Full textThe aim of this scientific essay is to explore specific knowledge and experiences within anartistic practice. The starting point of the essay is in the stories of and around making anddoing as a theoretical perspective is introduced to the processes of knowledge production. Theessay wants to examine the artistic practice as a form of practical knowledge and reflect uponhow this form of knowledge can be delineated. The text especially tries to capture whatconceivably is the most difficult aspect to describe of an artistic process. This would not bethe technical craft skill, not the ambient theoretical discourse but rather the nonlinear processof transforming ideas into an artistic form. The essay also emphasizes the issues surroundingthe concepts of reflection, discussing where, when and how an artist reflects within her ownmaking. References from e.g. Donald Schön, Gilbert Ryle and Arto Haapala are included. How the artistic practice is related to science, text and theory is also discussed. The essaywants to accentuate the importance of observing those processes of knowledge productionwhich not easily can be placed within formalized forms of knowledge.

Full textThe purpose of this essay is to investigate the actions of facilitators when a shift in a group takes place. Shift refers to a new understanding of a content being processed. Facilitator is the one who facilitates a group's process of working with any type of material or issue. The essays question is which aspects of practical knowledge the facilitator exercises when she experiences that a group is shifting its understanding. The study is phenomenological and ethnographic as the facilitators' own experiences are in focus. In the essay the own experience, interviews and conversations with five facilitators are put in dialogue with improvisation theatre and philosophers who have written about practical knowledge. From these conversations, a number of aspects of practical knowledge appear. One aspect is intuition formed in relational, bodily and recognition meetings with others. When the thought is not able to guide, intuition can emerge based on the feeling that comes from intention and previous experience. Experiences are an aspect of practical knowledge and form patterns with other experiences. Intuition is based on the pattern formation of these experiences and guides further action. Another aspect is the interaction between feeling, emotion, thought and action, both as a chronological and overlapping course of events. Further aspect is knowledge-in-action as well as reflection-in-action as the act of artistry and craftsmanship, which further leads to the importance of being able to improvise. A facilitator has to be in the course of events that goes on without taking over the event. It is in unique course of events that aspects of practical knowledge manifest themselves as a whole consisting of several interacting aspects. It is about an approach to be as a facilitator.

Full textDeepened reflection in peer conversations for professional learning? Based on chemistry teachers' peer conversations at an upper secondary school, and reflection within these conversations, the purpose of the present study was to strengthen the teachers' professional learning. The research question is: Which types of reflections are present in the chemistry teachers' peer conversations for learning? The study is based on theories about communities of praxis and reflection. The actions consisted of peer observations and peer conversations based on these observations. A qualitative content analysis indicates the following types of reflection: Small talk, Chemistry facts, Reflections on actions and Values. The depth of reflection differed between the forms (Handal & Lauvås, 2000; Schön, 1984) and within the conversations. Small talk, representinga superficial level of reflection, were represented in all talks, and values representing a deeperlevel, were in minority. However, in depth reflections increased over time. The results confirm previous research pointing out challenges in professional learning communities. Despite the challenges, the peer conversations resulted in improved teaching. The conclusion is that the professional learning was strengthened, but still needs to be developed further. As a teacher leader, I need to consider how I can continue to challenge our conversations for reaching deeper in our reflections.

Andersson, Emmy. "Demokrati i förskolan - en cirkulär rörelse : En kvalitativ studie om barnkonventionens artikel 12 i förskolan." Thesis, 2021. http://urn.kb.se/resolve?urn=urn:nbn:se:kau:diva-83212.
