PT.

Abstract:
PT. XYZ is a pharmaceutical company that produces Amoxicillin. In managing its inventory, PT XYZ has not done a good plan to determine the size of raw material orders. The existence of these problems, a study was conducted with the aim of determining Amoxicillin raw material inventory planning to eliminate the accumulation of raw materials at future. The initial stage is forecasting using three methods, namely Linear Regression, Exponential Smoothing and Moving Average. Of the three forecasting methods, the Linear Regression method provides the smallest error accuracy. The chosen method of forecasting must be carried out in advance of verification test (Moving Range) to be used as a basis for planning future raw material requirements. Furthermore, calculations are carried out using the MRP method to determine the size of the order lot for each raw material and reduce the cost of saving. The lot size technique used includes Lot for Lot (LFL), Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), and Fixed Period Requirement (FPR). Of the three lot size techniques used, the LFL method provides the lowest total cost of inventory.

Abstract:
Kata Kunci: Material Requirements Planning (MRP), PT XYZ, Pail Cat, Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Period Order Quantity (POQ), Lot For Lot (LFL). ABSTRACT Inventory is a company asset that has an important role in business operations, so the company is important to conduct good inventory management, meaning that the company must be able to anticipate obstacles and challenges that exist in managing inventory to minimize the total cost to be incurred by the company. The problem that arises in the supply of raw materials in PT XYZ is that the company plans and controls raw materials based only on previous experiences and not based on established methods. Therefore, the purchase of raw materials is not in accordance with consumer demand. This often leads to excess or shortage of raw material stock. Mistakes in determining the amount of investment in inventories will reduce company profits. The availability of raw materials that are too large, will add to the burden of maintenance and storage costs in the warehouse, as well as the possibility of a decline in the quality of raw materials that can lead to reduced company profits. However, if the supply of raw materials is too little, it will result in obstruction of the production process, so that consumer demand is not fulfilled. The results of this study can conclude that the planning of raw material needs by the company method obtained a total cost of Rp 1,796,762,429, - while the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) method obtained a total cost of Rp 1,576,011,801, -. Then it can be concluded that there has been a decrease in the total cost of all raw materials by 12.28%. This proves that the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) method is more efficient than the PT. XYZ. Therefore, to get the minimum total cost, the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) method was applied in the February-June 2020 period so that a total cost of Rp 1,576,011,801 was obtained. KeyWords: Material Requirements Planning (MRP), PT XYZ, Pail Cat, Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Period Order Quantity (POQ), Lot for Lot (LFL).

This paper reviews the issue of selecting the compositions of ceramic masses for the production of ceramic blocks made out of technogenic raw materials of a coal series using the methods of mathematical planning. The possibility of replacing classic clay raw materials with non-traditional coal technogenic raw materials (screenings of heaps), which are formed during the processing of heaps with the aim of extracting coal, is considered. The reasons for the growing interest in this technogenic raw material were the reduction of the base of high-quality clay raw materials, the large number of accumulated heaps, as well as the need to reduce the cost of production of ceramic blocks.

The key factor behind raw mix design in the cement factory is the appropriate production planning, resulting in high-quality raw material. Quarry managers usually come up with uncertainty-related raw materials due to variations in chemical composition. These uncertainties required efficient planning in terms of useful insight into this problem. This research provides a detailed explanation of scenario analysis of raw materials used in cement manufacturing using Monte Carlo simulation (MCS) and indices. Scenario analysis is used to predict the possibility of best, worst and most likely cases of raw material’s quality. Whereas, Monte Carlo simulation is used to evaluate the inherent uncertainty associated with chemical composition values in order to analyze the impact of truly unpredictable scenarios. The predictive results help in decisions related to production planning, raw mix design optimization and increasing the probability of designing the best plan.

Abstract:
Production activities which are conducted by some companies still use a lot of material inventory that production activities can run smoothly, but this condition is not considered optimal because many sources in the plant, so the investment is only in use for material. Ordering a material is not supported by data appropriately in product demand, it will make inventory of raw materials can not be sure so that the material is sometimes a lot and sometimes run out. The use of labor and production facilities are not accordance with demand, finally the production activities are not effective and efficient. Resources owned by the company must to be known in detail, so that the company can use capabilities of existing resources optimally. Company to achieve product demand should know the productive capacity, so that the ability of the company’s production targets can be achieved optimally, by measuring standard time at work operations and determine performance rating for each operator. In determining the demand for the product the next period using the method of linear regression forecasting the number of types of product demand of 1278kg. Material requirements planning (MRP) orders can be made on day 7 of each month in accordance with the number of each type of raw material.

Mitra Setia Usaha has not applied standard methods in the planning and control of raw material needs. Determination of the amount of raw materials so far only based on the number of consumer orders. In the last 2 (two years) (October 2014 to September 2016), the company received a request of 5.050,000 meters, but the existing supply of cotton fabric was only 4,920,500 meters. One of the methods that can be applied in the CV. Loyal Business Partners is the Material Requirement Planning (MRP). By applying this MRP-Lot for for lot (LFL) method, CV. Mitra Setia Usaha able to reduce the cost incurred in the procurement of raw materials for one year which initially amounted to 104.328.000 rupiah to 93.817.673 rupiah and can even be reduced again to 83.306.995 rupiah using the method of Order Quantity Period (POQ)

Abstract:
This article reviews the evidence for planning behaviour in Middle Pleistocene hominids. It documents the way in which raw material procurement and tool production were structured during the Middle Pleistocene occupations of the Spanish sites of Sierra de Atapuerca, Torralba, Ambrona and Aridos. Differences in the use of raw materials for different kinds of tool or end-product allow inferences to be drawn about pre-Neanderthal intentionality and cognitive ability. The overall pattern of technological behaviour demonstrated by this study is far removed from the purely ‘opportunistic’ and can reasonably be described as involving both forethought and planning. The work is presented from a techno-economic perspective based on the differential use of raw material types present in the lithic assemblages of these sites, and the proximity of sources of these raw materials in the surrounding landscape.

Abstract:
Production planning is part of the operational management that is important in a company. By managing production planning properly, the production process in a company will be able to run better. PT X is a company that produces vehicle spareparts for private cars. The company runs make to order system to fulfill the production procss. In the make to order system, a new product will begin to be produced by the company if there is an order from the customer. In this system, a company has inventory i.e. raw material and work in process. The problem are PT X have lack of raw materials and the absence of lead time given by the company to customers about when a product will be sent. To overcome this problem, improvements are made to the existing production planning system. Improvements begin by changing the way raw materials are purchased. This is done by treating the system with order point. With this system, company will never experience a shortage of raw materials because when raw material below order point, company must immediately order new raw materials. Thus the production process will not be disturbed and can run smoothly. In determining when a product will be completed and sent to customers, a production planning system with DSS tools (decision support system) is made using Microsoft Excel tools. By using DSS, the system will automatically display when a product will be finished and when it can be sent to the customer, when to buy raw materials, and how much production order is. Accordingly, the company can provide certainty of information to customers when the products have been produced and shipped.

Inventories of raw materials is one of the most important elements in the company's operations are continuously must be obtained, processed and resold. The raw material is meant for the smooth running of production operations set. So, we need an optimum inventory levels to meet the needs of both the quantity, quality and time at a low cost. For that we need a system of planning and inventory control are best - well, that inventories of raw materials should be defined and calculated correctly and accurately in order to obtain a low total cost of inventory that can minimize the cost of production. Forecasting approach is expected to represent the number of actual demand in the coming period. Based on the number of requests of forecasting results can be determined raw material inventory control. By using EOQ then firms will be able to minimize the cost of raw material supplies of oil. Companies should pay attention to the order of recording historical data of oil, classification of costs - the cost of orders and storage costs, because such data is necessary to obtain optimal results inventory control. Abstract:
Abstract Plurigaussian simulation is a powerful and very effective technique for modelling subsurface rock type domain distribution and in-situ mining reserve analysis. Modelling of subsurface to reveal the rock type distribution plays a key role for raw material extraction planning and plant operations such as extraction, transportation and comminution strategies. Because, the raw material distribution defines the plant operations and final product quality (cement modulus). This study addresses the application of plurigaussian simulation technique to reveal the subsurface rock type distribution of a cement raw material deposit in Turkey. The rock type domains include the limestone, clayey limestone, marl and sandstone which are the basic four rock type classes effecting the cement modulus in the field. The simulation process is carried out using these four rock type data on a determined grid system. A series of tests are made for the validation of the plurigaussian simulation. As a result, the rock type distributions are presented as both 2D-3D graphics and tabulated. The limestone is found as a dominant rock type in the deposit. The marl – a natural clinker - is another widespread raw material in the field and is found interbedded with limestone across the study field. The unwanted sandstone existence exhibited a sparse distribution in reserve body. The results indicated that, the deposit can provide the required raw material for the plant, showing the localised rock type distribution. A detailed raw material extraction planning and scheduling may be made using the results of this study.

Full text
Abstract:
Stone tool assemblage variability is considered a reliable proxy measure of adaptive variability. Raw material richness, transport distances, and the character of transported technologies are thought to signal (1) variation in raw material selectivity based on material quality and abundance, (2) optimization of time and energy costs associated with procurement of stone from spatially dispersed sources, (3) planning depth that weaves raw material procurement forays into foraging activities, and (4) risk minimization that sees materials transported in quantities and forms that are energetically economical and least likely to fail. This paper dispenses with assumptions that raw material type and abundance play any role in the organization of mobility and raw material procurement strategies. Rather, a behaviorally neutral agent-based model is developed involving a forager engaged in a random walk within a uniform environment. Raw material procurement in the model is dependent only upon random encounters with stone sources and the amount of available space in the mobile toolkit. Simulated richness-sample size relationships, frequencies of raw material transfers as a function of distance from source, and both quantity-distance and reduction intensity-distance relationships are qualitatively similar to commonly observed archaeological patterns. In some archaeological cases it may be difficult to reject the neutral model. At best, failure to reject the neutral model may mean that intervening processes (e.g., depositional time-averaging) have erased high-frequency adaptive signals in the data. At worst, we may have to admit the possibility that Paleolithic behavioral adaptations were sometimes not responsive to differences between stone raw material types in the ways implied by current archaeological theory.

Abstract:
In this paper, we study an inventory system over an infinite planning horizon where a time-varying demand is satisfied by process cycles that consist of a production batch followed by a recovery batch. Our model considers three types of inventory—returned items, serviceable items, and raw material. Furthermore, our model considers two recovery channels—recovery into serviceable items and recovery into raw material. Serviceable items are thus sourced from two inputs—direct recovery and production from raw material. These raw materials can be salvaged from returned items, as well as bought from external sources whenever required. We propose an expression for the unit time total cost as well as a numerical method to find the optimal policy. The properties of the model are studied through numerical experiments, in particular, the feasible situations where hybrid policies are better than pure policies.

Abstract:
Cast concrete is very important in building physical buildings, both for the construction of houses, hotels, bridges, apartments and other physical buildings. The concrete cast material is the most chosen by the community in building buildings because it is easily formed according to the needs of construction and has a strong strength and is resistant to high temperatures. "Inventory is a component of material or finished product available in hand, waiting to be used or sold" (Groebner in Baroto, 2002: 52). Monitoring raw material inventory is a management function that is very important because inventory is a very large investment company, both in terms of value and future functions. So from that the company needs to implement planning regarding inventory control which estimates the accuracy between inputs into output and the accuracy of the quantity or volume of raw materials. In the real world there are many companies that have not noticed the importance of managing raw material inventories, this can be found in companies that experience excess raw materials in warehouses, as well as running out of raw materials. Monitoring inventory that is well implemented can trigger the success of a company in the production sector in a timely manner. In manufacturing companies often encountered a delay in the arrival of raw materials according to a predetermined schedule. This can create panic at the company's management if there is a stock out, where on the other hand the company must immediately fulfill the goods orders. Therefore, monitoring the availability of concrete cast materials is very important to support the smooth production and can avoid the vacuum of concrete cast material. If the availability of concrete cast raw materials does not monitor, it will cause difficulties in knowing whether or not there is still a concrete cast material to be produced. On this basis the author makes a monitoring system for the availability of concrete cast raw materials using the Market Basket Analysis method.

Abstract:
In the actual production of iron and steel enterprises, alloy element yield is difficult to predict because it changes with different materials, processes, etc. Then planning weights of raw materials can't be calculated accurately so as to influence raw material cost planning control. Taking raw material attributes, process parameters, and etc. of smelting stage as the influence factors, the prediction model of alloy element yield is built. In order to increase the model’s prediction accuracy, parameter optimization method for support vector regression (SVR) based on ant colony algorithm (ACO) is designed, which optimizes punish parameter, nuclear parameter and sensitive coefficient. The performance of the SVR algorithm with optimized parameters is compared with the grid search algorithm to verify that the former’s performance and efficiency are better. The prediction method of alloy element yield based on the above improved support vector regression is built, whose regression and generalization performance are better compare with BP neural network, so that the relationship between influence factors and the alloy element yield is established. It can predict alloy element yield accurately according to the actual process and provide methods for realizing lean production in iron and steel enterprises.

Abstract:
Urbanization is a global trend: Since 2007 more than 50% of the world’s population have been living in urban areas, and rates of urbanization are continuing to rise everywhere. This growth in urbanization has led to an increased demand for natural resources, in particular non-metallic minerals such as stones, sand and clay, which account for one third of the entire flow of materials. Generally, these materials are traded within regional markets. This close geographical link between the demand for building materials in urban areas and the material supply in the hinterland leads to massive interventions in the natural environment and landscape. These urban–rural linkages can be revealed by applying Material Flow Analysis (MFA) to the built environment in order to trace the flows of building materials. The objective of this paper is to present a method for quantifying regional material flows by considering the supply and demand of building materials. This will be applied to the Vietnamese case study area of Hanoi and its hinterland province Hoa Binh. The results indicate a consumption of almost 60% of the construction mineral reserves in total secured by planning in the hinterland province considering a period of 15 years. However, this does not allow for the general conclusion that raw materials are sufficiently available. The sand reservoirs are only sufficient for eight years and clay reserves are used up after four years. This increases the need to exploit further raw material reserves, which are becoming increasingly scarce and results in stronger interventions in nature In order to safeguard the hinterland from the negative impacts of urbanization, a new understanding of resource efficiency is needed—one that acknowledges both resource efficiency in the construction of urban structures and appropriate resource conservation in the provision of the raw materials from the hinterland. This will require the creation of new integrated planning approaches between urban and regional planning authorities. Regional MFA is one way of realising such an approach.

Abstract:
The primary research goal was to develop an algorithm for efficiently cutting quadrangular-shaped raw material into smaller quadrangular pieces; one that would reduce to a minimum the percentage of actual waste during the cutting process. The raw material that is the subject of this article is sponge, a material used widely in the furniture industry. Each raw material piece was sliced into smaller pieces for use in a specific product. The algorithm enables product manufacturing with minimal waste by defining a changeable length and a permanent width of the slice, along with the width and length of the product itself. The study suggests that the length of the raw material piece affects the percentage of the reduction. The manufacturer could control waste by pre-planning the length of the piece of spongy raw material. The reduction by waste of usable material before the study was 15%. After the conducted simulation, which tested the effectiveness of the algorithm, the percentage of unusable material decreased to 4% or less a year.

Abstract:
Correct planning is crucial for efficient production and best quality of products. The planning processes are commonly supported with computer solutions; however manual interactions are commonly needed, as sometimes the problems do not fit the general-purpose planning systems. The manual planning approach is time consuming and prone to errors. Solutions to automatize structured problems are needed. In this paper, we deal with material requirements planning for a specific problem, where a group of work orders for one product must be produced from the same batch of material. The presented problem is motivated by the steel-processing industry, where raw materials defined in a purchase order must be cut in order to satisfy the needs of the planned work order while also minimizing waste (leftover) and tardiness, if applicable. The specific requirements of the problem (i.e., restrictions of which work orders can be produced from a particular group of raw materials) does not fit the regular planning system used by the production company, therefore a case-specific solution was developed that can be generalized also to other similar cases. To solve this problem, we propose using the generalized bin-packing problem formulation which is described as an integer programming problem. An extension of the bin-packing problem formulation was developed based on: (i) variable bin sizes, (ii) consideration of time constraints and (iii) grouping of items/bins. The method presented in the article can be applied for small- to medium-sized problems as first verified by several examples of increasing complexity and later by an industrial case study.

Abstract:
The movement of rock raw materials from source to demand areas is carried out predominately with road and railway transport. The latter is less damaging to infrastructure, the environment and society and is cheaper for longer distances, but it is also less flexible and not widely used. The Lower Silesia region in southwestern Poland is an important producer of rock raw materials and the principal provider of igneous and metamorphic dimension stones and crushed rocks in the country. A multicriteria scoring scheme has been developed and applied to identify mines presently using road transport, that are predisposed to switch to or include a railway form of transport. Four criteria have been proposed, C1—distance to railway loading point, C2—annual production of rock raw material, C3—economic reserves, and C4—type of rock raw material. The scoring scheme (classification) was developed based on the results of descriptive statistics for mines presently using railway or combined road and railway forms of transport. Two scenarios were analyzed, one with equal weights (0.25) and the other with higher significance of C1 = 0.40 and C2 = 0.30, and lower significance of C3 = 0.20 and C4 = 0.10. In the result, 24 mines were identified and ranked in terms of their potential to introduce railway transport. The proposed methodology can be used universally for other regions and countries, and the results will be included in drawing up regional spatial development policies.

"Towards Sustainable Soil Stabilization in Peatlands: Secondary Raw Materials as an Alternative." Sustainability 13, no. 12 (June 14, 2021): 6726. http://dx.doi.org/10.3390/su13126726.

Abstract:
Implementation of construction works on weak (e.g., compressible, collapsible, expansive) soils such as peatlands often is limited by logistics of equipment and shortage of available and applicable materials. If preloading or floating roads on geogrid reinforcement or piled embankments cannot be implemented, then soil stabilization is needed. Sustainable soil stabilization in an environmentally friendly way is recommended instead of applying known conventional methods such as pure cementing or excavation and a single replacement of soils. Substitution of conventional material (cement) and primary raw material (lime) with secondary raw material (waste and byproducts from industries) corresponds to the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations, preserves resources, saves energy, and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. Besides traditional material usage, soil stabilization is achievable through various secondary raw materials (listed according to their groups and subgroups): 1. thermally treated waste products: 1.1. ashes from agriculture production; 1.2. ashes from energy production; 1.3. ashes from various manufacturing; 1.4. ashes from waste processing; 1.5. high carbon content pyrolysis products; 2. untreated waste and new products made from secondary raw materials: 2.1. waste from municipal waste biological treatment and landfills; 2.2. waste from industries; 3. new products made from secondary raw materials: 3.1. composite materials. Efficient solutions in environmental engineering may eliminate excessive amounts of waste and support innovation in the circular economy for sustainable future.
