The method of a test must be evaluated and tested to ensure that the method is capable of producing valid data. So that validation needs to be done as a quality control that provides assurance that the measurements and results obtained are reliable. This study aims to determine the value and comparison of the values of linearity, accuracy, and precision of the titrimetric and spectrophotometric methods in COD analysis. Determination of the COD value for the titrimetric method was carried out by redox titration using a solution of Ferro Ammonium Sulphate (FAS). While the spectrophotometric meth

Ascorbic acid is one of the most important vitamins to the human body due to its potentially protective role as an antioxidant. Oranges by far the most important citrus species are an excellent source of ascorbic acid. The ascorbic acid in three varieties of Ghanaian local oranges was estimated after storage under four different storage conditions. The storage conditions were deep freezing, dark cupboard, open shelf and in the sun. The redox titrimetric method using potassium iodide as the titrant and starch as an indicator was employed to evaluate the ascorbic acid levels in the orange sample

High sugar consumption increases the chance of developing diabetes, hypertension, obesity and cancer, as well as cavities and bacterial plaque between teeth. Considering the increase in health problems related to sugar intake in the population, the objective of this work was to monitor the presence and amount of sugar in baby food based on fruits and vegetables from different companies sold in Brazil. Titrimetric methods (Lane-Eynon) and total sugar content were used, based on total soluble solids (TSS) in degrees Brix. In the titration method, it was possible to quantify reducing and non-redu

L-ascorbic acid is one of the essential nutrients and most common food supplements, fortificants, and preservatives. It is commercially available as solutions, drops, tablets, capsules, crystal powder, beverage mixtures, multivitamin formulations, and multi antioxidant formulations. The usual daily dose is from 25 mg to 1.5 g. Ascorbic acid is a distinctly reducing agent with low redox potential (0.18 and 0.08 V at pH 4.5 and 6.4, respectively). Based on ascorbate property, numerous methods for its quantitative determination are developed, from titrimetric, electrochemical, and chromatographic

Redox titration is one of the most common classical methods widely used in practice for the determination of total iron. A well-known procedure ISO 2597-1 (GOST 32517) includes the decomposition of a sample with dissolution, the reduction of Fe3+ to Fe2+ using a SnCl2 solution and its titration with a K2Cr2O7 solution in the presence of sodium or barium diphenylaminosulfonate as an indicator. We propose to use potassium tetrahydroborate KBH4 as a reducing agent for Fe3+ to Fe2+ instead of SnCl2 to modify a titrimetric method of total iron determination. The role of vitamin C for the functioning of the human body is outlined. The antioxidant properties of vitamin C are thought to be a key factor in neutralizing free radicals and peroxide compounds, protecting cells from oxidative stress. It also replenishes other antioxidants, such as vitamins E and glutathione. It is a cofactor for enzymes involved in collagen synthesis. It is necessary for the normal functioning of the skin, bones, cartilage, tooth enamel and blood vessels. The main objective of this study was to determine the suitability of using 3% acid-alcohol in iodine redox titrimetric determination of L-ascorbic quantities in chlorophyll-green vegetables. The main challenge in the protocol has been detection of titration end-point vegetables samples with high concentration of chlorophyll in the leaves. Chlorophyll doesn’t contrast with the blue-black color noticed at the end-point. This project therefore developed a modified iodine titration procedure that enhances the accuracy of end-point detection using an acid-alcohol. The analysis of vitamin C content
