Applying the ratio-of-uniforms method for generating random variates results in very efficient, fast and easy to implement algorithms. However parameters for every particular type of density must be precalculated analytically. In this paper we show, that the ratio-of-uniforms method is also useful for the design of a black-box algorithm suitable for a large class of distributions, including all with log-concave densities. Using polygonal envelopes and squeezes results in an algorithm that is extremely fast. In opposition to any other ratio-of-uniforms algorithm the expected number of uniform r

In the second approach, no prior assumption about equilibria states of the wing is made. Kinematic nonlinearities due to curvature and inertia were retained in their exact form. T

In either direction of transmission, some of the frequency bands are not used for transmission. Earlier results show that minimizing interference by exploiting unused bands is usual for design TEQ. In this thesis, we also consider signal power in the objective function. The time domain equalizer (TEQ) is designed by maximizing signal to interference ratio. We will see that the incorporation of signal power will enhanc

碩士
逢甲大學
應用數學學系
104
Cost-effectiveness analysis is the most commonly used technique of economic appraisal in health care. It has been frequently applied in medicine, health policy and other fields. The average cost-effectiveness ratio is one of the most popular indices to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of an intervention. It presents the average cost of spending on the intervention per effectiveness. A key concern is how to assess an average cost-effectiveness ratio adjusted by related covariates. In this study, we propose a covariate adjustment method using seemingly unrelated reg

A certain temperature was maintained for a fixed time to allow the reactant particles to fully interact with each other until an appropriate intermediate formed. To form nano hydroxyapatite (HAp) powder, the desired crystalline phase was obtained as the crystal took shape during the cooling process. Through the control of different Ca/P molar rat

Sediment data is collected mainly in two ways, one is to obtain core samples, however it’s difficult and limited by the number of site-sample. The second way is the geo-acoustic inversion, which used data of chirp sonar system to inverse the geo-acous
