Abstract:
This diploma thesis deals with description of the design of the rear of the vehicle structure of Formula Student processed by using a 3D CAD system. Formula have to fulfill all requirements Formula Student rules. The requirements and rules are given by building of engine and other considered engine components. The final version of the design of the rear part is assembled with the supplied front and the computational model is created to simulate the torsional stiffness of the FEM system. Another analysis model is created for a foreign supplied frame construction. Both of these frames are in terms of torsional stiffness evaluated and mutually compared. There are also mentioned selected Formula Student rules and overview of the formula frames and their overview.

The diploma thesis deals with the design of manipulator construction for folding two-part molds. In the thesis, an analysis of the current state of knowledge in the field of handling equipment and industrial robots is generally performed. Subsequently, the work introduces the current issue of handling equipment that is used in foundry. Furthermore, the work deals with the analysis of the manipulator construction, choosing the appropriate solution for the construction of its own handling equipment. Design solution is supported by computational message, 3D model and drawing documentation of selected nodes. The conclusion is devoted to the evaluation of work and practical recommendations.

Design of frame of a human powered vehicle (HPV) is the aim of this diploma thesis. Wide analysis precedes design process. The thesis describes historical developement of land transportation, especially history of cycling, bicycles and other human povered vehicles, which are not so extended. Preferences and deficiencies of transportation by these ecological vehicles are shown. The thesis includes summary of most widespread and best-known conceptions, including their advantages and disadvanteges. Conception of three-wheeled vehicle was selected. It has two steered front wheels and one powered rear wheel. The accent is putted on wide efficiency, ergonomics, simplicity of vehicle`s frame and possibility of using common cycling components. 3D model of frame and assembly of vehicle was created. This model was checked by FEM computation.

Stress relieving in the welded joints occurs when loaded of the platform lift. Critical welds of profile from steel S235JRH and of stiffener from steel S355J0 are examined in terms of flexibility, strength and safety using strength analysis method. Under different welding conditions and parameters are performed the testing welds by method MAG. Macroscopic and microscopic inspection are conducted as well as tension test. Weld created in active gas 82 %Ar + 18 %CO2, by dip transfer with low values of welding current 96 A and voltage 20,2 V became as the top evaluated sample. This weld is recommended to use in practice.

Three types of test were made to determine properties of welds under different conditions. Tests were macroscopic inspection, tensile test and fracture test. Diploma thesis deals with detection of torsional stiffness with using photogrammetric equipment TRITOP device and subsequent comparison with created computational model in FEM software. Measurement and calculations were accomplished according to tutorials, which are the most effective and giving the most accurate results. Next the optional method of measurement of torsional stiffness in practice is formed for future formula series called Dragon. The reasons of different results and suggestion of optimalization are sum up in the end of the thesis.

This diploma thesis deals with the design of door frame curvature, meant for rail vehicle. Flat glass is adhesively bonded onto the curved door frame and due to the elastic deformation the door frame bends backwards. Hence the door frame must be bend with reserve so that the elastic deformation is covered. Finite element analysis of currently manufactured door with constant curvatere has been carried out, with this analysis it has been checked that the chosen problem approach is suitable. Design of door frame curvature is then made for door frame with combined curvature (different for lower and upper part of door frame). The aim of this thesis was to design the curvature so that after glass is bonded onto it, the door frame will have the right dimensions.

In the final part of the thesis, the frame is compared to its older predecessor, which is made solely of a tubular space frame, and its advantages and disadvantages are evaluated.

For more this part describes, experimental measurement and calculation of dynamic loads, which are further used as input for strength analysis. This work describes the construction of polymer - concrete frame of a machine tool. In particular it deals with the proposal of cast iron frame for the surface grinding machine BHP from the company KMS Brno, which should at all point replace the original cast iron frame of the same machine. The whole work is divided into two sections. First section consists of the research including a brief mention of the grinding technology in the reference to the construction of the frame of the grinding machine. Further the work deals with the theoretical knowledge regarding construction of frames of the machine. Finally it describes issues related to the technology of polymer – concrete and the production technology of parts from this material. Second section of the work consists of an engineering proposal of polymer – concreted frame considering the requirement of the main functional dimensions related from the structural measures. Subsequently the system approach and the principals for transition to the polymer – concrete construction of the grinding machine are made. The work concludes with the analysis and comparison of the two concepts (cast iron frame and polymer – concrete) in the terms of the Finite element method.

Basic requirements were, that new design must meet the newest Formula Student/SAE rules and other various requirements. In the thesis are built up an overview of most important rules and also an overview of previous frame designs. Next are described design process of the new frame and its stress analysis in FEM software. Main attention is given to analysis of torsional stiffness. The results of analysis are compared to previous frame designs and to parameters of Formula Ford. There are also given recommendations and other possibilities for further frame design development.

The project elaborated in terms of engineering studies concern with project of a manufactural process of separator weldment and of an economical analysis of a production calculated for one item of a weldment and one item of a casting. During elaboration this project there were used all obtainable norms and technical bibliography. In literery studies there are summarized important knowledges related to welding constructions, welding technology, heat treatment and checking fusion splices. There was choosed box construction for this separator weldment. That is designed of two types of material. First of materials S355J2G3, EN 10025 is used for structural parts and the second material S235JR, EN 10025 is used for stiffering pars. The propriety checking of this construction and used materials was performed by Finite Element Method. After calculating costs of production of both variants we can say, that the costs of production of one piece seperator weldment are considerably lower, than costs of production of one piece of casting.

Following basic information about possible support frame in competition, the rules description for the frame from thin-walled profiles as well as for composite structure. As the other are shown the most used material types by the tube frames. Continues the practical (design) part of the work. The work continues in construction/design part. Here are mentioned the requirements for the frame creating, calculation of each torsion strength and construction proposal including creating the analysis model. The aim of this diploma thesis is to design a cell for robotic arc welding of steel frame. Three possible solutions are provided and one of them is to be chosen to work out. Construction designs of fixture, machine guarding and material racks were created and devices and components required for cell functionality were chosen. All of that with regard to the safety of workplace operators.The result is 3D model of welding cell, it´s implementation and virtual commissioning in the simulation software Process simulate. Martin Lhota Formula Student Front Chassis Part Design DW, IAE, 2011, 75 pp, 62 pics The aim of the thesis is to suggest a suitable configuration of Formula Student Car’s front part of a frame according to current rules of SAE organization in the Formula Student competition. In this proposal low weight, manufacturability and sufficient torsion rigidity were preferred, whereas previously suggested solutions were reflected. At first there is presented a list of important SAE rules for the construction of front part followed by a short recherché of development of the constructional solution of frames and frames suitable for Formula Students car. Secondly there is described process during frame construction design and its computational model for the analysis which simulates torsion with the support of MKP system. Gained results and some parameters of the frame are compared with similar version of the frame construction which was suggested and made for the first Formula Student Car of our University. Moreover, there is also presented summary of suggested frame and also recommendation with possible alternatives for the next development.

The aim of this work is a static analysis of the reinforced concrete frame structure loaded by the effects of seismic loading. The work deals with the solution of multi-storey reinforced concrete structure designed for common loading conditions and further for possibilities of strengthening of the structure on effect of seismic loading. In the first phase of the work, the static analysis and the design of the main load-bearing elements of the frame structure (columns and main girder) were carried out for the ultimate limit state for the standard design load. In the second phase, the static analysis of the structure for the effects of accidental actions from low and high seismicity was performed and it was assessed whether the main load-bearing elements of the structure would continue to comply. Given that the structure did not satisfy the accidental actions of seismic loading, various ways of structure strengthening were designed and analyzed for their impact on the global and local behaviour of the structure. Also the designing of additional steps for structural reliability were performed. Static analyzes were performed in Scia Engineering and RFEM Dlubal software.

In this thesis the problem of optimizing the dimensions of the base frame molds for casts with FEM and for 4 weight classes, ie casts weighting 1, 3, 5 and 10 tons is solved. For the evaluation of the FEM ANSYS program was used. There are gradually presented optimization procedures for all four weight classes. There was established the persistence of forms and frame and at the end the conclusion of the technical-economic evaluation of the proposed forms in terms of material savings in comparison to the current state of production was made.

This master thesis deals with the strain, stress and reliability analysis of the safety frame of racing car. The safety frame is a part of passive safety, which it becomes active in a case of impact. The safety frame makes a reinforcement of the car body and provides its sufficient stiffness. The first part of the master thesis is focused on determination of stress and strain states during the static loading tests and their analysis. The loading conditions are prescribed by homologation regulations of Fédération Internationale de l´Automobile (FIA). The problem is solved, making use of computational modeling utilizing the Finite Element Method (FEM). The first part of thesis is used for the stiffness and safety analysis under the static loading test. The second part deals with the effect of loading velocity on the stress and strain states using the computational modeling and solver LS-DYNA.
