Abstract:
This study examined references found in three journals in the field of Spanish and Latin American literary studies. Few previous studies have examined types of publishers producing highly cited/referenced books. The data indicate that the primary publishers of scholarly monographs referenced in the journals are U.S. university presses, foreign academic trade presses, and foreign popular trade presses. U.S. university presses, foreign academic trade presses, and government entities published most of the volumes of collected essays referenced. Scholarly monographs published outside the U.S. represented the largest proportions of references, with large growth in references to volumes of collected essays published in the United States. References to English-language materials increased significantly from 1970 to 2000.

Abstract:
An analysis of 447 books in arts/humanities, science/technology, the social sciences, and generalities determined how frequently and for what purpose cross-references were used in back-of-book indexes. Of 376 indexes examined, 300 included cross-references. The average index had 32 cross-references per index or 96 cross-references per 1,000 text pages. Of the three major subject areas, cross-references most commonly occurred in science/technology indexes. ‘See’ references were surprisingly dominant over ‘see also’, especially in science/technology and the social sciences. The references made many kinds of links, most often to show synonomy, class membership, and agent/activity relationships. It is encouraging that many indexes have cross-references, but name indexes could have more.

Abstract:
Coptic literature abounds with references to books that never existed as physical objects in their own right. This article explores the role of fictional books specifically in a selection of Coptic apocrypha deriving from the entire period of Coptic literary production. Whether presented as apostolic, prophetic, or angelic; earthly or heavenly; historical or contemporary, references to fictional books could function as veracity devices, authority claims, or as materials for storyworld creation. Taking as its points of departure recent work on pseudo-documentarism, transnarrative storyworlds, and the cognitive effects of fiction, this article explores implicit claims to authority and authenticity, as well as the fuzzy boundaries and interrelationships between fictional and factual references in meaning- and world-making.

Abstract:
The library can be referred to as a storage place for books and other references. The reference can be in the form of digital storage media. Libraries if not managed properly will cause chaos in the library organization. Many books were lost due to the entry and exit of books that were out of control. Currently, the library is not only a place to store books but can be maximized by managing and adding other digital devices. The use of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) in libraries adds sophistication to the management of books and library items. In addition, currently many libraries have taken advantage of Internet of Things Technology, by adding various sensors and integrating with cloud-based storage devices. It provides a service that makes it easy for library members to find and track the current whereabouts of books. This research does not only create a library by providing hardware in the form of sensors to be installed in the library. This paper also proposes the use of smartphones as an alternative in replacing sensor hardware. This study uses a QR Code sensor to match the book you are looking for and simulates dancing a book in blocks and bookcases. with augmented reality. The purpose of this research is to make a smart library prototype to make it easier for library members to find books or other references. The results of the experiment to find books and DVDs that have been carried out achieve an accuracy of 83.33%.

When there is a choice, does a back-of-book indexer use a duplicate entry or a see reference? Guidelines suggest that it is preferable to use the duplicate entry if it would not add to the length or complexity of the index. The author studied 1,100 see references in 202 back-of-book indexes and concluded that 22% of the see references should have been replaced by duplicate entries. Failure to select a duplicate entry instead of a see reference occurs most frequently in science and technology books and in indexes with no subheadings.

Abstract Marks that readers leave in books are instructive documents with regard to what readers did with them, how they came in contact with them, and how those books have come down to us. These traces reflect past readers’ attempts to relate to their act of reading while also establishing references to the texts themselves. In retrospect, historians can understand books as mobile vitae, that is, as products created not by an author alone, but also by a network of references that the physical volumes acquired along their transmission history. References of this kind can also help us understand why and how certain books we are interested in today have become objects of our interest.

Abstract:
Mothers and teachers play a pivotal role in promoting preschool children’s theory of mind. This study explored and compared mothers’ and teachers’ mental-state discourse during storybook reading with children, focusing on their use of mental terms and references to three mental-state aspects: false belief, mental causality, and different points of view. Participants were 60 mothers and their children, and 60 teachers and 300 preschoolers. Mothers read the book to one child and teachers read the same book to groups of 5 children. The book involved a central false-belief theme. Main findings revealed that mothers and teachers elaborated on book-related mental states. However, teachers’ discourse included more mental terms and more references to mental causality and different people’s perspectives. The findings suggest that reading books with rich mental-state contents encourages rich discourse on mental-state elements. Parents and teachers should be guided in how to use their unique knowledge and relationships with children to enrich their mediation of books’ mental-state aspects and discuss them with children.

This study specifically reports on the referencing accuracy to examine the breached APA sixth edition formatting references rules produced by English language and literature undergraduate students. This study was frame in Aronsky et.al (2005) employed a qualitative descriptive method to describe the breaches and the most breached rules. The selection of data samples was obtained from undergraduate thesis of nine students in English language and literature program in a private college in Bandung. The results showed that the students breached six formatting general rules: 1) not on a new page (3.23%), 2) incorrect formation of the section name (29.03%), 3) spacing errors (22.58%), 4) not listed alphabetically (19.35%), 5) indentation errors (16.13%), and 6) incorrect recording of the entries (9.68%). While based on the type of source, 20 rules in total were breached, which spread in six types of sources i.e., 1) periodicals, 2) books, reference books, and book chapters, 3) technical and research reports, 4) doctoral dissertation/ master’s thesis, 5) document from web site, and 6) unclear sources. Furthermore, the most breached APA sixth edition formatting references rules are incorrect formation of the section name (29.03%), incorrect formation of book, reference books, and book chapters (17.44%). The result tracks well with Aronsky et.al (2005) that formatting a paper in APA style can be tricky.

Abstract:
Abstract This article focusses on the distribution of Sino-European books in the broad scholarly world: how did these books that are intercultural regarding authorship, content, and material aspect, reach their potential readers? And how widely were these books distributed? It investigates the extent to which these books were included in private libraries from the late Ming until the mid-Qing (1582–c.1823). Book printing had become very efficient in the second half of the sixteenth century and collecting books, both in printed and manuscript form, had become one of the favourite hobbies of (retired) scholars. Some of them accumulated very large libraries, and the catalogues of a few of these have been preserved. Thirty-seven of the still extant catalogues of these libraries contain references to Sino-European books. These references provide the opportunity to investigate the distribution of such intercultural texts over a span of two hundred and fifty years. This article begins with a general presentation of these catalogues. Subsequently, individual catalogues are described in chronological order. When possible, a description is included of the collector’s link with European missionaries or Chinese Christians, as it is through these connections that the intercultural encounters around these texts took place. Next, by tracing the frequency of appearance of the works, this article explores what the extant catalogues can tell us about the distribution of Sino-European books. Finally, the focus moves to the ways the collectors classified these works in their catalogues. By investigating the bibliographic categories, this analysis reveals the intercultural negotiations that took place in the creation of the Sino-European book world.

Abstract:
The purpose of the present study was to identify the core references in introductory textbooks in two sub-disciplines of psychology: social psychology and developmental psychology. One research question was the extent to which the common references in these textbooks present the trends in contemporary research in each sub-discipline. An analysis of the reference sections of 10 introductory social psychology textbooks and 15 developmental psychology textbooks found a small set of common references for each subject area. The results yielded three additional effects. First, there were more common references across social psychology textbooks than across developmental psychology textbooks. Second, authors of social psychology textbooks used journal articles as common references more often than books, whereas authors of developmental psychology textbooks used books as common references more than journal articles. Third, the majority of the core references were published prior to 2000. Implications of these findings for teachers of psychology were discussed.

Abstract:
The present article will analyze the intertextual dimension in the work of the Lithuanian essayist G. Radvilavičiūtė, especially focusing on her most successful book, Šiąnakt aš miegosiu prie sienos. In the introduction a brief review of U. Eco’s ideas on intertextuality will be presented, paying special attention to the notions of metafiction, dialogism, double coding, and intertextual irony. Within this theoretical framework, the main intertextual strategies used in Radvilavičiūtė’s book are examined in the core of the study. Particular attention will be paid to dialogism; for this strategy a detailed classification based on the two parameters of target and modality will be proposed. Then a peculiar kind of intertextuality is presented: while the author frequently makes a conscious and obvious use of references to other texts, I will suggest that it could also be possible to find traces of unconscious “intertextual echoes”. To demonstrate this, some similarities with V. Nabokov’s novel Laughter in the Dark are discussed. Such similarities could be due to an unconscious influence of this novel on the author (in this case they would be “echoes”), or to pure coincidence. In both cases, however, this is an interesting instance of hermeneutic cooperation between the author and the reader. Far from diminishing Radvilavičiūtė’s flourishing creativity, these considerations reinforce the idea that any open text calls for the addressee’s cooperation. Hence, the reader not only decodes intertextuality, but also actively creates a net of references that sometimes go beyond the author’s (conscious) intentions.

Although the risk is a probability science that may occur and may not occur, the uncertainty must still go through an appropriate assessment so that it can be a preparation for all parties involved in the activity. Therefore, a book on risk management was chosen in this review that specifically discusses risk management in medium and small companies. Because not many books discuss risk management in that scope specifically, it is worth discussing to open the insights of small and medium entrepreneurs, as well as academics, that risk management in that scope also needs to be studied in depth. In addition, given that the publisher of this book is the leading publisher (Routledge) in the field of academic books, there is no doubt about the book's quality in general. Abstract:
Objectives This study aimed to examine how children perceive the gender of human and non-human characters while reading picture books. Methods Children’s perception was observed through reading out two different picture books for 48 children of Y kindergarten and S kindergarten in S city, in a primary large-group session and secondary small-group session, then a repetitive and active verbal interaction afterward. Results Children displayed a tendency to perceive the gender of the human characters in picture books based on social constructs. Male children largely focused on references to conventions and social constructs, whereas female children focused on visual features such as reference to illustrations, colors, clothes, and physical attributes. In the case of non-human characters, social constructs and references to illustrations had an equivalent degree of influence on the perception of gender. Male children used references to conventions as evidence to perceive the characters’ gender, while female children used references to illustrations and clothes. Conclusions By understanding children’s perception of the gender of human and non-human characters in picture books, this study can contribute to composing a children’s literary education curriculum that pursues diversity to diminish gender stereotypes, and deepening meaningful literary interactions with children from the perspective of gender sensitivity.

Libraries have books that are references or sources of knowledge that they want to know, sometimes even this information cannot be searched on the internet so that the number of books in the library is very large. With so many books in the library, of course, a system is needed to organize all the books so that these books can be recorded properly so as to reduce the risk of book census errors such as the number of books, borrowers, categories and also the delivery of more detailed information for books. because of that, it takes an information system design for a library. In designing an information system, a concept or research method is needed that can minimize mistakes in the flow of application creation, the method used is Waterfall modeling of this method, an application is made using Java Netbeans with MySQL database. By using this method, the application can run according to the flow, namely the details of the books in the library are in harmony with the actual situation and a decrease in data errors resulting in the loss of some information in the library such as the number of books, the number of borrowings, book details and so on. It makes it easier for users to find the information they want.

Abstract:
This article argues that the analysis of books 22/23 of Ab Vrbe Condita reveals no solid evidence to trace Livy's narrative about the First Macedonian War to the Histories, a series of books written by Polybius. Conversely, the analysis of book 24 reveals a chapter (24.40) that matches our knowledge about Livy's later adaptation of the Greek author’s style. However, this chapter also contains some important differences with what we know about later episodes in books 26-29 that also deal with the First Macedonian War. Moreover, the chapter in book 24 is isolated from other references to the war between books 23-25. For these reasons, is contended that, if Livy knew the Histories when writing thefirst pentad of thethird decade, he used them very little when dealing with theinitial movements of the First MacedonianWar (216-212 BC). This situation, in turn, has important implications for the study of the relationship between both authors in the problematic third decade

So we interpret the XIV Book as a different representation of the power : passage of the malevolent power of Circe to the power of the king Romulus whose apotheosis shows the positive aspects.

Keats’s poems written in the years leading up to his annus mirabilis, 1819, frequently feature books, but those references and images vanish from his poetic production in 1819 and the subsequent publication of that verse in his 1820 volume. This essay attempts to account for that shift in his poetics by exploring Keats’s relation to his friend and mentor Leigh Hunt, proposing that this poetic shift attends Keats’s political departure from Hunt’s privatised, metropolitan imagination in favour of a more public and egalitarian poetics of dispossession.

Abstract:
This paper criticizes the views of previous researchers regarding the book Tafsir Tarjuman Mustafid by Syekh Abdurrauf As-Singkili, this book is declared not a book of interpretation and is a translation of several other books of interpretation. To set it straight, the author describes the references and uniqueness of the Tafsir Tarjuman book with samples of Surah al-Fatihah and al-Baqarah which are discussed in detail.analysis. Research on references aims to analyze the sources of quotations contained in the book and the uniqueness aims to present the character of Sheikh Abdurrauf As-Singkili's interpretation in interpreting the verses of the Koran in the Tafsir Tarjuman Mustafid book. To achieve this goal, the author uses a type of literature research with a qualitative nature and uses a library method for data collection techniques that come from primary data and secondary data. After all the data needed is collected, then use the pattern tahlili in data management then the findings are described in the form of analysis. The results of the writing show that, it is true that there were errors from previous researchers regarding their views, the author's findings can prove that it was true that as-Singkili interpreted ayat by ayat and word by word and other commentary books were only used as references, and even found many uniqueness in his interpretationsBased on the results of the writing, there are several references from al-Baiḍawi 6 times, al-Khazin 21 times, al-Jalalain 2 times and Manafi' Alquran as well as aṡ-Ṡa'labi 2 times. All references are collected as a complement to the interpretation of as-Singkili to make it easier to understand . As for the uniqueness, it is divided into two discussions, namely: a) the uniqueness of the presentation which is equipped with signs such as, interest, story, beginning, as for, the word, that is, the above and tanbih, all the signs are packed in parentheses so that they are easy to find, b) the uniqueness of the content the interpretation of as-Singkili includes special features in the explanation of surat, ayat, interpretations, ikhtilaf qiraat, asbabun nuzul, kisah and nasikh mansukh, all tend to have the same pattern and words in the beginning and end of the explanation so that it is easy to understand even by the general public. Abstract:
The purpose of this bibliography is to provide researchers, career counsellors and others interested in career transitions in sport with an annotated reference list on the topic. In 1980, McPherson reported that an extensive literature search generated 20 references pertaining to this area, and that few of these citations were empirical studies. As previously outlined by Lavallee, Sinclair and Wylleman (1998), in conjunction with the Special Interest Group on Career Transitions in Sport, a total of 221 references (93 counselling-based references; 128 empirical references) have recently been identified on the topic of career transitions in sport, including 80 conference presentations (e.g. papers, posters and proceedings), 59 journal articles (19 sociology articles, 16 psychology articles and 24 articles on other topics), 27 book chapters/books, 12 monographs/reports, 28 dissertations/theses and 15 other citations (e.g. magazine articles). In order to document the recent resurgence in the area, as well as highlight the seminal references on career transitions in sport, a decision was made to include all references from 1965 to 1997 in the bibliography. References focusing on the career transition of coaches and dancers were also included due to the applied and empirical similarities documented in the literature on career transitions of athletes.

Abstract:
Abstract This article considers the place that sermons held in the early modern book market through a quantitative survey of the title pages of sermon-books published in English between 1620 and 1642. Working from an EEBO dataset, this research examines four features of title pages: (a) dating referents, (b) location referents, (c) references to the living or status of the preacher, and (d) whether the books were collections. This research demonstrates that the vast majority of sermon-books declared their place of preaching (74%) and the occasion of their preaching (67%). This article explores how the book-buying public’s interest in novelty and the initial performance of the sermon shaped the use of paratextual material. It proposes that the printed sermon makes the page into a privately accessible space to connect with the publicly experienced communal time of the performed sermon, counteracting the desacralizing effect of the press.

Abstract:
One of the facility units that acts as a supporter of student learning in a university is the library. The library is a place where there are various collections of libraries that can enrich the knowledge of visitors. Thus, the management of additional collections is important in supporting this. Currently, the addition of book collections in the UNG Engineering Faculty Library is only based on references from statistical data on best-selling books, lecturer recommendations and the latest books without considering which collections are of interest to students. This can have a negative impact if there are additional collections in categories or types of books that are less desirable to read which can cause problems from the service side and financial losses of the library. Moving on from this problem, the K-Means clustering method will be applied to classify the reading interest of library visitors in this case are students. The supporting variables that will be used in the grouping will be divided according to the origin of the student majors by category of books, stock, number of books borrowed and number of books read. This grouping is expected to be a recommendation for library managers in managing the addition of book collections in the UNG Faculty of Engineering library.

Abstract:
Kitab kuning viewed as theory and values contributor that followed al-Quran and Hadis Nabi as a background. In pesantren world, kitab kuning position are very strategic because it used as text book, references, and curriculum within pesantren education system. Aside from being religion procedure guideline, kitab kuning also functioned as universalreferences on responding every life challenge among pesantren people. This writing presents the results of research on the tradition of reading "kitab kuning" (yellow books) in Islamic boarding schools (Pondok Pesantren). The research employed a data collection method involving the reading and interpretation of various models of learning "kitab kuning" in pesantren, with a particular focus on observing Islamic Boarding School Baitussalam. The findings of this research indicate that the tradition of learning to read "kitab kuning" is still ongoing in Pondok Pesantren. The in-depth study and learning models of "kitab kuning" have become distinctive features in developing literacy and scholarly references in the world of pesantren. Classic texts, commonly known as "kitab kuning," play a crucial role in advancing the teachings of Islam. This underscores the importance of studying these yellow books. Islamic scholars have compiled these teachings into uniquely yellow-colored books, which are studied in Madrasahs and Pondok Pesantren. These books contain Islamic knowledge, particularly in the field of Islamic jurisprudence (Fikih), and are written or printed in Arabic script, using Arabic or Malay, Javanese, Sundanese, and other languages.

Abstract:
The text is an attempt to present what a postmodern picture book for children is. The main thesis indicates the tendency to break the traditional discourse, inscribed in children’s books. Ear-lier it was used mainly in parodies of this type of literature. Authors such as Edward Gorey, Ruth Krauss, and Maurice Sendak, may be considered precursors of post-modern picture books. Contem-porary artists using similar poetics are Raymond Briggs, Chris Van Allsburg, David Wiesner, and Jon Scieszka. Their characteristic features of narration are references to other works, the strategy of unmasking the fictionality of the message and the idea of revealing the materiality of the book. The issue of metafiction came to the fore in theoretical considerations about post-modern picture books from 2018. This kind of academic research can be considered as a manifestation of a broader tendency to constitute a new relationship between the recipient and the text of culture, excluding the naive reception of the reader.

Abstract:
It is often considered that reading a novel in the original is better than in translation; however, there are limiting factors regarding reading in a foreign language. Detecting cultural references and identifying their referents is problematic for readers whose proficiency in the second language is not near-native-like and who do not have a good knowledge of the culture(s) in question. This paper examines the translation into Finnish of cultural references in Terry Pratchett’s book Jingo. Pratchett’s books not only tell a story, they also illustrate a truth of some kind: they are satirical as well as amusing. Any loss of cultural references in translation may affect these purposes.I present the results of a questionnaire completed by Finnish university students divided into two groups, one reading the original source text and the other a translation. Categorisation of the cultural references is done according to a modified version of the systems used by Leppihalme (1997) and Ruokonen (2010). The results show that although the respondents better understood references in the original, they also misidentified some. The incidence of ‘culture bumps’ was, however, low in both texts, and the translations of the references were mostly felt to be coherent with their cotexts.

Abstract:
This study aims to analyze students' reading interest at the Singaperbangsa Karawang University Library using the K-Means algorithm. The K-Means method is used to group books based on borrowing patterns, so as to provide better insight into students' reading preferences and assist libraries in managing book collections. Book borrowing data was obtained from the university librarian database, while literature study was carried out by studying and looking for references in related journals and literature. After the data is clean and can be processed, the clustering process is carried out using the K-Means algorithm by determining the value of k. The clustering results are displayed in the form of a table showing the groups of books that are frequently borrowed, books with a moderate borrowing frequency, and books that are rarely borrowed by students. Cluster quality evaluation was carried out using the Davies Bouldin value. The findings of this study indicate that the K-Means algorithm is effective in classifying books based on borrowing patterns. With a better understanding of students' reading interest, libraries can optimize the placement of books, increase the availability of books of interest, and develop strategies to increase overall student reading interest. The results of this study make a significant contribution to the development of university libraries and provide useful guidelines for decision-making in library management.

Abstract:
Learning to write scientific articles necessitates the development of creative ideas and concepts in order to produce high-quality work that is also novel. However, learning to write scientific articles has become uninteresting among students due to a lack of interest in reading, ineffective use of digital literacy services to obtain references, and difficulties in creatively expressing ideas in scientific writing. The research goal is to create a learning model for writing scientific articles based on blended learning and creative problem solving. The Plomp model is used in the research method, which has three stages: preliminary, prototype, and assessment. The research yielded a trilogy of models: model books, lecturer books, and student books. The trilogy of models is designed based on the results of needs and context analysis, analysis of learning model characteristics to write scientific articles in universities, and prototypes by designing model books, lecturer books, student books, and assessments. The assessment results show that: (a) the model book is 89,44%, the lecturer's book is 94,44%, and the student book is 91,67% very valid. (b) A practicality test revealed that 85% of model books, 85,71% of lecturer books, and 87,27% of student books were very practical. (c) The practical 87,602% very effective. The characteristics of the blended learning integrated creative problem-solving learning model for writing scientific articles are very interesting and creative when combined with two lecture methods between online and offline (hybrid) using blended learning to improve students' creative thinking skills. The learning process incorporates technology and blended learning components to help students understand and gain new experiences in creative writing of scientific papers.

Abstract:
In Wordsmanship: a dictionary, common terms are headwords, and their rarefied synonyms are index entries; there is a complex network of cross-references among the headwords, but no references in the index. The compiler of the dictionary observes that use of the index will become unnecessary as the reader becomes familiar with the reference work. In the context of a serious analysis of the structure of this humorous book, general aspects of the design of a reference work in relation to its index are considered. It is concluded that indexers should be consulted at the design stage of reference books, as they may suggest reversal of the primary entries and the index entries, refine the cross-reference structure, revise locator notation, and select appropriate typography.
