The thesis analyses the position and potential of organic farming in regional development or more precisely rural development in local area of farming of particular organic farms in the Czech Republic environment. It judges correlation among socio-economic indicators, share of organic farming land on agricultural land in the local area and share of less favoured area in administrative local unit of the Municipalities with extended competence. The part of the thesis deals with delimitation of term "Rural area" and its specification in particular patterns, and analysis of the same indicators as mentioned above in each of the pattern.

The diploma thesis deals with the impact of innovation on regional development. The theoretical section explains the basic concepts of innovation and regional development, and describes the importance of innovation for regional development. The knowledge gained in the theoretical part is applied to the Central Region in the practical part of this thesis. Firstly, the individual actors in the Central innovation system are characterized and then their impact on the development of the region is outlined. Subsequently, the influence of the European Union support trough the Operational Programmes for the development of the region is evaluated. Due to the fact that innovation is the holder of sustainable economic growth and competitiveness of the region, the final chapter is dedicated to the innovative performance of the Central Region and to the comparison of the individual counties according to their level of competitiveness.

After reading the thesis, the reader is acquainted with terminology of tourism and its fundamental topics. Furthermore, correlation between culture and tourism will be explained. Culture as one of the significant tourism inducements. It brings plenty of both positive and negative influence on the environment, which is closely outlined. The presented work focuses on the town of Hradec Králové which is described in details, particularly from the point of view of population, economy, infrastructure and culture. The pivot of the thesis is the culture area Festivalpark which is located at the suburbs of Hradec Králové. The work deals with history of the area, its specifics and main events which have taken place in there. Both positive and negative influence of the Festivalpark on Hradec Králové will be assessed by the SWOT method on the basis of the work with data, collected from all accessible subjects who are affected by the existence of the Festivalpark.

The thesisi is determined by the general definition of entrepreneur, small and medium-sized enterprises, business environment, related laws and sources of funding. General definitions were applied in the case study on the specific region -- microregion of Podralsko. Public administration support of small and medium-sized enterprises occurs either in direct or indirect form, the sources of fundings may be drawn from the state budget, from the local-authorities budget and from european sources. The role od public administration and other institutions in small and medium-sized enterprises support affects small and medium-sized enterprises on natinal, regional and local level of microregions and municipalities.

The dissertation thesis is focused on regional food labelling schemes in Vysočina Region and their impact on regional development, from the consumers perspective. Chosen economic and social aspects were analysed: the quality and content of the information on the regional labels in media, preference of regional food among inhabitants of Vysočina Region, their regional food preferences and awareness of regional labels. The research was conducted in two phases. Content analysis of media aimed to analyse media presence and occurance of the characteristics attached to each regional label: VYSOČINA Regional Product and Regional Food Vysočina Region. The other research had quantitative design and aimed to determine level of awareness of the labels among Vysočina inhabitants. To test the ability of respondents from Vysočina Region to recognise and differentiate the labels, the author created non existent label From Our Region Vysočina. Media analysis of the Vysočina regional labels revealed that media may help build awareness about the labels as they have been informing about them continuously, but they emphasise that these labels signal above all quality and origin, diminishing special connection with the region and its tradition. The research of regional labels awareness showed that respondents do not pay attention to the labels as almost 24% of 819 respondents claimed they had already seen non-existent label. This could be a viewed as a sign of the food labels inflation with their rising number and very low differentiation it is impossible for the conumers to differentiate them and also that people do not pay attention to them. Further analysis confirmed that respondents preferences and views on the regional labels from the Vysočina districts differ.

The first part also describes differentiation of development of SME among the regions of Czech Republic. The second part is focused on features that determine SME. The data for the analysis are gained from the Statistical Office and questionnaire research. The results of analysis will be resumed in the end of graduation thesis.

This paper begins with looking at air travel and its history in the world and in our country. It also includes the factors influencing air transport to regional development. The main part is focused on the analysis of regional air transport in the Czech Republic. Airports are described by regions, including the evaluation of their significance. The five largest airports in our country are analyzed in detail, including their history, air connections and the potential development. The aim of this paper is to clarify the impact of aviation on regional development in the Czech Republic. The question is if there are any effects and in the case that yes, to which factors and how big is the influence. Recommendations for the future how best and most effective way to combine air travel with its surroundings will be formulated based on the collected data and findings.

This thesis deals with the social and economic development a village Vysoká which is located in the Central Bohemian Region, north of the town of Melnik. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part briefly introduces the concept of regional and sustainable development, spatial planning and strategic management. The following describes the principles of regional policy. The attention is also paid to the issue of settlements, urbanization and the basic principles of functioning of municipalities. The basic characteristics of the community and its territorial-administrative arrangement in the practical part, is processed first. This is followed by a summary of a historical development of socio-economic as well as a description of external relations of the village in the microregion. Then the thesis analyzes results of research on the population of the municipality (employment, education, age structure, etc.) and housing. Detailed processing concerns economic issues such as labor market, entreprise and unemployment. Due to its geographic position, the question of tourism is important for the village Vysoká. Transport and technical infrastructure and management of the municipality is also examined. Research findings were taken into account when processing SWOT analysis and in the proposal of key development directions.

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá kriminologickými aspekty trestných činů v ČR se zaměřením na socio-ekonomické a prostorové charakteristiky páchané kriminality a regionální diferenciaci kriminality v ČR. Součástí diplomové práce je popis vývoje teorií objasňujících kriminalitu, tedy vývoje kriminologických přístupů, včetně současného ekonomického přístupu ke kriminalitě prezentovaného zástupci chicagské školy. Úvodní obecná analýza regionální diferenciace kriminality je v diplomové práci základním kamenem pro následnou detailní analýzu majetkové kriminality a vzájemných závislostí mezi naměřenými hodnotami majetkové kriminality a socio-ekonomickými jevy, provedené za účelem hlubšího pochopení kriminality jako sociálního fenoménu. Zároveň práce pojednává o možnostech predikce vývoje trestné činnosti a budoucích hrozeb v podobě nárůstu kriminality ve strukturálně postižených a hospodářsky slabých regionech, a také poskytuje možná doporučení, jak potenciálním hrozbám předcházet. Diplomová práce by měla poskytnout ucelený pohled na kriminalitu v ČR tak, aby se mohla stát případným podkladem pro příjímání opatření orgány veřejné správy za účelem sociální kontroly.

This thesis examines the development of selected regional airports in the Czech Republic. The first part of this research focuses on the general field of air transportation, and concentrates primarily on airports. More specifically, this thesis describes various aspects of the operations of an airport, paying particular attention to the economic features of airport operations and management. The second central part of this research is devoted to presenting a set of detailed case studies of three regional airports, namely Plzeň -- Líně, Vodochody and České Budějovice. This section of the dissertation describes and analyses the context, strength and weaknesses of each of these airports using a specific evaluation framework. The final part of this thesis concludes by outlining, in terms of the evidence presented, (1) the potential for further development of the three regional airport case studies, and (2) proposals for overcoming specific barriers to further growth.

The real data were collected using a questionnaire survey and structured interviews in the various organizations that resulted in evaluation of general understanding of activities in this field.
The major result of the thesis is to get more information about job content of the organizations that are engaged in the social business in agriculture and demonstrate its value and potential for the future.

This thesis deals with the competition "Regional food" and its link to the development and promotion of the regions. The main aim of this thesis is to suggest a method of use of food products awarded in the competition "Regional food" for development and advertisement of regions. Another aim is to offer measures and activities that can be taken into practice, that could be helpful for the competition itself in the future development. The first part of this thesis is aimed on theoretical relationship in examined issues. It is described the meaning of the regions, possibilities for development connected to tourism, labeling food products in the Czech Republic and also information about the most spread brands in Czech that state their quality and origin could be found there. The second part of the thesis provides quantitative research between the residents of Central and South Bohemia and qualitative restricted research between producers of awarded food products. Both parts of the research, qualitative and quantitative, are aimed on perceiving and valorizing the award Regional food. In the conclusion are suggested the ways how to use awarded food products for the region development and also pointed out ideas that could be helpful for Regional food competition in its future development.

The thesis aims to draft procedures for regional development. The goal is going to define standardized processes, which aim to take advantage of the activities of foreign investors in the Central Bohemia Region, these investment activities positively getting on the development of employment rate. The methodology includes the application of regression analysis in which is the explanatory variables, the volume of foreign direct investment (independent variable) and the dependent variable is the emplyment people who have permanent home in the Central Bohemia Region. To maintain the investment activity is necessary to create the local authorities suitable conditions for investors through guaranteed prices of commercial area. The assumption is that investor interest will be remain only in the event, that they gonna to be offered a guaranteed price of commercial area. The task for the public administration is in the interest of investors and the public interest. The result of regression analysis is, used to determine the optimal scope of commercial area offer. Therefore, to design solutions also falls adjustment and correction of territorial development in the Central Bohemia Region.

The diploma thesis is focusing on the topic of the regional product with the aiming on the regional food and gastro-tourism as a modern trend that can lead to the development of the tourism and regional development. The main goal of the diploma thesis is to show the importance of the regional product on the regional development of the Poděbrady region with the focus on the gastro-tourism that is developing in the recent years in the Czech Republic. On the basis of the quantitative research and the qualitative research, the thesis is finding out how the Poděbrady region stands from the point of view of the regional product, how the Poděbrady region supports the regional production, what its current status is, whether there are any regional feed in the Poděbrady region that should be local attraction for tourists, and what the attitudes of the respondents to regional production are. The questioning was realized by the questionnaire (quantitative research) and by interviews (qualitative research). The diploma thesis points out that the gastro-tourism usage for the regional development is very limited and it remains out of the interest of the regional representatives. The differentiation of regional activities is the way of fulfilling the capacity and ensuring the better probability of the faster development.

The first part of the thesis defines the basic concepts of strategic planning and describes the methods and procedures applied in the creation of programming documents. The second part deals with the analysis of programming documents in chosen regions. Conclusion of this work evaluates the process of creation, negotiation and approval of programming documents and each document is evaluated from the viewpoint of content and formal qualities, including the shortcomings, which occured in described programming documents.

In my master thesis the issue of regional development of the Czech Republic and the Netherlands in relation to the educational structure of their inhabitants has been dealt. The main aim of the paper was determined whether the highest level of education of the economically active population of both countries affects their regional development. I decided to compare the Czech Republic with the Netherlands because both countries are small open economies dependent on export to Germany, members of the European Union. However the Netherlands belongs among the richest countries in the world, has a high standard of living of the population and is characterised for a quality of education system. The relation between regional development and educational structure of inhabitants in the Czech Republic and the Netherlands was examined using the regression linear model. The cohesion regions were chosen as the basic units of comparative analysis in both countries. The regional development were defined according to 5th Cohesion report by 5 macroeconomic indicators. In compliance with output of regression analysis the relation between educational structure of economically active population and macroeconomic indicators, which represented regional development was not entirelly proved.

This thesis deals with ways of sustainability measurement at the regional level. In the theoretical part apart from definition and evolution of the concept related fields and different approaches to sustainable development are presented. Further, data sources and suitable characteristics of ideal indicators are discussed. In the application part methods applicable to measuring sustainable development along with restraints and possible problematic areas are introduced. Subsequently, these methods are applied to individual regional levels according to CZ-NUTS classification (NUTS 1 to NUTS 3 levels and LAU 1 and LAU 2 levels). At the end of the thesis, the most suitable techniques of results' presentation are introduced. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate and assess the ways of practical use of mainly quantitative methods (statistical methods and modelling techniques) for analysis and measurement of regional development sustainability and to suggest the most convenient methods for individual regional levels. The thesis answers three research questions: if one method is useful for all "regional" levels; if it is better to assess sustainability from the point of view of pillar or capital approach; and finally, if it is for measuring of sustainability more proper one summarizing (composite) indicator or indicators' set including more indicators.

This thesis occupies mainly by problemacy of social-demografic evolution and general development of region Trebišov after 1989. After theroretic entry is the paper pointing, in analytic part, on finding main specifics and berriers of this region, its main actual problems and concurrency assets. Apportionable parts are then dealing with qualitative and quantitative characteristics of population, environment, transport and its avalaibility and at last the state of regional economy, evaluation of economics conditions for future expansion, characteristic and troubles of local labour market. In synthetic and final part I'm trying to suggest main field and strategies of future progres of this region, built on respective SWOT analysis. The part of this paper is also an evaluation of some current investment and developing projects, benefits of frontier cooperation and proposed specific remedies.

Práce se zabývá modelováním rekreační poptávky po letních aktivitách v centrální části Jizerských hor. Současně zkoumá vliv některých faktorů na změnu poptávky po této rekreační lokalitě. K tomuto účelu používá single site model metody cestovních nákladů. Předpokladem modelu je záporný vztah mezi množstvím výletů a cestovními náklady. Single site model umožňuje odhadnout spotřebitelský přebytek, který je spojen se současnou návštěvou Jizerských hor.

Tato práce charakterizuje cestovní ruch a jeho formy z hlediska jeho dopadu na hospodářský vývoj regionu. Zabývá se vývojem cestovního ruchu v České republice po roce 1989, dále hodnotí region Česká Lípa z hlediska polohy a jejího vlivu na rozvoj cestovního ruchu v regionu a obyvatelstva z demografického hlediska. Zaměřuje se i na vliv dopravní infrastruktury a přírodních podmínek na cestovní ruch. Soustřeďuje se na zdroje cestovního ruchu jako turistické zajímavosti, kulturní i přírodní památky a na hlavní centra a oblasti cestovního ruchu z hlediska atraktivity území. Dále práce analyzuje turistickou infrastrukturu jako ubytování a informační centra, možnosti rozvoje cestovního ruchu v regionu a vliv cestovního ruchu na rozvoj regionu. Předmětem analýzy jsou také způsoby propagace regionu. Závěrem práce hodnotí využití stávajícího potenciálu regionu, přínos cestovního ruchu i to, jak ovlivňuje rozvoj daného území. Navrhuje v tomto ohledu způsoby zlepšení a možnosti budoucího vývoje.

The thesis investigates benefits of the new bike path Hradec Králové,Josefov, Kuks for the area of travel business in a relationship to surrounding subjects. In order to fulfill goals of the empirical part of the work, in theoretical part it was necessary to study relevant regulations and professional literature that comes out of theoretical fundamentals of knowledge, context and mutual relationships in the area of travel business. Further the author has studied relevant regulations and professional literature in the area of regional politics and bike transportation.
The transition between theoretical and empirical part constitutes of secondary analysis of the data on subjects surrounding the bike path. Through the secondary data the author could categorize studied subjects to the groups of municipalities, enterprise subjects and attractions.

Hlavním cílem práce je navrhnout metodiku hodnocení dopadů programu SROP na rozvoj cestovního ruchu v krajích ČR a dle zvolené metodiky hodnocení provést. Práce se skládá ze tří částí. V první části je přiblížena základní struktura programu, implementační struktura a stručný postup administrace projektů. Ve druhé části práce jsou prostřednictvím charakteristiky podpořených projektů přiblíženy jednotlivé priority programu SROP; zejména priorita 4 ? Rozvoj cestovního ruchu. Ve třetí části je navržena metodika a na jejím základě následně provedena analýza dopadů programu SROP na rozvoj cestovního ruchu v krajích ČR. Nedílnou část práce přestavují přílohy, které obsahují např. seznam použitých zkratek, definice často používaných pojmů, seznam a definice monitorovacích ukazatelů využitých při analýze efektivnosti programu a fotodokumentaci podpořených projektů.

The aim of the thesis is to evaluate environmental education and environmental behavior for the development of the Usti Region and propose background to this issue. A partial objective is to determine the level of environmental education in secondary schools and among the public.
The work consists of theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part is elaborated on the basis of scientific literature, using methods of analysis, synthesis and comparison. The practical part is based on qualitative and quantitative sociological survey. The quantitative survey was conducted through questionnaires among high school students and the public from the Usti Region. Qualitative research was conducted between actors involved in environmental education from the same region. In conclusion, the thesis is to evaluate the environmental education in secondary schools and environmental behavior among the public in the region and proposed recommendations.

This thesis deals with the topic covering social and economic development of the municipality Mikulov located in South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. The introductory theoretical part defines the basic terms which are public administration, local government, and characteristics of the municipality and its respective authorities. Furthermore, it describes the regional development and also explains in detail the regional policy in the EU, and the Czech Republic. The final chapter of the theoretical part presents specific concepts of the regional development. The beginning of the practical part characterizes the nature of Mikulov including the history of the area. The crucial part of the thesis is the analysis of the current socio-economic situation of Mikulov with the focus on demographic characteristics, economic environment, labour market, civic amenities, culture, sport and leisure, tourism, transport and technical infrastructure, and environment. The conclusions derived from all these areas are summarized in the SWOT analysis. At the end, the thesis indentifies key recommendations on various areas for Mikulovs development.

This MA thesis examines the effects of wind and photovoltaic power plants on the regional development using the standard regional and statistical analysis tools. The theoretical part focuses on the macroeconomical point of view concerning the support of renewable energy sources. The consequences for Czech economy can be seen as greatly negative. The practical part includes case studies and focuses on specific municipalities. The result of the findings is that the construction of photovoltaic powe plants does not have a negative impact on the development of municipalities, in the case of smaller ones it can even be seen as an economic asset.

The main goal of the study was to find out and compare the significance of the received subsidies in the development of Chanovice, Pačejov, Myslív and Velký Bor villages. My work in the first place dealt with subsidies as an important part of a village income and as a tool for their development.
The theoretical part is based on the study of special literature and other relevant sources relating to the examined issues. Attention is given to regional development, within which the two programming periods (2007 2013 and 2014 2020) are compared and also the financing of villages.
The knowledge gained in the theoretical part are followed by secondary data analysis, in which it was found that the received subsidies hold an important position in the structure of Chanovice and Pačejov village incomes in the two other villages that position is not so important. Thanks to received subsidies in the period 2007 2013 the villages implemented a lot of developing projects, either infrastructural (most Pačejov village) or other (especially Chanovice village) character. In the framework of the infrastructure based projects all municipalities used the subsidies to build and repaire their water and transport infrastructures. Another field where the municipalities aimed the subsidies was field of education.
Based on semi-structured interviews with mayors of selected villages the empirical part of my work was worked out afterward. The mayors share the opinion that the village development especially the development connected with infrastructure, the subsidies are necessary, but the way to obtain them is very difficult and costly for the small villages

The diploma thesis titled Evaluation of the influence of the grant programs aimed at the management and development of city, deals with the analysis of grant projects and resources received by the selected municipalities, which is the town of Sedlec-Prčice. The village lies on the border of middle and southern Bohemia, 70 km south of Prague in the district of Příbram. In the village live permanently over 2 700 inhabitants. The thesis is focused on the analysis of the investment action undertaken in support of the grant funds not only from the European union in the programming period 2007 to 2013 and the evaluation of their impact on the management of and development of the municipality. The result of the thesis is to assess the economic impact of the subsidies on the farming village and the assessment of the impact of the projects implemented through financial support from different sources on the development in the village, or on the quality of life of the local population, to which contributed the conclusions of a questionnaire survey conducted on the territory of the city.

The aim of the thesis was chosen with respect to the statement from literature, that industrial zones stimulate economic activity through making new jobs. In the first part of work are described teoretical fundamentals present by Czech and also foreign authors, who are focused on industrial zones problematics, characteristics of industrial zones in the Czech Republic and localization. In the second part are two case studies of strategic industrial zones Most-Joseph and Ostrava-Mošnov. The component of case studies is analysis of statistics for the period from 2000 to 2012, which results from observation of casual relations between development of zones and their surrounding areas lead to identification of economic and social impacts of strategic industrial zone on the development of the region.

RESUMÉ Regional development is, in the broader context, dealing with the competitive advantage of regions, which significantly influences the character of entrepreneurship and innovation. The principles of regional development are based on the ability of the environment to create new knowledge and innovation, which is then capitalized in the market. The economic performance of regions ensures sustainable development, social harmony and also eliminates regional disparities. It is the uneven development of regions that is creating the economic and social environment of social inclusion and, in the process, causes labor migration and economic backwardness in certain areas. The European principle of regional development on the basis of cohesion is ensured through economic tools and directed by investing public funds into land development and human resources. Funds are distributed in a way that should serve the best to strengthen the competitiveness of the less competitive regions. Economic situation in the Central Europe is to a big extent influenced by the disparities between core regions (mostly the capitals) and the rest. If the gap between cores and peripheries is still widening, local governments of peripheral regions must come up with policies to protect their economies from the globalised world. This basic statement is examined in this work using two different methods: regionalised input-output analysis (for Czech regions) trying to discover structural differences between regions and its implications, and NEG equilibrium simulation method examining agglomeration forces in the Central Europe and evaluating possible outcomes of protective policies in terms of NTBs (limiting the openness). The results confirm the agglomeration tendencies and suggest mainly two ways of effective policies: regional specialisation and investments into infrastructure, which would lower the transaction costs within the peripheral regions. This work provides information about the system of drawing financial means from EU structural funds at the turning point of two program periods. The theoretical part briefly describes the system of drawing financial means on the level of Czech Republic and subsequently on the level of Pardubice region. It projects the expected changes in the system of drawing financial means in the program period 2007- 2013 in comparison with the years 2004-2006. This theoretical fundament is important for understanding the continuity in the practical part. The practical part of the work describes the current situation in managing the projects financed from EU funds on the level of Pardubice region. It's main focus is the identification of strong and weak spots. Based on the findings of a qualitative research (focus group method) it provides a proposal for engaging the change process.
