Radio relics trace shock fronts generated in the intracluster medium (ICM) during cluster mergers. The particle acceleration mechanism at the shock fronts is not yet completely understood. We observed the Toothbrush relic with the Effelsberg and Sardinia Radio Telescope at 14.25 GHz and 18.6 GHz, respectively. Unlike previously claimed, the integrated spectrum of the relic closely follows a power law over almost three orders of magnitude in frequency, with a spectral index of α58 MHz18.6 GHz = −1.16 ± 0.03. Our finding is consistent with a power-law injection spectrum, as predicted by diffusiv

The origins of the American-born Churches of Christ are exceedingly complex. While most historians have argued that Churches of Christ separated from Alexander Campbell's Disciples of Christ late in the nineteenth Century, this essay will suggest that the genesis of Churches of Christ was not a matter of Separation from the Disciples at all. Rather, Churches of Christ grew from two early nineteenth-century worldviews that coalesced and intertwined with one another in ways that often defy disentanglement. The first was the apocalyptic perspective of Barton W. Stone; the second was the radically

Abstract As natural analogues for the long-term corrosion behavior of overpack materials such as carbon steel data about the extent of corrosion from archaeological iron artifacts buried in soil provide useful information as supporting evidence for the safety assessment of nuclear waste disposal. Although a lot of corrosion data are necessary to guarantee the validity of the long-term behavior, archaeological samples are invaluable but difficult to analyze. The purpose of this study is to investigate the corrosion behaviour of an iron plow surrounded by soil excavated from Oda Castle in Japan.
