Abstract:
Sensors connected to the cloud services equipped with data analytics has created a plethora of new type of applications ranging from personal to an industrial level forming to what is known today as Internet of Things (IoT). IoT-based system follows a pattern of data collection, data analytics, automation, and system improvement recommendations. However, most applications would have its own unique requirements in terms of the type of the smart devices, communication technologies as well as its application provisioning service. In order to enable an IoT-based system, various services are commercially available that provide services such as backend-as-a-service (BaaS) and software-as-a-service (SaaS) hosted in the cloud. This, in turn, raises the issues of security and privacy. However there is no plug-and-play IoT middleware framework that could be deployed out of the box for on-premise server. This paper aims at providing a lightweight IoT middleware that can be used to enable IoT applications owned by the individuals or organizations that effectively securing the data on-premise or in remote server. Specifically, the middleware with a standardized application programming interface (API) that could adapt to the application requirements through high level abstraction and interacts with the application service provider is proposed. Each API endpoint would be secured using Access Control List (ACL) and easily integratable with any other modules to ensure the scalability of the system as well as easing system deployment. In addition, this middleware could be deployed in a distributed manner and coordinate among themselves to fulfil the application requirements. A middleware is presented in this paper with GET and POST requests that are lightweight in size with a footprint of less than 1 KB and a round trip time of less than 1 second to facilitate rapid application development by individuals or organizations for securing IoT resources.

The construction industry plays a pivotal role in developing essential physical infrastructure and public facilities. Efficient inventory management is crucial for the growth and productivity of this industry. However, construction inventory management faces complex challenges due to the frequent project changes and coordination demands. Many construction companies still rely on manual processes or outdated software, leading to calculation errors, reporting delays, and an inability to swiftly adapt to project changes. To address these issues, this research introduces the Construction Inventory Application, developed using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) approach. This specialized application enhances construction inventory management by allowing rapid development, user involvement, early testing, and customization to meet unique project needs. The study demonstrates that the RAD-based Construction Inventory Application has the potential to significantly improve construction inventory management, minimizing risks associated with inefficiencies. This research contributes to advancing application development in the construction industry, aiding in efficient infrastructure development.

Cloud application platforms gain popularity and have the potential to alter the way service-based cloud applications are developed involving utilisation of platform basic services. A platform basic service provides certain functionality and is usually offered via a web API. However, the diversification of the services and the available providers increase the challenge for the application developers to integrate them and deal with the heterogeneous providers' web APIs. Therefore, a new approach of developing applications should be adopted in which developers leverage multiple platform basic services independently from the target application platforms. To this end, the authors present a development framework assisting the design of service-based cloud applications. The objective of the framework is to enable the consistent integration of the services, and to allow the seamless use of the concrete providers. The optimal service provider each time can vary depending on criteria such as pricing, quality of service and can be determined based upon Big Data analysis approaches.

Payroll is a system used by a company to manage the payment of the employees. The payroll system makes it simpler for HR to pay all employees' salaries each month. It is challenging for employees who work from home (WFH) to be present due to the COVID-19 epidemic. The HR department needs help overseeing and monitoring employee absences and regulating compensation. In response to these issues, a web-based information system was developed to simplify employee attendance tracking and to aid the Human Resource Division's (HRD) supervision and management of staff tasks and compensation. The system has undergone testing in the employee attendance phase, the validation process by the HRD Division and checking the results of the test and several factors starting from logging in to the payroll reporting process and the results of the UAT test on average meet the success rate indicators to be implemented into the company.

The current learning model is still very conventional. The method of learning the Yanbu'a book in general still uses the rote method by reading the book and listening to it from the teacher. The impact of learning like that causes the child to be less enthusiastic about learning so it is easy to bo-san. Seeing these problems, it is necessary to make mobile-based applications that can make it easier and fun for children to learn the Yanbu'a book. In this study, we will discuss the development of the Yanbu'a learning method with the Rapid Application Development Method on Android which was built using the Construct 2 application. Students are increasingly facilitated in learning and interest in learning is increasing.

The evolution of IoT has revolutionized industrial automation. Industrial devices at every level such as field devices, control devices, enterprise level devices etc., are connected to the Internet, where they can be accessed easily. It has significantly changed the way applications are developed on the industrial automation systems. It led to the paradigm shift where novel IoT application development tools such as Node-RED can be used to develop complex industrial applications as IoT orchestrations. However, in the current state, these applications are bound strictly to devices from specific vendors and ecosystems. They cannot be re-used with devices from other vendors and platforms, since the applications are not semantically interoperable. For this purpose, it is desirable to use platform-independent, vendor-neutral application templates for common automation tasks. However, in the current state in Node-RED such reusable and interoperable application templates cannot be developed. The interoperability problem at the data level can be addressed in IoT, using Semantic Web (SW) technologies. However, for an industrial engineer or an IoT application developer, SW technologies are not very easy to use. In order to enable efficient use of SW technologies to create interoperable IoT applications, novel IoT tools are required. For this purpose, in this paper we propose a novel semantic extension to the widely used Node-RED tool by introducing semantic definitions such as iot.schema.org semantic models into Node-RED. The tool guides a non-expert in semantic technologies such as a device vendor, a machine builder to configure the semantics of a device consistently. Moreover, it also enables an engineer, IoT application developer to design and develop semantically interoperable IoT applications with minimal effort. Our approach accelerates the application development process by introducing novel semantic application templates called Recipes in Node-RED. Using Recipes, complex application development tasks such as skill matching between Recipes and existing things can be automated. We will present the approach to perform automated skill matching on the Cloud or on the Edge of an automation system. We performed quantitative and qualitative evaluation of our approach to test the feasibility and scalability of the approach in real world scenarios. The results of the evaluation are presented and discussed in the paper.

Constituent data collection for each member of Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Daerah (DPRD) becomes a necessity. By conducting data collection of DPRD constituents will be easier to design the main points of the DPRD constituents who are aspirations from the constituents. Better constituent data processing is very necessary considering today in the absence of a system specifically for processing constituent data. The study conducted with members of the East Lombok Regency DPRD wants the development of constituent information systems to be developed quickly. The problem in this study is in a short period, therefore this study proposed Rapid Application Development (RAD) as a methodology in modeling the problem of developing information systems. RAD is a life cycle providing a way to design and develop information systems much faster with results that have high-value quality. Based on the test results on the system, testing is carried out by considering the three aspects, the first is the quality of this system aims to test the interface (interface), namely ease of use, response time, and language. Based on the results of testing the quality of the system obtained a score of 87% of the 13 respondents. Both assessments on the quality of information, this assessment aims to measure the accuracy of the information, information. Based on the results of the test, the assessment score was 83% while the third related to the quality of the Constituent Information System Service received as much as 85%. So the average results of the assessment of the entire type of testing obtained a score of 85% that the information system developed has been by the user's requirements.

Abstract:
The advancement of information technology drives improvements in academic services, including providing fast and transparent access to lecturer attendance status information. This study develops a Raspberry Pi-based lecturer status display to show real-time lecturer attendance. The system is developed using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method through the stages of data collection, analysis, design, implementation, and testing. Functional testing results show a 98% accuracy rate in data synchronization between the database and the display screen. A questionnaire distributed to 12 lecturers revealed that 86.7% of respondents found the application highly beneficial in quickly and transparently obtaining lecturer attendance information. Thus, this application can enhance efficiency and information transparency in the academic environment

This study aims to design a Smart Home application that uses the basic concept of the Internet of Things (IOT) using the Hybrid Mobile-based Rapid application development (RAD) method. The Rapid Application Development (RAD) method focuses on developing an application quickly, precisely and adaptively. By using the RAD method, the smart home application can be applied to Hybrid Mobile where the condition of some electrical equipment in the house can be controlled remotely, namely using a smartphone application or WEB application. From the results of this study the system can monitor and control several electrical equipment at home using the button command feature on mobile and web applications.

The aim of this research is to design and implement an application that can increase efficiency and accuracy in managing finances and wood supplies at UD. Anugrah Limbah. The Rapid Application Development method was chosen because of its advantages in accelerating the application development process through an iterative and collaborative approach, which allows end users to actively participate in every stage of development. The research results show that by using the Rapid Application Development method, applications can be developed in a shorter time with quality maintained. The resulting application has features such as recording financial transactions, monitoring wood supplies, and reporting that is integrated and easy to access.

It is common knowledge among computer scientists and software engineers that ”building robotics systems is hard”: it includes applied and specialized knowledge from various scientific fields, such as mechanical, electrical and computer engineering, computer science and physics, among others. To expedite the development of robots, a significant number of robotics-oriented middleware solutions and frameworks exist that provide high-level functionality for the implementation of the in-robot software stack, such as ready-to-use algorithms and sensor/actuator drivers. While the aforementioned focus is on the implementation of the core functionalities and control layer of robots, these specialized tools still require extensive training, while not providing the envisaged freedom in design choices. In this paper, we discuss most of the robotics software development methodologies and frameworks, analyze the way robotics applications are built and propose a new resource-oriented architecture towards the rapid development of robot-agnostic applications. The contribution of our work is a methodology and a model-based middleware that can be used to provide remote robot-agnostic interfaces. Such interfaces may support robotics application development from citizen developers by reducing hand-coding and technical knowledge requirements. This way, non-robotics experts will be able to integrate and use robotics in a wide range of application domains, such as healthcare, home assistance, home automation and cyber–physical systems in general.

Abstract:
The dictionary is one of the solutions for learning about vocabulary and translating it. The use of dictionaries in the form of books is less effective and efficient, so it is necessary to develop electronic dictionaries in the form of dictionary applications available on smartphones. This study aims to develop an Android-based three-language dictionary application, namely Bima, Indonesian, and English, which includes a speech to text feature. The software development method uses the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method. This method has four main stages: requirements planning, design, construction, and cutover. Data collection methods in this research include observation, interviews, documentation, and literature study. The data analysis technique used is qualitative data analysis of data resulting from observations, interviews, and literature studies. The application was built using the Flutter and Codeigniter frameworks. In the final stage of dictionary application development, testing was carried out on the application's functionality using the black box method. The results of the test show that the application runs very well; all buttons and features work as they should after fixing bugs and problems found in the final test before launch.

Rapid prototyping (RP) is an advanced manufacturing technology and has obtained widely application in recent years. RP technology can be used to machine complex physical part directly from CAD data without any cutter or technical equipments. A variety of new rapid manufacturing technologies have emerged and developed include Stereo Lithography (SL), Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), Laminated Object Manufacturing (LOM), and Three Dimensional Printing (3-D Printing). The paper summaries the working principle and discusses the application fields for four typical rapid prototyping technologies. Finally, the significant performance of rapid prototyping for modern industry is discussed. The investigation is beneficial for choosing an optimal forming process in industry.

Dimana kebutuhan dari aplikasi ini untuk menjawab permsalahan dalam proses pengaduan kerusakan jalan yang selama ini memiliki mekanisme birokrasi yang panjang. Dengan dibuatnya aplikasi diharapkan mampu menjadi salah satu alternative bagi masyarakat untuk menyampaikan laporan dengan cepat, tepat dan akurat. Hasil dari penelitian ini berupa aplikasi pelaporan yang dibuat dengan dua antarmuka yaitu mobile yang diperuntukkan bagi masyarakat dan web yang diperuntukkan bagi pemerintah. selain itu juga aplikasi yang dihasilkan telah dikembangkan secara terstruktur mengikuti proses dari metode RAD mulai dari perencanaan, desain RAD dan implementasi. Shaykh Manna Al-Qahthan said that the Qur'an is the message of Allah SWT for all humankind. As a country with a majority Muslim population, 87.18% based on statistical data at the end of 2010 from the Central Statistics Agency. Data from research conducted by the Institute of Al-Qur'an Sciences in 2017 noted that around 65% of Indonesian Muslim communities are illiterate in the Qur'an. Learning tajweed Al-Qur'an by taking classes directly usually will take longer to master one material because it is carried out once a week. Information Technology can be utilized in this problem. Android-based application is one of them. The focus of this research is build a mobile application for learning Al-Qur'an recitation with the Nurul Bayan method using the Rapid Application Development system method. The results of the Blackbox test calculation on the Tajweed Learning Application are 100% and the results of the UAT test are. Based on the results of testing using the Blackbox Testing and User Acceptance Test methods, Android-based Tajweed Learning Applications can assist users in learning the basic theory of Al-Qur'an recitation with the Nurul Bayan method.

Sistem ini digunakan oleh penyelaras, penyelia dan penilai. Tujuan utama pembangunan sistem ini kerana penyelia dan penilai masih menggunakan pengiraan secara manual iaitu mengisi markah pada borang pemarkahan. Kaedah merekod markah secara manual melalui sistem pemfailan ini adalah kurang efektif dan tidak praktikal. Hal ini kerana ia menggunakan borang yang dicetak di atas kertas di mana penilai dan penyelia boleh melakukan kesilapan dari segi keciciran maklumat atau tersilap mengira markah pelajar. System ini dibangunkan berdasarkan model Rapid Application Development (RAD). Sistem ini membolehkan penyelia dan penilai melakukan proses penilaian markah secara sistematik di atas talian. Selain itu, penyelaras, penyelia dan penilai dapat menjana laporan pemarkahan pelajar menggunakan sistem ini untuk tujuan dokumentasi. Selain itu, laporan keseluruhan markah juga dapat dijanakan oleh sistem ini bagi tujuan pelaporan. Bagi perisian dan perkakasan, sistem ini menggunakan PHP, Notepad++ dan XAMPP untuk membina sistem ini. Selain itu, mySQL pula digunakan untuk menguruskan pangkalan data. Secara keseluruhannya, sistem ini berjaya mengikuti objektif dan menyelesaikan masalah berdasarkan ujian yang dijalankan.

By using a system, business actors will be able to control and evaluate their business with appropriate reports. For this reason, the purpose of this study is to build a restaurant management information system using the RAD (Rapid Application Development) method, because building this application requires a systematic, structured, and object-oriented process. The RAD method emphasizes a high quality systems, fast development and delivery and low costs development process [1] so that this process requires a serious role from business actors to build a restaurant management information system. The results of this system design can make it easier for business actors to control the business process from the customer to the kitchen so that the food and beverage ordering process will be served quickly. The GUI restaurant management information system is made interactively so that customers and business actors can easily understand the system. The test results of this system use black-box testing, with the conclusion that the system is successful to run.
