Abstract:

Situs inversus, uma alteração rara na qual os órgãos se desenvolvem no lado oposto de sua localização habitual, já foi relatada em diferentes espécies. Seu diagnóstico é baseado nos exames por imagem, sendo geralmente um achado ocasional. Diante da raridade da alteração, o objetivo foi descrever a ocorrência de Situs inversus totalis em um animal experimental, por meio de exame radiográfico e de necropsia. Uma rata albina Wistar, com 16 semanas, utilizada para estudo experimental independente, foi submetida à radiografia torácica e abdominal, sendo observada diferente disposição dos órgãos internos. Após o término do experimento, procedeu-se a necropsia do animal, em que foi observada a localização oposta à anatômica dos órgãos: fígado, baço, estômago, ceco, pulmão e coração, caracterizando Situs inversus totalis com dextrocardia.

Abstract:

<p>Las matrices de microelectrodos son dispositivos que permiten la detección de potenciales de acción o espigas en poblaciones de células excitables, ofreciendo varias aplicaciones en el campo de las neurociencias y la biología. Este trabajo muestra un protocolo para el registro de espigas en una población de células ganglionares retinales empleando una matriz de microelectrodos. La retina de una rata albina fue extraída y preparada para ser estimulada <em>in vitro </em>con luz led blanca, con el fin de registrar sus espigas evocadas ante estos estímulos. Cada microelectrodo puede registrar espigas de más de una célula ganglionar, razón por la cual se determinó a qué célula pertenece cada espiga aplicando un procedimiento conocido como “clasificación de espigas”. El trabajo permitió obtener el registro de un periodo de estimulación y otro de no estimulación, con el fin de representar los potenciales de acción evocados con luz y los espontáneos. Los registros fueron almacenados para visualizar las espigas de las células ganglionares y poder aplicar la herramienta de clasificación de espigas. De este modo, se almacenan los instantes de tiempo en los cuales cada célula ganglionar registrada generó potenciales de acción. Este trabajo conllevó al establecimiento de un protocolo de experimentación básico enfocado al uso de matrices MEA en el laboratorio de adquisición de potenciales extracelulares de la Universidad Antonio Nariño Sede Bogotá, no sólo para caracterizar los potenciales de acción de células ganglionares retinales, sino también para otro tipo de células que puedan ser estudiadas empleando matrices de microelectrodos.</p><p align="center"><strong>Recording of Electrical Activity in the Retina of an Albino Rat Employing a Microelectrode Array</strong></p><p>The microelectrode arrays (MEA) are devices that allow the detection of action potentials or spikes in populations of excitable cells, offering a wide spectrum of applications in topics of Neurosciences and Biology. This work describes a protocol for recording of spikes in a population of retinal ganglion cells employing a microelectrode array. The retina of an albino rat was dissected and prepared to be stimulated<em> in vitro </em>with white led light and to record their evoked spikes. Each microelectrode can record spikes from more than a ganglion cell, for which it was necessary to determine which cell fires each spike applying a procedure known as spike sorting. The work allowed to obtain the recording of a stimulation period and another of non-stimulation, representing evoked and spontaneous action potentials. The recordings were saved, in order to visualize the action potentials of the ganglion cells detected and to apply a computational method for the spike sorting. In this way, it was saved the time stamps in which each action potential was fired by its respective cell. This work established a basic experimentation protocol focused to the use of MEA devices in the laboratory for acquisition of extracellular potentials at the Antonio Nariño University – Bogota Headquarters, not only for characterization of action potentials fired by retinal ganglion cells populations, but also for other kind of cells that can be studied employing MEA devices.</p><p> </p>

Kota Ternate adalah pusat pelajar di Provinsi Maluku Utara. Beberapa kasus kekerasan dan pengedaran narkoba di Kota Ternate sangat meresahkan pihak orangtua dan sekolah. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan solusi bagi pihak sekolah dan pelajar dalam mencegah kekerasan dan penyebaran anrkoba dengan mengintegrasikan suatu model pengabdian GEN AKTIF dalam ekstrakurikuler. Dua sekolah model digunakan sebagai mitra yakni SMP IT Albina Ternate dan SMA Nurul Hasan Kota ternate. Pelaksanaan IbM dimulai dengan kegiatan sosialisasi Anti Narkoba berupa Olimpiade Anti Narkoba untuk pelajar SMA Sekota Ternate. Tahapan kedua ialah pendempingan mengenai GEN AKTIF dan penyuluhan anti narkoba, anti kekerasan dan anti aids. Pendampingan mengambil waktu selama empat bulan yang dilaksanakan disekolah masing-masing. Selanjutnya evaluasi oleh tim pengabdi. Semua rangkaian usulan tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan program IbM pelajar Kota Ternate dalam GEN AKTIF (Generasi anti kekerasan, narkoba dan zat adiktif). Rangkaian program melibatkan siswa secara langsung dalam mengelola kegiatan dan pembentukan model komunitas sekolah bernuansa anti kekerasan dan narkoba dikalangan pelajar. Akhir program, tim mendapatkan perubahan pengetahuan peserta baik dari SMP maupun SMA tentang narkoba, aids dan kekerasan, yakni : pengetahuan peserta SMA rata-rata meningkat dari 30% menjadi 67%; peserta SMP meningkat dari 22% menjadi 61% pada tes akhir. Respon peserta juga menyatakan bahwa 100% peserta senang dengan kegiatan ini, dan 93% peserta mendapat pengalalan baru dan bermanfaat bagi masa depan.

Abstract:

Objetivos: Evaluar el efecto vasodilatador, la inhibición de la vasoconstricción, así como el mecanismo responsable, del extractohidroalcohólico de hojas de Olea europaea (olivo), sobre anillos aórticos en ratas. Diseño: Experimental. Lugar: Centro de Investigacióny Desarrollo Científico, Facultad de Medicina, Universidad Nacional de San Agustín, Arequipa, Perú. Material biológico: Hojas de Oleaeuropea y anillos aórticos de Rattus norvegicus, variedad albina swiss. Intervenciones: Se obtuvo un extracto hidroalcohólico de lashojas de Olea europaea. Se usó anillos aórticos de rata en cámara de órganos aislados y se registró la actividad vasomotora conun transductor de tensión isométrica. Se produjo contracción basal máxima con CaCl2 6 mM y se determinó el efecto vasodilatadorcon dosis de 25, 50 y 100 mg/mL de extracto hidroalcohólico de las hojas de Olea europaea. Se usó 1H-[1,2,4] oxadiazolo [4,3-alquinoxalin-1-one] (ODQ) y nifedipino para determinar el mecanismo de acción. Se comparó la inhibición de la vasoconstricción trasla incubación durante 30 minutos con extracto 100 mg/mL y con captopril 10 µM. Principales medidas de resultados: Porcentaje devasodilatación y de vasoconstricción. Resultados: Se obtuvo una vasodilatación de 7,20 ± 1,49%, 9,84 ± 1,42% y 12,31 ± 1,16% paralas dosis de 25, 50 y 100 mg/mL, respectivamente, siendo significativa con la dosis de 100 mg/mL. La vasodilatación se incrementótras la administración de ODQ 100 mM. La vasodilatación se inhibió tras la incubación con ODQ 100 mM más nifedipino 5 µM. No seencontró diferencia significativa entre la inhibición de la vasoconstricción con captopril 10µM y extracto a 100 mg/mL. Conclusiones:El extracto hidroalcohólico de hojas de Olea europea, a una dosis de 100 mg/mL, tiene efecto vasodilatador sobre anillos aórticos deratas, mediado por el bloqueo de canales de calcio; además, posee efecto inhibidor de la vasoconstricción.

Pemijahan ikan Sumatera albino dilakukan di Loka Riset Budidaya Ikan Hias Air Tawar, Depok dengan menggunakan 10 pasang induk betina matang gonad berbobot 2,0—3,5 g, panjang total 3,5—5,7 cm, dipasangkan dengan induk jantan berbobot 1,8—3,5 g dan panjang total 4,0—5,6 cm. Wadah pemijahan adalah ember plastik volume 5 L yang diisi dengan air sumur 3,5 L dan diberi substrat tanaman air enceng gondok sebagai penempel telur-telurnya. Pasangan induk dimasukkan ke dalam ember sore hari sekitar pukul 15.00. Keesokan harinya sekitar pukul 08.30 setelah bertelur, pasangan induk diambil dan telur yang dihasilkan dihitung dan ditetaskan di tempat itu juga. Dari hasil pemijahan ini didapatkan jumlah telur rata-rata 754,8 butir/pasang induk dan daya tetas telur 79%. Setelah dipelihara selama 90 hari sintasan benih dari setiap pasang mencapai rata-rata 81,5% dengan ukuran panjang rata-rata 3,2 cm.

Abstract:

Suryashekhara Rasa is unique mercurial preparation, which contains Parada, Gandhaka, Hingula and Vatsanabha. The quantity of Vatsanabha is equal to the sum of other ingredients, and also its antidote (Tankana) is not mentioned in this formulation. To ensure that the drug is devoid of toxicity and harmful effects, assessing the level of toxicity is important. So, this research work is an attempt to perform acute and sub-acute toxicity evaluation of Suryashekhara Rasa. Acute toxicity study of test drug was carried at a limit dose of 2000mg/kg orally in albino mice. For sub-acute toxicity Suryashekhara rasa was adminis-tered at therapeutic equivalent dose (TED) (0.35mg/kg bw po), TED x 2 (0.70mg/kg bw po) TED x 5 (1.75 mg/kg bw po) for 28 days. Acute toxicity result showed that drug did not produce any signs and symptoms of toxicity or mortality up to an oral dose of 2000 mg/kg in albino mice. The data generated during sub-acute toxicity study are indicated that it is mild toxic substance for sub-acute administration at TED dose level, may be because of alkanes which are found in functional group of aconitum ferox.

Abstract:

Kingdom of Albania’s fascist regime considered education as one of the pillars of its policy in Kosovo and Metohija during World War II. With the aim of spreading and strengthening Albanian national identity and culture, several hundreds of educators were sent from the “Old Albania” to Kosovo and Metohija. The Italian occupation authorities were not supportive of the educational policy pursued by the officials in Tirana, which often resulted in disagreement between the two sides. After liberating the province in 1944, the Communist Party of Yugoslavia decided to keep the teachers and educators who misused their positions to serve the Greater Albania cause, as there was no available staff to replace them. The paper is based primarily on the unpublished sources from the Central State Archives of Albania in Tirana, the Diplomatic Archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Belgrade, the Archives of Serbia, and the Archives of Yugoslavia.

Abstract:

Mugdha Rasa is one type of Kharaliya Rasayana and comes under Nirgandha, Niragni Murchana of Parada. Parada and Khatika are the main ingredients of Mugdha Rasa. This investigation is an attempt to perform toxicological study of Mugdha Rasa. Acute toxicological study and sub-acute toxicological study were carried out as per OECD guideline 425 and 407 respectively. Oral acute toxicity study was carried out at the limit dose of 2000 mg/ kg orally in Swiss albino mice. Sub- acute toxicity study of Mugdha Rasa was carried out in Albino rats and it was administered at therapeutic equivalent dose (TED), TED ×2 and TED×5. No signs of toxicity and mortality were observed Mugdha Rasa in acute toxicity study. So, LD50 of Mugdha Rasa is greater than 2000 mg/kg body weight and Mugdha Rasa can be considered assafe on acute exposure. The data generated during sub-acute toxicity study are indicated that it is not a hazardous substance for sub-acute administration at TED dose level. Higher dose levels show mild changes in parameters.

Albania culture soundtrack entered too late. Sound columns newness brought in Albania in 2003. Edi Rama Rama will be remembered as the candidate who brought a unique innovation in the campaigns developed in Albania. Rama 2003 when running for reelection for mayor of Tirana, the Albanian song he chose as a soundtrack to the campaign, in which he revealed himself as the protagonist. Rama sang "Our Tirona", together with three boys of "WEST Side Family". Output of Edi Rama as a singer, with lyrics written by himself, starting with the string "Too much noise, too much noise" was completed and was launched with a video, the filming of which were realized in the most popular areas of Tirana, of center to the outskirts. This song not only became a hit in Albania in 2003, but also affected the Rama achieved victory in front of his former rival, the right-wing candidate, Spartak Ngjela.

Abstract:

Anemia merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan di Indonesia dengan prevalensi 21,7% (3.068.328 jiwa), Anemia dapat terjadi oleh bebagai faktor seperti faktor nutrisi , salah satu nutrisi yang dapat mengakibatkan anemia adalah kebiasaan minum teh. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsumsi tanin ekstrak daun teh hitam (camellia sinensis) dosis bertingkat terhadap prevelensi kejadian anemia yang ditinj au dari level Hb dan hematokrit pada mus musculus bablc albino . Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimental dengan desain penelitian post test only control group design. Dengan sampel sebanyak 24 ekor mencit dibagi dalam empat kelompok dengan dosis 0,504 ml , 1,016ml , 1,5ml selama empat belas hari. Darah di ambil melalui ekor mencit, pemeriksaan hemoglobin menggunakan Hb Sahli dan pemeriksaan hematokrit menggunakan centrifuge. Penelitian ini dilakukan di labor anatomi fisiologi dan L2 Dikti. Hasil analisis dat a menggunakan one way anova dan Uji LSD dengan derajat kepercayaan 95%. Dari data diketahui terdapat perbedaan rata - rata kadar hemoglobin dan hematocrit tiap kelompok. Rata - rata hemoglobin pada tiap kelompok adalah 11,41, pada kelompok P1: 9,38, P2: 7,65 dan P3: 6,70, sedangkan pada hematocrit kelompok kontrol 53,17, kelompok perlakuan P1: 47,75, P2: 43,91 dan P3: 40,29. Hasil uji dengan menggunakan one way anova, didapatkan ada pengaruh pemberian teh hitam terhadap kadar hemoglobin (p value= 0,00) dan hematocrit (p value 0,017). Terdapatnya pengaruh konsumsi tanin ekstrak daun teh hitam (camellia sinensis) dosis bertingkat terhadap prevelensi kejadian anemia yang ditinjau dari level Hemoglobin dan hematokrit pada mus musculus bablc albino. Disarankan kep ada pekonsumsi teh agar lebih memperhatikan dosis teh hitam dengan batas normal 2.7gr/hari, sehingga aman dikonsumsi

Abstract:

The effects of methanolic extract of Dracaena arborea on mean testicular weight, mean cauda epididymal sperm reserve, and testicular morphology were evaluated. A total of sixty mature male Sprague Dawley rats were divided into three equal groups. The first group (A) received distilled water while the other two groups (B and C) received orally the methanolic leaf extracts of Dracaena arborea in two doses (100 and 500 mg/kg, respectively) daily for 84 days. Following oral administration of the extract, mean testicular weight, mean cauda epididymal sperm reserve, and testicular morphology were determined on days 28, 42, 56, 70, and 84. The extract produced a significant and dose-dependent increase (P < 0.05) in the sperm number. There was also a significant increase (P < 0.05) in the mean testicular weights on days 70 and 84 of the extract administration. The testicular morphology remained unchanged while further testicular histology examination revealed increased spermatogenesis. It was concluded that the methanolic leaf extract of D. arborea has fertility enhancing properties.

Abstract:

El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo demostrar las propiedades estrogénicas del extracto hidroalcohólico de Medicago sativa L (alfalfa) en ratas albinas ovariectomizadas (OVX). Se utilizaron 48 ratas albinas Sprague Dawley, hembras, de 200 a 250 g, de 8 semanas de edad, de las cuales 40 fueron sometidas a extirpación quirúrgica de ambos ovarios siguiendo la técnica de ovariectomía bilateral por el flanco. Luego del post-operatorio se dividieron en seis grupos y se administró el extracto hidroalcohólico por vía oral bajo el siguiente esquema de trabajo: Grupo 1 control negativo: (OVX), vehículo del extracto 2mL/kg; Grupo 2 control positivo: (OVX), estradiol subcutáneo 3µg/kg; Grupo 3, 4 y 5: (OVX) más extracto a 100, 500 y 1000 mg/kg, respectivamente; y Grupo 6: No OVX, control del procedimiento quirúrgico (SHAM). El tratamiento duró 14 días y se evaluó el peso corporal, peso del útero, cambios del ciclo estral mediante frotis vaginal y análisis del perfil hormonal. Se observó aumento en el peso corporal, en el peso del útero, en los niveles del estradíol y cambios en la citología vaginal. Se concluye que el extracto hidroalcohólico de Medicago sativa L (alfalfa) presentó efecto estrogénico al modificar los parámetros evaluados.

Abstract:

Objetivo: Determinar los cambios histomorfológicos que ocurren en el tejido dentoalveolar de la mandíbula de una progenie de ratas albinas sometidas a dietas con diferentes concentraciones de riboflavina (B2) e iguales concentraciones de los demás nutrientes, durante el periodo de gestación y lactancia, hasta los 28 días de edad. Diseño: Estudio experimental y analítico. Lugar: Centro de Investigación de Bioquímica y Nutrición Alberto Guzmán Barrón, Facultad de Medicina, Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, Lima, Perú. Material biológico: Crías de ratas albinas Holtzman. Intervenciones: Se utilizó 60 crías de ratas, que fueron progenie de 16 ratas albinas Holtzman, conformándose 4 grupos con capacidad de reproducción y con diferentes requerimientos de riboflavina: Grupo A (100% de requerimiento de B2), Grupo B (50% de B2) Grupo C (25% de B2) y Grupo D (0% de B2). Las crías de cada grupo fueron sacrificadas a los 0, 7, 14, 21 y 28 días de nacimiento, y se sometió a estudios histológicos los tejidos dentoalveolares de 60 crías. Principales medidas de resultados: Alteraciones en la talla, peso corporal y el tejido dentoalveolar de las ratas crías. Resultados: Microscópicamente, el estudio reveló que la carencia total de riboflavina en la dieta materna (0% de B2) ocasiona en el tejido dentoalveolar de las crías cambios histomorfológicos, como pérdida de la polaridad nuclear, presencia de microvacuolas y áreas de pseudo-estratificación en ameloblastos y odontoblastos, disminución del número de células del tejido dentoalveolar, aparición de edema en predentina, disminución de las células activas en el caso de fibroblastos y cementoblastos, notable disminución y adelgazamiento de las fibras colágenas y reducción del grosor de las trabeculas óseas. Alteraciones similares pero en menor cuantía se halló en ratas con deficiencia de B2. Conclusiones: La carencia total de riboflavina (0%) en la dieta materna de las ratas durante la gestación y lactación provoca en el tejido dentoalveolar de las crías una cantidad y calidad menor de ameloblastos, odontoblastos, fibroblastos y cementoblastos; escasa cantidad de fibras colágenas y adelgazamiento del hueso alveolar.
