W. B. Yeats’s pursuit of an audience led him into the world of mass media—a landscape populated first by newspapers and later by radios, which he learned to navigate with shrewdness and skill. The purpose of this special issue is to examine Yeats’s various ventures in mass communication. Enlisting a broad range of critical approaches, contributors to this volume show how the demands of print journalism and radio broadcasting informed Yeats’s poetics, his thinking about the social vocation of art, and his ideas about how literature might be best received and structured. The essays also examine

The advent of the Internet of Things (IoT) has contributed to an increase in the production volume of RF-featured equipment. According to statistics from the literature, the IoT industry will soon deploy billions of products. While the concept behind these applications seems exciting, this paper sought to assess the effects the radio emissions produced by IoT products would have on the ambient radio noise levels within the unlicensed frequency bands of 433 MHz, 868 MHz, and 2.4 GHz. The study extended to three environments: industrial, urban, and suburban. This study developed an IoT noise gen

Abstract We present results from a search for radio emission in 77 stellar systems hosting 140 exoplanets, predominantly within 17.5 pc using the Very Large Array (VLA) at 4–8 GHz. This is the largest and most sensitive search to date for radio emission in exoplanetary systems in the GHz frequency range. We obtained new observations of 58 systems and analyzed archival observations of an additional 19 systems. Our choice of frequency and volume limit is motivated by radio detections of ultracool dwarfs (UCDs), including T dwarfs with masses at the exoplanet threshold of ∼13 M J. Our surveyed ex
