This paper presents a fault diagnosis method of automobile rear axle based on wavelet packet analysis (WPA) and support vector machine (SVM) classifier. By Fourier transformation we find out the frequency band that can mostly reflect the rear axle failure state and use wavelet packet to decompose and reconstruct the vibration signals of rear axle, then extract each band’s energy and the variance, standard deviation, skewness, kurtosis of the specific frequency band to constitute a feature vector. A linked 2016–2017 hospital and MV crash data set, the Crash Outcomes Data Evaluation System (CODES), was used to compare characteristics of front-seated (n = 115,939) and rear-seated (n = 5729) adults aged 18 years and older involved in a MV crash in New

The objective of this study was to evaluate the relationship of lamp photometrics to differentiation between brake and presence signals. To assess this relationship, signal identification was evaluated as a function of lamp photometrics under simulated dusk/dawn conditions. The following were the main results: (1) Luminous intensity was a better predictor of signal identification than was average luminance. (2) The likelihood of identifying a signal as a brake signal was a monotonic function of lamp intensity. (3) Reaction time was positively related to the degree of subjects' uncertainty (as

We have found that MLC-dependent activation of myosin IIB in migrating cells is required to form an extended rear, which coincides with increased directional migration. Activated myosin IIB localizes prominently at the cell rear and produces large, stable actin filament bundles and adhesions, which locally inhibit protrusion and define the morphology of the tail. Myosin IIA forms de novo filaments away from the myosin IIB–enriched center and back to form regions that support protrusion.
