Abstract:
Against the backdrop of the constant city growth, the needs of the population for recreation are increasing. It has led to the intensive recreational use of natural landscapes. An increasing number of people are striving to meet the need for recreation outside the city limits. One of such objects for recreation is riverfront territories (coastal zones), most of which do not meet the requirements for their condition and improvement. In addition, such zones are more exposed to technogenic impact. It contributes to an increase in the degree of recreational digression of the environment and degradation of natural complexes. There is a need to regulate the forms and methods of using natural resources. It enables to develop a system for the environmentally friendly development of them, create favorable conditions for recreation, improve, maintain, and effectively use the recreational potential of the natural complex. The object of the study was the rivefront territories of the Voronezh River in the village of Dobroe, Dobrovsky district, Lipetsk region. Maximum permissible recreational loads have been calculated, the landscape indicators of the coastal territories have been analyzed with their functional recreational zoning performed to ensure the environmentally friendly use of the territory of the object of study. It is necessary to identify the principles of the structure of their recreational spaces and planning decisions in order to intensify the use of coastal territories. As a result of the research, it is planned to analyze a number of factors that influence the organization of recreational functional zones in the structure of the riverfront territories of the village of Dobroe. It enables to identify problems and the main directions for transforming the territory and revealing its potential. An assortment of plants for landscaping riverfront areas is recommended taking into account their resistance to these conditions and anthropogenic stress

Abstract:
The article discusses aspects of the formation of theoretical models of modern suburban recreational complexes (SRC). The recreational environment is defined as result of interaction, interpenetration and mutual addition of three complex factors: recreational activity, recreational resources and recreational structures. Definition of SRC as the local system of recreational suburban formations of various functional profiles consisting of recreational structures is given. SRC is distinguished by taxonomic and typological features. The taxonomic feature determines the position of the SRC in the scale of rank of the recreational formations system. The typological feature indicates qualitative differences in the recreational formations of a single taxonomic rank. The analysis of examples of completed SRC allows us to distinguish the basic theoretical models of modern SRC, depending on thelocation of the recreation object. Specific features of the formation of a specialized recreational layout of the SRC are revealed: closed, half-closed, half-open and open. SRC of the closed type contain the full list of necessary rooms for performance of recreational function and don't demand connection with recreational facilities of the region. SRC of half-closed type perform one dominating recreational function with partial use of recreational resources of the area. SRC of half-open type assumes only auxiliary recreational group and operate recreational resources of the area to perform the main recreational function. SRC of open type assume only placement and incidental service and are completely focused on recreational resources of the area. The specificity of contemporary types of SRC is the position of the main recreation object relative to the SRC itself. The object of recreation within the SRC is formed by a specialized recreational group, which sets the orientation of the SRC.

The outdoor recreational resources provide a basis for development of the tourist activity in the region. Commonly, they are considered based on the administrative units (Krais, Oblasts, municipalities). For small territories, it is handier to study them within the frameworks of the river basins where the rivers and other watercourses are the connecting links between the different resources and kinds of anthropogenic activity. By the example of Sikinka River, the recreation potential of such basin is considered. The basic recreation objects of the territory under study which are combined in three groups (mountain skiing, trekking and beach recreation) are described. For the object in each group, the assessment of favorableness of its recreation use was performed under a common methodology. The transport accessibility of each object was estimated by the average time expenditure for moving in transport with the consideration of its speed. The comparative comprehensive assessment of the attractiveness of the recreation objects was carried out with consideration of the aesthetic evaluation by parameters of contrast, mosaic structure, species diversity, unique character, exoticism and comfort. The value qualities of natural objects (unique character, typicality and exoticism) were also taken into consideration. The advanced kinds of tourism were laid down for the Silinka River basin.

Abstract:
All realities of the surrounding human environment have an axiological potential, and it is generally believed that the ethnic worldviews are characterized by various evaluative dominants. This work substantiates the idea of the existence of universal value attitudes of the representatives of different locative worldviews. The object of this research is the evaluative field “Recreation”; the subject is evaluative judgments of the authors of virtual reviews about vacation on the island Hainan (China), which contain an axiological response to a particular object related to the analyzed evaluative field. The virtual tourist reviews from three locative groups (USA, Europe, Russia) served as the material for this research. The analysis was based on the field method of language description. The conducted research demonstrates that the evaluative field “Recreation” has a similar structure in the representations of native speakers of the three locative groups. The nuclear zone is represented by the thematic group “Hotel accommodation”; the near periphery is formed by the thematic groups “Service”, “Food”, “Beach recreation”; the far periphery includes evaluative judgments of the thematic groups “Activities outside the hotel”, “Landscape”, “Overall impression”, “Fauna”. Each group consists of several objects of evaluation, the axiological response to which is verbalized through evaluative predicates. As a result of studying the evaluation field “Recreation”, the author established that nationality and place of residence of a person do not impact the choice of the object of evaluation of recreation sphere; responses of the representatives of the three locations to tourist objects are very similar.

Darzentas, Dimitrios Paris. "The lives of objects : designing for meaningful things." Thesis, University of Nottingham, 2018. http://eprints.nottingham.ac.uk/50282/.

Abstract:
Today’s Internet of Things (IoT) is often employed to connect material artefacts to digital identifiers and a digital record of their history and existence. This has been heralded as a coming together of our material existences and our increasingly-digital lives. Bringing each object that we create, use and cherish into the IoT, is an outwardly appealing prospect. Using material objects is an accepted part of connecting with narratives and our history, and such a technological boon already enables the storytelling opportunities that are supported by rich digital records. However, in everyday life and in the practices that occupy them, people consider and share stories about the things that they feel to be meaningful to them in complex ways which do not necessarily conform to the expectations of the designers and developers who attempt to intervene and support such practices by focusing on the material objects at hand. This thesis draws upon observations from a thorough engagement with the community of practice of the Tabletop Miniature Wargaming pastime, which involves the acknowledged craft and use of objects deemed as meaningful, to reveal that the practitioners, in reality, construct their shared records and narratives around intangible Identities, both singular and collective, which they find to be the actual ‘meaningful things’ of their activities. These findings contravene the conventional emphasis on the material objects, and pose technological and conceptual challenges. Considering these findings through a lens informed by philosophical grounding, the thesis examines the distinctions between ordinary objects and extraordinary things; how things become meaningful; and the interplay between material and abstract things. The culmination of these efforts is the Meaningful Things Framework, which aims to help disambiguate the complex ways by which practitioners create, perceive and treat the meaningful things involved in their activities, and aid designers, developers and the communities themselves in understanding and supporting their practices.

Abstract:
Diploma thesis Aquapark Brno is directly connected with the previous specialist course "Sports Center Za Lužánkami Brno". This project dealt was focused on overall concept, architectural and urban study of this area with an emphasis on sports, recreation and relaxation. There was created a zone of predominantly professional sport in the southern part of this area. There were built football and ice hockey stadiums on the newly created terrace/platform. These stadiums are located approximately in the same places as their current (football) or non-existent (hockey) predecessors. The terrace/platform (parking is located under the terrace) continues, and the newly expanded Boby Hotel follows the recreational sports zone with an Aquapark and outdoor sports grounds located behind the existing Tesco shopping centre. There is formed a new park in north of the sports grounds forming a recreational-relaxation zone on the territory of Planýrka. The existing building of a 50 meter swimming pool dominates the area of Aquapark. It was built in 1979 according to the project architect Otakar Oplatek. However this object no longer meets the requirements of today's visitors or athletes. The new building which includes a twenty-five meter tall swimming pool with a background is being added to the existing building. So there is a separable swimming area created here, which can serve both - swimmers and teenagers or professional athletes. There is a good possibility of racing as well. The new building connects eastward to the building of the roofed Aquapark partially hidden beneath the terraces and resting areas. These three through-flowing but mutually separable objects together with the platform define the area of the outdoor aquapark. He is also separate off from the noisy Sportovní street, but it has a sufficient supply of sunlight. In the place of the original children's pool and extension to the places of today's little park in front of the building there is space f

Full text
Abstract:
The purpose of this project was to construct a 3D scanner capable of scanning smaller objects and visualize them in a computer with satisfying accuracy. The goal was then to generate an STL file able to be 3D printed in an attempt at reverse engineering. Components, materials and tools were provided by KTH to the best of their ability and abudget of 1000 SEK was given to purchase components not available at KTH. The scanner was designed using Solid Edge and utilizes two stepper motors to scan objects. One motor is used to rotate a platform that the object is placed upon and the second stepper motor is used to move an elevator on which a distance sensor is mounted. By keeping track of the elevator’s height in conjunction with the rotation of the object, the distance measured by the sensor can be converted into a point in a Cartesian coordinate system. Several different methods were tested in order to see how results varied. Firstly, the density of scanned points was increased, meaning that the sensor returned values more often as the stepper motor was rotating. Secondly, multiple measurements were made for a single point to determine an average distance and in that way reduce noise and uncertainty. Placing a single laser sensor perpendicular to the object rotating plate proved to be the optimal arrangement in terms of accuracy with the limited budget provided for this project. The scans are very time consuming which makes it important to decide whether to prioritize speed or accuracy.

The subject of this diploma thesis is the elaboration of a plan for streamlining business operations by providing recreational benefits, which is a form of non-financial remuneration of employees enshrined in the collective agreement of the company. The plan is based on an analysis of the current situation together with a survey of employee demand for recreational centers of the company, on the basis of which individual proposals for future benefit management are made. These suggestions show the company a direction it should take to revive its current form and achieve the desired satisfaction of a larger proportion of employees, while at the same time streamlining the complex internal process associated with it. The resulting plan will serve as a basis for the decision of the company management in cooperation with the trade union to implement the proposed measures.

Abstract:
From the 1880s, a new type of designed green space appeared in the industrial landscape in England and the USA - the factory pleasure garden or park. At the same time, industrialists began to enhance their office and factory buildings with landscaping and planting, and some opened allotment gardens for the children of factory workers. The making of gardens and parks around or near office and factory buildings, designed by professionals, was driven by belief in the value of gardens and parks to recruitment and retention of staff, to industrial welfare, and to advertising, corporate identity and public relations. The thesis will show how industrialists appropriated the historical, cultural and metaphorical meanings of gardens in a bid to redefine industry as progressive and responsible and to shift the image of factory labour from unhealthy and exploitative to healthy, caring, respectable and sociable. The thesis will argue that companies employed landscape professionals to contribute to a positive image of industry and industrial development in the suburban or rural landscape, and to harmonise industry and nature. It will show how the factory gardens and parks supported numerous and varied opportunities for outdoor recreation that in some districts would not have been so readily accessible to working people, particularly to women and young people. The thesis will show how companies exploited the social and cultural capital of gardens and recreation space through photography, illustration and film for promotional purposes. It will suggest that although the sporting and other outdoor recreational opportunities at factories were likely to be beneficial to many, the greater value to companies of factory pleasure gardens was in advertising and public relations. The thesis will build on existing research that highlights the valuable contribution of industry to sports and recreation provision in this period. It will also suggest that industry had more influence on gardens and gardening than is currently understood.

Abstract:
Scholarship on Victorian productions of Shakespeare typically isolates Shakespeare from the rest of the repertory. My thesis illuminates how late-Victorian performances of Shakespeare and contemporary Victorian drama conditioned each other. I re-interrogate iconoclastic performances of Shakespeare’s heroines to reveal actresses’ performance networks, showing how actresses’ movements between fin-de-siècle roles created consonances between ostensibly antithetical areas of the repertoire. The performances and receptions of British actresses with high cultural capital reveal Shakespeare’s interventions into fin-de-siècle debates on gender and sexuality. Highlighting female performance genealogies, I offer the first narrative of women’s acting traditions in Shakespeare. I explore actresses’ commercial strategising, celebrity personae, theatrical innovations and contributions to Shakespearean hermeneutics. The thesis draws on significant unpublished archival material, including from private collections. Chapter One examines how the ostensibly puritanical Madge Kendal and Royal mistress Lillie Langtry used the role of Rosalind (As You Like It) within a portfolio of self-promotional strategies, inscribing their professional legitimacy and dramatising different sexual identities. Chapter Two explores how Terry’s Lady Macbeth (1888–9), interpreted as a loving wife, challenged theatrical semiotics, contemporary ideals of marriage, and perceptions of ‘good’ and ‘bad’ women. Chapter Three, on Mrs Patrick Campbell, demonstrates the success of her movements between the ‘sex-problem play’ and Shakespeare, revealing how her Shakespeare reception reflected fin-de-siècle concerns as the unwell body and mind, the figure of Salome, and the child – as both a sexual object and potentially suicidal. Chapter Four, on Terry’s Imogen (Cymbeline) discusses Shakespearean actresses’ contribution to ideas of national character and queenship, as Queen Victoria’s reign neared its end, including specific milestones such as the 1897 Diamond Jubilee. Chapter Five examines Shakespeare’s intersections with the ‘New Woman’, commodity culture and politics, as suffragists co-opted Shakespeare as a ‘suffrage’ playwright, with The Winter’s Tale’s Paulina as their icon.

Abstract:
In 1926 the Kruger National Park in South Africa became the first national park in Africa to accept visitors. Since that date there has been a propaganda campaign to convince people outside of the administration of the importance of the national park project and the value of the wildlife inside the parks. As a large tract of land in a land-hungry region of the country, the Kruger Park required both political and public support to ensure its survival. This attempt to communicate with the public is the subject of my thesis. The idea of the national park, and the natural world that it contained, altered dramatically since 1926. At times the message was tightly managed, and at others that control was loosened. As various interests intervened and encroached, new discourses developed and struggled for influence. Contained within the messages around the park and its wildlife were ulterior strands and ideologies that impacted in various ways on the idea of the national park. Nationalism, race, gender, class and status all became constituent parts of a heterogeneous construction. My thesis interrogates those strands within the discourse on the Kruger National Park. In 1967 the Manyeleti game reserve, on the western borders of the Kruger Park, became the first segregated game reserve for the exclusive use of black South Africans. Through this parallel project African visitors, who had been generally ignored in the Kruger Park setting, became the focus of propaganda efforts intended for a black audience. Race, gender, and class merged with the environmental messages in this unique setting to create new directions in conservationist rhetoric. My thesis sets these diverse messages communicated at Manyeleti alongside those transmitted through and about the Kruger Park.

Abstract:
Where and how can the live experience 'being there' be positioned in Scottish live art culture? Such transformatively liminal corporeity is situated in three examples of performative objects intrinsically linked to readings of Scottish identity. By collating a 'blood culture imprint' of 1970s performance art with Scottish live artist Alastair McLennan's positioning of the artist body as art, the thesis presents a revised understanding of how and where the live can be placed within Highland Gaelic culture. The specificity of this frame is intrinsically linked to the 'blood culture imprint' of Culloden and as such presents a liminal outworking in the three examples chosen which collectively portray an object body in the form of a textual anatomy of 'Scotland' or 'Alba'. Using contemporary live art discourse, the ontological origins of performance art in Scotland are situated as potentially live within the transfixed frame of the thesis itself, thereby positioning the authorship and readership of its contents as a revivifying act per se, reflecting the theoretical argument. I will argue that despite a seeming lack of performance art tradition in Scotland, this 'blood culture imprint' of the 1970s can be used to define Culloden and post- Culloden culture as necessarily animated by instances of live art. The examples chosen are James Clerk Maxwell's first colour photograph of a tartan ribbon, scalping survivor Scotsman Robert McGee's cabinet card and James MacPherson's Ossian repositioned as a post-genocide numinous wish text. Each performative object betrays its ontological origins, displaying a textual anatomy which argues that collating a performer body of 'Alba' can demonstrate a fundamental and historical performance culture.

Abstract:
This chapter examines the literary technique of ekphrasis, defining it in terms of its intended effect on the audience: the vivid representation of an image to the mind’s eye, so as to evoke an emotional or other response. Ekphrasis makes an object appear present to an audience; it can be rich in detail or deftly brief. Both modes engage the audience in the imaginative recreation of the object, person or scene in their mind. This chapter also examines other aspects of crafting a text using ekphrasis: order, variety, and reading objects as texts. It argues that ekphrasis prompts questions about the thing described: Who is the maker? Who is the observer? And why is it absent?

Abstract:
Recreation behavior simulation (RBSim) is a computer program that simulates the behavior of human recreators in high-use natural environments. Specifically RBSim uses concepts from recreation research and artificial intelligence (AI) and combines them with geographic information systems (GIS) to produce an integrated system for exploring the interactions between different recreation user groups within geographic space. RBSim joins two computer technologies: • Geographic information systems to represent the environment, and • Autonomous agents to simulate human behavior within geographic space. RBSim demonstrates the potential of combining the two technologies to explore the complex interactions between humans and the environment. The implications of this technology should also be applicable to the study of wildlife populations and other systems where there are complex interactions in the environment. RBSim uses autonomous agents to simulate recreator behavior. An autonomous agent is a computer simulation that is based on concepts from artificial life research. Agent simulations are built using object-oriented programming technology. The agents are autonomous because, once they are programmed, they can move about the landscape like software robots. The agents can gather data from their environment, make decisions from this information, and change their behavior according to the situation in which they find themselves. Each individual agent has its own physical mobility, sensory, and cognitive capabilities. This results in actions that echo the behavior of real animals (in this case, humans) in the environment. The process of building an agent is iterative and combines knowledge derived from empirical data with the intuition of the programmer. By continuing to program knowledge and rules into the agent, watching the behavior resulting from these rules, and comparing it to what is known about actual behavior, a rich and complex set of behaviors emerge. What is compelling about this type of simulation is that it is impossible to predict the behavior of any single agent in the simulation and, by observing the interactions between agents, it is possible to draw conclusions that are impossible using any other analytical process. RBSim is important because, until now, there have been no tools for recreation managers and researchers to systematically investigate different recreation management options.

Augmented reality (AR) has shown to be a facilitating tool and motivation to work with children, young people, and adults in times of recreation (entertainment) and also in classrooms (formal spaces of education). Augmented reality provides a different way of learning with the support of different technologies such as computers, tablets, and smartphones. It allows easy visualization and manipulation of the study object, reproducing the complex data in the form of objects and three-dimensional texts, increasing the student's ability to perceive, which is stimulated by the possibility of interaction with the interface. This chapter aims to present the different augmented reality technologies used in education and also to discuss methodologies for the use of augmented reality applications to improve the teaching and learning process.

Interactive Digital Television (iDTV) has facilitated and expanded the communication and interaction in activities of knowledge acquisitions, entertainment, and recreation in the distance learning field. This new way of teaching and learning has been called t-Learning. In this context, the Learning Objects (LOs) have an important role in assisting in the electronic courses' development. Due the fast progress of e-Learning, some efforts toward standardization have appeared in order to enable the reusability of educational contents and interoperability among systems, and one of these standards is the Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM). Therefore, the main goal of this work is to present an extension of SCORM aiming to adapt it to improve the search and navigation of LOs with educational content for t-Learning. This is done through an authoring tool named T-SCORM ADAPTER, which is able to apply this extension in a fast and efficient way.

The invention of the wheel is frequently cited as a seminal turning point in the history of human development, but that grand event was surely predated by an equally important occurrence: the first time a man managed to climb onto a horse’s back and ride the animal an appreciable distance without falling off. Since that long-ago day in the misty past, horses have become an integral part of human society, providing us with recreation, sport, companionship, a means of transportation, an ally in war, and an aid to labor, as well as supplying an object lesson in the appreciation of beauty. Simply looking at horses makes a person feel better....

Interactive, dynamic computer simulations hold a unique position between test environment and explicit design. They serve a broad variety of applications, from scientific knowledge production to education, training, therapy, and recreation. Although the process by which simulations are produced is also taken into view, the foreground is devoted not to mathematical and technical components as explored in computer science or computational visualistics, but rather to the sensory aspects of the realization. The focus is on the aspects of simulations that can be experienced by the senses: in the optic, acoustic, haptic, or, more broadly, sensory-motor impressions. For the most part iconicity plays a dominant role in these interactive configurations that require a complex, transformable '(re)acting' object beyond mere navigability.

Abstract:
This chapter examines the prisoner of war (POW) camps of the First World War that became the temporary homes of officers. POWs creatively sustained prewar class and gender roles through the production and use of domestic objects and clothing in internment camps. Indeed, letters of the POW officers portray almost without exception the attempts to structure daily activities according to civilian patterns. Amidst the uncertainties and dislocations of captivity, POW officers and civilian internees relied on artifacts to perform meaningful social scripts and deployed them to articulate a range of emotions and identities. Although these scripts had multiple collective and personal meanings, many of them were aimed at sustaining prewar notions of “normalcy,” “respectability,” and productive masculinity. However, because these social scripts emanated from the prewar bi-gender world, recreating them in one-gender settings often led to transgressions of respectable masculinity.

Abstract:
The primary goal of this research was to evaluate the effectiveness of a low-cost reverse engineering system to recreate a physical, three-dimensional model of a human hand. In order to achieve the goal of this research, three key objectives were fulfilled: (1) the first objective was to recreate the physical model of the human hand using a low-cost experimental setup (<$5000), (2) the second objective was to assess the ability of the reverse engineered hand to perform common tasks of everyday life, and (3) the third objective was to investigate the potential biomedical applications of the reverse engineered human hand. A chosen test subject had his or her hand molded and cast into a plaster three-dimensional model that could be held steady and scanned very precisely by a NextEngine Desktop 3D Scanner. Other methods could have been employed to achieve the scanned model, but given the experimental setup and timeline a casted model was assumed to be the most appropriate method to achieve the best results. The plaster casting of the subject’s hand was scanned several times using different orientations of the model relative to the stationary 3D scanner. From these scans, a computer CAD model of the human hand was generated, modified, and 3D printed using a Makerbot Replicator 2. The printed model was evaluated by its ability to perform common every-day tasks such as picking up a cup/bottle, holding a pen/pencil, or opening/closing around an object. Several iterations of the printed human hand were evaluated in order to determine the best design for the fingers’ joints and cable-driven motion system. The first iteration of the printed hand featured a snap-in joint system. This joint design suffered from requiring a large number of individual pieces and poor tolerances of the Makerbot printer. The second iteration featured a press fit style joint system. This system was hindered by tolerances similar to the first iteration as well as plastic deformation of the printed material due to inadequate elasticity. The third and final iteration of the joint system featured a single printed assembly for which the entire prosthetic could be printed at one time. It was expected that the hand would be able to translate the rotational movement of an individual’s wrist to tension the cables of the motion system thereby closing the fingers into a first. This movement will allow the user to close the prosthetic hand around everyday objects and pick them up with relative ease. Although the possibilities of reverse engineering and 3D printing systems have greatly expanded as a result of greater affordability and increased accuracy, their applications in the biomedical field have yet to be fully explored.

Abstract:
This paper reacts to the recent trend in tourism in the form of agritourism. This branch of rural tourism has been increasing in the last decade and is becoming more attractive in the connotation to the growth of the urban population rate. Urban citizens of towns gradually seek out places close to nature for their recreation and relaxation. The presence of urban visitors and their sojourn in rural areas generate for farmers resp. entrepreneurs offering agritourism services an additional income and represent a diversification of their business. So, there is no doubt about the positive benefits of agritourism for both supply and demand. This paper, therefore, aims to observe and analyse the agritourism supply, and after data synthesis to describe the actual implementation of this form of tourism. The South Moravian Region was chosen as a research area. The goal was achieved by own data database of 23 surveyed objects, which were the only ones that fulfilled the criteria set on the background of the literature search. The object had to offer accommodation, provide relevant information on its own website and during the visit, there should be an interaction between the visitor and the domestic animals (e.g. in the form of a mini-zoo, observation, etc.). The results confirmed that, despite considerable diversity (e.g. in terms of capacity indicators, so the number of beds or rooms), agritourism serves as a cheaper alternative to vacation and provides some typical activities, such as horse riding.

Abstract:
The article discusses the theoretical and applied aspects of a new approach to the management of tourist and recreational systems based on a network-centric model. The model is based on the application of a network structure of information exchanges between tourist enterprises, consumers of tourist services and marketing organizations. In this network structure, clusters or aggregations of objects consisting of homogeneous small and medium-sized tourist enterprises are distinguished. The principle of self-synchronization in the network-centric construction of management in tourist and recreational systems is considered. The concept of "tourist and recreational attractor” is introduced. The strategy of "borrowing" in the application of mechanisms for the diffusion of innovations and advanced tourist and recreational technologies in the tourism industry of Russian regions is justified. A multi-network scheme of innovative development of the tourist and recreational sphere, including the educational segment, is proposed. The tourist and recreational system is considered at the municipal level. A multi-network scheme of innovative development of the tourist and recreational sphere, including the educational segment, is proposed. Approbation of the research results was carried out within the framework of tourist and recreational design of the Moscow and Tver regions municipalities. It is concluded that the network-centric concept, being innovative, has a high applied value and allows solving existing problems in their interrelation, providing competitive indicators (the volume of tourism, employment of supporting personnel, the size of investments). The results obtained in the study can be successfully replicated at the regional level of tourism and recreation management.

Abstract:
The paper is produced based on the authors’ research “Assessment of the Introduction of the Rural Development Programme 2007–2013 Activity “Local Development Strategy” by the Partnership of Rezekne District Communities and Proposals for its Further Development”. Research on the activity of local action groups (LAGs) and their influence on the overall development of regional territories became urgent in recent years, given the implementation of the European programme LEADER. The research object of the paper is a LAG – the Partnership of Rezekne District Communities – that is located in Latvia, Latgale region. The research aim is to assess the strategy of the local action group. The research employed the monographic and descriptive methods as well as analysis, synthesis, the graphic method, data grouping and a sociological research method – a questionnaire survey. A survey of project submitters identified three major fields in which it is planned to submit and implement projects in the next programming period in the LAG’s territory. They are: promotion of active recreation and sports; reconstruction of the territory; and organisation of and contribution to cultural events. The surveyed residents agreed with the following assertions regarding their lifestyle: an enhanced surrounding environment and natural, cultural and other significant historical objects foster tourism; the establishment and functioning of youth centres contribute to useful spending of leisure time by youths and their communication; the availability of sport and fitness equipment and of sports grounds increases local residents’ interest and wish to practise a healthy and physically active lifestyle. Based on the data acquired and the interpretation of findings, proposals were made for the further development of the territory as well as the research methodology was explained for the purpose of carrying out analogues research studies in the future.

Abstract:
The article presents the issues of recreational development and ecological conditions of the Livadijskij Ridge. Livadijskij is a popular tourist destination of Primorskij Krai. On the mountain Livadijskaya also known as Pidan on certain days you can count more than a thousand people. At the foot of Litovka (second name is Falaza) built many recreation centers, allowing to take a significant number of tourists. According to the results of longterm observations, there is a tendency to increase the flow of people. The growth of the flow of tourists with underdeveloped tourist infrastructure have an adverse impact on the landscapes of the ridge. Littering and destruction of soil are only part of existing problems. A more significant problem is fires coming mainly from adjacent agricultural land. The creation of national park Livadijskij can help to solve existing problems and prevent the development of new ones. This question has been researched by different authors since 80s of the last century. Proposals for the protection of territory included various forms. According to the authors of this article, the creation of a national park will be the best option. It will help to preserve the nature of the territories, leaving the opportunity for residents and guests of the region to enjoy the rest on the ridge. The ecological load will also be reduced by the creation and equipment of the ecological trail. Based on the examples of Russian and foreign practice, we propose a route called the Great Livadijskij trail. A wide view from the peaks, waterfalls, unique flora and fauna and a variety of landscapes all this makes the Livadijskij ridge a promising object for further development of tourism, but it also requires a more careful attitude to the environment.

E-mail: catalina.montoyaarenas@upb.edu.co, lina.escobar@upb.edu.co, claudia.ve7@gmail.com Keywords (3-5): Cultural landscape, social management, heritage, spacial transformations, tourism Conference topics and scale: Stages in territorial configuration The historic center of Marinilla, National Monument since 1959, is located sixty minutes from Medellin at San Nicolas Valley. It has exceptional landscape conditions, highly productive lands, and a large percentage of the water reserve that supplies the region and the country, giving the territory an economic center character since the colony. These physical values make part of collective imagination as a recreation area and an opportunity for development in the 1960s, according to the construction of large national infrastructure works. At the same time, it was object of armed conflict in the 1980s and 1990s, and more recently, directly related to the spatial dynamics of the region: unplanned urban expansion, changes in land use and vegetation cover, with effects on the cultural landscape. In a post-conflict situation, the economic strategies of different actors trust on tourism as a social-spatial management strategy to improve the territory. However, the identity of rurality shows spatial imbalances without recognizing elements of historical construction whose legacies must be revealed to ensure equitable development. To do this, we propose an approach from the cultural landscape in a revision of the historical, symbolic and relational transformation through five systems (anthropic, productive, political, symbolic and spatial), analyzing competitiveness, tourism, landscape and social management, in different scales and during three historical moments.
