Abstract:
This paper describes that a measurement method for the surface condition of a thermally sprayed object and its three dimensional position with a laser rangefinder. The feature of this rangefinder is to equip an image sensor which has the ability of simultaneously detecting the position of a light and the incident angle onto the sensor. Moreover, the sensor has an autonomous exposure time control function. Therefore, our laser rangefinder can detect the 3D positions of an object with unknown reflectance. We constructed the prototype system and did some experiments to verify the proposed method.

This paper discusses the ultrasonic rangefinder car reversing system working principle based on single chip microcomputer control. Ultrasonic ranging module HC-SR04 is called to transmit and receive ultrasound by single chip computer, temperature is detected through the DS18B20 temperature sensor, the compensation of ultrasonic velocity influenced by temperature is done, and the display and alarm of distance and temperature are achieved by combining with the peripheral circuit module. On the basis of system hardware design, system software is designed and analyzed in detail. At present, traffi

In order to overcome the limitation, some traditional distance measurement methods in some special occasions go beyond measure flaw. This design centres on P89LPC932 and realizes non-contact air measurement by use of an ultrasonic sensor, which fully considers the close relationship of velocity and temperature, thus temperature compensation, further get measurement distance about 700cm, optimal precision at 1%. This design has some features, such as the strong anti-jamming capability, simple installation, small size, low power consumption, easy to embed in other system.

This article is the second in a series dealing with the hand-held instruments and techniques navigators have used to find distance.Warships frequently steam in tight formation in order to concentrate defensive gunfire. It is the Conning Officer's responsibility to keep his ship on station at an assigned range and bearing from the guide ship, usually the flagship of the Senior Officer Present Afloat. This can be an easy task when the fleet is steaming along peacefully, but it becomes a particularly challenging responsibility when the formation is changing course frequently under battle conditio

The compass measurement is one of the customary surveying methods that is used almost from the beginning of systematic geodesy and cartography. After the periods of the decreased use of this method, it was partially renewed by the ascension of the Field-Map technology that connects the compass measurement with the software tools for the environment mapping. It is currently mostly used for the forestry under-canopy mapping and other special tasks, where the current progressive technologies, especially photogrammetry and GNSS, can be used only with complication. The Field-Map set can include eit

The principle and classes of grating sensors are analyzed in this paper firstly. To the high-precision requirement of rangefinder for the measurement of high voltage cables, the design method based on grating sensor is proposed. It is realized by installing two grating sensors on the rangefinder platform which are used for outputting the elevation angle and the horizontal angle. The subdivision circuit of system is described in detail by using E-subdivision algorithm. Experiment shows that it can increase the measure precision greatly.

Abstract:
Methods are described for computer analysis of image-data from a coded-stripe rangefinder. The main objective is to find vertex coordinates and connectivity information for a polyhedral object, enabling it to be represented by a wire-frame model. For each of several rangefinder viewpoints, the data is processed to extract three-dimensional edge and vertex positions. The emphasis is on estimation techniques that make good use of fairly sparse data-points. Results from different viewpoints are merged to produce a 3D model of the object.
