gave birth to associative radios (with their specific legal and economic model) and also the decrease in the cost of entering the religious market with the development of the French New Age counterculture issue of the American counterculture, itself the result of religious thoughts Western alternatives (related to the esoteric, the mediumship) and Eastern religions (Hinduism and Buddhism). Thus, the specific legal and economic model of associative radios allowed to live and persist "radiolibriste" and New Age ideology within RIM. But add that this model would not have been possible if it had not been worn by volunteer facilitators, invited activists and active listeners which we analyze the sociological profile. The scientific interest of this subject is the fact that it is mainly to study RIM which is an old "free radio". She was one of the most important radio stations in the movement. It is the oldest Parisian private local radio station. Today, it is a community radio (category A). This category corresponds to a large number of radio stations (about 600), but these are little studied. Finally, this is a New Age radio and one of the only French audiovisual media New Age. Crossing history and sociology of religion, media, communication, politics, science, this thesis is based on a constant listening, on numerous interviews and informal discussions on the study of different archives (paper, audio, digital) and numerous ethnographic observations. We give in the first part scientific tools to analyze this phenomenon. We will then see in which historical, radio, economic, social, legal and political context RIM appeared and continues to exist today. Finally, we focus on the proposed radio model and the actors of this radio

Abstract:
A rotor test facility was developed to investigate dynamic stall under optimized boundary conditions compared to conventional hover chambers. It features a defined axial inflow, reduction of ground effect and recirculation of the rotor wake and good optical access to apply non-intrusive measuring techniques. The rotor consists of two blades with an aspect ratio of 6:8 and a tip radius of 0:65m. It was operated at a chord based Reynolds number of 350,000 and a Mach number of 0:21, both at 75% radius. The flow and blade deformation were analyzed by means of unsteady blade pressure transducers, particle image velocimetry and tip deflection measurements covering the whole azimuth and different radii. Three measurement approaches to detect flow separation: tufts, differential infrared thermography and surface pressure analysis showed comparable results and flow separation over one half of the cycle. A radius-dependent separation point in time and an altering of the dynamic stall behavior near the tip were observed. The recirculation area remained close to the blade's surface with radial jet flow increasing towards the tip. A maximum increase of the effective angle of attack of 1:4° was observed due to blade deformation. For a fully attached flow case the laminar-turbulent boundary layer transition differed along the radius and moved over 70% of the blade's chord.

Abstract:
The emergence and evolution of relative whirling motions in the exducer region of an Inward Flow Radial Turbine is discussed. Existing models of relative motion are reviewed and expanded by consideration of the effect of centrifugal forces differences arising from velocity gradients. It is shown that the often observed phenomenon of outlet overturn/underturn is inherent to the use of straight-helix exducers. Explicit mathematical relationships between exit velocities and radius are not available. If, however, such relationships could be considered linear, it is shown that two new reference radii may be identified such that the net outlet properties can be measured or computed at these locations as lump parameters. These radii are different from the often used hydraulic radius. The new models and reference radii are verified using published experimental data.

Abstract:
Abstract This study investigates carpal kinematics during a wrist Radial/Ulnar deviation motion using high speed video data acquisition. A cadaver forearm was stabilized allowing unconstrained excursion of the wrist for passive range of motion. Capitate/radius and 3rd metacarpal/radius angles were calculated to determine which measurement would be best for determining global wrist angle. The average difference in angle between the capitate and third metacarpal was 1.3 ± 1.3 degrees with a maximum difference of 5.0 degrees. Hence, the capitate-third metacarpal joint can be considered ridged. The proximal wrist joint (R/L angle) contributed 15.1 degrees to global wrist radial ulnar deviation and the midcarpal joint (C/L angle) contributed 20.6 degrees to global wrist radial ulnar deviation (43.0% and 55.8%, respectively, of the 36.4° total wrist ROM). Radio-scaphoid angles averaged 16.8 degrees (46.5% of the 36.4° total wrist ROM). The radio-lunate joint and the capito-lunate joint contribute equally to global wrist radial ulnar deviation. This new combination of motion analysis and 3D reconstructions of CT images affords a high speed, dynamic analysis of kinematics. It shows that normal carpal kinematics, during wrist radial/ulnar deviation, does not have an instantaneous screw axis (ISA) fixed in or limited to the capitate. In addition, the ISA data provides evidence that translational motion is a real and measurable component of normal carpal motion. This would change the understanding of carpal kinematics from previous studies, which suggested that the center of rotation was fixed in the capitate.

Abstract:
This paper presents an investigation of the dimension variations on modular magnetorheological (MR) valve with meandering flow path structure. The size variations including the inner and outer radius of the valve at radial path. The first step is conducting FEMM (Finite Element Method Magnetics) to find out the density of magnetic flux on MR valve. The obtained magnetic field density is applied to steady state models to predict pressure drop. To determine the best configuration, pressure drop and operation range are the objective of the selection process. Based on the results, MR valve with 2.75 mm inner radius radial and 9 mm outer radius radial was chosen as the best MR valve design if compared to the other MR valve designs. The results obtained from the MR valve with 2.75 mm inner radius radial and 9 mm outer radius radial are 1.79 Mpa for the pressure drop and 6.68 for the operational range. Abstract:
The k-ε model are performed to investigate numerically the steady, turbulent, incompressible flow and heat transfer converging radially between two stationary disks, which is as a continuously developing flow problem under the internal boundary layer approximations. The effect of relaminarization was considered. This present study has presented a good agreement with the laminar investigation of Murphy et al [1], where no heat transfer was considered. At large values of the dimensionless radii (&amp;gt;&amp;gt; 1) the velocity profile becomes parabolic and invariant and the friction factor approaches the classic value obtained for fully developed flow between infinite plates, 24/Re0, where Re0 is an overall Reynolds number based on the volumetric flow rate and the disk spacing and is independent of radius. At radii less than one a typical external boundary layer evolves close to the wall with an approximately uniform core region, the boundary layer thickness decreases from one-half the disk spacing to values proportional to the local radii as the flow accelerates and the friction factor approaches the constant 2.17/Re0. A local Nusselt number, Nu = 230(r/R)0.650(1 − r/R)−0.386, where r is radial coordinate and R the radius of the disk, was estimated. A large overall Reynolds number was imposed and a relaminarization of the flow was observed. It was suggested that these results can be applicable for laminar and turbulent flow under Re0 = 106.

In ASME 2018 International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition. American Society of Mechanical Engineers, 2018. http://dx.doi.org/10.1115/imece2018-86233.

Abstract:
It is widely recognized that bone mineral content is a main contributor to cortical bone stiffness. Previous works by the authors revealed that stiffness of mid-diaphysis cortical bone increases with increasing radial position from interior to exterior regions. In this work, we correlate this radial cortical stiffness to the chemical composition of several bone rings cut from 2-year old bovine cow femur (collected fresh from butcher). This mineralization is quantified using energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy. On each bone ring, five regions are assigned along a 4 mm radial line covering the entire cortical wall thickness. Locations along the radial distance are assigned to acquire the chemical analysis spectrum. Calcium (Ca) and Phosphorus (P) elements chemical elements are traced/detected. Measured mineralization results are expressed as per weight percent concentration (wt %). These elemental results for Calcium (Ca) and Phosphorus (P) are correlated to radial position and stiffness values using statistical analysis (SPSS®). Calcium (Ca) and Phosphorus (P) elements were positively correlated with stiffness values and radius whilst Ca/P ratio was almost constant with the radius. Findings suggest that with increasing radius, Ca (wt%) and P (wt %) showed a fairly increasing trend that correlates to increasing stiffness values proving that increased bone mineralization would contribute to cortical bone stiffness.

Abstract:
In this paper, FEM is employed to investigate the effects of nose radius and edge radius on the turning of AISI4140. The tool material used is Carbide and Johnson-Cook plastic model is employed to model the workpiece due to its capability of modeling large strains, high strain rates, and temperature dependent visco-plasticity. Different nose radii and edge radii are used to explore the effects of the nose radius and edge radius on the machining temperature, cutting forces, and power. This model provides a fundamental understanding of cutting mechanics of the turning operation of AISI 4140.

Lebedenko, Nataliia. FUNCTIONS OF PAUSES IN A BROADCAST TEXT (CASE OF A RADIO ESSAY “FOR THOSE WHO ARE NOT SLEEPING”). Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, 2024. http://dx.doi.org/10.30970/vjo.2024.54-55.12148.

Abstract:
The article explores the importance of pauses in radio broadcasts, specifically in one of 25 radio essays titled “For Those Who Are Not Sleeping” by Yurii Andrukhovych, which opened the project called “Air passion. Radio essays voiced by modern actors” on Kultura radio. The peculiarities of the radio essay intonation have been chosen as the object of the research. The goal of the article is to identify the functions of pauses in the radio essay voiced by its author. To study pauses in the radio essay, the methods of observation (when listening to the radio essay), analysis (when analyzing the functions of pauses in the spoken text), and description (when outlining the role of pauses in the radio text) were used. The research reveals that pauses in spoken texts, particularly in radio essays, are an essential element that contributes to their structure, logic, and expressiveness. Sometimes, pauses also serve as a specific tool for the author. The study shows that pauses are not just a stop in the spoken flow, but an important element that informs the listener about the meaning of what is spoken. The research also highlights the national features of the Ukrainian language in the “For Those Who Are Not Sleeping” radio essay. The pauses in the essay perform several functions, such as making the text more structured by abstracts, sentences, and semantic centers, providing space for reproduction of internoises, identifying logical stresses and varying the speech rate, attracting listeners’ attention, and encouraging them to reflect and act. Future research should focus on studying pauses in journalistic texts of various genres. This will help expand available knowledge and assist future journalists in developing proper text intonation skills. Key words: pause, radio, radio essay, intonation.

Abstract:
Spontaneous tendon ruptures of the wrist are a rare pathology, usually secondary to rheumatoid arthritis or distal radius fractures and most commonly evolving the extensor pollicis longus. Sport-related etiology is a growing tendency of this pathology. As far as the authors know, this is one of the first sport-related extensor carpi radialis brevis (ECRB) isolated spontaneous rupture described in the literature. We describe a case of a 41 year-old female amateur kickboxer who developed acute dorsal radial pain in the right wrist during practice. After attempting conservative treatment for 4 months with rest and NSAIDs she recurred at our clinic. Local pain at dorsal wrist extension was observed. MRI demonstrated an isolated ECRB rupture with associated fibrous tissue proximal to the extensor retinaculum. Surgical management was proposed and consisted of fibrous tissue debridement and ECRB-ECRL tenodesis. At 3 months of follow-up the patient reported return-to-play with impaired wrist motion and mild pain at maximum wrist extension. At 12 months of follow-up the patient was completely recovered and asymptomatic. Isolated tendon ruptures are a rare pathology, causing extreme pain and disability in the sport setting. Surgical management of this ECRB tendon rupture by tenodesis allowed for appropriate pain control and functional results and early return-to-play.
