Full textA major evolution of the third generation systems (3G) compared with those of second generation (2G), is the possibility to offer high and very high rates services. It allows the introduction of the new services and chiefly supports data transmissions. It’s expected that data services will form the biggest part of the traffic in 3G network. These services coexist with the voice service, which is already present in 2G systems. Therefore, schemes witch mixed traffic should be considered. The existence of the different types of traffic will lead then to an increased complexity and make management of the resources radios a real issue. The development of communication systems is limited currently by the constraints on the capacity of these systems. Indeed, the increase of the number of simultaneous access generates interference that deteriorates the quality of end to end the communication. The definition of the capacity of the WCDMA cellular network is bounded by the number of simultaneous calls or the rate of arrival that guarantees a reject probability lower than some given threshold (Erlang capacity ). In this thesis we explicitly calculate the capacity of uplink case the WCDMA systems in presence of two types of traffic. Namely real time calls (RT) and non real time calls (BE). We use two approaches to study the performances of this system to know indeed, we used the spectral analysis method and the singular perturbation method based on the approximation. We then compare the two approaches and validate our results using NS2 simulator. There after we bend a survey of the performances of a heterogeneous system, composed of two different topologies a UMTS subsystem and an Ad-hoc subsystem

Full textWith the success of wireless communications and the integration of multiple network interfaces in a single device, users are expecting network providers to offer ubiquitous connectivity while moving. However, each technology has its own characteristics in terms of network coverage or data rate, thus being able to move from one access network to another or selecting the most effective connection is necessary. After reviewing the capabilities of widely deployed wireless technologies such as IEEE 802. 11, IEEE 802. 16, and Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS), we present the current solutions used to handle node mobility and discuss their limitations in terms of handover latency or support for multihoming. Using the IEEE 802. 21 Media Independent Handover (MIH) as our framework, we focus on three major aspects of mobility: First, we study the impact of link triggers to enhance movement detection and provide guidelines in the trigger generation to ensure celerity and reliability. Then we provide various handover optimizations including a scanning algorithm for IEEE 802. 16 that maintains the applications’ Quality of Service (QoS) requirements and the integration of the link triggers with Mobile IPv6 protocols to reduce handover delays and packet loss. Finally, we look at the efficiency of several transport protocols to exchange information and facilitate handovers, and we propose an optimized solution combining Stream Control Transport Protocol (SCTP) and MIH. To support our research activities, we develop and validate simulation models of the standard protocols in the ns-2 simulator including IEEE 802. 16, IEEE 802. 21, and various flavors of Mobile IPv6 and use them to evaluate our proposed solutions

Full textThe domains of telecommunications and computing were marked these last years by major evolutions, in particular, with Internet and the mobile networks. These evolutions gave rise to the idea of a convergence between the Internet and the mobile networks, with the goal of providing more services and functionalities to the users. To reach this convergence, it was necessary ti think for new protocols and equpements. These elements (protocols, equipments, services. . . ) may be developed by different designers and this may complicate sometimes these elements correct work. Thus , before bringing them into the network, it is important to make them go through several steps of production. Among these steps appears the test step. The test step is provided in order to detect errors in the system, to correct them and to guarantee the correct operation of these elements. In the test phase, the system goes through several stages which we gather under the denomination of methodology of test. This methodology can be different according to the different test types we want to carry out. Moreover, it is important to automate these steps in order to reduce the time and the development cost an, mainly, to increase the reliability of the proposed products. In this thesis, we present two test methodologies for the mobile telecommunications domain : the services conformity test and the interoperability test. These two methodologies cover in an automatic way all the test production steps (from the systemunder test specification to the execution on a real platform)

Full textThe wireless mobile environments become largely used and offer many opportunities which are not always taken into account by the existing wired systems. Their principal aim consists in guaranteeing access to information with regardless to users location. However, when the users move with their machines (mobile terminals), a set of problems appears, which are completely ignored in traditional wired environments. Thus understanding user behaviours has become crucial as a basis for developing and evaluating new applications, such as context-aware applications, and new wireless communication architectures, such as content access and replication. The mobility creates some new requirements on the architecture and on functions of the network. In particular, access points (APN) organisation according to the users density or improving data access in order to avoid servers and links overload. Indeed, the existing contents management systems were conceived for wired environments and adapt very badly to the wireless environments. The aim of our research is to propose mechanisms to improve comprehension of users mobility and its influence on data access in order to optimize the evaluation of the applications and to improve the design of the new mobile systems. We have characterized the behaviours of the mobile users by analyzing real traces via a visualization tool developed especially for these ends. Our study focuses especially on users displacements between APNs. Among our objectives is the improvement of the existing theoretical mobility models by the proposal of new elements of modelling like the frequency of mobility and the structure of users routes. In addition, we propose a solution for adaptive content management which integrates the functionalities to optimize data access in mobile environment, by exploiting the synergy of groups of users present in each zone of the network. A simulation of this global architecture has enabled us to analyze the influence of users mobility on content exchange within the network. The results of this simulation showed that there is a correlation between content mobility in certain areas and the regrouping of users. That can be taken into account in order to optimize the existing systems or thinking about new ones

Full textThe work presented in this thesis deals with a new power amplifier optimization technique applied to the 3rd generation telecommunication system. It demonstrates that the power amplifier must be optimized over a wide output power range, which explains why a new optimization technique is developed : "Power Amplifier with Dynamic Adjust Biasing". This technique gives the HBT power amplifier base biasing circuit a signal which depends on the shape of the signal to be amplified and the output power. The biasing signal can be calculated by the digital part of the handset. Many measurements have been made on the power amplifier to characterize the power amplifier. A Proof-of-Concept was made to validate this optimization technique. Moreover, an integrated circuit has been developed to show that this technique can be integrated on a chip

Full textIn order to have a good autonomy with the mobile, it is necessary to use a high-efficiency power amplifier. Furthermore, the amplifier must be linear to respect the spectral constraints imposed by the telecommunications norms. That is why since several years, techniques to linearize a high efficient power amplifier have been proposed. The purpose of this study is to design a complete power amplifier linearization system destinated to radio-mobile application. This linearization technique is based on adaptive baseband predistortion. The amplifier is represented by Hammerstein model and the proposed adaptive predistortion technique is based on this model. Simulation results show the capacity of the method to linearize power amplifiers. Experimental results confirm the feasibility and the advantages of this new method

Full textThe software radio architectures provide new possibilities in the design of terminals and base stations for the new mobile communication systems. Indeed, these architectures allow realizing multi-mode and multi-standard systems, which can be matched to the user needs and to the availability of the communication channels. The key idea is the digitisation of the received signals, nearly at the antenna after a simple and universal analog front-end. Afterwards, the channel filtering and the demodulation are done using digital techniques. The implementation of these architectures can be difficult or impossible due to the new specifications of the different blocks. For example the radio front-end must have a very wide bandwidth and the analog to digital converters must provide very high sampling frequencies and dynamics. Moreover, the processing requirements are also significantly high. Due to the limitation of the today's technologies, restricted software radio architectures is often proposed. In this case, part of the analogical intermediary frequency process is maintained. It is also necessary to take into account the power, performance, price and size constraints. The present work consists in developing a design tool for the study of software radio architectures. From a block-diagram specification, this tool generates a C simulation program and a VHDL description. The C model allows to verify the system functionalities and to evaluate the system and signal level performances such as the quantification noise and bit error rate. The VHDL model can be used as the entry of a commercial logical synthesis tool targeting an Asic or FPGA. This synthesis phase allows evaluating the material resources needed by the application, the power consumption of the system for a given technology, as well as the maximum working frequency. We have provided a library of digital (filters, multirate operators, ) and analog components (power amplifier, antenna). The tool has been validated using commercial tools for simulation (Matlab, SPW, NC_VHDL) and synthesis (fpga-express, Ambit). Finally, to illustrate the tool capabilities, we focussed on the channel filtering using CIC (Cascaded integrator-comb) filters for GSM and DECT

Full textNEtwork MObility (NEMO) introduces a new communication paradigm that provides sets of mobile hosts moving collectively as a unit with high mobility. The users of these networks may require Quality-of-Service (QoS) guarantees for their real-time multimedia services. To grant this requirement, seamless handover must be provided. Moreover, end-to-end resources should be reserved. In this thesis, we address both of these issues. To reduce the loss of packets and the latency involved in handover, when a mobile network moves from one access router to another, handover delay should be minimized. Our proposition lies in the cooperation of multiple mobile routers which are located in the same mobile network. That is, the traffic of the mobile router which is performing handover is transported by the other mobile router(s) which is (are) not performing handover. The task of resource reservation in NEMO, in this thesis, is split into three sub-tasks. The first is to release obsolete reservations along the old path. These obsolete reservations are caused by the departure of the mobile router. The second is to reserve resource for the next location in advance to avoid service interruption. The service may be interrupted when the mobile router moves to the new location, but resources for this new location are not yet reserved. The third is to aggregate individual per-flow reservations into one reservation

Full textThis manuscript presents the analysis, the synthesis, and the realisation of bulk acoustic wave (BAW) resonator filters. Bulk acoustic wave resonator technology is the only technology that is able to ally excellent filtering performances using a process compatible with silicon integrated circuits. Indeed, this technology enables the conception of very low lossy filters in a wide frequency range (from 500 MHz to 20 GHz) having a power handling capability comparable to ceramic filters. BAW filters present very reduced dimensions and can be fabricated on top of silicon substrates. Firstly, this manuscript presents a detailed study of the bulk acoustic wave technology that shows the multitude of parameters that must be considered on the filter synthesis. Secondly, a synthesis methodology of BAW filters based on a mathematical approach is developed and implemented on a software platform. Finally, in the framework of collaboration between the CEA-Leti and the IXL Microelectronics Laboratory, five bulk acoustic wave resonator filters have been realized. These filters are based on ladder, lattice and ladder-lattice topologies. They addressed the transmission (1. 92 – 1. 98 GHz) and the reception (2. 11 – 2. 17 GHz) of the 3rd generation W CDMA standard. The fabricated filters have confirmed the excellent performances of the BAW-SMR technology concerning these three topologies. The filters show the limitations on selectivity and the insertion losses. The combined ladder-lattice topology presents the best compromise between selectivity and isolation

Two polyphase oscillator architectures were studied and implemented in a BiCMOS SiGe 0. 35 æm process. The first architecture is a ring oscillator based on differential delay cells. The second consists of two cross-coupled differential LC VCOs. Additionally an original method for determining the minimum phase noise level of an LC oscillator for a fixed technology and power consumption was developed. The conclusions reached from this method of phase noise minimization were then widely implemented to optimise the design of the fully monolithic SiGe quadrature LC VCO

Full textSingle Carrier FDMA (SC-FDMA) combining multi-carrier-like multiple access with single-carrier-like envelope fluctuations was chosen for the air interface of future wireless communication systems. This thesis proposes a physical layer design for an uplink system based on SC-FDMA and equipped with multiple transmit antennas. Taking into account the tight implementation constraints at the mobile terminal and the presence of a nonlinear power amplifier, we show the importance of the in-band and out-of-band regulation constraints on the performance of the air interface. In realistic propagation scenarios, SC-FDMA brings significant improvements with respect to its competitors especially for users sensitive to high dynamic variations of the signal envelope. This is typically the case of cell-edge users having limited a priori knowledge of the propagation channel and needing to employ open-loop transmit-diversity techniques to improve their propagation conditions. We propose a new method allowing space-frequency transmit diversity in an SC-FDMA system that keeps both the uplink framing flexibility and the low envelope variations of the signal. This new method designed for two transmit antennas is extended to four or more transmit antennas in the space-frequency or space-time-frequency domains. We also expand these strategies to spatial multiplexing so as to benefit from transmit diversity to increase of the cell and/or user throughput multi-user scenarios and/or in combination with spatial multiplexing techniques. Our analytical and numerical shows the improvements brought by the proposed techniques compared to conventional ones in a vast number of practical scenarios

Full textHosting MVNOs, supporting them from both operational and commercial perspectives are new challenges for the mobile operators: they have to set up a specific internal organization because they used to be a vertically integrated industrial structure. All of this represents tremendous changes for them.
This thesis describes first the strategic models for hosting MVNOs. The regulatory aspects, that are an essential driver for the liberalization of network economies, are then analyzed. The key point is: are the MVNO able to increase the efficiency and competitiveness of mobile markets.
Another important aspect is the modelling of a mobile network: the MVNOs will use some components while other components are unuseful for them. Without such model, it is impossible to derive the right costs and price to be charged to the MVNO in order to have a win win industrial model for both the MVNO and its hosting operator.
A case study of a corporate MVNO focusing on needs of multinationals is analyzed. Such case study describes all the steps for an economic actor to become MVNO from scratch. Such MVNO are not yet present although there is a market demand.
The last chapter makes a comparative study of the MVNO markets in the European Union.

Full textOwing to the emergence of a demand for Cordless outdoor and large indoor services, there have been various attempts to characterise the performances of the standard Digital European Cordless Telephone (DECT) receiver in dispersive channels. Such channels are likely to arise in any Telepoint application, large public areas, microcellular up to 200 m, and are link performance with this standard DECT receiver, which consists in a non-coherent receiver (differential phase detector or limiter-discriminator detector), will not be adequate for such large indoor and outdoor environments and is at best capable of handling delay spreads up to 90 ns. In order to guarantee acceptable link performance in such dispersive channels, we propose a new non-coherent receiver based on a simple one-tap decision feedback equaliser using the correlation properties of the training sequence for channel estimation and an optimised threshold. Software simulation is used to investigate the effect of the channel on system performance , mainly the impact of delay spread. Our BER simulation results show that this simple Non-Coherent Equaliser yields acceptable performance in the delay range of the outdoor DECT channels (100 to 250 ns) while it is much less sensitive to both modulation index drifts and frequency offsets. Furthermore BER comparison with the more complex Viterbi equaliser indicate very similar performance improvement

Full textThis thesis studies several problems to improve the quality of service offered to subscribers and to set up handover mechanisms. The first part deals with dynamic resources allocation mechanisms for the Abis interface. These mechanisms must allow the deployment of the E-GPRS technology, while preserving the existing Abis structure. The second part analyzes various handover approaches which can be set up to allow user mobility in the E-GPRS networks. We introduce several proposals to improve reselection performances and to set up a real handover. We details recent evolutions of the standardization, then we expose our results which allow to compare performances of the various studied mechanisms. The third part deals with inter-systems handovers. We analyze the terminal transfer from an E-GPRS base station to a WIFI access point integrated to the mobile access network. We also study the performances of several handover mechanisms which can be used in case of streaming traffic. Our results show the benefits offered by the introduction of a convergence layer at LLC level. The fourth part studies compression mechanisms which can be set up to reduce the size of SIP signalization messages. The aim of this study is to reduce the signalization transmission delays - through low data rate bearers - and to reduce the use of radio resources

Full textThis thesis deals with the development of a behavioral model of microwave power amplifiers. The main goal is to obtain a non linear model of the amplifier taking into account the global commu-nication link performance. The model is developed from readily available measured or simula-ted one tone or two tones signals. Starting from the memoryless behavioral model, we developed two models. The first one allows to take into account the HF memory phenomena of the power amplifier, and the second takes into account both HF and BF memory phenomena. Such a model can be used in the context of high bit rate and broadband communication systems to evaluate the amplifier performance in real ope-rating condition. An analytical formulation is finally proposed in order to analyse the spectral regrowth (ACPR) at the output of a non linear power amplifier driven by a digitally modulated carrier in digital radio system

The thesis has as aim to answer the following question : how the industrial strategies make the mobile become a support or a unique point of access of the global convergence ? The radiotelephony is now in synergy with many sectors as edition, games or audiovisual – and radio broadcasting. The portable and wireless internet is nearly becoming the wireless “ multimedia ”. Is it to say that the mobile can be considered as the point of access on the one are concentrated the convergence strategies ? Can the radiotelephony add to its status of communication system a media function (with hard and software) ? Theoretically is the convergence representing a kind of progress linked to the information society ?

Full textEmerging communication systems are oriented toward the modulations with non-constant envelope like OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex) and to the use of spread spectrum techniques. The modulated signals exhibit large dynamic and the influence of power amplifier nonlinearity cannot be further neglected. A solution is to correct the power amplifier nonlinearity with an additional device so that the resulting system exhibits quasi linear characteristic ideally up to saturation. This dissertation is oriented in the domain of digital predistortion for power amplifier linearization. It begins with the study of the influence of memoryless nonlinearity on the OFDM signal. A relationship between EVM (Error Vector Magnitude) at the output of the power amplifier and the amplifiers characteristics is derived. The main part of the dissertation is devoted to the algorithms for the adaptation of digital adaptive baseband predistorters. After the state of the art presentation, several adaptation methods or their modifications are proposed and evaluated using simulations. The influence of main sources of imperfections (quantization in data converters and quadrature modulator imbalance) on the adaptation algorithms was investigated as well. Submitted dissertation also compares the complexity of different approaches (LUT predistorters, memoryless polynomial predistorters, polynomial predistorter with memory) used for predistortion. The efficiency of transmitters employing digital predistortion is also briefly discussed

Full textIn the Next Generation Networks the control plane and the service plane are entirely separated. This separation ensures the autonomy of each plane and enables their independent development and deployment. The specification of the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), as a unique service control overlay over the heterogeneous networks, eases the interaction between these planes. However, this interaction becomes challenging when multiple services are invoked during a session. The goal of this thesis is to provide IMS, with mechanisms to manage the interactions between services. We addressed two problems in this field: the negative interactions that are due to the conflicts between services and the positive interactions that enable the composition of services. The service conflicts occur as services invoked during an IP session behave correctly when processed separately from each other, but not when running together. We defined a SIP-based algorithm and the associated mechanisms to enhance IMS service invocation. This algorithm is the core of the Service Broker, a new functional entity in charge of managing the service conflicts. We validated our proposal through a performance evaluation and prototyped the Service Broker on an open source IMS platform. By means of service composition all kinds of service inter-working scenarios, independently of the underlying control functionalities, can be achieved. We defined a SIP-based service composition management algorithm, over the Service Capability Interaction Manager (SCIM) of IMS. This algorithm enables the interoperability and cooperation between different services and allows enriching and personalizing the services based on the user needs and preferences. We presented the application of our proposition in different use cases and validated it through the analytical studies

From now on they can freely choose the best interface corresponding to their needs, switching from a device to another while enjoying a same service. This freedom leverage new mobility issues that directly impact the user experience. The state of the art introduces two services types with specific properties : applicative services commonly known as local or remote applications and telecommunication services based on standardised infrastructures. The study of the mobility constraints and the existing approaches shows that current solutions in this domain are incomplete and cannot assure an end-to-end continuity : selection, transfer, adaptation, etc. We implemented continuity mechanisms in the ims and web environments for telecommunication and multimedia services in order to emphasize the lacks of the existing solutions and identify the basic features of a unified mobility management model. These works led to a more abstract vision of the service concept, required to define a generic continuity model adapted to the user’s heterogeneous environment. We introduced innovative concepts and original mobility mechanisms, which we implemented in a "distributed Service Manager". Finally, we evaluated this model with qualitative and quantitative tests on a prototype according to a transfer scenario of text-edition service in a heterogeneous environment. Results are very satisfying, they prove the feasibility of our solution and its adequacy with the temporal and contextual constraints

Full textThe studies presented in this dissertation are focussed on the development of a parameter estimation method and the design of linearization techniques for radio frequency power amplifiers. Firstly, we review briefly the main criteria for the evaluation of power amplifier characteristics. Models usually described in literature are presented. Secondly, we have developed a new identification procedure for radio frequency power amplifier in the presence of nonlinear distortion and memory effects. The proposed procedure uses a continuous-time model where PA dynamics are modelled with the Hammerstein model based on a multivariable filter and a general polynominal function. Using the base band input and output data, model parameters are obtained by an iterative identification algorithm. Finally, the proposed estimation method is tested and validated on simulation and experimentation by comparison of the quadrature signals in time domain. The third part is dedicated to the presentation of techniques to improve the PA linearity. Base band techniques are preferred because numerical algorithm can be used to control their operating parameters. Then, digital predistortion and internal model control are evaluated. An adaptative technique for digital predistortion is presented. The proposed method uses the real-time digital processing of base band signals to compensate the nonlinearities and memory effects. Recursive Least Squares and Kalman filtering algorithms are used to track the changes in the PA characteristics. Simulation and measurement results, using digital signal processing, are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach

Full textThe development of wideband mobile communication systems requires a better knowledge of the characteristics of the mobile channel as described by its power delay profile, directions of arrival and Doppler shifts of scatterers. A channel sounder can perform a multidimensional small-scale characterization of channels for stochastic modelling or communication system evaluation, such as allowable data rates. The aim of the present study is to assemble a number of instruments that are able to perform the sounding of SIMO propagation channels in indoor environments. Direction finding and beamforming systems are also implemented by using most of these tools, in particular, the Five-port circuit used as a homodyne demodulator of RF signals and high-resolution estimation techniques such as MUSIC. Five-port discriminators use a third redundant mixer to decrease the system dependency from the phase and amplitude unbalance of local oscillators. The directional angle resolved channel impulse response is jointly estimated in the angle and time delay domains by extending the MUSIC algorithm associated with the enhanced 2D-SS technique. The ray-tracing technique is implemented to compare channel parameters resolved deterministically to estimated parameters of an indoor propagation channel resolved by channel sounding. The performance of the beamforming system is tested by measuring the bit error rate for a different number of antenna array elements. We demonstrate the ability of the proposed system to perform spatial filtering and provide higher gain and smaller BER in the useful signal direction even in presence of a strong interference level

Full textRecent developments of mobile communications and increasing number of services need the development of multistandard, reconfigurable and reduced size terminals designs. These terminals need reliable, low cost and high-performance technologies. Some techniques, as monolithic integration, have already been studied to optimize size and performances of RF systems. By this way, the terminal size is limited by the interconnecting and antenna access systems, as filtering systems (diplexer) or “smart” antenna access circuit as Butler matrices. In this work, we propose some techniques of size reduction of theses systems. The study is based on the classical integration technology, which we modified to create compact systems. Modeling, characterisation and limitations of these techniques are presented to design high performance compact systems. Some measurement results are presented to illustrate the size reduction possibility of these techniques

Full textDesigning software for mobile ad hoc networks presents news challenges : in a manet, devices are mobile, resources are scarce and in absence of infrastructure, everything is decentralized. Therefore, a new algorithmic, adapted to manet, has to be defined. This thesis proposes a set of algorithms for developing a distributed data sharing system for manets: - a clustering algorithm to create groups of terminals stable over time. This algorithm's main advantage is that it does not create any network load since it uses cross-layering information from the routing layer to know which terminals are reachable. - a proactive replication algorithm, which, for each data, creates and maintains a number of replica proportional to the number of terminals, that it places on the devices where they are most likely to be used. This algorithm enhances data availability and data sharing reliability. - a cache management algorithm which tries to regulate the best number of replica so as to optimize the use of the network, while maintaining data availability. First of all, when a cache replacement is needed, the algorithm eliminates data less recently used, and for which the number of replica is high enough to maintain availability. It also reduces the network load by removing useless replica which generate network traffic (not used by their host)

Full textRevenue management for mobile voice telecommunications has not attended much attention up to now. Among the few existing works, most have focused on solving the network congestion issue and on controlling traffic. However, for mobile telecommunications operators, even if congestion control is a good reason for considering a revenue management system, it also represents a good tool for increasing carrier revenue. Therefore, in this thesis we investigate dynamic pricing strategies for voice telecommunication industry with economical perspectives considering network resource control as a second priority. The challenge is to propose efficient tools and methods to optimize pricing of the new commercial service. The offer systematically sets a dynamic pricing in real time, depending on time, space and network load. The price offered to the customers typically changes every 30 minutes and differs from an antenna to another one. A simple daily rule is used to compute prices, setting a same price at two different times instants when their network loads are at a same level. The challenge is to optimize pricing for this new offer using an estimation of the traffic and its price sensitivity day by day to accurately compute the prices in a timely fashion. A deterministic approach has been adopted to estimate demand and load, to formulate the revenue maximization problem and to solve the dynamic pricing problem. Load and demand are modeled as functions of time, cells, and price. Using these models several mixed integer quadratic programs (MIQP) have been proposed

Full textThis Phd thesis talks about modulation and demodulation algorithms suitable in a base station using antenna array both in uplink and downlink mode and working with a CDMA radiomobile configuration. Firts we will focus on the elaboration of a space-time receiver algorithm which tends to reduce interferences from other mobiles than lose of interests. This algorithm is placed near a Rake2D demodulator (reference algorithm) in a simulator that processes real signals. Once the signals of interest are synchronised in frequency and in time, we compare the error rate of both algorithm. The low gain in term of error rate of the anti-reference algorithm compared to the reference algorithm leads us to propose a new criterion for the receiver. This criterion leads to optimal, linear, multiuser space-time receiver. The final structure is an MLSE receiver that was validated by a whole of numerical simulations based on synthesized signals using non-cyclic spreading codes. In a second time, we leave receiver algorithm to focus on transmitter algorithm. We present a new algorithm which is able to compute power and antenna weights associated to all mobiles in a cell. This algorithm, named Obèle algorithm, converges to the minimum of the configutaion space

Full textRadiomobile phone networks developments aims to study geographic constraints on wave propagation. In order to optimize the quality of the mobile telecommunications and of the antennas localization, a study of the geographic data used in GSM 900 MHz radio mobile engineering has been improved. That is particularly the case in urban areas, where any antenna placement meets a great number of constraints dues to numerous buildings and lots of debates, which play the rule of obstacle for radio waves. Considerations on Spatial analysis and appropriate information integration have been used inside the Geographical Information System in order to measure the correlation between geographic data (quality, typology, scale, morphology, structure. . . ) and the quality (radio prediction accuracy, computing time) of the model of radio wave propagation. Moreover, new variables like morphological indicators and line of sight surfaces have been incorporated to improve the geographic model. With those variables, coverage capability computations have been improved in propagation models. Our results have served to design an informatics' prototype: the model OpenMorph. OpenMorph project is developed as a module of a Geographical Information System. It is splitted into two parts: a spatial analysis module allowing computing geographic data and a radio computation module which improve two waves' propagation models (Okumura-Hata and COST-LD). Our project has been tested on the Urban Community of Strasbourg
