The article aimed to research the accurate positioning when high resistance fault happened in cable fault. On the bases of Acoustic magnetic synchronous principle, the research benchmarked three orientation points as references and uses the differences between acoustic wave and magnetic wave to measure the distance between detection point and fault point. At last, used triangulation method to calculate the distance to the fault point based on the differences between acoustic signal and magnetic signal in order to locate the fault point.

Abstract:
Research has suggested that adding contextual information such as reference markers to data sonification can improve interaction with auditory graphs. This paper presents results of an experiment that contributes to quantifying and analysing the extent of such benefits for an integral part of interacting with graphed data: point estimation tasks. We examine three pitch-based sonification mappings; pitch-only, one-reference, and multiple-references that we designed to provide information about distance from an origin. We assess the effects of these sonifications on users’ performances when completing point estimation tasks in a between-subject experimental design against visual and speech control conditions. Results showed that the addition of reference tones increases users accuracy with a trade-off for task completion times, and that the multiple-references mapping is particularly effective when dealing with points that are positioned at the midrange of a given axis.

Abstract:
This paper presents an indoor positioning technique based on a multi-layer feed-forward (MLFF) artificial neural networks (ANN). Most of the indoor received signal strength (RSS)-based WLAN positioning systems use the fingerprinting technique that can be divided into two phases: the offline (calibration) phase and the online (estimation) phase. In this paper, RSSs were collected for all references points in four directions and two periods of time (Morning and Evening). Hence, RSS readings were sampled at a regular time interval and specific orientation at each reference point. The proposed ANN based model used Levenberg–Marquardt algorithm for learning and fitting the network to the training data. This RSS readings in all references points and the known position of these references points was prepared for training phase of the proposed MLFF neural network. Eventually, the average positioning error for this network using 30% check and validation data was computed approximately 2.20 meter.

This paper aims to provide information to the public regarding the meaning, use, purpose, limitations, and methods of calculating Break Even Point Analysis (BEP). Management needs information that can be used as a basis for planning company profits. By knowing the break-even point, management can determine the amount of production or sales that must be made, according to the profit target to be achieved). Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the data collection technique used is an online study, namely by taking references from the Internet. The type of data used is secondary data in the form of books related to the discussion, of course, books/materials on the internet. Data analysis used descriptive method, which was to describe the research results and then draw conclusions. Break Even Point (BEP) calculation can be done by equation method, contribution margin method, and graphical method. The three methods when used produce the same number. Break Even Point (BEP) analysis, in practice, besides containing benefits but also contains weaknesses.

Abstract:
‘WHO Standard Acupuncture Point Locations in the Western Pacific Region(WHO Standard) was released in 2008. Initially, there were 92/361 controversial acupuncture points (acupoints). Through seven informal consultations and four task force team meetings, 86 points were agreed upon among the 92 controversial acupoints, leaving 6 remaining controversial acupoints, demanding active research in the future. This will enhance the reproducibility and validity of acupuncture studies. It will also lead to a better understanding of acupuncture mechanisms in order to optimize its clinical efficacy for a range of diseases and syndromes. This book has two parts: General Guidelines for Acupuncture Point Locations and WHO Standard Acupuncture Point Locations. First of all, familiarity with the General Guidelines for Acupuncture Point Locations in this book can help the reader to understand and use the contents of this book in depth. I would like to thank all of the participating experts and scholars for this great work, who have overcome the limits of previous acupuncture references. I also appreciate the dedicated effort and harmonious leadership of Dr Choi Seung-hoon, former Regional Adviser in Traditional Medicine of Western Pacific Office, WHO.

Full text
Abstract:
A least-squares radial point interpolation collocation meshless method based on the discrete ordinates equation is developed for solving the radiative transfer in absorbing, emitting, and scattering media, in which compact support radial basis functions augmented with polynomial basis are employed to construct the trial functions. In addition to the collocation nodes, a number of auxiliary points are also adopted to form the total residuals of the problem. The least-squares technique is used to obtain the solution of the problem by minimizing the summation of residuals of all collocation and auxiliary points. Three typical examples of radiative transfer in semitransparent media are examined to verify this new solution method. The numerical results are compared with other benchmark approximate solutions in references. By comparison, the results show that the least-squares radial point interpolation collocation meshless method has good accuracy in solving radiative transfer problems within absorbing, emitting, and scattering media.

According to various sources (e.g. [1, p. 102]), the terminology of thepower of a pointwith respect to a circle is due to Steiner. His definition appears in most classical and contemporary geometry textbooks (to mention just a few references, see [2, 3, 4, 5]). The concept of the power of a point has been revisited not only in advanced Euclidean geometry, but also in computational geometry and other areas of mathematics. In the current literature there are two different definitions of the power of a point with respect to a circle, which we study in detail in section 2. In the first half of the twentieth century there have been published several attempts to generalise the concept of power of the point to real algebraic curves.

Abstract:
This article contributes to ongoing critical reflection on the place of Marcel Proust's writings in the œuvre of Roland Barthes, through a reading of Barthes's Journal de deuil. I explore the explicit references made to Proust as well as the more indirect or involuntary traces of À la recherche that surface in the notes that make up the Journal. These are read comparatively with references made to Proust, mourning, memory and writing that figure in Barthes's contemporary works, notably the lecture ‘“Longtemps, je me suis couché de bonne heure”’, Fragments d'un discours amoureux and La Chambre claire. I argue that Proust's place in the Journal de deuil, Barthes's most intimate of texts, is almost inevitable since, by Barthes's own avowal, Proust's writings were – like Barthes's mother up until that point – a constant in his life, a point of departure and return.

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE: To describe the usefulness of some of the most common tertiary references that healthcare professionals employ to answer requests about herbal and dietary supplements. METHODS: All requests for information on herbal and dietary supplements received by the drug information service between April and September 2000 were evaluated. Each question was independently reviewed by 4 clinicians using a 4-point scale; 14 references were searched for appropriate answers. The percent of responses for each of the possible scores for each reference overall and by category of question was reported to determine the most helpful references for answering the broadest range of questions. RESULTS: Fifty questions regarding herbal and dietary supplements were analyzed. The electronic databases (Natural Medicine Comprehensive Database, Micromedex) and the Internet site (The Natural Pharmacist) were determined to be overall the most helpful references for providing information on herbal and dietary supplements. The Natural Therapeutics Pocket Guide was the most helpful book reference. CONCLUSIONS: These results will facilitate the retrieval of useful information on herbal and dietary supplements and enable healthcare professionals to determine appropriate allocation of resources as they build a drug information library for handling requests about these products.

AbstractEstimates suggest that about 16% of bird species hybridize in the wild. This number is based on two main sources: the Handbook of Avian Hybrids of the World by Eugene McCarthy and the online Serge Dumont Bird Hybrids Database. Although both sources provide supporting references for the documented hybrids, the reliability of these references has not been systematically assessed. In this paper, I introduce a scoring scheme based on three criteria that are weighted based on their reliability, namely field observations or photographs (1 point), morphological analyses (2 points), and genetic analyses (3 points). The final tally of these three criteria (ranging from 0 to 6 points) will indicate the level of confidence for a particular hybrid. I test this scoring scheme on the Neotropical bird family Tinamidae (tinamous), in which several putative hybrids have been reported. My analysis revealed one well-documented case (Crypturellus boucardi × C. cinnamomeus) and three doubtful records that require further investigation. These findings highlight the need for thoroughly scrutinizing the sources supporting avian hybrids. The scoring system clearly illustrates its usefulness and can be easily applied to other taxonomic groups to increase the reliability of documenting interspecific hybrids.

Abstract:
Most parameter-based online signature verification methods achieve correspondence between the points of two signatures by minimizing the accumulation of their local feature distances. The matching based on minimizing the local feature distances alone is not adequate since the point contains not only local features but the distribution of the remaining points relative to it. One useful way to get correspondences between points on two shapes and measure the similarity of the two shapes is to use the shape context, since this descriptor can be used to describe the distributive relationship between a reference point and the remaining points on a shape. In this paper, we introduce a shape context descriptor for describing an online signature point which contains both 2D spatial information and a time stamp. A common algorithm, dynamic time warp (DTW), is used for the elastic matching between two signatures. When combining shape contexts and local features, we achieve better results than when using only the local features. We evaluate the proposed method on a signature database from the First International Signature Verification Competition (SVC2004). Experimental results demonstrate that the shape context is a good feature and has available complementarity for describing the signature point. The best result by combining the shape contexts and the local features yields an Equal Error Rate (EER) of 6.77% for five references.

This paper makes a historical overview about how mathematics textbooks influenced geometry’s teaching in Brazil. Initially the study shows the relevance textbooks have as historical reference for a school discipline. Next, it describes how textbooks tend to transmit the same content in each historical period, a phenomenon Chervel called vulgata. From that point a timeline is created, since the first Brazilian mathematics textbook in 1744 until 2010, to understand how those volumes influenced geometry teaching. Four volumes, ranging from 1925 to 2010, are then analyzed. The focal point of this analysis is how triangles similarity is taught in each one of them. The paper also describes how government policies affected textbooks and school life in general since the beginning of mathematics teaching in Brazil.

Abstract:
Abstract This paper focuses on the sociocultural and historical context in which the Egyptian poet Muḥammad Ḥāfiẓ Ibrāhīm (c. 1872–1932) represented contemporary constitutional movements in the Muslim world, with special emphasis on developments in the Ottoman Empire and in late nineteenth- to early twentieth-century Egypt – back then, at least nominally, still a part of it – and extending to Iran’s Constitutional Revolution. References in Ḥāfiẓ Ibrāhīm’s poetry to constitutionalism in Japan will also be discussed in order to point out that the poet, while closely following constitutional movements in the Ottoman Empire and in Iran, in fact viewed constitutionalism as an historical process transcending geographical and cultural boundaries. Therefore, we shall also try to identify the general idea of history underlying Ḥāfiẓ Ibrāhīm’s portrayal of constitutionalism. Comparative references to constitutional poetry in Iran of that time are intended to point out the supra-regional dimension both of constitutionalism itself and of poetical modes of imagining it. Likewise, this approach is designed to make the point that constitutional poetry in the Muslim world at that time was more than just poetic commentary on constitutional movements; it was itself part of them.

We introduce a general iterative algorithm for finding a common element of the common fixed-point set of an infinite family ofλi-strict pseudocontractions and the solution set of a general system of variational inclusions for two inverse strongly accretive operators in aq-uniformly smooth Banach space. Then, we prove a strong convergence theorem for the iterative sequence generated by the proposed iterative algorithm under very mild conditions. The methods in the paper are novel and different from those in the early and recent literature. Our results can be viewed as the improvement, supplementation, development, and extension of the corresponding results in some references to a great extent.

Abstract:
Piston is one of important parts of engine. It is meaningful to modify piston machining. The motion characteristics of shaped-piston cylindrical surface and profile were analyzed. A fitting transition curve method for the piston skirt cylindrical profile was proposed, which could satisfy requirements of smooth and non-impact, especially at the starting point and the ending point. And the machining profile data were generated by interpolating in Matlab. This result provides references for the piston design.

The Letters to the Seven Churches (Rev 2–3) have been the subject of extensive study by modern scholars, partly because of the feeling that they may provide a convenient point of entry and even a key to the understanding of some of the complexities and mysteries of the Book of Revelation as a whole. There is a broad consensus today that the letters were not written separately, sent to each church and later collected (the older view championed by Spitta), but were published as a block along with the rest of the book. Each church would thus receive not only the letter addressed to it, but also the letters addressed to the other six churches.

Abstract:
Abstract This cross-cultural study examines the differences in communicative styles between English and German email responses to customer complaints by analysing their discourse structure (through a rhetorical move analysis) and the frequency of first-person references (I and we and their different forms). The framework is given by House (House, Juliane. 2006. Communicative styles in English and German. European Journal of English Studies 10(3). 249–267.), who suggests that English speakers tend to use a more interpersonal (i.e., people-oriented) communicative style, while German speakers show a preference for a transactional (i.e., content-oriented) style. In addition, first-person references within the genre of email responses to complaints are associated with either the customer service agent’s personal or corporate identity. The data consist of 150 English and 84 German authentic emails. The results of the move analysis reveal that the discourse structure of both data sets is mainly similar, but the few differences point into the direction of support for House’s framework, in particular the dimension on addressee- or content-orientation. Although agents generally use more we than I-references in both data sets, thus exhibiting mainly a corporate identity, they tend to use the opposite in some moves (e.g., Apology), which points to pronominal shifting across move level, as suggested in previous research (Zhang, Yi & Camilla Vásquez. 2014. Hotels’ responses to online reviews: Managing consumer dissatisfaction. Discourse, Context and Media 6. 54–64.). Overall, the German agents use more we-references compared to their British colleagues. Finally, agents use pronominal shifting within move level to distance themselves from the company.

Abstract:
This article investigates the correctable technologies for musical drafts available to composers during the central and later Middle Ages (twelfth-fifteenth centuries). The starting point is a unique passage from the autobiography of Renier, abbot of St Laurence of Liège (c. 1110/20-90), which clearly describes someone sight-reading a new work from the text and musical notation entered on wax tablets (an edition and translation of the passage are provided). Additional musical references to wax tablets are discussed, as are references to other correctable technologies (text supports and appropriate styli) potentially available to composers, such as varieties of sleeked pasteboard, slate tablets, lead used directly on paper or parchment, liquid correcting fluid or powder or paste, and composition in the mind. Descriptions from the contemporary technical literature, archaeological and iconographical evidence are briefly presented. An estimate of the relative prevalence of these techniques is ventured with references to aspects of the technologies and their musical application which require further investigation.

Abstract:
Although the English gender system is a semantic system largely based on sex, it is well known that in references to animals there is widespread discrepancy between pronominal gender and sex, and that gender selection is dependent on speaker's point of view (degree of interest in the animal, projection of personality and so on). What is yet to be established, however, is whether point of view still prevails in references to animals when the antecedent noun specifies the sex of the referent (e.g. stallion, ewe). In that case the neuter is known to occur but there is no quantitative assessment of the phenomenon, although it is crucial to understanding the influence of sex on gender selection. This article therefore proposes a statistical analysis of gender use in personal pronouns focusing exclusively on cases in which the antecedent noun specifies the sex of the animal. The analysis is carried out at the scale of the multi-million-word Corpus of Contemporary American English (COCA), using Pearson's chi-square test complemented by the odds ratio estimate. Three questions are considered: how common is the neuter? Is its relative frequency the same with female animals as with males? Finally, do the proportions vary according to the position of the anaphor relative to its antecedent?

Abstract:
Purpose This paper aims to explore how professional competences are defined and assessed by clients of professional service firms (PSFs). Extant research has studied the knowledge base of professionals, but limited research has been conducted to develop an understanding of how clients value this knowledge. Design/methodology/approach The study is based on in-depth qualitative research design, which is suitable for inductive theory building. The collected data consist of interviews with 80 clients and sellers of professional services. Findings The authors offer a framework detailing the interrelationships between knowledge, experience and references as assessed by clients. In particular, references are used to evaluate experience, which in turn function as a proxy for how clients assess knowledge. Also, the study shows how the clients’ assessment of professional knowledge assets involves multiple levels and factors. Research limitations/implications Limited research has been conducted to understand client preferences and PSF competitive advantage from a client perspective. This paper contributes to extant literature on knowledge management by integrating it with insights from recent developments within service marketing focusing on client centricity and the role of clients in value creation. This perspective complements and extends what is already known about knowledge management. Practical implications The paper suggests that while it is essential to manage knowledge as such, references and experience has a very central role in selling and commercializing knowledge-intensive services. Thus, to the degree that clients buy knowledge, sellers should think carefully about how experience and references are developed, captured and conveyed to clients. From a client point, the identified framework has value in offering a client-centric conceptualization of knowledge that can be used as a starting point in defining their knowledge needs and in structuring and professionalizing their purchasing efforts related to professional services. Originality/value Knowledge-intensive service organizations sell their knowledge and resources to clients directly as experts and indirectly through their services. It is therefore imperative for these organizations to understand how their knowledge is evaluated by buyers. The paper takes a unique client-centric perspective in understanding knowledge from a buyer’s point of view and as perceived by the buyer, which largely has been lacking in existing knowledge management research.

Abstract:
This review deals with the chapter about modern Russian Studies in Germany in the collective monograph “Izuchenie Rossii sovremennymi istorikami Zapada i Vostoka”, recently published under the editorship of N. V. Trubnikova. Its authors, the Tomsk historians V. V. Ageeva and M. A. Shtanko, have set a promising goal for their research: to approach the German rossievedenie in their overview covering the period from 1975 until 2014 with theoretical-methodological criteria instead of the more common in such cases political ones. In order to realize this project, they proposed to divide modern German historiography into three periods, with the latter one which covers the years 2005–2014 being a no less important innovation. However, it fell short of the reader’s expectations. Unfortunately, the chapter “Sovremennoe nemetskoe rossievedenie: spetsifika diskursa, tematicheskie polia i protsess institucionalizacii” is a mere compilation of superficially adapted facts, conclusions and ideas mostly taken from other works. V. V. Ageeva and M. A. Shtanko do not seem to have paid attention to the fact that some of the data they draw on have already lost its actuality. Statistical material serves largely to confirm their own postulates, and most references to German historians and their studies are inaccurate and misspelled, which does not enhance comprehension. Overall, the reader gets the impression that the authors were due to finish their work under some time pressure. This probably would explain why they chose “to take the easy way out” — in the end, the welcoming innovative theses expressed at the beginning of the chapter are abandoned, whereas outdated clichés — confirmed.

Abstract:
Background Depression is a prevalent and problematic mental disorder that often has an onset in adolescence. Previous studies have illustrated that depression disclosures on social media are common and may be linked to an individual’s experiences of depression. However, most studies have examined depression displays on social media at a single time point. Objective This study aims to investigate displayed depression symptoms on Facebook at 2 developmental time points based on symptom type and gender. Methods Participants were recruited from an ongoing longitudinal cohort study. The content analysis of text-based Facebook data over 1 year was conducted at 2 time points: time 1 (adolescence; age 17-18 years) and time 2 (young adulthood; ages 20-22 years). Diagnostic criteria for depression were applied to each post to identify the displayed depression symptoms. Data were extracted verbatim. The analysis included nonparametric tests for comparisons. Results A total of 78 participants’ Facebook profiles were examined, of which 40 (51%) were male. At time 1, 62% (48/78) of the adolescents had a Facebook profile, and 54% (26/78) displayed depression symptom references with an average of 9.4 (SD 3.1) references and 3.3 (SD 2.3) symptom types. Of the 78 participants, 15 (19%) females and 12 (15%) males displayed depression symptom references; these prevalence estimates were not significantly different by gender (P=.59). At time 2, 35 young adults displayed symptoms of depression with an average of 4.6 (SD 2.3) references and 2.4 (SD 1.3) symptom types. There were no differences in the prevalence of symptoms of depression displayed between males (n=19) and females (n=16; P=.63). Conclusions This content analysis study within an ongoing cohort study illustrates the differences in depression displays on Facebook by developmental stage and symptom. This study contributes to a growing body of literature by showing that using social media to observe and understand depression during the emerging adult developmental period may be a valuable approach.

Abstract:
Purpose/Thesis: The paper aims to describe the types and structure of references to different sources as cited by the selected Polish Wikipedia articles from the category of people related to the Austrian Partition and all the categories below. Approach/Methods: The research data consisted of references from 50 randomly selected articles from Polish Wikipedia, including 1007 citations and 758 references. The references have been gathered, processed, and analyzed mainly employing R language. They have been categorized, and then the descriptive statistics for the chosen elements have been provided and analyzed. Results and conclusions: The study shows that the majority of sources used in the research sample were of primary nature. Consequently, it demonstrates that the analyzed articles about historical persons can be regarded more as a product of research than simple imitative work to a certain extent. Polish Wikipedians mainly utilized government directories and newspaper or magazine articles, often from digital libraries. Secondary sources, on the other hand, chiefly consisted of books, webpages, and book sections. The structure of references was diverse, and bibliographic descriptions sometimes lacked important elements. The findings confirm difficulties in analyzing sources in Wikipedia. Moreover, they support the need for researching different editions and subject areas of the largest online encyclopedia. Research limitations: Due to the exploratory character of research, which focuses on references from selected articles about historical persons from Poland, one should not readily extrapolate its results to other parts of Polish Wikipedia. The research sample only comprised citations and references, which were collected at one specific point of time. Additionally, the categorization of references has been done by a single researcher, and intercoder reliability has not been checked. Originality/Value: Most of the studies into sources used in Wikipedia articles have been limited to its English edition so far. Moreover, articles about historical persons in this encyclopedia have not been analyzed from the perspective of utilized sources, their types, and reference patterns. The paper broadens the understanding of sources usage in Wikipedia by focusing on the Polish edition of the encyclopedia.

AbstractIs the position of a moving target “predicted”? I argue that we should regard moving targets as the natural (veridical) position references. Motion is probably perceptually absolute, whereas position and time are relative quantities, as in physics. According to this view, processing delays are incorporated in the abstract local signs of motion signals. The flash-lag effect is one case in point.

AbstractObjectiveThe aim of the present study was to describe the nature and extent of food marketing on popular children’s websites and food product websites in Australia.MethodsFood product websites (n119) and popular children’s websites (n196) were selected based on website traffic data and previous research on frequently marketed food brands. Coding instruments were developed to capture food marketing techniques. All references to food on popular children’s websites were also classified as either branded or non-branded and according to food categories.ResultsWebsites contained a range of marketing features. On food product websites these marketing features included branded education (79·0 % of websites), competitions (33·6 %), promotional characters (35·3 %), downloadable items (35·3 %), branded games (28·6 %) and designated children’s sections (21·8 %). Food references on popular children’s websites were strongly skewed towards unhealthy foods (60·8 %v. 39·2 % healthy food references;P< 0·001), with three times more branded food references for unhealthy foods. Branded food references displayed similar marketing features to those identified on food product websites.ConclusionsInternet food marketing uses a range of techniques to ensure that children are immersed in brand-related information and activities for extended periods, thereby increasing brand familiarity and exposure. The relatively unregulated marketing environment and increasing use of the Internet by children point to the potential increase in food marketing via this medium. Further research is required to investigate the impact of Internet food marketing on children’s food preferences and consumption, and regulatory options to protect children.

This study uses the two largest available American English language corpora, Google Books and the Corpus of Historical American English (coha), to investigate relations between ecology and language. The paper introduces ecolinguistics as a promising theme for corpus research. While some previous ecolinguistic research has used corpus approaches, there is a case to be made for quantitative methods that draw on larger datasets. Building on other corpus studies that have made connections between language use and environmental change, this paper investigates whether linguistic references to other species have changed in the past two centuries and, if so, how. The methodology consists of two main parts: an examination of the frequency of common names of species followed by aspect-level sentiment analysis of concordance lines. Results point to both opportunities and challenges associated with applying corpus methods to ecolinguistc research.

Abstract:
Pierre Falcon is the earliest known Metis composer. Born in 1793 in Fort La Coude (Elbow Fort) in what is now west-central Manitoba, his adult life spanned the “Golden Years” (Shore 2001) of the western Metis nation. Known as the Bard of the Prairies, Falcon’s songs drew on events of local importance during this period, providing a means to remember and share Metis history, and to solidify a sense of Metis nationalism. Beginning in the late-1800s historians, novelists, folklorists, journalists, and musicians began turning their attention to Falcon, resulting in a strikingly large number of popular and academic references to his life and songs. While these references are varied, together they tell a story about the relationship between Canada and the Metis Nation. On the one hand, references to Falcon often draw from, and in fact help create, images of the Imaginary Indian (Francis 1992). Yet on the other hand, many references to Falcon erase his Indigeneity, or blend his Metis identity seamlessly into a Franco-Manitoban, or western Canadian identity. These seemingly contradictory representations, as I will argue in this paper, ultimately point to the ambiguous positioning of Metis people as Indigenous peoples, and speak to an obsession with mixed-ness that denies the Metis their full and authentic Indigeneity.

After the calculation, we can find that under effects of the same tension control stress and the external loads, mechanical effects of the continuous box girder bridges with CFRP bars can be equal to or better than performances of continuous box girder bridges with steel strands. They can provide references to applications of CFRP bar.

Abstract:
The question of which cut-off point would be more appropriate in the selection of sub-clinical obsessive-compulsive (OC) samples is an important methodological issue that has not been formally addressed, hence prompting the current study. Three groups of sub-clinical OC subjects, scoring 1, 1.5, and 2 standard deviations (SD) above the mean on the Padua Inventory, and a matched non-OC control group, were compared on various clinical and personality measures. As expected, the three sub-clinical groups had higher scores than the non-OC group on measures of OC symptoms (including obsessional slowness), depression, anxiety, and on personality measures of neuroticism, psychoticism, and obsessional traits. However, no significant differences were observed between the three sub-clinical groups on most measures, although the 2 SD group had higher scores on neuroticism and obsessional personality traits. It is concluded that a wide range of selection criteria can yield similar results that are interpretable within the current theoretical models of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). It is suggested that subjects with a diagnosis of OCD should be carefully excluded from sub-clinical studies. [A Spanish abstract follows the references.]
