In the surviving corpus of Attic black- and red-figure pottery are found ninety unusual and quite rare images of satyrs. What distinguishes these images from other representations of satyrs are the attributes with which the satyrs are shown: weapons and athletic equipment. Swedish bumblebees have now been inventoried through a nationwide monitoring program for which data for the first time have been analysed. The aim here was to give an indication of how 35 bumblebee species in Sweden have changed in occurrence over five years interval in the national inventory program. Color removal of some reactive dyes (Blue 19, Black 5 and Red 195) using a local Poly Aluminium Chloride (PAC) was investigated with Jar-test experiment. The dyes were removed (above 94%) at optimal pH 7 (Red 195) and pH 10 (Blue 19 and Black 5). The PAC dosage of 220 mg/L (Blue 19 and Black 5) and 160 mg/L (Red 195) were found to be best for decreasing dye up to 50 mg/L (Black 5, Red 195) and 100 mg/L (Blue 19). The genus Restrepia is well known to orchid enthusiasts but its micromorphology has not been described, and its pollination and breeding systems have not been investigated. The aim of this investigation was, therefore, to add to existing knowledge so that the resultant data could be used to facilitate ex situ conservation initiatives. A detailed electron microscopy study (SEM) of the floral organs was performed. The unparalleled technological maturity of silicon (Si) can be exploited to develop CMOS-compatible optoelectronics such as photodetectors and imaging arrays. However, the low-attenuation wavelengths commonly used in fibre-optics (up to 1650 nm) fall below the 1.12 eV band gap of Si (efficient absorption only occurs at wavelengths less than 1100 nm), thus requiring the realisation of sub-band gap photoresponse. In 1817, the fifth Earl of Selkirk and certain Saulteaux chiefs negotiated the Selkirk Treaty to secure the existence of a fragile Euro-Canadian settlement near the confluence of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers. Sand- och grustäkter kan fungera som tillflyktsort för kärlväxtarter som är beroende av de torra och näringsfattiga markförhållanden som finns i sandmarker.
