Abstract:
In order to make an effective use of the recycled aggregate concrete (RAC), a total of six steel tube RAC columns and six basalt fiber (BF) reinforced RAC columns, including six columns that were externally strengthened with aramid fiber reinforced polymer (AFRP) sheets, were fabricated and tested. This were to provide a strengthening solution to upgrade the load carrying capacity, ductility and rigidity of the RAC filled steel tube columns. Besides, the recycled coarse aggregate (RCA) replacement ratios for production of RAC was analyzed. The results show that the load carrying capacity and ultimate displacements of the RAC filled ST columns could be improved greatly by adding of basalt fiber, especially for the specimens with 50% and 100% RCA replacement ratio. The similar result was also found for the specimens strengthened with AFRP reinforcement, along with the stiffness of the columns were enhanced obviously. Moreover, the highest improving on the load carrying capacity, stiffness and ultimate displacement was found in the specimens both reinforced by adding of BF and strengthening of AFRP. However, the failure modes of the specimens with BF reinforced RAC gave a higher deformability than the one with AFRP strengthening arrangement.

Abstract:
In order to investigate the influence of basalt fibers (BFs) on the mechanical performance of recycled aggregate concrete (RAC), some groups of RAC specimens were first tested involving different types of fibers such as carbon fibers, steel fibers, polypropylene fibers and hybrid fibers. The main four indices for the investigation consisted of cube compressive strengths, axial compressive strengths, splitting tensile strengths and Young’s modulus. The effects of fiber volume fractions on the RAC slumps were also discussed. Meanwhile, the mechanical properties and failure modes of the BF-reinforced RAC were compared with those of other fiber-reinforced RAC and common concrete (CC). Subsequently the optimal volume fractions of BFs were explored for different mechanical properties within the volume fraction range of 0–0.2%. The back propagation neural networks were further applied to predict and validate the optimal BF fractions. Lastly, the general strength formulas, as well as the elastic modulus formula, for BF-reinforced RAC were deducted based on the specimen test results. It is found that the addition of fibers may improve the failure modes of RAC and different fibers present positive or negative effects on the mechanical properties. The optimal volume fractions of BF with respect to the four mechanical indices are 0.1%, 0.15%, 0.1% and 0.2% respectively. The proposed strength and elastic modulus formulas of BF-reinforced RAC provide satisfactory predictions with the test results and thus can be used as a reference in practice.

Abstract:
Fiber polymer has been extensively used to improve the mechanical properties and durability of concrete. However, the studies of the effect of fiber polymer on the dynamic performance of recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) is still very limited. In this study, we prepared two types of RAC formulations: RAC reinforced with basalt fibers (BFs) and RAC reinforced with polypropylene fibers (PPs), and compared the effects of fiber types and contents on the air void content, workability (slump), mechanical properties (compressive and flexural strength), dynamic characteristics (dynamic modulus of elasticity and damping ratio), and chloride resistance of RAC. The experimental results showed that the air void content and slump value decreased with the increase of replacement percentage of RCA and fiber contents. Adding PPs provided a more negative effect on the slump of RAC than BFs. The mixtures containing 0.2% PPs and BFs both obtained the highest flexural strength. The addition of PPs was more effective than BFs in improving the damping ratio of RAC, and the mixtures containing 0.3% PPs and BFs both obtained the highest damping ratio. Compared to the RAC without addition of fiber, the charge passed of specimen with addition of PPs approximately increased by 45%, while the specimen with addition of BFs approximately increased by 30%, when the fiber content was 0.3%. This study demonstrates the potential of using fiber to promote the dynamic properties of RAC.

Abstract:

The precipitation is one of the factors which has a certain influence on ras el maa annual discharge. The second : we took the studies factors in relations with gensisflow. The drainage basin is very simple, it has two homogenous and different unities : 1-the limestone mountain. 2-the lower country with flysch. Every unity has its geological and geomorphological structure, in its relation with the channel network. The third : we studied her, temporal discontinuities to solve a wide range of hydrological problems is that of hydrographonalysis. We analized the hydrological phases for the determination of the hydrological regime on the ras el maa spring. The results give information about hydrological comportement, it depands on the climatical, geomorphological factors in the drainage basin. Abstract:

In the year 1751, after the first mining operations were nationalized, mining was continuously practiced in the Saarland coal basin until the year 2012. Since the late 18th century, the miners in the Saar region created many kinds of maps, to document the geology, the mineral deposit and all mining activities. Several thousand mining maps on very difficult drawing papers are keeping in many cupboards with much more drawers. After the extraction all the documents from the individual mines were merged into one site with the aim to create a dedicated room, were the documents can remain with an artful computer-system to locate the accomodated mining maps. Only by this way an optimal use of the archive arias for operating shedules or historical researches is henceforth possible. This article describes the planning phase from the basic evaluation about the development of a storage strategy, the civil engineering planning, the construction implementation as well as the conversion of the mining maps from the previous storage to the new location by using a special computerized mapfinder-system

Abstract:
During the opening of the Neotethys Ocean north of the Ghadames and Jeffara basin, an extensional phase created subsidence. It resulted in the deposition of the first syn-rift strata aged Middle to Upper Permian (El Watiah formation) and Lower to Middle Triassic (Bir el Jaja, Ouled Chebbi and Ras Hamia / Kirchaou formations). This study provides details of the stratigraphic and sequential architecture of triassic siliciclastic series and the upper clastic part of the El Watiah formation. 221 wells and 18 sedimentological field sections (outcrops from south Tunisia) have been correlated across the entire Ghadames basin and Jeffara. An organization in 11 sequences has been highlighted. 28 isochores and paleogeographic maps have been drawn. In terms of tectonostratigraphy, a major thickening of sequences has been confirmed toward the North of Jeffara, resulting from a very strong and differential subsidence. Low and subtle differential subsidence has been demonstrated in the southern part of the basin. In addition, a new sedimentological interpretation of the TAGI formation (lateral equivalent of the ladinian Ras Hamia formation) has been considered in the El Borma area

Abstract:

Abstract:
The development of a commercial high density (HD) SNP chip of 600,000 SNPs enabled the implementation of genomic selection in layer and broiler. However, genotyping costs with this tool still remain high for a routine use on the selection candidates. Concurrently, new sequencing technologies (NGS) allow to consider other solutions than SNP chip for genomic selection. One of the main goal of genomic selection is to develop less expensive tools for genotyping or sequencing the selection candidates. Then, from the HD genotypes of a reference population, it is possible with different imputation methods to deduce the HD genotypes of the candidates. Firstly, the aim was to investigate the impact of different factors concerning the development of low density SNPchips or the constitution of the reference population on imputation accuracy. The impact of the use or not of imputation on genomic evaluation was also studied. The results showed that an equidistant methodology, for a SNP density higher than 5K, is suitable to get good imputation accuracy and good genomic evaluation accuracy. For an SNP density higher than 5K, it is also possible to use low density SNP chips without imputation.Low density genotypes were then replaced by genotypes from simulated RAD-Seq methods. Depending on the restriction enzyme used, studies have shown that RAD-Seq methods could be an interesting alternative to low density SNP chips

Abstract:
AbstractRats are social animals. For example, rats exhibit mutual-reward preferences, preferring choice alternatives that yield a reward to themselves as well as to a conspecific, over alternatives that yield a reward only to themselves. We have recently hypothesized that such mutual-reward preferences might be the result of reinforcing properties of ultrasonic vocalizations (USVs) emitted by the conspecifics. USVs in rats serve as situation-dependent socio-affective signals with important communicative functions. To test this possibility, here, we trained rats to enter one of two compartments in a T-maze setting. Entering either compartment yielded identical food rewards as well as playback of pre-recorded USVs either in the 50-kHz range, which we expected to be appetitive or therefore a potential positive reinforcer, or in the 22-kHz range predicted to be aversive and therefore a potential negative reinforcer. In three separate experimental conditions, rats chose between compartments yielding either 50-kHz USVs versus a non-ultrasonic control stimulus (condition 1), 22-kHz USVs versus a non-ultrasonic control stimulus (condition 2), or 50-kHz versus 22-kHz USVs (condition 3). Results show that rats exhibit a transient preference for the 50-kHz USV playback over non-ultrasonic control stimuli, as well as an initial avoidance of 22-kHz USV relative to non-ultrasonic control stimuli on trend-level. As rats progressed within session through trials, and across sessions, these preferences diminished, in line with previous findings. These results support our hypothesis that USVs have transiently motivating reinforcing properties, putatively acquired through association processes, but also highlight that these motivating properties are context-dependent and modulatory, and might not act as primary reinforcers when presented in isolation. We conclude this article with a second part on a multilevel cognitive theory of rats’ action and action learning. The “cascade” approach assumes that rats’ cognitive representations of action may be multilevel. A basic physical level of action may be invested with higher levels of action that integrate emotional, motivational, and social significance. Learning in an experiment consists in the cognitive formation of multilevel action representations. Social action and interaction in particular are proposed to be cognitively modeled as multilevel. Our results have implications for understanding the structure of social cognition, and social learning, in animals and humans.

Abstract:
Thrombin and related proteases produce varying pharmacologic responses in animal models. To more specifically study the in vivo actions of thrombin and related proteases, we have used isolated tissue preparations of the rabbit aortic strip (RAS), isolated guinea pig ileum (GPI) and isolated rat uterus (RU). Standard tissue-agonist regimens include epinephrine, thromboxane B2 with RAS; bradykinin, acetylcholine, histamine and serotonin with GPI; and acetylcholine, bradykinin and angiotensin with RU. The smooth muscle modulant action of numerous proteinases were screened in these regimens by bracketing the median dose response of the individual agonists. Protease complexes such as serum (rabbit, human and guinea pig), activated and nonactivated prothrombin complex concentrates and pancreatin were shown to produce varying but similar contractile responses as obtained by the standard agonists. Sera produced a dose-dependent contraction of the RAS, GPI and RU preparations. Various forms of thrombin produced different degrees of contraction of RAS accompanied by a desensitization process. On a molar basis the order of contractile activity ranged α > β>γ > nitro > DIP. All thrombins were found to augment the epinephrine and thromboxane B2 induced contraction of the RAS. Bovine and human factor Xa produced marked dilatation of the RAS but did not have any effect on the GPI and RU preparations. These results suggest that proteases exert direct musculotropic actions on smooth muscles. This should be taken into consideration in the pathophysiology of vascular spasms.

Abstract:
A great deal of energy can be sourced both directly and indirectly from waste. For example, municipal waste with an energy content of around 60 petajoules is incinerated in Switzerland every year. The energy recovered directly from this waste covers around 4 % of the Swiss energy demand. However, the greatest potential offered by waste management lies in the recovery of secondary raw materials during the recycling process, thus indirectly avoiding the energy-intensive production of primary raw materials. In order to optimise the contribution to the energy turnaround made by waste management, as a first step, improvements need to be made with respect to the transparent documentation of material and cash flows, in particular. On the basis of this, prioritisation according to the energy efficiency of various recycling and disposal channels is required. Paper and cardboard as well as plastic have been identified as the waste fractions with the greatest potential for improvement. In the case of paper and cardboard, the large quantities involved result in considerable impact. With the exception of PET drinks bottles, plastic waste is often not separately collected and therefore offers substantial improvement potential. Significant optimisation potential has also been identified with regard to the energy efficiency of incineration plants. To allow municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) plants to use the heat they generate more effectively, however, consumers of the recovered steam and heat need to be located close by. A decisive success factor when transitioning towards an energy-efficient waste management system will be the cooperation between the many stakeholders of the federally organised sector. On the one hand, the sector needs to be increasingly organised along the value chains. On the other hand, however, there is also a need to utilise the freedom that comes with federal diversity in order to test different solutions.
