Varlamov, Oleg. Mivar databases and rules. ru: INFRA-M Academic Publishing LLC., 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.12737/1508665.

Full text
Abstract:
The multidimensional open epistemological active network MOGAN is the basis for the transition to a qualitatively new level of creating logical artificial intelligence. Mivar databases and rules became the foundation for the creation of MOGAN. The results of the analysis and generalization of data representation structures of various data models are presented: from relational to "Entity — Relationship" (ER-model). On the basis of this generalization, a new model of data and rules is created: the mivar information space "Thing-Property-Relation". The logic-computational processing of data in this new model of data and rules is shown, which has linear computational complexity relative to the number of rules. MOGAN is a development of Rule - Based Systems and allows you to quickly and easily design algorithms and work with logical reasoning in the "If..., Then..." format. An example of creating a mivar expert system for solving problems in the model area "Geometry"is given. Mivar databases and rules can be used to model cause-and-effect relationships in different subject areas and to create knowledge bases of new-generation applied artificial intelligence systems and real-time mivar expert systems with the transition to"Big Knowledge". The textbook in the field of training "Computer Science and Computer Engineering" is intended for students, bachelors, undergraduates, postgraduates studying artificial intelligence methods used in information processing and management systems, as well as for users and specialists who create mivar knowledge models, expert systems, automated control systems and decision support systems. Abstract:
Contemporary music research and practice have leveraged advances in computing power by integrating computing devices into many aspects of music—from generative music to live coding. This efflorescence of musical practice, process, and product raises complex issues in audience reception. This chapter employs a comparative analysis in a longitudinal study designed to understand the psychological aspects of the audience reception of algorithmic music. It studies four compositions from the latter part of the twentieth century late, presented on fixed media to avoid variability in musical performance. Using a modified think-aloud protocol to collect data, this study shows that reception theory may be applied to the audience reception of algorithmic music using a cognitive-affective model to further understand the process of decoding of meaning. This study puts forth a robust methodology for future longitudinal and comparative research in the audience reception of music and makes recommendations for further research.

Abstract:
Evaluation of the obese patient requires identification of all comorbidities and health conditions, including underlying cardiac and pulmonary conditions that could have a negative outcome on noncardiac surgery. Once comorbidities have been recognized, aggressive optimization of these medical conditions can provide improved outcomes after bariatric surgery. Estimating medical risk can be performed by several validated classification systems. The preoperative checklist and clinical practice guidelines (CPG) were updated in 2013. The CPG recommendations for preoperative evaluation of the bariatric surgery patient include lab testing, nutritional screening, endocrine assessment, and cardiopulmonary assessment, including sleep apnea screening. The CPG suggest an extensive multidisciplinary team approach to the preoperative bariatric surgery patient. Finally, the medical evaluation includes an algorithm for a seven-step approach to the preoperative visit. Also recommended for evaluation of the morbidly obese patient is an algorithm that uses a five-step approach after a comprehensive history and physical exam and lab testing.

Abstract:
Radial scars are benign lesions of the breast characterized pathologically by a fibroelastic core containing entrapped ducts and lobules that radiate outwards in a stellate pattern. This chapter, highlighting radial scar as a cause of architectural distortion, reviews its imaging features and differential diagnosis on mammography, digital breast tomosynthesis, ultrasound, and MRI; its diagnostic workup using multiple modalities; and its histological confirmation with image-guided core needle biopsy. The particular challenge of radial scar presenting as architectural distortion seen only with tomosynthesis is discussed, along with an algorithm for imaging evaluation and biopsy guidance in this setting. As radial scar, which is histologically related to complex sclerosing lesion and radial sclerosing lesion, is considered a high-risk lesion, management recommendations are also reviewed.

Werner, Ann. Digitally Mediated Identity in the Cases of Two Sámi Artists. Edited by Fabian Holt and Antti-Ville Kärjä. Oxford University Press, 2017. http://dx.doi.org/10.1093/oxfordhb/9780190603908.013.21.

Full text
Abstract:
This chapter explores identity issues in commercial streaming services, which have grown steadily in the 2010s to become the dominant form of music consumption in the Nordic countries, with about 60% of all Internet users in 2015. The chapter offers an alternative to the dominant trend in music industry studies by focusing not on the industry’s interests but instead on broader cultural issues. The chapter presents case studies of two female Sámi artists and their representations on Spotify, YouTube, MySpace, and artists’ websites, taking various aspects of the services into account, including the interface and the algorithm-based recommendations. Informed by feminist cultural studies, the argument is that the industry continues a history of reinforcing stereotypes of ethnicity, indigeneity, and femininity. Thus, commercial streaming is not only making music available to global audiences, it is also selling images of Otherness within an unequal capitalist global media system.
