Abstract: In the past, web development was primarily based on the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP, or Perl) and Java-based applications (Java EE, Spring). However, these stacks are made up of different programming languages and can be difficult for a single developer to understand. Advances in web technology over the last few years have allowed developers to participate in both the front-end and back-end processes of web applications. The main goal of this thesis was to explore the basic components of the very popular MREN stack. The MERN stack, which stands for MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js, allows developers to easily integrate web development in a single programming language called JavaScript.

Abstract:
The necessity of a positioning service for various ground handling assets is key to improving airport performance. Reported in this article is a system named “Ground Eye”, designed to be a test of a possible implementation of the independent LTE-based communication system and GNSS-based location services. The test campaign used a total of nine prototype devices for a period of one month at Gdańsk airport (Poland). The main goal of this demonstration was to verify the possibility of using the GNSS/LTE system as a fast-deployment option in the airport environment, as well as to evaluate its positioning and communication capabilities in conjunction with React.JS/Deck.GL/Node.JS dedicated application. The test campaign verified that even with simple processing and relatively simple single-frequency measurements, multi-constellation GNSS receivers, it is possible to obtain location with precision reaching better than 2.5 metres. This precision should be good enough for all ground handling operations at modern airports, without the need for additional fixed infrastructure.

Abstract:
Software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions are frequently used to create chatbots, giving users the option to interact with them via desktop computers, mobile phones, and tablets. To increase customer accessibility, a chatbot is being developed for customers. The user can choose their own convenient language because the device offers text or audio support. This project's goal was to develop a chatbot for the Shopprite Shopping Mall. The chatbot's goal is to converse with the client in a clever, accurate, and timely manner using natural language processing. Customers can use this feature to communicate with the bot and ask questions about specific things they want to buy and the price before visiting the mall.Customers can access the chatbot from portable mobile devices or laptops at any time, making it possible to offer a round-the-clock online service. The discomfort customers feel when they visit the Shopprite shopping mall to look for things only to discover that they are either unavailable or out of stock will be lessened by the results of this study. The following methodologies were used to carry out the work: React.js to create the chatbot's front-end and admin login page; Spacy and React.ai to train the chatbot's NLP section andE-commerce datasets for the chatbot and MySQL to manage and create the data structure that will house the e-commerce datasets. It is recommended that new capabilities be added to the chatbot, such as the delivery of purchased things to a customer's home, more training phrases to give the chatbot a better social outlook, automated item addition to the chatbot database, and even adding a barcode reader option. Testing the chatbot using a bigger dataset would also be helpful.

Abstract:
A low-cost, open-source peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading system for a remote community is presented in this paper. As a result of its geographic location, this community has never been able to access electricity and other modern amenities. This study aims to design and implement a P2P energy trading system for this remote community that allows residents to take advantage of distributed energy resources. A Raspberry Pi 4 Model B (Pi4B) hosts the main server of the trading system that includes the user interface and a local Ethereum blockchain server. The Ethereum blockchain is used to deploy smart contracts. The Internet-of-Things (IoT) servers run on ESP32 microcontrollers. Sensors and actuators connected to the ESP32 are field instrumentation devices that facilitate acquiring, monitoring, and transferring energy data in real-time. To perform trading activities, React.JS open-source library was used to develop the blockchain-enabled user interface. An immutable blockchain network keeps track of all transactions. The proposed system runs on a local Wi-Fi network with restricted authorization for system security. Other security measures such as login credentials, private key, firewall, and secret recovery phrases are also considered for information security and data integrity. A Hypertext Transfer Protocol is implemented for communication between the servers and the client. This explains the overall system design, implementation, testing, and results.

Abstract:
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, the need for a better health care facility is highlighted more than ever. Besides physical health, mental health conditions have become a significant concern. Unfortunately, there are few opportunities for people to receive mental health care. There are inadequate facilities for seeking mental health support even in big cities, let alone remote areas. This paper presents the structure and implementation procedures for a mental health support system combining technology and professionals. The system is a web platform where mental health seekers can register and use functionalities like NLP-based chatbot for personality assessment, chatting with like-minded people, and one-to-one video conferencing with a mental health professional. The video calling feature of the system has emotion detection capabilities using computer vision. The system also includes downloadable prescription facilities and a payment gateway for secure transactions. From a technological aspect, the conversational NLP-based chatbot and computer vision-powered video calling are the system’s most important features. The system has a documentation facility to analyze the mental health condition over time. The web platform is built using React.js for the frontend and Express.js for the backend. MongoDB is used as the database of the platform. The NLP chatbot is built on a three-layered deep neural network model that is programmed in the Python language and uses the NLTK, TensorFlow, and Keras sequential API. Video conference is one of the most important features of the platform. To create the video calling feature, Express.js, Socket.io, and Socket.io-client have been used. The emotion detection feature is implemented on video conferences using computer vision, Haar Cascade, and TensorFlow. All the implemented features are tested and work fine. The targeted users for the platform are teenagers, youth, and the middle-aged population. Mental health-seeking is still considered taboo in some societies today. Apart from basic established facilities, this social dilemma of undergoing treatment for mental health is causing severe damage to individuals. A solution to this problem can be a remote platform for mental health support. With this goal in mind, this system is designed to provide mental health support to people remotely from anywhere worldwide.

Abstract:
Zirconium alloys, are usually used as fuel cladding materials in VVER (water-cooled, water-moderated energy reactor) type reactors, mainly, due to their low neutron absorption cross-section, desirable mechanical properties, and good corrosion resistance under reactor operating conditions. During exposure to water at high temperature, water reacts with zirconium alloys, which results in the production of an oxide layer. The entire area of corrosion along with the accompanying absorption of hydrogen in the zirconium metal matrix has attracted a lot of attention when the performance of the core components as well as the operation of the reactor is emphasized. The growth of the zirconium oxide layer plays a destructive role in decreasing thermal efficiency of the reactor by restricting the inlet temperature and chemical properties of the coolant. The present study aimed to develop a computer code to predict long-term water side corrosion weight gain, oxide thickness and determine the concentration of absorbed hydrogen in VVER-1000 reactors during normal operating conditions. The proposed model can be utilized to estimate the pre-transition and post-transition corrosion weight gain and the oxide thickness in operating conditions.

Chemical-looping with oxygen uncoupling (CLOU) is a novel combustion technology with inherent separation of carbon dioxide. The process is a three-step process which utilizes a circulating oxygen carrier to transfer oxygen from the combustion air to the fuel. The process utilizes two interconnected fluidized bed reactors, an air reactor and a fuel reactor. In the fuel reactor, the metal oxide decomposes with the release of gas phase oxygen (step 1), which reacts directly with the fuel through normal combustion (step 2). The reduced oxygen carrier is then transported to the air reactor where it reacts with the oxygen in the air (step 3). The outlet from the fuel reactor consists of only CO2 and H2O, and pure carbon dioxide can be obtained by simple condensation of the steam. This paper gives an overview of the research conducted around the CLOU process, including (i) a thermodynamic evaluation, (ii) a complete review of tested oxygen carriers, (iii) review of kinetic data of reduction and oxidation, and (iv) evaluation of design criteria. From the tests of various fuels in continuous chemical-looping units utilizing CLOU materials, it can be established that almost full conversion of the fuel can be obtained for gaseous, liquid, and solid fuels.

Abstract:
Carbon dioxide electroreduction (CO2R) is being actively studied as a promising route to convert carbon emissions to valuable chemicals and fuels. However, the fraction of input CO2 that is productively reduced has typically been very low, <2% for multicarbon products; the balance reacts with hydroxide to form carbonate in both alkaline and neutral reactors. Acidic electrolytes would overcome this limitation, but hydrogen evolution has hitherto dominated under those conditions. We report that concentrating potassium cations in the vicinity of electrochemically active sites accelerates CO2 activation to enable efficient CO2R in acid. We achieve CO2R on copper at pH <1 with a single-pass CO2 utilization of 77%, including a conversion efficiency of 50% toward multicarbon products (ethylene, ethanol, and 1-propanol) at a current density of 1.2 amperes per square centimeter and a full-cell voltage of 4.2 volts.

Abstract:
Lead contaminated wastewater negatively impacts to living organisms as well as humans. In recent years, a highly promising biological process using the anaerobic production of sulfide ions by sulfate-reducing bacteria has presented itself as an alternative option for the removal of lead. This process is based on microbial utilization of electron donors, such as organic compounds (carbon sources), and sulfate as the terminal electron acceptor for sulfide production. The biogenic hydrogen sulfide reacts with dissolved heavy metals to form insoluble metal sulfide precipitates Removal of lead by an enriched consortium of sulfate-reducing bacteria (DM10) was evaluated sulfate reduction, sulfide production and lead precipitation. Four parallel anaerobic continuous stirred tank reactors (CSTR, V = 2L) (referred as R1 - R4) were fed with synthetic wastewater containing Pb2+ in the concentrations of 0, 100, 150 and 200 mg L-1 of lead and operated with a hydraulic retention time of 5 days for 40 days. The loading rates of each metal in R1- R4 were 0, 20, 30 and 40 mg L-1 d-1, respectively. The results showed that there was no inhibition of SRB growth and that lead removal efficiencies of 99-100% for Pb2+ were achieved in R2 (100 mg L-1) and R3 (150 mg L-1) throughout the experiment. For the highest lead concentration of 200 mg L-1, a decrease in efficiency of removal (from 100 to 96%) was observed at the end of the experiment. The obtained result of this study might help for a better control operation and performance improvements of reactors.

Transitioning to High Assay Low Enriched Uranium-fueled reactors will alter the material requirements of the current nuclear fuel cycle, in terms of the mass of enriched uranium and Separative Work Unit capacity. This work simulates multiple fuel cycle scenarios using Cyclus to compare how the type of the advanced reactor deployed and the energy growth demand affect the material requirements of the transition to High Assay Low Enriched Uranium-fueled reactors. Fuel cycle scenarios considered include the current fleet of Light Water Reactors in the U.S. as well as a no-growth and a 1% growth transition to either the Ultra Safe Nuclear Corporation Micro Modular Reactor or the X-energy Xe-100 reactor from the current fleet of U.S. Light Water Reactors. This work explored parameters of interest including the number of advanced reactors deployed, the mass of enriched uranium sent to the reactors, and the Separative Work Unit capacity required to enrich natural uranium for the reactors. Deploying Micro Modular Reactors requires a higher average mass and Separative Work Unit capacity than deploying Xe-100 reactors, and a lower enriched uranium mass and a higher Separative Work Unity capacity than required to fuel Light Water Reactors before the transition. Fueling Xe-100 reactors requires less enriched uranium and Separative Work Unit capacity than fueling Light Water Reactors before the transition.

Abstract:
BAYER A.G. in Germany developed the “HUMID OXIDATION PROCESS” to reduce SO2 emissions which was first implanted industrially in their factory at Uerdingen in 1981. From that time the plant has operated successfully complying to German environmental law requirements. The unit to be installed in TIBRÁS consists of six reactors supplied with activated carbon beds which will remove the SO2 (0.11 volume percent) contained in the residual gases (150,000 cubic meters per hour) produced in three rotary calciner kilns. The SO2 reacts with water in the carbon pores forming diluted sulfuric acid. The activated carbon is fabricated from coke from peat. The “Weak Acid” of approximately 10 to 15 per-cent H2SO4 concentration is reused in the titanium dioxide pigment process. The project will be concluded by December 1993 and will start up in January 1994. The realization of this investment of approximately US$8,500,000 (eight and one half million dollars) will reduce TIBRÁS SO2 emissions by 50 (fifty) to 85 (eighty-five) per-cent in addition to eliminating two stacks.

Abstract:
Abstract Horseradish peroxidase, once activated by hydrogen peroxide, initiates the oxidation of a wide variety of aromatic compounds. The products of this reaction undergo a non-enzymatic polymerization to form water insoluble aggregates which are easily separated from solution. This process shows great promise for removing aromatic compounds from industrial wastewaters which are not efficiently removed through conventional treatment methods. The capability of solubilized horseradish peroxidase in catalyzing the precipitation of phenols from solution in batch reactors is discussed. Studies have been conducted on the biological sulfate reduction process to remove metals from synthetic and actual industrial wastewaters. Under anaerobic conditions, bacteria of the genera Desulfovibrio and Desulfotomaculum produce hydrogen sulfide which reacts with metals to form metal sulfide precipitates. An anaerobic upflow fixed-film reactor with continuous flow was used to treat actual wastewater from a plating plant supplemented with lactate. The results indicate that soluble metals can be precipitated at efficiencies of up to 99%. The rates of organic conversion, sulfate reduction and metal removal have been found to be dependent on the hydraulic retention time.

Abstract:
Internal Circulation (IC) reactors can be operated at higher reactor volume loading rates than Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB) reactors. This results in increased gas production rates and subsequently higher average shear rates in IC-reactors. Furthermore, the liquid upflow velocity is 8-20 times higher, still granules develop successfully in IC-reactors. To investigate the granule development in IC-reactors and elucidate the process limitations with respect to granule development and biomass retention, granule samples from three full scale IC-reactors are characterized. Characterization included size distribution, strength, settling velocity, density, ash content and methanogenic activity. Granules were compared with samples from UASB reactors treating similar types of wastewaters. A hydrodynamic model was developed to describe the liquid circulation in IC reactors. The average shear rate in IC reactors is approximately twice as high compared to UASB-reactors. The two stage design of the IC-reactor allows 3-6 times higher loading rate. The experimental results showed that IC-granules are larger than UASB-granules grown on similar wastewater, while the strength of IC-granules is lower as a result of the higher sludge loading rate. Although wash-out is slightly enhanced in IC-reactors, the conditions in the second stage are tranquil enough to ensure adequate biomass retention in IC-reactors. The development of characteristic IC-granules after seeding proceeds within a few months. Physical characteristics of granules are determined mainly by biological factors.

AbstractNowadays, the operating nuclear reactors are able to utilise only 1 % of mined out uranium. An effective exploitation of uranium, even 60 %, is possible to achieve in so-called fast reactors. These reactors commercial operation is expected after the year 2035. Several design configurations of these reactors exist. Fast reactors rank among the so-called Generation IV reactors. Helium-cooled reactor, as a gas-cooled fast reactor, is one of them. Exchangers used to a heat transfer from a reactor active zone (i.e. heat exchangers) are an important part of fast reactors. Five hundred out of 732 heads of cattle in twenty selected birds in Zaria and its environs, were screened for tuberculosis using the single caudal fold (SCF) tuberculin test. Fifty nine (11.8%) beads of cattle were detected to be reactors, while 43 (8.6%) and 398 (79.6%) were suspects and non-reactors respectively. Only one herd had no reactors nor suspects. Amongst reactors, the incidence increased with age, with 6.9% reactors in 0-1 year age group; while those over 5 years old had 28 (20.9%) reactors. The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05;x2) Management system had an effect on the incidence of tuberculin test reactors with purely nomadic animals showing a greater number of reactors (72.88%) than intensively (0.0%) and semi-intensively (27.12%) managed farms, Sex had no effect on reactor rates as 13(11.4%) of 114 males and 46 (11.9%) of 386 females were reactors. The difference was not statistically significant(P<0.05;x2). It is therefore concluded that cattle in nomadic Fulani herds harbour Mycobacteria which serve as a potential source of tuberculosis to man and other animals.

Abstract:
Accumulation of plutonium extracted from the spent nuclear fuel (SNF) of light water reactors is one of the central problems in nuclear power. To reduce out-of-the-reactor Pu inventory, leading nuclear power countries (France, Japan) use plutonium in light water power reactors in the form of MOX fuel, with half of Pu fissioning in this fuel. The rest of Pu cannot be reused easily and efficiently in light water reactors because of the high content of even isotopes. Plutonium for which there are no potential consumers is accumulated. Unlike thermal reactors, fast reactors take plutonium of any isotopic composition. That makes it possible to improve plutonium isotopic composition and to reduce the fraction of even isotopes to the level that allows reuse of such plutonium in thermal reactors. The idea of changing the isotopic composition of Pu in fast reactors is well-known. The originality of the research lies in applying this idea to combine the fuel cycles of fast and thermal reactors. Pu isotopic composition can be improved by combining certain operational activities in order to supply fuel to thermal and fast reactors. Scientific and technological justification of the possibility will let Russian BN technologies and French MOX fuel technologies work in synergy with thermal reactors.

Abstract:
In our previous papers we have demonstrated that biofilm structure never reaches a steady state in biofilm reactors; in this paper we link this fact to biofilm detachment and to the oscillating pattern of biofilm accumulation. In one respect reactors supporting suspended microbial growth and reactors supporting attached microbial growth (biofilms) are similar: in both the biomass accumulates in the reactor and is disposed of with the effluent. However, while in reactors with suspended microbial growth biomass accumulation and disposal occur simultaneously, in biofilm reactors these two processes are separated in time. Biomass accumulation in biofilm reactors shows a distinct pattern composed of three phases: (1) growth, (2) detachment, (3) regrowth. Despite this distinct pattern of biofilm accumulation observed at the microscale, biofilm reactors do reach a steady state of substrate removal.

Abstract:
Existing thermal reactors are energy production scale limited because of low portion of raw uranium usage. Fast reactors are limited by reprocessing need of huge mass of raw uranium at the initial stage of development. The possibility of development of thermal reactors with high fission materials reproduction, which solves the problem, is discussed here. Neutron losses are decreased, uranium-thorium fuel with artificial fission materials equilibrium regime is used, additional in-core and out-core neutron sources are used for supplying of high fission materials reproduction. Liquid salt reactors can use dynamic loading regime for this purpose. Preferable construction is channel type reactor with heavy water moderator. Good materials for fuel element shells and channel walls are zirconium alloys enriched by90Zr. Water cooled reactors with usage 12% of raw uranium and liquid metal cooled reactors with usage 25% of raw uranium are discussed. Reactors with additional neutron sources obtain full usage of raw uranium with small additional energy expenses. On the base of thermal reactors with high fission materials reproduction world atomic power engineering development supplying higher power and requiring smaller speed of raw uranium mining, than in the variant with fast reactors, is possible.

Objective: to exam the impact of the gass relative humidity on the dielectric barrier discharge. Method: high voltage AC power supply and wire-cylinder reactors are used to observe the discharge characteristics of empty reactors and reactors with the ceramic filler respectively under different relative humidity circumstances. Results: in the empty reactors, the discharge current decreases with the increase of the gas relative humidity; in the reactors with ceramic filler, with the increase of the gas relative humidity, the discharge current first decreases slowly and then increases immensely. Conclusion: Relative humidity has a significant impact on gas discharge. By comparing the experimental results of the two groups, the conclusion is: when RH< 47%, the discharge current of the empty reactors is greater than that of the reactors with ceramic filler, and when RH > 47%,the result is just the opposite.

Abstract:
The treatment of sewage at a temperature of 13°C was investigated in three reactors (each 3.84 litre) a UASB and two anaerobic hybrid (AH) reactors with small sludge granules with an average diameter of 0.73 mm. The media used in the AH reactors were vertical polyurethane foam sheets. The reactors were operated at a HRT of 8 h. The use of small sludge granules and operating the reactors at low upflow velocity (1.8 m/d) improved suspended COD removal efficiencies for the UASB reactor. Moreover, the use of sheets in the AH reactors significantly increased suspended COD removal efficiencies as compared to the UASB and reached to 87% for pre-settled sewage treatment. The treatment of pre-settled sewage instead of raw sewage in AH reactors significantly increased colloidal and dissolved COD removal efficiencies with 13% and 12% respectively and colloidal COD removal efficiency for the UASB reactor with 13%. At ‘steady state’ for pre-settled sewage treatment, the AH reactors removed 64% of the total COD which is significantly higher by 4% than the UASB reactor. Therefore, the anaerobic treatment of domestic sewage at low temperature can be improved by treating pre-settled sewage in shallow AH reactors containing small sludge granules.

Distributed Flexible Alternating Current Transmission System (DFACTS) devices are devices that are connected in series to the transmission line and even adding reactance. Devices, also referred to as Distributed Serial Reactors (DSR), have the ability correct impedance imbalance by interfering with line parameters in the power system. In addition, voltage balancing as a result of balanced load flow enables more power transmission or more efficient use of the power system's transmission capability. For this reason, the use of the system to control its loadability without expanding its dimensions is becoming more and more widespread. In this study, the effects of DSR devices on system loadability and voltage stability and their applicability are analyzed. The analysis was carried out on the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 6-bus Standard system using the Power World Simulator Program. The effects of DSR on the system were investigated by performing load flow.

Abstract:
In this paper, the compatible solute betaine is investigated for its antagonistic effects toward sodium toxicity in anaerobic methanogenic systems. Concentrations of betaine as low as 1 mM are shown to be effective at reducing the toxicity symptoms of high concentrations of sodium in the following anaerobic reactor systems: batch reactors seeded with a Methanosarcina enriched culture and batch reactors seeded with a Methanothrix culture, where the acclimation time or lag time before methane production begins is reduced significantly; CSTRs, where the acetic acid uptake rate increases dramatically; fluidized bed reactors, where gas production and pH increase and effluent COD and volatile acid concentration decrease; and UASB reactors, where gas production increases markedly. Because the phenomenon of sodium toxicity antagonism by betaine was demonstrated in anaerobic batch reactors, CSTRs, fluidized bed reactors, and UASB reactors, the usefulness of betaine in an industrial application may be feasible.
