Abstract:
High work consumption in forest operations is above all the result of the character and task realization mode in works undertaken in forestry. Development of mechanization in forest management activities allows to considerably decrease manpower needs. In the present study, there were analyzed the possibilities of reduction of work consumption by improving the mechanization level of forest works. The method was developed to consider the following assessments: 1) variant W1 – basic option comprising factual work consumption values in works carried out on the area administered by the Regional Directorate of State Forests (RDLP); 2) W2 – showing the effect of 25% upgrade of works to a higher level of mechanization; 3) W3 – showing the effect of 50% upgrade of works to a higher level of mechanization; 4) W4 – comprising analogous calculations to those in variant W1 , but work consumption upgrading was 75%. Simulation calculations revealed considerable differences in needs for labor of different categories of forest workers. On the other hand, with increasing mechanization level, there increase the demands concerning worker qualifications, e.g. a harvester operator must be trained for about 2 years, and the training has to include both simulator exercises (first using software and next – harvester simulator) and field work under supervision to gain sufficient experience. The introduction of higher levels of mechanization into forest operations, and hence considerable reduction of jobs for unqualified workers who are replaced by qualified employees, can help decreasing work consumption in forest operations.

The aim of the work was to analyse the provisions included in the Specifications of the Essential Terms of Contract in tenders for forestry works. The subject of the analysis was tender documentation of a selected Regional Directorate of State Forests. An attention was given to a number of inconsistencies, and non-specific and unjustified requirements. The presence of significant differences in the manner of defining requirements in the examined forest districts was emphasised. In opinion of the authors, the differences observed are unjustified and without any doubt impede the creation of tender documentation by representatives of forestry work companies. The summary of the analysis consists of, among others, a few guidelines on the manner of defining the requirements for forestry work companies and the need to unify the SIWZ provisions at the level of Regional Directorate of State Forests.

Abstract:
Eco-product value realization and eco-industry are in a rapid development stage, but the eco-product value realization mechanism is still unclear. Strengthening research on eco-industry and eco-product value realization not only helps to coordinate the relationship between regional ecologies and the economy but also contributes to regional sustainable development. This study conducted a systematic literature review based on related articles retrieved from the Web of Science database and China National Knowledge Infrastructure database. The results showed the following: (1) Regarding time series, the average annual number of published works in the literature from 2000 to 2017 is less than 4, while the average annual number of published works in the literature from 2018 to 2022 is more than 97. The overall study on eco-product value realization and eco-industry has shown a year-on-year growth trend. (2) The research content primarily involves five aspects, including the connotation and extension of eco-products, eco-product supply, eco-product value accounting, eco-product value realization, and eco-industry. (3) It is essential to deepen the study on the improvement mechanism of the eco-product supply capacity, eco-products property rights, evaluation system for eco-product value realization, ecological compensation mechanism, driving mechanism for eco-products to eco-industry, and coupled development of ecological restoration and eco-industry. Based on the above research, this paper presents an enlightment of the forest ecosystem services in the karst ecological restoration area from three aspects: enhancing the supply ability of eco-products, improving the compensation mechanism of forest ecological services, and coordinating the development of ecosystem services and eco-industries.

Abstract:
Sustainable forest management may be considered an evolutionary step beyond sustained yield management. Although objectives related to sustainable forest management are common in Canada, policy means of achieving these objectives are rarely spelled out. Currently, forest tenure policies are dominated by concepts associated with sustained yield that may preclude the realization of sustainable forest management objectives. This paper identifies how tenure policies based on sustained yield concepts of allowable annual cuts could change in order to address a more holistic view of forests associated with sustainable forest management. Abstract:
Investigations so far on the suitability of poplars for biomass production in short rotation periods in Germany were conducted almost exclusively with clones conceived for conventional cultivation. To introduce improved plant material, a special breeding program was implemented in Hann. Münden. It takes into consideration the most important criteria of suitability for the new form of land utilization. A report is given on findings so far from the realization of this program. Comprehensive basic plant material is available for European, North American and East Asian species from the sections Aigeiros, Leuce and Tacamahaca. Interspecific crossings are being carried out mainly in order to make the best possible use of combination and heterosis effects. A period of at least 20 years is necessary to develop new cultivars with high yield performance and yield stability. First results are presented on hybrids of species which are site-tolerant, resistant and particularly fast-growing at the juvenile phase. Plans to produce multiclonal varieties, each with 5 to 10 suitable clones with the same growing rhythm are in place. Special cultivation recommendations advocate clonal mixtures for each of the most important site units and for different rotation periods of from 2 to 5, 6 to 10 and more than 10 years. Key words: poplar, breeding, biomass, short rotation

The article is devoted to the development of an integrated modeling of the wood cluster through the example of the Tomsk region in order to effectively introduce technologies for solving the problem of wood waste and ensure the sustainable development (SD) of the industry as a whole. In this article, based on the results of works [1, 2] and the need to develop a circular economy strategy (CE), are conducted 1) the modeling of the technology selection process, 2) the selection of indicators for assessing effectiveness and 3) the modeling of the CE technologies introduction through the example of the forestry park «Asinovsky». This paper shows the existence of many ways to achieve goals of CE and actors (stakeholders), whose interests may not be agreed upon and often may contradict each other. CE approach should include in the focus of the wood industry 1) environmental and social indicators for achieving SD goals and 2) territorial features of the forestry activity. As a result, a procedure (method) for technology selection of wood waste realization and their application in the wood cluster is proposed. Considering practical experience allows a deeper understanding of the problems and to verify the study conclusions

Kruger, Marieke, and Marieke Malan. "Reflecting self : an exploration of drawing trace as reciprocity between self and life-world, with reference to my own drawing and selected works of Diane Victor." Thesis, Stellenbosch : Stellenbosch University, 2015. http://hdl.handle.net/10019.1/96943.

Full text
Abstract:
Thesis (MA)--Stellenbosch University, 2015.
ENGLISH ABSTRACT: The study postulates that drawing functions as a valuable vehicle that facilitates reciprocity between the drafter and her life-world. This relationship of exchange can bring about transformation of the self. The study is a qualitative study that aims to establish an understanding of how drawing functions as a vehicle facilitating reciprocity between the drafter and her life-world. In order to effectively research the transformative potential of reciprocity between artist, drawing, and life-world, theoretically and practically, the study is divided into two main parts. Firstly, it constitutes a theoretical section, which forms the foundation for further exploration in the second part of the study. Secondly, the study focuses on the practical manifestation of the theories as manifest in my drawings and in selected drawings of Diane Victor, whose work primarily functions as ‘a third person perspective’ in relation to my own work. The study is rooted in a psycho-analytical framework, focusing on Self psychology and Intersubjective Psychoanalysis of personality psychologists such as Jung, Miller, Goldberg and McAdams, amongst others, as well as the writings of philosophers, art historians and drawing theorists such as Jacques Derrida, Catherine de Zegher, and Suzi Gablik. Valuable links are forged between the transformative potential of drawing, the psychological and the spiritual. Parallels are drawn between notions derived from self-psychology and theology, based on the premise that human beings constitute body (physical aspect), soul (mind and emotion) and spirit, three components that are hardly divisible and that work together in drawing, effecting the transformation of the self. I argue that a failure to acknowledge the significance of the interactivity between these facets limits and inhibits the transformative potential of the drawing process. Through interactivity between the self and her life-world through drawing, moments of ‘recognition’ and ‘knowing’ occur - concerning hidden ‘truths’ of the self, which could affect personal transformation. In this study, life-world comprises inner and outer world, a visible and invisible world. The visible world focuses on the interaction of the self with nature and culture, and the invisible world focuses on the interaction of the self with a psychic world, which includes the workings of the conscious and unconscious mind in drawing and their connection with a spiritual dimension. The spiritual aspect in drawing is researched through the notions of transformative “presence” and the “transcendent function” of drawing. The study explores the psychological and spiritual value of drawings as transformative selfobjects to address the general neglect of the spiritual. I affirm that there exists a mutually conducive potential and influence that the interplay between the spiritual and the psychological in the drawing process bring about. As a “selfobject”, a drawing attains its own ‘silent visual language’ replacing or assisting the role of the therapist, becoming pivotal in a transformative ‘interpersonal dialogue’. Lastly, Jung (Miller, 2004:4) claims that the unification of the conscious and unconscious eventually results in “a living birth that leads to a new level of being, a new situation” (Miller, 2004:4).

This piece presents the life reflection induced from the seasonal transition. The essay deals with the compositional idea and deals with the aesthetic basis for the composition, the relation among the oriental and western musical thought-branches, and the analysis or comprehensive description of the individual movements in relation to the totality of the piece. The manner of expression is influenced by research into and realization of the Taoist life view of “virtual spirit”, existentialist philosophy, and its attendant aesthetics. It is expected that with the silent call of the earth, the orchestral work “The Autumn Thoughts” will be composed accordingly.

Full text
Abstract:
碩士
國立成功大學
台灣文學研究所
95
YANG Chian-ho, born September, 1921, during the era of Japanese Occupation, received a colonial, traditional yet modern Japanese New Style education. After finishing school, she chose a path of career and social action instead of submitting to the traditional women’s fate of becoming a wife and mother. Thus, she was among the first women to experience economic independence. In addition, her involvement on the Taiwanese social scene injected a breath of fresh air to the Taiwanese literary world that was lacking independent women’s voices. Although she stopped writing after her marriage, in early 1990s she made her literary comeback with a memoir, Prism of Life, in which she describes her almost fifty years earlier life. The book also allowed her readers to become acquainted with the first woman reporter in Taiwan’s history for the biggest newspaper of that time Taiwan Jit Jit Sin Po. Although she belonged to the upper class of the colonized people, she did not submit to the oppressions of colonialism and sexism as a Taiwanese and a woman. Her acts of outspokenness for the wronged, and her involvement to go after what she deserved, showed a strong personality that did not bend its knees before the powerful. Her honest and direct character and special life experience were drastic departures from the older images of submissive, powerless and sorrowful women. Her story gives us a modern example of women who have achieved selfhood. While YANG’s physical independence was shaped by her educational and work experience, her emotional independence found expression and challenges in the different stages of her life, most of which were not without conflicts or their rough spots. In analyzing the process of losing and reconstructing her selfhood, we can also discover the myriad facets of her life. Thus, this thesis aims to focus on YANG’s life as the main vehicle in making an across-the-board analysis of how women’s selfhood was achieved through her education and professional backgrounds and her experience as one of a very few women councilors in Taiwan. Moreover, this study presents how YANG’s personal life was influenced by the struggles for the women rights during the 1920s. The four goals of this women’s liberation movement for education, economy, marriage and politics, serve as reference points for the basis of the development of YANG’s life. This is the framework of the chapters. Chapter by chapter, YANG’s construction of a woman’s selfhood through writing and actions is examined. Furthermore, another topic of this research is to point how Taiwanese women, even under the triple domination of capitalism, colonialism and patriarchal society and marginalized on several fronts, could achieve balance in life and find means and opportunities to speak out. Lastly, the paper shows how YANG’s ‘private’, reflective writings spoke for the women of her time. The paper attempts to make a thorough analysis of the process of realizing women’s selfhood from YANG’s life experiences and writings, including her novels, essays, autobiography and narratives. The paper makes an organized analysis of the realization of women’s selfhood, how it moves and changes during different stages of life, and so to understand the new self image of woman presented by YANG.

Abstract:
AbstractThis chapter offers an introduction to the field of ethics and the central place of conscience within it. To explicate the idea of conscience, I draw upon the work of nineteenth-century Harvard philosopher Josiah Royce. Royce understood conscience as the product of a certain insight, what he called the moral insight, which he defined as “the realization of one’s neighbor, in the full sense of the word realization; the resolution to treat him unselfishly.” I then go on to illustrate parallels to Royce’s moral insight in the works of Plato, Jean Piaget, Hannah Arendt, Joseph Ratzinger, and Anthony DeMello. This is followed by a discussion of the work of Jonathan Haidt aimed at tracing the universality of conscience across cultures and strategies for putting conscience into action—even in a pluralistic society. I wrap up this chapter with two subsections: (a) some structural remarks about the field of ethics, anticipating the theme of Chap. 3: Can a corporation have a conscience? and (b) two serious objections to the very idea of treating corporations as morally responsible entities. This chapter is an organic part of a larger work about the overall contribution of Kenneth Goodpaster to the field of applied ethics and is best read in the context of that larger work.

Abstract:
AbstractDigital Transformation (DT) strives to alter an entity by substantially changing its characteristics facilitated by integrating digital technologies. Albeit numerous barriers hinder the realization of its potential. Barriers are subject to scientific research. Generally, scientific works result in research streams. The existing literature already examines the DT streams. Although these works make an essential contribution, they cannot sufficiently explore the field of barriers. Keeping track of the concepts and themes in a growing research field is challenging. Therefore, the aims of this mapping study are (1) to show which domain-specific research streams are explicitly dealing with the DT barriers, (2) to highlight which topics research currently addresses, and (3) which topics should be investigated in the future. Combining elements of a bibliometric analysis with a systematic literature review, we mapped nine different streams based on 203 publications. The results indicate that much research focuses on industrial companies or sectors but needs an overarching perspective. Also, many studies are only concerned with identifying the barriers, while systematic approaches to overcoming them still need to be developed.

AbstractUntil just some decades ago, nobody spoke of innovation, and nobody crafted any innovation policies. But a lot of innovation surely happened anyway. This should prompt us to reflect: Is society’s current obsession with innovation perhaps counterproductive? There is a lot to suggest that real innovation happens to a lesser degree now than before. On basis of this realization, this chapter discusses, in turn, the consequences of empty innovation for societies, organizations, and individuals; the misunderstandings that seem to lie behind the obsession with innovation and its expressions in policy; what innovation really is; and finally, how real innovation can be promoted. Using secondary sources that analyze how innovation works and how it is best promoted, the chapter summarizes the learnings of the book overall and lays out an alternative path forward.

Abstract:
The essay deals with the category of work in Lukács. Lukács has been interested in work since his earliest works. The work where he directly addresses the problem of work is History and Class Consciousness. In this work he analyzes and describes the phenomenon of reification. Work is transformed into a thing and thus can be fragmented and manipulated to increase production. After reading Marx's economic-philosophical manuscripts, Lukács discovers the ontological character of the work. He defines an ontological conception of work, that expressed in the Ontology of Social Being. Work is the moment that distinguishes man from animal. Work is the model of every form of human practice, through the position of the purpose, the investigation of the natural means to achieve it and its realization.

Abstract:
AbstractThis paper shows the implementation of miniature sensors for soil moisture measurement and their integration in a root-inspired burrowing growing robot. Three kinds of sensors are combined to estimate the water content in soil: a resistivity sensor composed of two brass electrodes, a commercial air humidity sensor interfaced with the soil by a filter membrane of PTFE with polyester scrim, and an RGB sensor used for visible reflectance spectroscopy. We show their integration and embeddability in a burrowing growing robot based on additive manufacturing with a 4 cm probe diameter. The multimodal sensing strategy has been characterized and tested in clay and sand medium at different water content. Results show that the resistive sensor works in all the tested ranges but is prone to failure due to electrode-soil contact issues. The air humidity sensor works accurately in a range of water content less than 5% (dry conditions), and the RGB sensor works in the 5–20% range. We propose a statistical approach for soil moisture estimation that combines all three technologies and demonstrate that we can accurately predict the water content in our experimental soils, clay and sand, with better performance in clay (Root Mean Square Error, RMSE = 0.38). The proposed miniaturized multimodal sensing strategy can enable long-term, in-situ soil moisture monitoring functionalities in self-deployable robots for precision agriculture and forestry applications.

It has as its object of activity the application of the Romsilva strategy for the forests received under administration, the conservation and sustainable development of the publicly owned forest fund of the state, the management of the hunting and fishing funds assigned according to the law, the harvesting and valorization of specific forest products according to the legal provisions in conditions of efficiency economic, also exercising public service duties with specific forestry.[1] The management of forests represents the set of concerns and measures aimed at ensuring the bringing and keeping of forests in an appropriate state from the point of view of the ecological, economic and social functions that they perform. The inventory and record activity of the forest fund is based on topographical measurement works, pedological maps and parcel descriptions showing all the factors on which the production and optimal utilization of forest products depends. The aim of the paper was to update the cartographic base of the forestry fund of the Lugoj Forest Ring Road, of which only one production unit is presented, because the documentation is very extensive. [2] [3] A GPS was used for the topographic surveys of the boundaries of the forest bodies using the static method and the Stop & Go kinematic method, and the Autodesk AutoCAD - Raster Design package was used to process and draw up the cartographic documentation in order to create the thematic digital maps.

Abstract:
In recent years, thanks to the ongoing targeted program of prospecting and field investigation of lower Palaeolithic sites, as well as targeted laboratory research involving various aspects of the study of materials of these sites, a significant amount of new data on the early Stone Age in modern Ukraine has been accumulated. Coordination and realization of these works in the last decade was mainly carried out by the lower Palaeolithic expedition of the Institute of Archaeology of NAS of Ukraine with sporadic financial support of the Presidium of NASU, NffR of Ukraine and the Ministry of education and Science of Ukraine, as well as with active participation of representatives of a number of domestic and foreign scientific and museum centers, as well as local historians. Data obtained in the last few years are presented and the main regularities of geographical setting, chronology, morphological and technological characteristics of assemblages are discussed in aspects of behavioural technological patterns, models of colonization of terrain, and evaluation of anthropic pressure on natural environment. The lower Palaeolithic records demonstrate hominin presence in mountainous areas (Carpathians, Crimea) and in the Podolian and Donetsk Uplands, that is in West and east of the country in its east european segment. More early sites gravitate to seashore and mountainous areas, more late sites witness for steady, though not continuous colonization of forested environments of fringe areas of east european plain. Available geological, geomorphological, biostratigraphical data and pilot eSR dates allows defining of their age between 1.2 and 0.4 Myr sites correlate with few warm phases between MIS 35 and MIS 11 that means association with mainly forest environments. essential difficulties in lithic raw materials supply could be a reason for the rise of peculiar pattern of technological behaviour that involved mainly bipolar knapping and widely applied parting technology for shaping the working edges of tools. Typologically, industries are mostly characterised as belonging to Mode I, irrespective of their age. Some signs on the likely non-utilitarian behaviour of ancient hominins may also be discussed. The lower Paleolithic peopling pattern can be summarized as a multiple pioneering colonization of fringe areas of the east european plain during warm periods and depopulation during cold periods anthropic pressure on environment is minimal. The study was partly funded by the MES of Ukraine, project M-72/20192020.

Abstract:
Abstract Currently, there is a positive trend in the oil and gas industry worldwide, including Kazakhstan, in the directions of digitizing processes and ensuring occupational safety. As a result, we have a large volume of data, the potential of which is often not fully realized. The second derivative of improvements in occupational safety is the exponential increase in task complexity as we approach the coveted goal of incidents. In other words, achieving each subsequent safety metric requires making increasingly complex and sometimes non-obvious decisions. We observe how two curves—the demand curve and the opportunities curve—intersect at this point, which is now. The main goal of the project is to develop a solution that unlocks the potential of the collected data and applies it to make those very complex decisions. This is achieved by uncovering non-obvious, complex interdependencies, causal relationships, and behavioral patterns. The Advanced Safety Analytics Realization (ASAR) Project aims to centralize Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) data and perform processes to obtain clean data for further predictive, prescriptive and diagnostic analysis. The primary objective of the project is to predict and prevent incidents based on historical data of incidents, regular observations, and planned works. Aggregating information from various sources such as incident reports, work permits, and safeguards field verification is essential for constructing a holistic view of HSE outcomes. By combining these datasets, we gain a deeper understanding of the factors influencing safety and risk management.

In this article considered Journalistic and editorial activity of Volodymyr Lenika (14.06.1922–02.11.2005) – one of the leading figures of Ukrainian emigration in Germany. First outlined basic landmarks of his life and creation. Journalistic and editorial activity of Volodymyr Lenik was during to forty years out of Ukraine. Subject of him newspaper-magazine publications directed on illumination of school, youth, student, cultural, scientific problems, organization and activity of emigrant structures, political fight of emigration, to dethronement of the antiukrainskikh Moscow diversions and provocations. Such variety of problematic of works of V. Lenika was directed in the river-bed of retaining of revolutionary temperament in the environment of diaspore, to bringing in of it to activity in public and political life. Problematic of him is systematized publicism and journalistic appearances, which was inferior realization of a few important tasks, namely to the fight for Ukrainian independence in new terms, cherishing and maintainance of national identity, counteraction hostile soviet propaganda. Among the defining ideological and political realization of the National Idea of Ukrainian statehood, which are mentioned in the scientific and journalistic works of M. Hryhorchuk, the fundamental ones – linguistic and religious – are singled out. Israel and Poland are a clear example for Ukrainians. In these states, language and religion were absolutized and it is thanks to this understanding of the essence of state-building and national identity that it is contrary to many difficulties achieve the desired life-affirming goal. The author emphasizes that any information in the broadest and narrow sense can be perceived without testing for compliance with the moral and spiritual mission of man, the fundamental values of the Ukrainian ethnic group, putting moral and spiritual values in the basis of state building. The outstanding Ukrainian philosopher Hryhoriy Skovoroda emphasized: “Faith is the light that sees in the darkness…” Books by physicist Mykola Hryhorchuk “Where are you going, Ukraine?” and “Freedom at the Barricades” are illuminated by faith in the Victory over the bloody centuries-old Moscow darkness.

Stelmakh, Marta. HISTORICAL CONTEXT IN THE COLLECTION OF ARTICLES BY TIMOTHY SNYDER «UKRAINIAN HISTORY, RUSSIAN POLITICS, EUROPEAN FUTURE». Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.30970/vjo.2021.50.11098.

Full text
Abstract:
The article examines the problem of the image formation of Ukraine in the international arena in the historical journalism of Timothy Snyder. The subject of the research is the historical context in the journalistic collection «Ukrainian History, Russian Politics, European Future». It identifies the main considerations of the author on the past of Russian-Ukrainian relations and the need to develop historical consciousness in the fight against Russian manipulation. Methodology: the comparative, historical, system analysis and other methods are used in the process of scientific research. The results of the study were obtained by analysing the author’s journalistic works and by considering the main historical themes raised by Timothy Snyder. Main results: The historical context in Timothy Snyder’s journalism is often focused on the Holodomor and the events of World War II. After all, these events are connected with the beginning of the image formation of the Ukrainian people as supporters of Nazism by the Russian authorities and the devaluation of the Ukrainians’ contribution to the establishment of peace during the Second World War. It is determined that the non-reflective attitude to history, the inability to draw parallels between the events of the past and the future leads to an ineffective response to manipulation and propaganda, which can threaten world peace. Conclusions: the realization that Russian aggression against Ukraine has its own history is a necessary aspect in the elucidation of this issue. The Eurasian Union and cooperation with the European far-right are Russian propaganda tools that discredit the Ukrainian state in the world community. Publicist Timothy Snyder points out that Europe’s future interconnects with the past, so he emphasizes the need to study and rethink history, which today has become the object of propaganda and manipulation. Significance: The results of our study will help journalists who study the historical aspect of journalistic materials and research foreign materials on Ukrainian issues. In addition, our research is necessary for Ukraine, because Russia’s aggression continues, as well as the aggressor’s propaganda, which is based on the distortion and falsification of historical events.
