Abstract:

The goal of this diploma thesis is to verify the practical applicability of the Raspberry Pi platform in control applications. The work consists of choosing a suitable operating system and implementing a discrete PID algorithm. An important part of the work was the Linux OS modification and compilation. Measurement has demonstrated the usability of the platform in control applications. The result of this work is a discreet PID controller implemented as a Linux kernel module. The solution also includes a web interface as a human-machine interface.

Test benches are commonly used to simulate events to an embedded system for validation purposes. Microcontrollers can be used for making test benches and can be programmed with a bare-metal style, i.e. without an Operating System (OS), for simple cases. This is a report on the possibility of using a Raspberry Pi as an intrusion detection system in a home environment to increase network security. The focus of this study was on how well two different generations of Raspberry Pi would be able to handle network traffic while acting as an intrusion detection system. The master's thesis is about a communication element - a hardware module, its design and implementation. The communication is to be maintained between a Linux embedded device and the sensors elements, using the MiWi protocol. The task is part of the IoT project, developed at FIT BUT. Furthermore, the paper describes design of a driver for the module, its likely solution, as well as the very implementation. Finally, the obtained experience is discussed in a summary, along the next step options on how to proceed further with the driver development.

Master thesis deals with concept and realization of wireless measuring system, powered by battery. The system consists of two main parts. First part, the node, is designed for the lowest possible power consumption. This is achieved mainly by usage of microcontroller from the STM32 family. Gathered information is transfered via RFM69 module. Second part, the gateway, is powered by Linux operating system on Raspberry Pi. Data from the gateway proxy are propagated through MQTT into Home Assistant, which interprets the results.
