Fast medicine dispensing system (FMDS) as a kind of medical logistic robot can dispense many drugs for one prescription at the same time. To guarantee the sustainability of drug dispensation, it is required that FMDS replenish drugs rapidly. The traditional order picking model (OPM) is difficult to meet the demand of prompt replenishment. To solve the problems of prolonged refilling route and inefficiency of drugs replenishment, a mixed refilling model based on multiple steps traveling salesman problem model (MTSPM) and vehicle routing problem model (VRPM) is proposed, and it is deployed in tw

The path planning problem of logistics robots is mainly subjected to the time cost of the operation of the mathematical model. To save the time of refilling process in the fast medicine dispensing system (FMDS), the optimization procedure is divided into two steps in this study. First, a new mathematical model called the multiple steps traveling salesman problem model (MTSPM) is proposed to optimize the replenishment quantity of each picking and establish picking sets. The dynamical origin for this phenomenon is attributed to mean-motion resonances (4:1 and 3:1) with a Jovian-like planet. Numerical simulations of this phenomenon are able to correctly reproduce the dynamical characteristics of the star-grazers observed. Abstract Nordic walking and water aerobics are very popular forms of physical activity in the elderly population. The aim of the study was to evaluate the influence of regular health training on the venous blood flow in lower extremities and body composition in women over 50 years old. Twenty-four women of mean age 57.9 (± 3.43) years, randomly divided into three groups (Nordic walking, water aerobics, and non-training), participated in the study. The training lasted 8 weeks, with one-hour sessions twice a week. Dietary habits were not changed. Before and after training vein refilling time and

The progress of technology on energy and IoT fields has led to an increasingly complicated electric environment in low-voltage local microgrid, along with the extensions of electric vehicle, micro-generation, and local storage. It is required to establish a home energy management system (HEMS) to efficiently integrate and manage household energy micro-generation, consumption and storage, in order to realize decentralized local energy systems at the community level. Current models for the agonist-induced activation of Ca2+ entry from the extracellular medium in non-excitable cells generally emphasize a capacitative mechanism whereby Ca2+ entry is activated simply as a result of the emptying of intracellular Ca2+ stores, without any direct involvement of inositol phosphates. To date, the activation and control of Ca2+ entry have generally been studied under conditions where the agonist-sensitive stores undergo a profound and sustained depletion. However, responses under more normal physiological conditions typically involve the cyclical release and refilli

This paper studies two one-dimensional models to estimate the pressure drop in the normal human biliary system for Reynolds number up to 20. Excessive pressure drop during bile emptying and refilling may result in incomplete bile emptying, leading to stasis and subsequent formation of gallbladder stones. The models were developed following the group’s previous work on the cystic duct using numerical simulations. Using these models, the effects of the biliary system geometry, elastic property of the cystic duct, and bile viscosity on the pressure drop can be studied more efficiently than with f

Segmented slug flow systems in capillaries have already shown good potential for process intensification, due to their symmetry in the characteristic flow pattern. However, several challenges remain in this technology. For instance, in gas-consuming reactions, like Aliq + Bgas→Cliq, the gas droplets shrink and may even disappear, limiting the conversions and throughputs of capillary reactor systems. To overcome such shortcomings, an intermediate gas feed was developed. In order to maintain the well-defined slug flow characteristics, it is necessary to introduce the gas rapidly and precisely, i

Scallops swim by rythmic opening and closing of the valves. Water ejected from the mantle cavity during closing of the valves generates thrust that propels the animal. The closing phase is powered by contraction of adduction muscles, whereas refilling is powered by energy stored in elastic material (abductin) compressed during the closing phase. This paper examines the physics of these oscillations. A model is developed to represent the oscillations with a second-order linear differential equation with constant coefficients.
