Full textAn information system is something that evolves over time to enhance the company that is using it. The technology for building an information system is also evolving. New methods and new programming languages make system development easier. As new technology breaks ground and the demands of a company’s information system grow, the company will sooner or later get to a point where a change in the base of the system is necessary. Today a component-based framework is a common choice among companies. Our survey aims to find out what factors a company considers when they choose a new framework. Some of the factors we consider are how they affect the choice in the company, and if these same factors will influence the same choice in all companies.
The results are based on a survey that we have done for six major companies. The results show that several factors affect the choice - independent or in combination with other factors. One of the most important factors is whether deeper knowledge about the framework can be acquired within the company or in the open market. It is also important that the supplier of the framework is reliable and well respected on the market. For guidance in these matters most companies turn to market forecasts from major IT research and advisory firms. We can also establish that the answers we got from the separate companies show large similarities concerning which factors they thought affected their choice the most.

Full textThis degree project describes the work of comparing and evaluating the JavaScript-frameworks React Native and Ionic, with respect to mobile application development and the criteria performance, community, plugin, and evolvability. The purpose was to compare React Native and Ionic to provide increased information and support for selecting JavaScript-framework associated with mobile application development. Criteria were determined by a feasibility study and validated and ranked by interviews with experts. The result of this degree project became very even with only a few points difference with the benefit of Ionic. Both JavaScript-frameworks are good alternatives in developing mobile applications, and the most appropriate framework depends greatly on which criteria you choose and how you score the criteria. For future development, criteria and scenarios can be further expanded to get a better foundation and a more varied result.

En modell är en abstraktion av en vald del av verkligheten i vilken det är möjligt att fokusera på och lyfta fram det som anses viktigt och bortse från det som inte är viktigt. En konceptuell modell är en sådan abstraktion av ett informationssystem.
De konceptuella modellerna är de modeller som ska ligga till grund för design och implementation av informationssystemet, men de ska också ligga till grund för diskussion med övriga intressenter till det kommande informationssystemet. Detta ställer stora krav på de konceptuella modellerna eftersom de både måste vara avancerade nog för att ligga till grund för designen och implementationen och enkla nog för att kunna ligga till grund för diskussion med intressenterna. Att denna tvådelade inriktning krävs beror oftast på att de flesta intressenter inte har lika stor kunskap inom detta område som de experter som har tagit fram och dessutom arbetar med de konceptuella modellerna.

Full textToday, there’s no effective way for field data collection and its associated map objects when planning construction of new roads. The forest industry wishes to be able to do this with a mobile device with or without an internet connection, with the help of an open-source geographical information system-framework. We have therefore conducted a case study. We needed to know what the requirements were. The requirements needed was forwarded during an interview with one person from our partner organization that had contact with a forest company. We identified eight frameworks, whereas five were left after the screening. The screening was done by discarding the frameworks that didn’t fulfill the main requirements that we got from the interview. The five remaining frameworks were analyzed by identifying the pros and cons that were based on how well the frameworks fulfilled the evaluation criterias. The evaluation criterias were based on the requirements we got from the interview as well as the additional criterias that we considered important when working with open-source frameworks. E.g. the quality of the documentation, when the framework was last updated, the eventual cost etc. The framework we finally recommended was “Mapbox”. This framework did not have the highest coverage of requirements. However we decided that it was the most well-suited choice based on the open-source criteria’s we put forward.

Full textIn the use of the third generation Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the development of products and services, there are many hidden risks that may be difficult to detect at an early stage. One of the risks with the use of machine learning algorithms is algorithmic bias which, in simplified terms, means that implicit prejudices and values are comprised in the implementation of AI. A well-known case is Google’s image recognition algorithm, which identified black people as gorillas. The purpose of this master thesis is to create a framework with the aim to minimise the risk of algorithmic bias in AI development projects. To succeed with this task, the project has been divided into three parts. The first part is a literature study of the phenomenon bias, both from a human perspective as well as from an algorithmic bias perspective. The second part is an investigation of existing frameworks and recommendations published by Facebook, Google, AI Sustainability Center and the EU. The third part consists in an empirical contribution in the form of a qualitative interview study which has been used to create and adapt an initial general framework. The framework was created using an iterative methodology where two whole iterations were performed. The first version of the framework was created using insights from the literature studies as well as from existing recommendations. To validate the first version, the framework was presented for one of Cybercom’s customers in the private sector, who also got the possibility to ask questions and give feedback regarding the framework. The second version of the framework was created using results from the qualitative interview studies with machine learning experts at Cybercom. As a validation of the applicability of the framework on real projects and customers, a second qualitative interview study was performed together with Sida - one of Cybercom’s customers in the public sector. Since the framework was formed in a circular process, the second version of the framework should not be treated as constant or complete. The interview study at Sida is considered the beginning of a third iteration, which in future studies could be further developed.

Full textThe importance of sustainable responsibility for enterprises was introduced in 1992 lead bythe global goals of sustainability at the time. This evoked a discussion involving methods forthe accounting of sustainability. After a period of approximately 25 years, the SwedishAnnual Accounts Act was reformed to include legislation meaning larger enterprises ought toaccount for their sustainability work. Beyond this legislation, however, there is no guidanceregarding which framework an enterprise should turn to for help. The goal of this study hastherefore been to examine the uses of specific frameworks in listed companies on TheNASDAQ Stockholm stock exchange. The companies’ choice of framework is also examinedin regards to their line of business. Three points for measurement have been distinguished asthe years of 2014, 2016 and 2018. A quantitative content analysis was conducted whichgenerated a few conclusions. The results pinpoint that most companies, as well as most of thelines of businesses, conduct a sustainability report. It was also shown that businesses conductthese reports in regards to the legitimacy it earns them, as well as the compelling isomorphismthrough the Swedish Annual Accounts Act. The most frequently used frameworks weredistinguished as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Sustainability Reporting Standards,International Organization for Standardization (ISO), UN Sustainable Development Goals(SDG) and the UN Global Compact (UN GC).

Full textAs the technological advancements of our society continue to thrive, there is a need foran exponential growth in the field of cybersecurity. Trends suggest this has not beenthe case and the amount of data- and security breaches has drastically increased overthe past few years. Earlier studies suggest that these incidents could be prevented, orat least limited, by implementing modern cyber security frameworks, such as CISCritical Security Controls.The main aim of this study is to, by conducting an initial investigative survey, examine the existing opinions of professionals from the cybersecurity industry regardingthe significance and effects of implementing such cyber security frameworks.The results of our initial study suggest that cyber security frameworks could contribute to a both sufficient and substantial level of security. However, some caution shouldbe taken into consideration as the frameworks require both experience and adaptation. Furthermore, our results also show that there is a need to introduce basic cybersecurity competence in education, including education traditionally considered to beoutside the field of cybersecurity, as a result of the transformed digital environment.

Full textSheet-swept connection solutions are a method for joining structural pipes in aircraft constructions. It is a simple approach that avoids the extensive demands placed on, among other things, welded connections. Previously, calculation data were not available, which this study aims to meet in the form of specifications and comparisons. Graham Lee's drawings and design specifications for the replica variant of the Nieuport 12 aircraft have been followed in the analysis of the connection solution. The method is based on three parts, calculations, experimental testing and FEM analysis. These form a specification of the joint's four most central load cases and their strength: tension (1130 N), plane deflection (4.5 Nm), in plane deflection (17.5 Nm) and torsion (4.5 Nm). The results are compared with calculations of loads in the pendulum rudder to determine how well the connection solution is suitable for this purpose. Identified load cases in the rudder are: plane deflection (3.2 Nm) and torsion (≤3.2 Nm). The results indicate that this type of connection is weak in the proposed purpose. The analysis highlights clear weaknesses in the connection solution and recommendations for improvements are given, these are primarily aimed at the thickness of the gusset and the introduction of an additional rivet. Furthermore, the sheet-swept joint solution is compared with welded joints which prove to be more suitable for this application.

Full textVehicles are becoming more and more complex and today large parts of the service and troubleshooting takes place via the vehicle’s CAN bus. For troubleshooting vehicles, hardware is needed that can communicate with a vehicle’s control units and a PC. It also requires software that can manage the information. Scania CV develops troubleshooting wizards that can handle this information. Scania feels that their current way to create troubleshooting wizards is not optimal. The current solution is based strictly on an XML scheme that governs what a troubleshooting wizard may contain. It can take a big amount of time to make changes in the XML scheme. It is also difficult to get an overview of the troubleshooting wizard and it takes time to preview and test the wizard’s conditions. This report describes the thesis that investigates whether, and if so, how troubleshooting wizards can be created without these problems using WF (Windows Workflow Foundation). A requirement specification containing the most vital features of the current solution was created. The requirement specification was used as the base for the implementation of the foundation of a new framework. The framework consists of a graphical user interface in form of a Windows Forms project, a WF project containing a state machine and a dll-file that represents the classes Guide and Step and created controls. The framework made it possible to create troubleshooting wizards in a more flexible way compared to the current solution.

Full textAbstract Background - Processors today are approaching the limit for how high clockfrequences they can run. This has led to that instead of trying to make them run faster they are instead made with multiple cores so they can utilize parallelization by running several threads in parallel. However aside from the CPU there is still the graphics card which has a large amount of unused computing power for long durations of time while the computer is active. While a GPU might not have as quick processors it instead has several thousands of them at the same time than a CPU which have led to the development of GPGPU-frameworks to use that potential parallelization. The profit in this lies in using algorithms and code functions that got high potential parallelization, one of which is the AES encryption algorithm. AES is one of the most widely used encryption algorithms today and also considered to be one of the most secure. Purpose – By using GPGPU-acceleration the encryption speed of AES is higher than by using a traditional CPU approach. To make the GPU-acceleration as effective as possible this study looks into which AES-method and which GPGPU-framework that should be chosen during development. Method – This study makes two literature studies to determine which AES-methods and which GPGPU-frameworks that are viable for GPU-acceleration of AES. Afterwards this study conducts experiments to determine which of these GPGPU-frameworks are the most effective. Findings – The conclusion drawn from the literature study is that the CTR-method among the AES-methods is preferable due to its parallelization potential and high security measures. Among the current GPGPU-frameworks only two frameworks satisfies the criteria determined from the literature study and those are CUDA and OpenCL. From the experiment the conclusion is thereafter drawn that of the two GPGPU-frameworks CUDA is more effective due to the bandwidth limits that OpenCL have compared to CUDA. This conclusion is valid on at least the tested graphics card, GTX 560. Implications – CUDA is faster at larger file sizes than OpenCL due to limited data transfer speed in OpenCL on a GTX 560. Limitations – The experiments were only conducted on one graphics card from Nvidia due to hardware constraints in that CUDA can only be run on Nvidia hardware. Due to this hardware constraint and Nvidia’s lack of support in their tools for debugging and profiling of OpenCL the results from the testing of OpenCL couldn’t be verified using external tools. Full textOn today’s market there are many attractive JavaScript-frameworks such as YUI, Dojo Toolkit, Kendo UI and Ext JS. The purpose with this study is to find JavaScript frameworks that are suitable in situation when developing large dynamic web applications. The study shall result in a proposal of one or more JavaScript frameworks to use in the situation previously described. The frameworks have been analyzed and compared with respect to the following aspects and criteria: scalability, AJAX, RPC-handling, cross-browser compatibility, GUI-components, cross-domain calls, DOM-handling, user-friendliness, performance, and licensing. To conduct this study a test application has been developed, that are developed with each framework. This application is feed with information from a database on a web server with PHP as the scripting environment. The application server’s primary objective is to provide information to the test application and not to generate the user interface. The result of this study indicates that Dojo Toolkit meets all requirements and has performed well overall. This framework satisfies the stated criteria and the specified aspects in an eminent way. It’s therefore proposed to be used as the main framework when developing large dynamic web applications. Ext JS is proposed as the secondary suggestion for the same purpose previously described.

Full textSammanfattning: I denna rapport har ett par olika Javascript-ramverk jämförts. Studien är utförd på CSN (Centrala studiestödsnämnden). Undersökningen består av två huvuddelar, en utvärdering genom litteraturstudie samt en utvärdering av implementation. I första delen av undersökningen har Javascript-ramverken Angular2, Aurelia, Ember, Meteor och React jämförts. Tillsammans med CSN har ett par kriterier tagits fram som det sedan kommer att delas ut poäng mellan ett till fem beroende på hur väl ett Javascript-ramverk uppfyller ett specifikt kriterium. Fem poäng ges ut då Javascript-ramverket uppfyller hela kriteriet, ett poäng ges ut då det delvis uppfyller kriteriet. Efter första delen av undersökningen kom det fram till att Angular2 och Aurelia skulle gå vidare till implemente- ringsfasen. Implementeringen består utav ett par fönster från den befintliga tjänsten ”Mina tjänster”. I utvärderingen av implementation mäts tid för implementering, inläsningstid för webbapplikationen samt antalet kodrader. Ur detta konstaterades det att Aurelia har mindre antalet kodrader än Angular 2. Inläsning tiden för Angular 2 är tre gånger längre än Aurelia. Men i bedömningen om hur svårt det är att implementera de bägge ramverken bedöms Angular 2 till nivån ”Me- del” och Aurelia till ”Svår”. Det Javascript-ramverk som rekommende- ras till CSN är Angular 2. Detta grundas på att det finns betydligt mycket mer dokumentation om Angular 2, samt att svårighetsgraden är lägre för Angular 2. Uppstarten av ett projekt är även mycket enklare i Angular 2, vilket betyder att det kräver mindre tid för att sätta sig in ramverket.

Full textPrioritizing system requirements is an important issue for utilizing resources in system development departments. Issues arise when the number of requirements to prioritize are more than there are resources available in the system development department. Thus, the system requirements that a company want carried out by the system development department must prioritized in a structured way. To make prioritization structured, support is required in the form of regulations, framework and methods for prioritizations. Today there are no frameworks that provide this support. This study explores which components a framework should consist of to support the prioritization of system requirements. The aim is to create a framework for implementing structured decision support with prioritization methods. A well designed research strategy containing three different research phases is used: exploration, design and evaluation. The research phases guide the work in the right direction and aim to counteract validity threats that may occur. The research method is of a qualitative and inductive nature. Facts are obtained through literature studies, interviews and preliminary studies, which were analyzed from which a first version of the framework's components is designed. Evaluation interviews are conducted with respondents who have many years of experience of prioritization in system development. The evaluation show that companies, regardless of industry, have similar conditions and structures to apply the framework. The first version of the framework is validated as relevant, appropriate and functional for prioritizing system requirements with minor adjustments. Following an analysis of the evaluation, a final version of the framework for prioritization of requirements in system development projects, called PaKS, was created. The outcome of the evaluation shows that PaKS is useful in its overall design, in which respondents contributed proposals for further design.

Full textBackground: Globalization has made the supply chain into a complex network with many different factors involved. The design of the supply chain and warehouse location is important for the competitiveness of a business. Choosing warehouse location has a major impact on a company’s success. Problem: The decision-making of the warehouse location is a complex process with many influential factors which implicates that effectively applying existing models is complicated. There is lack of a conceptual framework for the decision-making of choosing warehouse location. Objective: The aim for this study is to create a conceptual model for decision-making of choosing warehouse location, finding the key factors and to do a real-life feasibility study for a company with operations in Northern Europe. Calculations are made on the transportation cost, inventory cost, personnel cost. Transportation and culture are two internal factors also taken into account. Methodology: The methodology of the study is through a literature review, qualitative interviews with the case company, and other companies for understanding and calculations. Calculations are based on the gravity model. Boundaries: The case study is a feasibility study with comparisons between Sweden, Poland and Holland. The focus is on warehouse location, thus warehouse efficiency is not included. Results: A conceptual framework is presented with three main factors: Strategy, Economics and Environment. The main factors are general factors whereas the internal factors are more specific. The main factors are always taken into consideration while the internal factors must be prioritized, since there are too many. The further a company is to making the decision; more internal factors must be taken into account. The outcome of the feasibility study shows that the transportation costs are the largest cost unit for all of the countries. Personnel and inventory cost are major cost units in Sweden, but relatively small in Poland. The Optimal location for a central warehouse to the case company is currently Örebro, according to the gravity model. As sales grow in Eastern Europe, the optimal location is moved towards Stockholm. There are differences in culture between Poland and Sweden, which indicates the need for different leadership style in Poland. Conclusion: A conceptual framework has been made that can be applied to a real case. The framework requires some understanding of the process of choosing location for a warehouse since it does not stand on its own. There are other models to be use by combining this framework with others. The framework gives a good basis in the decision-making process of choosing warehouse location. The case study results in material that provides the basis for decisions on further analysis of warehouse location. Practical implications: The study results in a framework that is practical for individuals and companies to review warehouse location, and presents a comparison of three different countries. The framework and the study provide a good basis for further analysis. Further research: Further research should be done within practically applicable methods for the selection of warehouse location. To find out which models apply at different stages of business? What models are used in practice by companies?

Full textThe project included a comparison study on frame systems. The study investigated framework and truss/beam/column-system and was conducted independently with support of Ramboll AB 's office in Falun. The aim was primarily to examine what differences there are between frameworks with two joints and truss/beam/column-systems for light industrial buildings and try to determine why the truss/beam/column-system is the dominant system in Sweden because the rest of Europe has taken a different development and dominated by framework with two joints. The study examines the differences between the systems in a industrial building with predetermined dimensions in steel.Initially, a literature study was conducted to gain a broader view of the systems and to create a better understanding for the conditions for each system. After the literature study was conducted could a exampelhouse and underlay for the comparison study be developed. A survey study were also conducted and the purpose was to create a clear picture of which system the frame system designers in Sweden usually choose and why. The results of the study showed that frameworks with two joints give an increased cost compared with truss/beam/column-system in material consumption and production, and the calculations become more complicated for the framwork. Should further studies be done with these systems in buildings with other measurements, it might possible to obtain specific measures of buildings where the cost of frameworks with two joints will be the same as for a building with truss/beam/column-system and therefore become an equivalent alternative.An important conclusion of this project is that a framework with two joints is used much more rarely than truss/beam/column-system as frame systems in light industrial buildings in Sweden because the cost will be much higher with a framework with two joints and that it is a more complicated system in the computational work . The main conclusions from comparative study can be summarized as follows: Framwork with two joints is more expensive to use. Framework with two joints is a more complicated system computationally. The tradition of using framework with two joints does not exist and it's therefore the system does not being used.

Organisationer söker nya teknologier för att utöka sin konkurrenskraft, men nya digitala förutsättningar leder ofta till förändring av nyckelaktiviteter vilket medför ett behov av att utveckla ledningsmetoder för att styra dessa komplexa omvandlingar. Fallstudiens syfte är att utforska och identifiera aktiviteter som bidrar till de förmågor som är nödvändiga för att möjliggöra transformationen mot en värdebaserad affärsmodell inom IT-branschen. Fallstudiens syfte besvarades genom utvecklingen av ett transformationsramverk som vägleder organisationer att lyckas i transformationsprocessen. Metod – Studien utfördes som en explorativ fallstudie med en kvalitativ forskningsansats. Fallstudieföretaget är ett marknadsledande IT-bolag i Sverige. Den kvalitativa forskningsansatsen ledde till att 25 intervjuer genomfördes i tre intervjuvågor och resultatet utvecklades med hjälp av tematisk analys. Resultat – Fallstudien resulterade i ett transformationsramverk som består av tio förmågor utspridda i tre transformationsfaser. Förmågorna berör värdebaserad försäljning, värdebaserad prissättning och den organisationella förändringen som krävs för att transformeras till en värdebaserad affärsmodell. Förmågorna genererades genom den tematiska analysen där 33 aktiviteter identifierades som bidrar till förmågorna nödvändiga för att möjliggöra transformationen. Teoretiskt och praktiskt bidrag – Fallstudien bidrar till den tydligt begränsade forskningen inom värdebaserade affärsmodeller inom IT-branschen genom att empiriskt byggt vidare på tidigare forskning inom andra branscher och utvecklat den vidare. Genom identifiering av aktiviteter och förmågor nödvändiga för transformationen mot en värdebaserad affärsmodell och sammanställt dessa i ett vägledande transformationsramverk har organisationer fått ett vägledande verktyg som underlättar transformationsprocessen. Begränsningar och framtida forskning – Fallstudien är begränsad till ett enskilt fallstudieföretag inom IT-branschen. Därav rekommenderas framtida forskning med en bredare datainsamling för att undersöka generaliserbarheten av fallstudien samt för att bekräfta de identifierade aktiviteterna och förmågorna, men även för att möjligtvis identifiera ytterligare aktiviteter och förmågor.

Full textThe mobile industry is constantly changing, which has led to a fragmented market that smallbusinesses have difficulties to successfully establish in. Small businesses have had problemswith developing qualitative applications for different mobile devices. The main reason is theresource intensive process to develop native applications for multiple platforms andmaintaining the different codebases. Thus, smaller companies have usually chosen to developweb applications to deliver services to a more widespread target audience. Hybrid frameworkshave established themselves as a potential solution for developing mobile applications withhigher performance and functionality than web applications, while allowing developers to sharecode between platforms. In this study, employees of three smaller companies were interviewedto identify shared requirements held by small businesses to select a framework for applicationdevelopment. Based on the requirements, three hybrid frameworks were compared with thepurpose to identify which one was most suitable for small businesses. The results showed thatsmall businesses are different with varying needs and that there is no specific framework thatsuits all companies. On the other hand, it was found that all three hybrid frameworks comparedin the study were sufficiently developed to be implemented as potential solutions. With thatsaid, hybrid frameworks are not without flaws. Applications developed with hybrid frameworksdoes not yet achieve the same level of performance as native applications and is not platformindependent to the same extent as web applications.

SharePoint is a platform for intranet with interactive features, it makes the job easier for staff and even the company. The framework Omnia is a solution designed for Microsoft SharePoint 2013.This essay evaluates how Omnia acts as a framework and what the product is suitable for. Omnia framework evaluates carefully and is an independent assessment carried during this essay. The evaluation is based on scientific studies which are based on the qualitative and quantitative research methodology. The evaluator's main areas are based on system performance, scalability, architecture and functionality. A test prototype develops during the process in the form of an employee vacation request application by the development framework Omnia.The framework Omnia is considered to be suitable for the development of interactive web-based applications for SharePoint. The architecture for the system meets the requirements for scalable systems because it is based on the tier architecture. The system also has good performance but it needs to be improved if the number of users exceeds one thousand. The functionality of this product is quite suitable for the system's usage.

Full textIn todays society, both companies and private individuals want to be seen on the web – it is a platform that everyone expects to find information on. To reduce the costs of development but at the same time guarantee both funtionality and security, there are web-frameworks, a sort of library of functions for developers to use. The company NTT Communications often use the programminglanguage Python for development of internal web-applications. They are interested in knowing which web-framework, for this language, that best meets their requirements; fast development and modularity. For this studie two of the biggest web-frameworks for Python were chosen; Django and Pyramid. Django is an ”all-included”-framework whilst in Pyramid you have to make choices in the form of databasehandler, templatelanguage and more. The study aims to see which of these frameworks that best meet NTT:s requirements where a specific set of parts from these frameworks have been chosen were focus lies on: funtionality, modularity and complexity. The parts that are examined are: documentation, community, url-dispatch, templatelanguage and databasehandler. The study has mainly been conducted through examination of the frameworks documentation, articles and thirdparty-packages. The result shows that Django is best suited for fast development where all choices already have been made for you, but also that there is possibility for modularity with sometimes some loss in functionality. Pyramid on the other hand shows a higher level of modularity were the framework is constructed to be moduled but that this entails a higher complexity. Both frameworks show similar functionality.

Full textA starting point for the present thesis is the increased application of the project work form, a form that has been growing in usage since the mid 1900s. Today, multiproject environments have become increasingly common, i.e. organisations where projects are a normal part of the working environment and where they are of such great importance that project management and project steering (e.g. evaluation and follow-up) are considered important for the organisation's management. In many organisations where the ability to apply the project work form is critical for survival and profitability, there is a great need to improve the management of projects. The dominating view has long been that all projects are inherently alike, and can be effectively managed and controlled with standardised project management techniques and models. However, more and morere searchers are pointing out that because there are in fact quite distinct differences between different types of projects, project management must be adapted to the distinctive characteristics of the project, which presupposes the possibility of analysing the project in question – of being able to make a "project diagnosis". In an attempt to increase knowledge about projects as a type of work form, this doctoral study aims to develop descriptions of distinctive characteristics in projects that are essential for project management in multiproject environments. Three case studies have been performed in three organisations that have developed and implemented a project model to improve their project management. The case studies have been performed using action research methodology. This has made it possible to study project management during an extended period of time, creating nuanced descriptions of the distinctive characteristics in each multiproject environment. From the case studies, project research and personal experience in project environments, a framework for Structured Project Analysis (SPA) has been designed with the aim of increasing the generalisation of the results. The framework, based on three analysis models and three basic perspectives of projects, provides a conceptual model for structured project analysis independent of the case studies. The study shows how the various distinctive characteristics of different project types, such as the presence of dual operational logics and varying types of complexity, are crucial for both management of projects and for deciding which improvement measures are most effective in a multiproject environment. A further contribution of the study is the framework that has been designed based on the wide variation presented by different projects through a results perspective.

Full textEtt informationssystem syftar till att förse ett företag med information för att förbättra dess kompetens och effektivitet. Acceptansen av informationssystemet, och den effekt det får i företaget, är beroende av hur väl systemet motsvarar kundens krav. Trots denna vetskap är den främsta kritik som riktas mot informationssystem idag att de inte motsvarar intressenternas krav och således inte används i avsedd omfattning.
Den viktigaste informationskällan, som systemutvecklarna har vid undersökning av problemdomänen och kraven på det tänkta systemet är intressenterna. För att resultatet av systemutvecklingsprojektet skall bli så bra som möjligt kräver det att intressenterna är engagerade och involverade i processen att samla in information. Risken är annars att den insamlade kunskapen är ofullständig och inkonsistent. De metoder och tekniker som systemutvecklarna använder måste dels dokumentera informationen på ett explicit sätt och dels stödja kommunikationen med intressenterna.
I detta examensarbete undersöks de krav som ställs på metoder och tekniker för att de skall stödja kommunikationen med intressenterna. Resultatet av denna undersökning presenteras i ett ramverk som kan användas som underlag vid en undersökning av denna fråga. Ett exempel på användandet av ramverket utvecklas också.
