Abstract:
Industrial fresh fluorgypsum was found to be an efficient solid acid catalyst (10 % gmmol-1loading) for Beckmann rearrangement, which promoted conversion of various ketoximes to the corresponding amides or lactams in toluene at reflux temperature. This is the first example of the application of the fluorgypsum as catalyst in organic synthesis, which opens up a new aspect for the utility of the solid waste fluorgypsum.

Abstract:
El objetivo fue interpretar el significado de la práctica pedagógica que los docentes realizan para llevar a cabo una educación técnica industrial orientada hacia la innovación, en el contexto de la Escuela Técnica Industrial “La Carucieña” en la ciudad de Barquisimeto, Venezuela. Se empleó el método etnográfico interpretativo, en la perspectiva metodológica cualitativa; se utilizó la observación participante en las aulas y talleres, y la entrevista en profundidad a cinco docentes. El procedimiento de codificación y categorización generó como resultado dos categorías orientadoras: (a) La innovación en el acto pedagógico de las Escuelas Técnicas Industriales, y (b) Pedagogía del aprendizaje para la innovación, a las cuales se realizó el proceso hermenéutico. Como reflexión final se tiene que la esencia del Ser innovador en el acto pedagógico es el docente, pues sus estudiantes serán el reflejo de la actitud hacia la necesidad de mejorar, de incorporar cambios y de la dedicación a sobrepasar la educación de la rutina y la inercia.

Abstract:
The experiments for treating the pesticide wastewater, which had been produced by Shandong pesticide factory when it produced the Nicosulfuron, were carried out. Through the small test, treatment of pesticide wastewater by batch distillation was studied. The results showed that the top temperature of the recovery samples were about from 98.5°C to 100.2°C,the COD of the recovery samples were about from 10000mg/L to 200 mg/L.With the increasing of the reflux ratio, the average of the COD of these samples and the recoveries reduced gradually, and the removal rate of COD increased gradually, which is above 92% when R≥4.

Abstract:
The research of dimethylbenzene and butylacetate from industrial spent solvent oil by batch distillation was studied, and the batch distillation experiment was by pretreated material. The effects of separation temperature and reflux ratio on separation efficiency were investigated,and compared the new tower with the old one. The experimental results showed that: when the reflux ratio R was 3, Butyl acetate and Xylene product purity were low, the R ≥ 4, the purity of the product of Xylene and Butyl acetate were significantly increased; both yield were lower with the increase of reflux ratio. When R was 4, the top temperature of the distillation column was between 109 and 111.4 °C, before and after device upgrading, Butyl acetate product purity were 90.03% and 72.88% respectively.When the top temperature was above 120 °C, the device after upgrading Xylene product purity was 98% and 94.42% before the upgrading. Both of the purity and the yield improved after device upgrading.

Purpose The aim of this paper is to evaluate using statistical methods how two soldering techniques – the convection reflow and vapour phase reflow with vacuum – influence reduction of voids in lead-free solder joints under Light Emitted Diodes (LEDs) and Ball Grid Arrays (BGAs). Design/methodology/approach Distribution of voids in solder joints under thermal and electrical pads of LEDs and in solder balls of BGAs assembled with convection reflow and vapour phase reflow with vacuum has been investigated in terms of coverage or void contents, void diameters and number of voids. For each soldering technology, 80 LEDs and 32 solder balls in BGAs were examined. Soldering processes were carried out in the industrial or semi-industrial environment. The OM340 solder paste of Innolot type was used for LED soldering. Voidings in solder joints were inspected with a 2D X-ray transmission system. OriginLab was used for statistical analysis. Findings Investigations supported by statistical analysis showed that the vapour phase reflow with vacuum decreases significantly void contents and number and diameters of voids in solder joints under LED and BGA packages when compared to convection reflow. Originality/value Voiding distribution data were collected on the basis of 2D X-ray images for test samples manufactured during the mass production processes. Statistical analysis enabled to appraise soldering technologies used in these processes in respect of void formation.

Abstract:
Acid regurgitation is a common symptom in digestive system diseases which is mainly caused by emotions, diet, and other factors. It is related to gastroesophageal reflux disease, chronic gastritis, and other diseases in Western medicine. According to modern medical research, acid reflux is related to Helicobacter pylori (HP) infection, weak effect of anti-reflux barrier, decreased clearance of esophageal acid, dysfunction of esophageal mucosal barrier, strong stimulation of reflux on esophageal mucosal wall, and other factors [1]. It can be divided into four types which are heat, cold, food stagnation, and yin deficiency. It is often accompanied by vomiting, heartburn, stomachache, and other symptoms. Clinically, it is a mixture of cold and heat, as well as excess and deficiency. Professor Du’s self-made method of “first soothing, second reducing, and third harmonizing” (soothing liver and stomach, relieving stomach qi, and neutralizing stomach acid) is used to treat both, symptoms and the root causes. The commonly used prescriptions are left-running metal pill, cuttlefish bone and fritillaria powder, calcined ark shell, oyster shell, etc.

Nos dias atuais a conscientização sobre a preservação ambiental tem destaque no setor industrial. A indústria cerâmica busca como alternativa de preservação e economia a agregação de diversos resíduos industriais. No entanto, há a preocupação com a emissão de gases poluentes na queima desses novos materiais. Este trabalho teve o objetivo de analisar as emissões gasosas liberadas durante a queima da mistura da argila do município de Campos dos Goytacazes, RJ, com diferentes concentrações de resíduo de escória de aciaria do processo LD (Linz Donawitz) de refino do aço. Os corpos-de-prova continham concentrações de escória com 0, 5 e 10%. Durante a queima foram detectados com destaque os gases CO2 e CO via técnica fototérmica. Com 10% de escória de aciaria houve um pico pronunciado de CO2 a 800 ºC, cujo perfil não apresenta na argila pura. Tal comportamento é possivelmente devido à desidroxilação da calcita.

Abstract:
The development of mathematics model especially non-square open-loop dynamic model has grown rapidly since four decades. Because of the need of simplicity and accuracy, industrial world is demanding a dynamic mathematical model as simple as possible but it still can represent the whole real process. Therefore, to meet those needs, an open-loop dynamic model of methyl acetate production process by using reactive distillation column has been built. Feed ratio, reflux ratio and reboiler duty were chosen to be the manipulated variables to make a better performance rather than only reflux flowrate and reboiler duty. Methyl acetate fraction in distillate and water fraction in bottom were still be selected as controlled variables, so a non-square open-loop dynamic model was formed.

Abstract:
Il lavoro sperimentale di questa tesi è stato condotto sulla coltivazione della diatomea Phaeodactylum tricornutum che grazie alla sua capacità di sintetizzare e di accumulare una elevata quantità di acidi grassi polinsaturi (PUFAs) ω-3 tra cui l’acido eicosapentanoico (EPA), ha un notevole interesse commerciale per la nutrizione umana. Il lavoro di tesi è stato svolto presso il Laboratorio di Biologia delle Alghe in due fasi sperimentali, nella prima, l’alga è stata coltivata usando un medium standard con due diversi rapporti molari N/P, valutando l’effetto della somministrazione di 1mg L-1 al giorno di CO2 sulla velocità di crescita e sulla composizione percentuale in termini di proteine polisaccaridi e lipidi della biomassa raccolta in fase stazionaria. I risultati ottenuti hanno mostrato che la somministrazione di CO2 durante la crescita dell’alga, determina un significativo incremento della biomassa algale ottenuta e una produzione maggiore di lipidi e polisaccaridi per cellula. Nella seconda fase sperimentale P.tricornutum è stata coltivata usando un refluo industriale con lo scopo di valutare la capacità dell’alga di rimozione dei componenti azotati e del fosforo per effettuare un processo di fitodepurazione e ridurre i costi dovuti all’impiego dei nutrienti nella coltivazione. I risultati ottenuti dimostrano che nel refluo l’alga presenta una velocità di crescita più elevata rispetto alle condizioni precedenti e, dopo la somministrazione di CO2, accumula una percentuale maggiore di proteine e di acidi grassi. In conclusione questi dati suggeriscono che l’utilizzo di un refluo industriale con la concomitante aggiunta di CO2 in basse concentrazioni nella coltivazione delle microalghe potrebbe ridurre i costi di produzione della biomassa su larga scala e consentirebbe di ottenere biomassa algale con un maggior valore commerciale.

Visto l’attuale fabbisogno di fosforo, è fondamentale, in un’ottica di sostenibilità ambientale, mettere a punto un trattamento che consenta di ottenere un efficiente recupero del fosforo. Il seguente lavoro di tesi si pone come obbiettivo quello di caratterizzare la prestazione di un adsorbente utilizzato in un impianto pilota presso l’università di Cranfield per il recupero del fosforo da acque reflue municipali dopo 2 anni di utilizzo, corrispondenti a 66 cicli di adsorbimento/desorbimento. In particolare sono state confrontate le prestazioni ottenibili dalla resina usata rigenerata con la procedura standard (mediante NaOH 2%) e con una procedura di ricondizionamento mediante un trattamento più forte (mediante NaOH 2% + NaCl 5%) con quelle della resina vergine. Le due tipologie di soluzione rigenerante serviranno a valutare il contributo all’adsorbimento totale delle nanoparticelle di HFO e dei gruppi funzionali presenti sulla resina. I test sono stati condotti sia in soluzioni sintetiche di fosfato (acqua demineralizzata a cui viene aggiunto un determinato quantitativo di sali di fosfato), sia in soluzioni reali (wastewaters, fornite dalla multiutility HERA). Lo studio è stato condotto mediante isoterme di adsorbimento e test in continuo (curve di breakthrough). I risultati ottenuti confermano che la resina, dopo due anni, mantiene ottime prestazioni, molto simili alla vergine. Il materiale ha mostrato una ottima resistenza meccanica, durabilità e facilità di rigenerazione, dimostrandosi un eccellente adsorbente per gli ortofosfati anche alle basse concentrazioni tipiche degli effluenti secondari di scarto. I test in continuo hanno inoltre mostrato come, alle tipiche concentrazioni delle acque reflue, la rigenerazione dei gruppi funzionali della resina mediante sodio cloruro non porti ad un significativo miglioramento delle proprietà adsorbenti. Dai dati ottenuti si può affermare con certezza che il ciclo vitale della resina risulta essere ben oltre i 2 anni.

Abstract:
Lo studio rappresenta uno screening primario di vari adsorbenti riguardo la loro capacità di rimuovere e recuperare l'ammonio dalle acque reflue urbane in base alla capacità e alla selettività. Sono state analizzate le prestazioni di diverse resine polimeriche e zeoliti e l'effetto di variabili come la temperatura, il pH, la concentrazione del mezzo adsorbente e la concentrazione iniziale di ammonio sull'efficienza di rimozione dell‘ammonio da acque sintetiche e da acque reflue urbane. Si tratta di uno dei primi tentativi di collocare un processo basato sull'adsorbimento all'interno di un impianto di trattamento delle acque reflue esistente per rimuovere e recuperare l'ammonio (NH4) dalle acque reflue urbane di scarico secondarie (MWW). Il processo proposto è stato caratterizzato da 4 aspetti importanti: I) Impiego di una resina a scambio ionico disponibile in commercio; II) Impiego di una zeolite naturale a basso costo e selettiva per il recupero dell'ammonio. III) Studio approfondito sulla selettività e la capacità di adsorbimento dei materiali adsorbenti in esame. IV) Realizzazione di un test di breakthrough completo per la rimozione dell'ammonio in modo continuo. V) Rigenerazione del materiale adsorbente e recupero dell'ammonio tramite test di desorbimento. I test su scala di laboratorio, che includevano due colonne in PVC per la rimozione di N-NH4 impaccate con la resine polimerica Amberlyst 15WET (disponibile in commercio) e la zeolite naturale (Cabasite-Phillipsite), sono andati con successo dopo 1 ciclo di adsorbimento/desorbimento trattando 40L di MWW effettivi (concentrazione media in ingresso di 45±1 mgNH4-N/L). La concentrazione di ammonio alla fine del desorbimento per la zeolite naturale era il doppio di quella di Amberlyst 15wet dimostrando che questa resina è una resina promettente nel processo di recupero dell'ammonio e sono necessari ulteriori sviluppi e ottimizzazioni.

Abstract:
This study fits into the context of activities aim at waste bioremediation and valorization through the production of energy according to principles of environmental sustainability. The experimental work was carried out at the laboratories of the Department of Civil Engineering, Environmental and Materials (DICAM) of the Faculty of Engineering. The main objective was to enhance the treatment of high organic loading waste, such as manure and cheese whey, through advanced anaerobic digestion systems in order to obtain biogas rich in methane. On the basis of the premise that the environmental conditions pertaining in most anaerobic wastewater digesters are not optimal for both fermentative and methanogenic microorganisms, the research was particularly focused on the implementation of two-phase anaerobic digesters. In fact a two-phase process permits selection and enrichment of different bacteria in each digester by independently controlling the digester operating conditions. Thus, the first phase (acidogenesis) can be operated to optimize acidogenic growth and the second phase (methanogenesis) to optimize methanogenic growth. (Ince O. , 1998). Before reactors’ set up, , some lab scale experiments were carried out to identify the best manure and whey ratio and the best conditions of temperature, pH, hydraulic retention time of acidogenesis an methanogenic phases.

Abstract:
Questo studio di tesi magistrale nasce dall’esigenza di contrastare il fenomeno dell’eutrofizzazione, accelerato dalla presenza di azoto ammoniacale (NH4+-N) nei fiumi e nei laghi. I processi biologici utilizzati per rimuovere l’ammonio dalle acque, ossidandolo a N2, sono ad alta intensità energetica e hanno difficoltà a raggiungere le concentrazioni di effluenti richieste inferiori a 1 mg∙L-1. Un obiettivo del recupero dell’ammonio è quello di trasformare questo nutriente in altri composti e fertilizzanti a partire da materiali di scarto, riducendo così significativamente la dipendenza dal processo Haber-Bosch per l'ottenimento di ammoniaca e urea, il quale utilizza ogni anno l’1-2 % della fornitura di energia mondiale. L’adsorbimento per scambio ionico è risultato un metodo interessante per la rimozione dell’ammonio dalle acque reflue a bassa concentrazione. Sono stati valutati diversi materiali adsorbenti tramite il confronto tra gli esperimenti riportati in letteratura, ovvero test in batch (isoterme), in continuo (breakthrough) e tramite la rielaborazione dei dati sperimentali con il modello cinetico di Thomas. Le zeoliti naturali e sintetiche, tra cui rispettivamente la Cabasite e la MesoLite, hanno mostrato le migliori proprietà come adsorbenti, ovvero buona capacità di adsorbimento ma soprattutto selettività, abbondanza, basso costo, resistenza a NaOH, resistenza meccanica e a compressione. La rigenerazione rappresenta un grande ostacolo per l’utilizzo del trattamento delle acque reflue a base di zeolite su vasta scala e in modo economicamente fattibile: alternative valide discusse sono lo stripping con membrana e la precipitazione tramite struvite. I possibili futuri candidati come materiali adsorbenti, sui quali si sta focalizzando la letteratura più recente, sono i materiali ceramici e in particolare i compositi di geopolimeri, che vantano proprietà di scambio ionico molto vicine a quelle delle zeoliti, data anche la somiglianza delle loro strutture.

O direito antitruste, atualmente ditado pela Lei 12.529 de 30 de novembro de 2011, e o direito da propriedade intelectual permeiam o ordenamento jurídico brasileiro buscando regrar condutas e procedimentos com vistas a tutelar, de um lado, a livre concorrência e, de outro, estimular a inovação e o desenvolvimento tecnológico do país. No exercício de ambos os direitos, muitas vezes observam-se conflitos, que aparentemente revelam uma contradição: a concessão de exclusividade de exploração de bens intangíveis, tais como patentes e desenhos industriais, conflita com a livre concorrência, sendo uma excludente da outra. Entretanto, essa contradição, como se verá, encontra-se superada. Em nosso sistema jurídico não há direitos absolutos que possam justificar a dominância pura e simples de um sobre o outro sem medir as consequências. O equilíbrio é buscado através da vedação legal aos abusos de direito, especialmente abusos de direito de propriedade intelectual e o exercício abusivo de poder econômico. Adicionalmente, a Constituição Federal subordina o uso da propriedade à sua função social. O presente estudo analisa as questões que envolvem esse aparente conflito e os abusos decorrentes do exercício desses direitos. O tema é introduzido com a análise da interface entre o direito da propriedade intelectual e o antitruste e as questões de direito dela decorrentes. A seguir, são analisados o abuso de direito, o abuso de poder econômico e o abuso de posição dominante, com destaque para o entendimento da existência de venda casada mesmo que o vínculo ocorra com diferimento no tempo. O estudo prossegue discorrendo sobre a livre iniciativa e a livre concorrência, bem como o instituto do desenho industrial e seu eventual uso abusivo. Também são analisados o mercado de reposição de peças e partes de produtos complexos e sua repercussão no Brasil e no exterior, e a posição do CADE sobre eventuais condutas anticompetitivas. A jurisprudência comentada ilustra as diversas posições doutrinárias acerca da matéria. O monopólio decorrente de direito de propriedade intelectual seria benéfico para a eficiência e regulação dos mercados, apesar de seus eventuais efeitos contra os interesses do consumidor? Este ensaio procura responder essa indagação, aprofundando o debate sobre o conflito entre o monopólio concedido por desenho industrial às peças de reposição de objetos complexos e a liberdade de escolha do consumidor. Oferece ainda uma proposta legislativa que visa assegurar o equilíbrio entre os direitos dos envolvidos.
The antitrust law, currently under Law 12,529, of November 30, 2011, and the intellectual property law is within the Brazilian juridical ordination, seeking to rule conducts and procedures intended to protect the free competition, on one hand, and to stimulate the innovation and technological development of the country, on the other hand. In the performance of both rights, conflicts are many times observed, which apparently reveal a contradiction: the granting of exclusivity for the exploitation of intangible goods, such as patents and industrial designs, conflicts with the free competition, excluding one another. Said contradiction, however, has been overcome, as it will be noticed. Our juridical system encompasses no absolute rights liable to justify the pure and simple dominance of one on the other, without assessing the consequences. The balance is searched by means of the legal prevention of the abuses of right, especially the abuses of the intellectual property law and the abusive exercise of the economic power. In addition, the Federal Constitution subordinates the use of property to its social function. This study analyzes the issues involving this apparent conflict and the abuses resulting from the enforcement of said rights. The theme is introduced with the analysis of the interface between the intellectual property right and the antitrust one and the resulting legal issues. Then, the abuse of right, the abuse of economic power and the abuse of the dominant position are analysed, pointing out the understanding of the existence of a tying arrangement, even though the binding occurs with deferral in time. The study proceeds by analyzing the free initiative and the free competition, as well as the industrial design institute and its eventual abusive use. The parts reposition and parts of complex products and their repercussion in Brazil and overseas, the CADE´s position as to eventual anticompetitive conducts are also analyzed. The commented jurisprudence illustrates the several opinion of jurists on this matter. Would the monopoly resulting from the intellectual property right benefit the market efficiency and regulation, despite the eventual effects against the consumer interests ? This paper seeks to reply such a question, by deepening the debate on the conflicts between the monopoly granted by industrial design to spare parts of complex objects and the consumer´s free choice. It also offers a legislative proposal intended to ensure the balance between the involved parties´ rights.

Abstract:

The subject of extensive research has been the establishing of lower temperature soldering of electronic assemblies that are similar to the once common yet still preferred eutectic Tin-Lead (SnPb) soldering manufacturing processes that are below 217 °C. This research opportunity will contribute data on mixed solder alloy assemblies that can be formed at lower process temperatures. There are many environmental and economic benefits of avoiding the current reliability concerns of assembling electronics at the standard high temperatures which peak at 230 °C 260 °C. To reduce this temperature the use of Bismuth containing solder pastes are mixing with the standard high temperature SAC solders for electronic assemblies. The materials evaluated are the (in weight percentages) 96.5Tin/3Silver/.5Copper (Sn/Ag/Cu) solder ball mixed with each solder paste, the eutectic 58Bismuth/42Tin (58Bi/42Sn), 57Bi/42Sn /1Ag and a propriety alloy that has a lower Bismuth content along with various micro alloys, 40-58Bi/Sn/X (X representing proprietary micro alloys or doping). In the assembly portion of this research the solder alloys were exposed to three different peak temperatures 180 °C, 195 °C, 205 °C. Another reflow profile attribute of focus was times above 138 °C the melting point of the eutectic Sn58Bi alloy. The ball and paste assembly portion of this research used the times above melting of 120sec and 240sec to represent process extremes and verify their significance on improving mixing level results. These times above melting did not consistently improve the mixing levels and therefore are not recommended or required during mixed low temperature solder assemblies. The results in this study suggest the recommended and optimum reflow profile to have a time above the melting point to be less than or equal to 90 seconds for mixed solder alloy assemblies in “low” (< 200 °C) peak temperature reflow oven profiles. This attribute ensures a reflow window similar to that of the eutectic SnPb processing. The second leg of this research was with a component assembly of a large ball grid array at the same various peak temperatures with a single time above 138 °C, 90sec. This “large” (> 20mm a side) component is a SAC405 solder balled BGA with the dimensions of 42 × 28 × 0.8mm. With any large component the temperature gradient across the component is a risk factor and the results show that there are significantly differences of mixing from the center of the component to the edge due to an average 2.3 °C temperature difference during convection reflow. The average mixing % levels recorded for Tpeak= 180 °C for the solder pastes with a 58Bi = 47%, 57Bi = 47% and 40-58Bi = 44%. The average mixing % levels recorded for Tpeak= 195 °C for the solder pastes with a 58Bi = 69%, 57Bi = 77% and 40-58Bi = 57%. The conclusions found also match previous work identifying the reflow peak temperatures remain a significant factor on the mixing %. This work’s goal was to add to the knowledge of the electronics industry to better understanding the microstructure and mixing mechanisms of Bi/Sn/X-SAC solder joints for low temperature reflow assembly processes.

As the world moves towards eliminating lead from consumer products, the microelectronics industry has put effort into developing lead-free solder paste. The major drawback of lead-free solder is the problems caused by its high reflow temperature. Variable frequency microwave (VFM) processing has been shown to allow some materials to be processed at lower temperatures. Issues addressed in this study include using VFM to reduce the solder reflow temperature, comparing the heating rate of different size solder particles, and comparing the reliability of VFM reflowed solder versus conventionally reflowed solder. Results comparing the effect of particle size on the heating rate of solder showed that the differences were negligible. This is due in part to the particle sizes overlapping. Many lead-free solder pastes reflow around 250℃. Results indicate that when using the VFM, lead-free solder paste will reflow at 220℃. The reliability of solder that was reflowed using the VFM at the reduced temperature was found to be comparable to solder reflowed in a conventional manner. Based on these findings, VFM processing can eliminate the major obstacles to making lead-free solder paste a more attractive option for use in the microelectronics industry.
