Elevers Internetanvändning i skolan och hemmen har ökat drastiskt under det senaste decenniet. Samhällets enorma efterfrågan och påtryckning om ny teknik gör det möjligt för dagens stora IT marknad att fortsätta att utvidgas. När teknik och Internet expanderas så påverkas även skolan och dess hantering av vad som kan kännas som ett ständigt föränderligt forum av information. I detta arbete har vi gjort en kvantitativ undersökning på två skolor där vi har velat ta reda på hur våra hundra respondenter upplever och brukar referenshantering i skolan. I vår studie framkom det att internet nyttjades lika mycket oavsett våra respondenters kön. Detta resultat kan kopplas samman med rapporten Unga svenskar och Internet 2009 utav Olle Findahl, forskningsledare på World Internet Institut. Findahl visar i hans rapport att flickorna har fått en mer jämlik roll i den annars mansdominerade IT- världen. De tidigare utformade spelen som skulle locka merparten pojkar till att handla deras produkter har nu börjat att suddats ut och flickornas intresse har synliggjorts. Vår undersökning visade även att skolornas information i årskurs åtta kring källkritik var vag och nästintill icke existerande. Detta resultat fick oss att dra slutsatsen att skolan har en bra bit kvar innan den uppfyller läroplanen Lgr 11 riktlinjer kring kritiskt tänkande och referenshantering.

<p>Studien syftar till att undersöka hur elever hanterar kriteriet om vetenskapligt arbetssätt i projektarbeten av teoretisk karaktär. Detta ger en fingervisning av på vilka aspekter av vetenskaplighet som gymnasieelevers arbetssätt uppvisar styrkor respektive svagheter. Projektredovisningarna utgörs av texter på mellan 15 och 25 sidor som är skrivna av gymnasieelever som läser det tredje och sista året i svensk gymnasieskola. I undersökningen har analyser gjorts av fyra elevtexter enligt en egenkomponerad analysmodell genom vilken tre aspekter av elevernas texter fokuseras. Aspekterna är <em>kritiskt tänkande</em>, <em>slutledningsförmåga</em> och <em>referenshantering</em>. Resultatet visar över lag att eleverna har god slutledningsförmåga, men att deras kritiska tänkande och deras sätt att hantera referenser är bristande.</p>

This is an empirical study mapping out different citation practices to games in the fieldof game studies. From an analysis of 7 journals, 3 conferences and 22 canonical bookswithin game studies, 5 different strategies for game referencing have been identified.Games scholars can either totally refrain from referring to the games they discuss, onlyreference some specific games, cite them as something special and deviant from othersources, refer to them in accordance with other sources or refer to games with regard totheir unique properties as a reference. For the reference librarian working with issuesrelating to game studies the diverse reference practices among game scholars pose aspecific challenge. A challenge that partly can be overcome by knowing how gamescholars frame games and how these frameworks are in conflict with the ways librariansframe and classify sources due their physical properties.<br>Program: Bibliotekarie

The last few years have been characterised by increasing online communication and the emergence of social media, made possible by Web 2.0. In society as well as in research, social media is used for knowledge produc- tion and networking. One example of this is Mendeley, a social reference management tool. With answers from users all over the world, this study investigates the use of Mendeley, if the respondents use other social media and if all of this affects scientific communication. The aim is also to study what the respondents think about the future of scientific communication and if this can be related to current tendencies. The theoretic framework for this study is based on Leah Lievrouws research on the Cycle of Scientific Communication and the relationship between the ”Little Science 2.0”-scenario and the ”Big Science Retrench- ment”-scenario. A qualitative web based survey was conducted (41 answers) and complemented with an interview with a professor in environmental sciences. The main purpose with the interview was to study how Mendeley can be used in collaborations. The results show that Mendeley is used by researchers to store and organize references, read and annotate pdf:s, cite, share articles in groups, search for new references and to present their research and make new ac- quaintances. The answers show that one effect that Mendeley and other social media has on scientific communi- cation is facilitating cooperation across traditional divides. At the same time, some respondents have not seen an effect on their scientific communication yet. Methods to measure impact in social media are requested, which would complement standard citation analysis. Mendeley’s related research function is found valuable in theory, but is in need of significant improvements. The respondents think that the future will be characterized by an increase in openness and sharing, but a tendency to keep scientific results copyrighted and locked behind pay- walls is also present.
