Abstract:

Abstract:
Rap and luxury fashion form hip hop’s most unshakable couple. However, female rappers appear to have a more difficult time acquiring and manipulating luxury fashion. When the female rapper demands expensive clothing from her sex partners, is she complicit in her reification as a sexually alienated subject or is she highlighting the value of black women’s labour? In fact, if we look closely at the nexus of luxury fashion, sexuality, and female rappers, there occurs an important transformation of the luxury sign. For rappers like Roxanne Shanté, Nicki Minaj, and Cardi B, luxury objects and branded fashion are not symbols of taste or habitus, in the sense Bourdieu (1979) gives them. Instead, these female rappers question the social weight carried by the luxury commodity; they demand consecration, in the truest sense of the word, through the luxury gift; or, conversely, they highlight the luxury commodity’s real use value.

Abstract:
This article presents an analysis of the load capacity of the bolt joints of collecting electrodes with the rapper rod, made in HUCK technology. A discrete model of the system of electrodes was worked out for the analysis of stresses in bolt joints, the validation of which was made on the basis of measurement data obtained on the test bench. Two variants of joining the plates of electrodes with the rapper rod were taken into account in calculations - the first one with the correct geometry in the rapper rod, the other one with an eccentric displacement of holes in the flat bars of the rapper rod. In both variants the modelled system was loaded with the impulse force corresponding to the impact of the hammer against the anvil, with the run obtained from measurements on the test bench. These models and the related calculations were performed in the ABAQUS environment. As a result of the analyses performed, recommendations were worked out intended to eliminate cases of the destruction of bolt joints closest to the anvil of the rapper rod.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Aspiring popular musicians, particularly rappers, often feel unwelcome in tertiary music study. While hip hop has entered the academy through other fields, it is still mostly absent from music departments. In 2014, a rapper began studies in a small, open Bachelor of Music programme that had no coursework or specialists in this area. His course of study ultimately looked somewhat similar to other students’ but also included a blend of coursework in music technology, poetry, literature, communications and business. This action research study examines the student’s experience and perspectives as he prepared to graduate in May 2018, as well as the researcher’s experience and perspectives as his advisor and teacher. It is hoped that this study will enable institutions to better serve future such students.

______________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT
The outskirt of Brasília has a voice. It echoes in the search for solutions to its problems from the criticism of everyday life through the rap's blunt rhymes. One of the bearers of this voice has a name: GOG. This research aims to analyze the songs literally from this which is one of the most respected and renowned Brazilian rappers in this cultural environment, including he is acclaimed as the poet of the National Rap. The work has as a main source the lyrics of the songs selected by him in his book The rhyme denounces, a sort of anthology with 48 letters of raps that address various phases of the artist, as well as videos and interviews available on his website and other sources. The specificity of the rap as a unique and innovative aesthetic (hybrid of singing with exploration of speech) allows us to identify a contemporary oral poetry that narrates with intensity the misfortunes and the desires of those who live in the outskirt ambience. However, a careful look at the lyrics shows that the universe goes far beyond the outskirt and the compositions are opposed to the center (the economic elite) with an acid speech, almost always manichean. The analyses are based on Paul Zumthor's theories on oral poetry, Luiz Tatit on popular song, Umberto Eco in the literary interpretation and Bakhtin considering the socio-historical and dialogic relationship between the subjects in the constitution of discourses. The intent is to demonstrate that the outskirt also writes poetry.

This research tried to understand how the civilizatory patrimony of the yorubas - known as "nagôs" in Brazil make it possible to constitute the afrodescendent identities with an emancipatory sense as they respect the freedom of the differences with the valorization of the social equality. The respect to diverseness is a fundamental value among the nagôs and the candomblé, one of the main receivers of its tradition, disseminates that value mainly through the yoruba mythology. This mythology is portrayed here as part of that civilizatory patrimony and encompasses, in persona of the orixás, the search for a society in which there is space for the diversity of human types, in an equalitarian way. To understand how the original inheritance of a piece of Africa makes it possible to constitute the afrodescendent identities with a emancipatory sense, a case study was done which involves the life history of Ilícito - a rapper who demonstrates in his music to share many of the present aspects of the African legacy being studied. Among them, it is the identification with the persona of the orixás, especially with Xangô. The plot around that orixá allows us to explore a little more the subject of the respect to alteration among the nagôs. We used the theoretical-methodological approach of Antonio da Costa Ciampa as the theoretical support for this research, in whose opinion identity is a metamorphosis process in search of human emancipation

Abstract:
In this thesis, I examine the ways in which a growing number of Indigenous artists in the United States and Canada are using hip hop not only as a form of artistic expression, but also to vent frustration about and to draw attention to contemporary issues affecting their communities. These artists participate in a tradition of politically conscious performance that has influenced and been influenced by Indigenous social movements across North America. Indigenous hip hop serves to affirm and redefine twenty-first century Indigenous identities, disrupting and reinterpreting stereotypical representations of Native Americans in a process which I describe as an “authenticity loop.” By utilizing artistic choices and strategic representations of indigeneity, the artists I examine have firmly established that they along with their communities are not remnants of the past, even as they maintain a continuity between previous generations and the present day.

Abstract:
Since its creation over two decades ago, French rap music has evolved to become both wildly popular and highly controversial. It has been the subject of legal debate because of its violent content, and accused of encouraging violent behavior. This thesis explores the French M.C.'s role as representative and reporter of the France's suburbs, la Banlieue, and contains analyses of French rap lyrics to determine the rappers' perception of Banlieue violence. Using the song lyrics, this work examines the conditions and causes of that violence as seen by the Banlieusard, and answers the critics' accusations that French rap is a call to violence.

Abstract:
Students learning design engineering at times need a good example of procedure for novel design engineering. The systematic heuristic-strategic use of a theory to guide the design process — Engineering Design Science — and methodical design process followed in this case study is only necessary in limited situations. The full procedure should be learned, such that the student can select appropriate parts for other applications. Creativity is usually characterized by a wide search for solutions, especially those that are innovative. The search can be helped by this systematic and methodical approach. This case example is presented to show application of the recommended method, and the expected scope of the output, with emphasis on the stages of conceptualizing. The case follows a novel design problem of a smoke gas dust precipitation process and the necessary technical system, including a sub-problem of a rapper for dust removal.
