The data from several weather stations in Western Algeria show a semi-arid climate during last decades. The entire study region showed a great variability in the occurrences of the first and second rainy days in the year. This variability is associated with a positive trend, showing a continuous increasing aridity in the south Mediterranean and the late arrival of the rainy season is well marked. The rainy season in the north of Algeria, spreads from September to June. The origin of the rains differ according to the seasons. The rainfall from June to October is of localized stormy origin, wher

At approximately one o’clock on a cold, rainy, and blustery New England day, 6 March 1889, Mr. Robertson James ambled up the front stone steps to the grand oak door located at 5 Boylston Place on Beacon Hill near the Massachusetts State House. On the other side lay the offices of the American Society for Psychical Research, where his brother William James, the psychologist and philosopher, and Richard Hodgson, the organization’s secretary, awaited him. Robertson had come directly to inform them that the James brothers’ aunt—Mrs. Catherine Walsh—had just passed away. Although “Aunt Kate’s” death certificate stated that she had died at “about 12 o’clock midnight,” her nephew had just been notified that she had passed away about 2:00 or 2:30 A.M. earlier that morning. Robertson, however, had not arrived from the coroner’s office, the hospital, the police station, or her bedside. Nor had he spoken with any physicians, nurses, aids, or relatives. Rather, he had just returned from a séance with Mrs. Leonora Piper, the trance medium whose primary control “Dr. Phinuit,” purporting to be in contact with Aunt Kate’s spirit in the “other world,” had announced the news. According to a statement signed by all three men, “Mrs. Walsh has been ill for some time and had been expected during the last few days to die at any hour. This is written before any despatch has been received informing [us] of the death.” Mrs. Alice Gibbens James, William’s wife and a Spiritualist enthusiast, also had participated in the séance. When she inquired about Aunt Kate, Mrs. Piper replied that “she is poorly” and suddenly threw her head back and blurted out, “Aunt Kate has come.” Mrs. Piper informed Mrs. James that when she returned home that evening she would find a “letter or telegram … saying she was gone.” When the Jameses did return home, William wrote, “I found a telegram as ...

This chapter discusses the Person of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity who proceeds eternally from the Father. In his work in Christology Athanasius made the relevant conceptual breakthrough, yet the church was rightly cautious in stating the ontology involved. Efforts to secure the filioque clause are not successful. There is merit in applying the biblical images of breath, rain, water, dove, wine, and oil. Later images focusing on force-field, bond of love, and light are interesting but light should be preferred, not least because it helps us make theological sense of the transfiguration of the Son.

Abstract:
Due to the huge significance of climatic changes in various fields, weather forecasting and monitoring play a big role in the day to day life. These atmospheric changes like temperature, pressure, and humidity are critical elements to be checked regularly as they can help to either plan activities like agriculture, the likelihood of rain, or they can warn and protect human life from the serious issues that can happen including floods and extreme heat. There are numerous instruments and online applications that can monitor and give weather forecasting information, yet these methods do not provi

Abstract:
This report summarizes the findings of a study carried out to evaluate the agronomic performance and sensory acceptance by small holder farmers of six biofortified orange-fleshed sweetpotato (OFSP) varieties that were first introduced from CIP’s sweetpotato breeding hub for Southern Africa in Mozambique. The study was participatory and carried out under different agroecological environments in Zimbabwe. The six OFSP varieties, namely Alisha, Victoria, Delvia, Sumaia, Namanga and Irene were planted in the 2019/20 agricultural season along with two non-biofortified white-fleshed local varieties,
