The purpose of this study was to explore formal and functional characteristics of e-mail letters. Two types of e-mail letters were subjected to analysis - formal and informal. The method chosen for the study was content analysis. The formal and functional characteristics of e-mails were compared to the formal and functional characteristics of conventional letters.
