After the earthquake in Sichuan of China in 2008, price increase of conventional materials, poor conditions in transportation and resources and low levels of economy and technology are the main challenges faced by villagers’ home rebuilding. Under this background, a comprehensive demonstration village rebuild project was launched. Based on locally available natural resources and recyclable materials from collapsed houses, the local traditional earth-based technology got greatly improved in anti-seismic performance via experimental studies. This work cannot slow down any longer. From 1999 until now, despite great efforts, Hanoi has only renovated and rebuilt 19 apartments (about 1.2%). Here, an approach is introduced that can identify and rebuild the residues with larger errors, which subsequently reduces the overall C-alpha root mean square deviations (CA-RMSD) to

However, little is known about post-wildfire response by homeowners and communities after buildings are lost. This study rebuilds the computer model of combination building for preparations to enhance the seismic design of nuclear power plants. The lumped mass stick model is used to generate the natural frequency and floor response spectrum, and this paper conducts a comparison of the variations between the original and rebuilt model before an evaluation. The analysis results indicate that the natural frequency and floor response spectrum provided by the novel lumped mass stick model represent the overall building responses in a reasonable fashion. The results generated by the lumped mass model fit th

Abstract. The identification of widespread sources of passive tracers out of atmospheric concentration measurements has become an important challenge of modern meteorology. The paper proposes some mathematical tracks to address this reconstruction of the complex space-time geometry of the sources. The methods are based upon the use of retroplumes. The inverse problem is addressed in a deterministic non statistical frame. The information obtained by local measurements is spread by introducing the concept of illumination. The constraint that the source to be rebuilt is non negative is also addre

Post-1914 Rebuilding of the Centre of Kalisz From the Point of View of German Preservationist Julius Kohte In the discussion on the appearance of Kalisz, which was to be rebuilt after the destruction in 1914, the opinion of the German conservator of monuments, Julius Kohte, was of great importance, as he prepared a detailed expert opinion on the preserved valuable buildings and the possibility of their incorporation into the landscape of the rebuilt city and use as an architectural template. Apart from the aforementioned opinion, the analysis covered articles about the monuments of Kalisz writ
