Abstract:
Improving the efficiency of maintenance production in agriculture closely connected to the creation and implementation of such methods of repair and recondition of elements that improve the physicomechanical and service properties of wear joint assemblies. The presence of a nitrided case on the surface of elements lays the groundwork for obtaining a complex covering based on chromium nitrides. Electrolytic chromium plating is one of the ways to recondition elements that increase the service life and machines reliability, and reduce maintenance cost. However, the widespread adoption of chromium plating for the recondition of worn elements is hold back by the low productivity of the process. Therefore, the intensification of chromium plating in reconditioning worn-out machine elements is an urgent problem. It is advisable to recondition critical parts subjecting to abrasive wear, for example, precision vapors of fuel injection equipment, with chromium plating. However, the low productivity and high-energy consumption of the process require the improvement of the electrolyte in order to increase the current output of chromium and the permissible cathode density. The article describes a method for improving the quality of an electrolyte, a method for increasing its versatility, namely the supplementation of various organic additives and complexing substances into it.

Abstract:
The paper presents the researches to determine the best technologies to improve the lifetime of the corner welding. Generally it is says that the convex corner welding presents high mechanical properties because of the greater area section. The practice activity shows that in fact, because of the stress concentrators, these shapes of the welding are not the best solution. A better shape of the corner welding is the concave one that provides better results in the working conditions. To provide better results of the convex shape corner welding different recondition techniques are known. The paper is focused on fatigue testing performed on different samples realized with different beads on different working parameters. There are studied different reconditioned probes and the results are reported in fatigue curves.

Abstract:
The plasma level of L-thyroxine (T4) of wild reconditioned Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) kelts held in freshwater at seasonal temperatures on a natural simulated photoperiod showed a robust seasonal profile with a marked peak in early spring followed by low levels throughout the summer. Plasma T4 was low in kelts that did not recondition and was uninfluenced by gender, eventual reproductive state, or imposition of a 6-mo compressed photocycle. The plasma 3,5,3′-triiodo-L-thyronine (T3) level also rose in spring in both males and females. In males and nonreproducing females, plasma T3 remained high during the growth phase in summer and decreased in fall and winter. Plasma T3 was very low in nonfeeding fish and showed some influence by the 6-mo compressed photocycle. Plasma T3 was particularly low in females at the time of vitellogenesis when 17β-estradiol was high. It is concluded that in reconditioned Atlantic salmon kelts, levels of plasma T4 and T3 appear to be controlled independently and that plasma T3 is more susceptible than T4 to vitellogenic state and other factors relating to metabolic demands.

Abstract: Hardness is one of the mechanical properties of a material. The hardness of a material must be known especially for materials which in its use will be suppressed and friction. To know the hardness value of the material then do hardness test by using tool of hardness tester. One method used to increase the hardness of the material is by thermal spray method. Thermal Spray is a coating technology of both metal and non-metal materials that dispray on the base with the intention of providing protection against wear or recondition of the application so that back to the original function and size. The objective of this research is to know the result of hardness of transmission rear cover of PT 2509 VOLVO A35E after reconditioning. This research was carried out in May until June 2016. The research took place at PT.Intraco Penta Pima Service located in Manggar area of Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. The research object focused on the housing rear cover transmission of PT 2509 VOLVO A35 E which has been reconditioned with thermal spray method. In thermal spray, the material may be a powder, wire or rod and inserted into the flame of a spray gun. After the analysis, it is concluded that the hardness that occurs after the thermal spray process has changed which is about 30.88 HR which previously was at 10.32 HR. Influence that occurs to the parent metal undergoing the process of reconditioning, which in the presence of the recondition process that occurs there will be a change in the nature of material hardness on the rear cover of 199%.

Abstract: Many automotive components are made of Aluminum alloy. The broken or cracked components are generally replaced with a new product. For the reason of the number of component and cost, recondition is considered as a very profitable solution. So far, the recondition on this alloy component was repaired by using TIG or MIG. However, this alloy is easily oxidized and forms Aluminum oxide. In addition, the alloy is also easy to form a fine cavity and weld cracking. So, the problem to be solved in this work is how to conduct the CFC (Continuous Flow Casting) process so that the repair process produces a joining that is free from cavities and hot cracks. In this work, the objective is to repair an aluminum alloy by using the CFC method. The problem solution is performed by experimental investigation, which is the repair process using CFCs. The surface repairs result was poured by dye penetrant fluid then metallographic examination and hardness testing. From the experimental results obtained that the metallurgical bonding in the connection area is considered good because there is continuity of micro structure between the parent metal and filler metal.

Theme: Evaluation of stability, sensorimotor and symmetry of football players after ACL reconstruction by MFT S3 tool. Student: Bc. Simon Otto Supervisor: PhDr. Ales Kaplan, PhD. Aims: The aim of the diploma thesis is evaluation of stability, sensorimotor and symmetry of chosen group of football players (n=4) after ACL injury by MFT S3 check test. Methodology: The level of stability, sensorimotor and symmetry was measured by MFT S3 tool and then evaluated with activities during the recondition season. Results: The study proved that some activities are more or less suitable for development of stability and sensorimotor. The biggest positive effect had special workouts aimed for tight muscles and the knee joint. The lowest values were measured after the run and football trainings when the stability and the sensorimotor were impaired. The values were higher in sagittal plane due the preferable sagittal movement used during the football matches. It is important to realize that the recondition process is needs to be lead individually for every athlete after ACL surgery because there is not any universal methodological procedure. Key words: Stability, sensorimotor, symmetry, injury, knee, ACL, football, recondition.

Although this book is concerned primarily with the contractual liability of sellers of goods and with the liability in tort of manufacturers, we include here reference to other persons who may incur liability for defective products. The contractual liability of persons other than sellers has already been noted. Persons other than manufacturers who may incur liability in tort include retailers and persons who hire out or provide services involving the use of a product; donors and gratuitous bailors; wholesalers and importers; those who repair, service, recondition, assemble, install, or carry out work on a product; and probably also such persons or bodies as inspectors, engineers, testing agencies, and endorsers or certifiers of safety or quality. Finally, reference is made to the position of building contractors and builder-vendors. The discussion generally assumes that the claimant is suing in respect of personal injury or perhaps property damage, rather than economic loss simpliciter.

Abstract:
Organ transplantation is the standard treatment modality for end-stage organ disease in selected cases. Two types of potential organ donors can be identified: the brain-dead 'heart-beating donors', referred to as DBD (donation after brain death), and the warm ischaemic 'non-heart-beating donors', referred to as DCD (donation after circulatory death). Brain death induces several physiological changes in the DBD donor. An autonomic storm is characterized by massive catecholamine release, followed by autonomic depletion during a vasoplegic phase. This is associated with several hormonal changes (suppression of vasopressin, the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, and the hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid axis) and an inflammatory response. These physiological changes form the basis of organ donor management, including cardiovascular stabilization and hormonal therapy (including vasopressin and analogues, thyroid hormone, and cortisol). Donor management is the continuation of critical care, with a shift towards individual organ stabilization. An aggressive approach to maximize organ yield is recommended; however, many treatment strategies need further investigation in large randomized trials. DCD donors have now evolved as a valid alternative to increase the potential donor pool and challenge the clinician with new questions. Optimal donor comfort therapy and end-of-life care are important to minimize the agonal phase. A strict approach towards the determination of death, based on cardiorespiratory criteria, is prerequisite. Novel strategies have been developed, using ex situ organ perfusion as a tool, to evaluate and recondition donor organs. They might become more important in the future to further optimize organ quality.

Abstract:
This chapter explores the factors that have shaped the operating environment of the “East Turkestan Islamic Movement” (ETIM) and “Turkestan Islamic Party” (TIP) and the broader strategic context in which Chinese counter-terrorism policy operates. It demonstrates that for much of the period since 2001 ETIM and TIP’s operating environment was conditioned by the central role of Pakistan, which through its sponsorship of the Taliban and other militants gave it a unique capacity to influence how these groups behaved towards China. This situation has been overturned by renewed Pakistani military operations in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) that have displaced TIP, while the Syrian conflict reconditioned the pathway to Uyghur militant recruitment away from South Asia to the Middle East. The net effect of this, the chapter concludes, is that after many years in which Beijing was able to mediate major elements of its counter-terrorism policy through its closest security partner, Pakistan, it is now being required to countenance a more direct role in addressing the threat across virtually all dimensions of policy – politically, economically, and potentially even militarily.

Abstract The JRC must recondition various radioactive wastes that were placed in a shallow land burial site during the 1960s and 70s. One such waste type at the Ispra Site are the so-called Roman pits, 7 m high columnar concrete containers in which activated metals were deposited and immobilised with cement. JRC-Ispra has fifteen such waste forms that must be recovered, characterised and reconditioned. This paper discusses the background to the Roman pits, the development of a validation procedure for demonstrating the safe recovery of a pit, and finally, the procedure’s execution.

Abstract:
Between 1980 and 1997, municipal waste in OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) countries increased by around 40%. The European Union has responded by introducing legislation on extended producer responsibility (EPR). This paper further explains the context of this new legislation and describes, compares and then contrasts the four alternative strategies to reducing end-of-life waste: namely repairing, reconditioning, remanufacturing or recycling. It also introduces a more robust definition of remanufacturing, validated by earlier research, which differentiates it from repair and reconditioning. From a consideration of the different factors involved, it concludes that remanufacturing may often be a strong strategy. This is based on the fact that it preserves both the embodied energy of virgin production (thus reducing the environmental impact) and the intrinsic “value adding” process of the producer (thus increasing the manufacturer’s profitability). As a result, this new environmental policy is likely to lead to significant increases in remanufacturing as an end-of-life strategy in the European Union. However, effective end-of life strategies are dictated by product characteristics and therefore vary from product to product (Rose et al, 1998). Thus further research is required to compare and contrast the effectiveness of remanufacturing and alternative end-of-life strategy for particular product types.

Abstract:
Material and energy resource consumption is on the rise in both the industrialized and developing world (e.g., countries like India and China). In order to sustain this growth and provide resources for future generations, there is a need to design products that are easy to recover and recondition, thus enabling multiple use cycles. Processes are needed that can achieve this multi-use while producing zero (or very near zero) waste. There exist a number of barriers and challenges to achieving this vision of multi-use with zero waste; one such challenge is the development of a product recovery infrastructure that will minimize short-term impacts due to existing products and will be robust enough to recover products of the future. This paper identifies the barriers to developing such a recovery and reuse infrastructure. The aim is to achieve product multi-use and zero waste.

Abstract:
We developed a room temperature method to recondition intermediate-level homogeneous bituminized waste, called Eurobitum. Using this method, Eurobitum could be separated in an aqueous and an organic effluent, and a solid asphaltene-salt mix. In this paper, we present the results of the room temperature reconditioning method using real radioactive Eurobitum samples. The dissolution and separation processes were optimized. The residual waste could then be pressed towards a material, that might be suitable for geological disposal. The concentration of radionuclides in the two secondary waste effluents was thereafter determined. The aqueous effluent contained radionuclide concentrations below the treatment levels for common radioactive waste water treatment processes, whereas the alpha radioactivity of the organic phase was low enough to consider the possibility to inject it into the CILVA radwaste incinerator where it would undergo a thermal treatment process together with other solid radwaste. Our proposed process could reduce the Eurobitum volume considerably. The most flammable and the least radiation resistant molecules and the nitrates were removed from the original Eurobitum waste. Finally, the residual waste is expected to be more stable in geological disposal conditions.

Abstract:
Two mechanisms that increase heat dissipation at solid-liquid interfaces are investigated from the atomistic point of view using nonequilibrium molecular dynamics (NEMD) simulation. The mechanisms include surface functionalization, where −OH terminated headgroups and self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) with different chain lengths are used to recondition and modify the hydrophilicity of silica surface, and vibrational matching between crystalline silica and liquid water, where three-dimensional quartz nanopillars are grown at the interface in the direction of the heat flux with different lengths to rectify the vibrational frequencies of quartz surface atoms. The heat dissipation is measured in terms of the interfacial thermal conductance at the solid-liquid interface, whereas the thermal conductance is obtained by imposing a one-dimensional heat flux across the simulation domain. The heat dissipation is enhanced by a factor of 2 to 3 for both fully hydroxylated and pillar modified surfaces. The SAMs enhance the overall thermal conductance between silica and water further (20% higher thermal conductance compared to the fully hydroxylated silica surface). Moreover, the modification of the vibrational states at the silica surface provides a tunable path to enhance the heat dissipation, which can also be easily applied to other fluids.

Abstract:
Abstract Worldwide a great deal of the low and medium radioactive waste inventory is mixed with hazardous wastes and different non-combustibles. The path to treating these wastes historically has been to sort combustibles from non-combustibles and process them separately through incineration, supercompaction, cementation or other encapsulating technologies. Special attention has to be taken due to the presence of hazardous constituents. The cost and health physics exposure for sorting these types of mixed wastes and treating the separated streams in specialized infrastructure is not optimal and leaves a great potential for further optimization. After several years of development, a commercially available high temperature treatment system has been developed and installed that treats heterogeneous low-level radioactive waste. High temperature plasma processing and unique torch design and operating features make it feasible to achieve a volume reduced, permanent, high integrity waste form while eliminating the personnel exposure and cost associated with sorting, characterizing and handling. Plasma technology can also be used to recondition previous conditioned waste packages that don’t meet any longer the present acceptance criteria for final disposal. Plasma treatment can result in many cases in a substantial volume reduction, lowering the final disposal costs. This paper covers the unique plasma centrifugal treatment principles and history. It also explains the roles of international partners that blend plasma, off gas treatment and nuclear expertise into one “best developed and available technology” (BDAT) for the treatment of problematic wastes.

Abstract:
Large amounts of actual and historical low level radioactive waste, with varying characteristics, are stored and generated from the operation and maintenance of nuclear power plants, the nuclear fuel cycle, research laboratories, pharmaceutical and medical facilities. Virtual all of these waste streams can be treated by the plasma technology resulting in a final product free of organics, liquids and moisture, and meeting without a doubt the acceptance criteria for safe storage and disposal. The plasma is a highly desirable heat source. Its high temperature of up to 10.000 °C can treat the radioactive waste as is. The inorganic materials are melted into a glassy slag, containing most of the radioactive isotopes, while the organic material is vaporized into a syngas and subsequently oxidized in an afterburner. This technology is very suitable for historical waste containing mixtures of inorganic, organic, liquids, sludge, etc, with almost no waste preparation and with minimal risk for radioactive contamination and exposure. Plasma technology offers a high volume waste reduction factor (VRF) that minimizes the volume and overall costs of waste storage and disposal. In addition, as plasma technology can recondition previously conditioned waste packages that no longer meet the present acceptance criteria for final disposal, it offers a solution to the growing demand for improved quality of final waste forms. As such, plasma technology is of great value, not just to waste producers but to future generations as well. This paper describes further the principles of plasma, the different waste feed systems, off-gas treatment, operational experience and future plasma plants.
