Abstract:
Organizing and archiving statistical results and processing a subset of those results for publication are important and often underestimated issues in conducting statistical analyses. Because automation of these tasks is often poor, processing results produced by statistical packages is quite laborious and vulnerable to error. I will therefore present a new package called estout that facilitates and automates some of these tasks. This new command can be used to produce regression tables for use with spreadsheets, LATEX, HTML, or word processors. For example, the results for multiple models can be organized in spreadsheets and can thus be archived in an orderly manner. Alternatively, the results can be directly saved as a publication-ready table for inclusion in, for example, a LATEX document. estout is implemented as a wrapper for estimates table but has many additional features, such as support for mfx. However, despite its flexibility, estout is-I believe-still very straightforward and easy to use. Furthermore, estout can be customized via so-called defaults files. A tool to make available supplementary statistics called estadd is also provided.

The 1972 table of norms for the Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scale does not include scores for adults who achieve Mental Ages (MA) below 5–3. To standardize assignment of IQ for severely and profoundly retarded adults scoring in this range, a regression analysis of the 1972 tabled values at the Chronological Age (CA) 18–0 level was performed. From the resulting regression equation, a table containing extrapolated IQs for MAs 2–0 through 5–11 was produced which can be used to standardize estimates of IQ for low-functioning adults.

Abstract:
This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between the Cultural Organization of the Cooperative Members Participation in Telkom Employees Cooperative (KOPEGTEL) East Jakarta. This research was conducted at Telkom Employees Cooperative (KOPEGTEL) for approximately one month, starting from November 2011 until December 2011. The method used is survey method with the correlational approach. The population in this study are all members of Koperasi Pegawai Telkom (KOPEGTEL) in East Jakarta. While the population is affordable cooperative members who are in the central office PT.Telkom East Jakarta branch. The samples used were 58 members. The sampling technique in this research is proporsial sampling technique to sample tables at the level of 5% error. Calculation of research data begins with finding regression equation and obtained y = 33.11 + 0,737X. Then test requirements normality test data analysis with error estimates using formula Lilifoers. L value obtained from the calculation count = 0.077 whereas L table for n = 58 is 0.116. Because L count <L table, then the estimated error normality test regression of Y on X indicates that the error estimates of regression of Y on X normal distribution. The results of calculations to test the significance of regression (α = 0.05) was obtained F count = 36.94 and F table = 4.03. Because the F count> F table, the regression model is significant. For the calculation of the regression linearity test (α = 0.05) was obtained F count = 0,92 and 2,08 F table. Since F arithmetic <F table, then the model is a linear regression equation. Hypothesis testing using the formula of Pearson Product Moment correlation r xy yield of 0.630 while the results of the significance test obtained t count ttable by 6.08 and 1.68. Due t count> t table, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between organizational culture with Cooperative Members Participation in Telkom Employees Cooperative (KOPEGTEL) East Jakarta. Calculation of the coefficient of determination showed 39.74% variation of the variable Y is determined by the variable X. It is concluded that there is a positive relationship between organizational culture relationships with the participation of Members Cooperative. More conducive organizational culture, the higher participation of the Cooperative Members

Abstract:
Biomass tables are often constructed from cluster samples by means of ordinary least squares regression estimation procedures. These procedures assume that sample observations are uncorrelated, which ignores the intracluster correlation of cluster samples and results in underestimates of the model error. We tested alternative estimation procedures by simulation under a variety of cluster sampling methods, to determine combinations of sampling and estimation procedures that yield accurate parameter estimates and reliable estimates of error. Modified, generalized, and jack-knife least squares procedures gave accurate parameter and error estimates when sample trees were selected with equal probability. Regression models that did not include height as a predictor variable yielded biased parameter estimates when sample trees were selected with probability proportional to tree size. Models that included height did not yield biased estimates. There was no discernible gain in precision associated with sampling with probability proportional to size. Random coefficient regressions generally gave biased point estimates with poor precision, regardless of sampling method.

Abstract:
A general method is discussed, the δ-test, which establishes functional dependencies given a table of measurements. The approach is based on calculating conditional probabilities from data densities. Imposing the requirement of continuity of the underlying function the obtained values of the conditional probabilities carry information on the variable dependencies. The power of the method is illustrated on synthetic time-series with different time-lag dependencies and noise levels. For N data points the computational demand is N2. Also, the same method is used for estimating nonlinear regression errors and their distributions without performing regression. Comparing the predicted residual errors with those from linear models provides a signal for nonlinearity. The virtue of the method in the context of feedforward neural networks is stressed with respect to preprocessing data and tracking residual errors.

Abstract:
In this work, two kinds of partial least squares modelling methods are applied to predict a compressor map: one uses a power function polynomial as the basis function (PLSO), and the other uses a trigonometric function polynomial (PLSN). To demonstrate the potential capabilities of PLSO and PLSN for a typical interpolated prediction and an extrapolated prediction, they are compared with two other classical data-driven modelling methods, namely the look-up table and artificial neural network (ANN). PLSO and PLSN are also compared with each other. The results show that PLSO and PLSN have a better prediction performance than the look-up table and the ANN, especially for the extrapolated prediction. The computational time is also decreased sharply. Compared with PLSO, PLSN is characterized by a higher prediction accuracy and shorter computational time than PLSO. It is expected that PLSN could save computational time and also improve the accuracy of a thermodynamic model of a diesel engine.

The purpose of this research is to study Horizontal Swing and Hexagon Drill Training on the ability to play table tennis. Experimental research methods. Participants were 12 male students of the SMK Negeri 1 Stabat class who took part in table tennis extracurricular activities. Sampling was done by purposive sampling of 6 students. Purposive Sampling technique was taken because of several considerations namely limited time, energy, and funds so that it cannot take large samples. Considerations in taking samples are old students who take extracurricular table tennis. The study was conducted for 6 weeks with a frequency of exercise 3 times each week. After the data is obtained, then the data is processed using regression analysis techniques. The results of the study that were approved by the Horizontal Swing Exercise on the ability to play tennis students obtained Fcount = 0.14 and Ftable = 7.71, then Fo <from Ftable, the regression conclusion is not significant and there is no Horizontal Swing Exercise exercise on the ability to play table tennis of male students. While Hexagon Drill Training on the ability to play table tennis students obtained Fcount 0.01 and Ftable 7.71 then F0 <Ftabel, the regression conclusion is not meaningful and there is no contribution of Hexagon Drill Training on the ability to play table tennis of male students. The results of the multiple regression assessment of Horizontal Swing and Hexagon Drill Training on the ability to play table tennis for male students of grade 1 at SMK Negeri 1 Stabat obtained Fcount of 0.02 and Ftable of 9.55, thus Fcount <Ftable, no one is expected. table tennis male student class of SMK Negeri 1 Stabat.

Abstract:
Table grape quality is of importance for consumers and thus for producers. Its objective quality is usually determined by destructive methods mainly based on sugar content. This study proposed to evaluate the possibility of hyperspectral imaging to characterize table grapes quality through its sugar (TSS), total flavonoid (TF), and total anthocyanin (TA) contents. Different data pre-treatments (WD, SNV, and 1st and 2nd derivative) and different methods were tested to get the best prediction models: PLS with full spectra and then Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) were realized after selecting the optimal wavelengths thanks to the regression coefficients (β-coefficients) and the Variable Importance in Projection (VIP) scores. All models were good at showing that hyperspectral imaging is a relevant method to predict sugar, total flavonoid, and total anthocyanin contents. The best predictions were obtained from optimal wavelength selection based on β-coefficients for TSS and from VIPs optimal wavelength windows using SNV pre-treatment for total flavonoid and total anthocyanin content. Thus, good prediction models were proposed in order to characterize grapes while reducing the data sets and limit the data storage to enable an industrial use.

Abstract:
Consider a set of categorical variables P where at least one, denoted by Y , is binary. The log-linear model that describes the contingency table counts implies a logistic regression model, with outcome Y . Extending results from Christensen (1997, Log-linear models and logistic regression , 2nd edn. New York, NY, Springer), we prove that the maximum-likelihood estimates (MLE) of the logistic regression parameters equals the MLE for the corresponding log-linear model parameters, also considering the case where contingency table factors are not present in the corresponding logistic regression and some of the contingency table cells are collapsed together. We prove that, asymptotically, standard errors are also equal. These results demonstrate the extent to which inferences from the log-linear framework translate to inferences within the logistic regression framework, on the magnitude of main effects and interactions. Finally, we prove that the deviance of the log-linear model is equal to the deviance of the corresponding logistic regression, provided that no cell observations are collapsed together when one or more factors in P ∖ { Y } become obsolete. We illustrate the derived results with the analysis of a real dataset.

Abstract:
This paper addresses the problem of efficiency in reinforcement learning of Single Robot Hose Transport (SRHT) by training an Extreme Learning Machine (ELM) from the state-action value Q-table, obtaining large reduction in data space requirements because the number of ELM parameters is much less than the Q-table's size. Moreover, ELM implements a continuous map which can produce compact representations of the Q-table, and generalizations to increased space resolution and unknown situations. In this paper we evaluate empirically three strategies to formulate ELM learning to provide approximations to the Q-table, namely as classification, multi-variate regression and several independent regression problems.

Abstract The early regression of the fidejussor implies his ability to "turn" against the debtor even before he pays something to the creditor „To turn against“ in the sense of the new Civil Code, does not mean the right to actually receive a payment before the fidejussor has paid, at least in part, the claim of the creditor in whose favor he has guaranteed. The same principle applies in insolvency proceedings where the fidejussor, who has not paid anything yet, may exercise early regression, but his claim against the debtor will be a potential, conditional one, reason for which it will be included in the debt table under suspensive condition, without voting rights.

Abstract:
Cotton-breeding trials are conducted annually throughout the commercial growing regions of eastern Australia. Accumulated yield data for the period 1974-85 were assembled into an incomplete cultivar x location x year table. This table was then analysed in order to compare test locations. The method involved analysing cultivar x location tables separately for each year, using symmetric joint regression analysis. Results were then collected into location x year tables and further analysed. Four criteria for comparing test locations were developed. The discrimination criterion is important when locations are evaluated in terms of their ability to display cultivar differences. The representation criterion measures the ability of a location to mirror the relative performance of cultivars over all locations. The other 2 criteria are concerned with the mean yield at test locations and the stability of location yields over years. Based on the 4 criteria, preferred test locations are recommended.

Abstract:
As is known, finding the parameters of multiple linear regression is an important case. Of course, these parameters can be easily found with the help of the computer. In this study, in addition to the formula of the parameters of linear regression, the general formulas of the parameters of 5 and less independent variables of multiple linear regression are given with a certain order. The derivations of the formulas presented are given step by step. In addition to classical matrix form, these new formulas for estimation of the parameters of multiple linear regression could be proposed especially to the researchers not using computer program for calculating the complex operations. By using these formulas, the researcher can estimate easily the parameters of multiple linear regression without using a computer and so the researcher can compose easily the table of variance analysis to interpret the regression made. Since for 6 and more independent variables, the tables of the parameters of multiple linear regression are too long and they take up too much space, the general formulas of the parameters of 6 and more independent variables of multiple linear regression could not be given in this study.

Abstract:
Introduction: Mixed dentition space analysis necessitates accurate prediction of size of the unerupted permanent teeth. The methods commonly employed are the radiographs, correlation and regression equations, or a combination. Much interest was developed on the application of prediction tables and regression equations to avoid the radiation exposure. However, the predicted values and equations have been reported to be inaccurate on populations other than on which they were developed on. We intended to evaluate the applicability of the Moyer’s probability table and Tanaka Johnston equation in estimating the mesiodistal widths of mandibular and maxillary permanent canines and premolars in adolescents of the Galle District. Material and Methods: Data were collected from study models of 318 randomly selected school students aged 13– 16 years with fully erupted, intact dentitions and no significant malocclusion. The measurements were obtained by a digital caliper with a Vernier scale calibrated to the nearest 0.01 mm. The data were subjected to statistical analysis to compare the actual and predicted values from Moyer’s probability table and Tanaka Johnston equation. Results: There was a statistically significant difference when Pearson correlation two-tailed significance test was used. The actual mesiodistal width of permanent canines and premolars and predicted widths from Moyer’s probability chart at all levels for males and females showed a statistically significant difference at 0.01 level. The values from Tanaka Johnston equation also showed a statistically significant difference at P = 0.01/R = 0.47. Conclusion: Moyer’s prediction table and Tanaka Johnston equation must be carefully used for children in Galle District, Sri Lanka. Therefore, it might be safer to develop regression equations for our population.

Abstract:
The aim of the research was to determine the effects of applied technical and tactical characteristics of table tennis players on their success in competitions. The representative sample consisted of 48 top senior table tennis players from Bosnia and Herzegovina, age 18 and 36, selected on the basis of a qualification tournament. The measuring instruments for this study included eight assessment tests for the table tennis players' technical and tactical characteristics and one test for assessing success in table tennis competitions. Technical and tactical characteristics of the participants were evaluated by five experts who analyzed the efficacy of technical and tactical characteristics of the players on a scale ranging from 1 to 5. The methods of processing the results included descriptive statistical procedures, the multiple correlation coefficient, the determinant coefficient and a multiple regression analysis. The results indicate that technical and tactical characteristics have a major impact on the player's performance and are essential for table tennis success. Based on the value of the regression coefficients and their significance, it may be concluded that the 5 variables statistically significantly contribute to the regression model are: the efficiency of the serve; the efficiency of preventing the attack of the opponent and preparation of the players’ own attack; confidence when attacking across the table; the efficiency in the active defence and the efficiency of movement during the game. In the hierarchy of significance, the most important variables are the serve efficiency and efficiency of preventing the attack of an opponent and preparation of the player's own attack. The efficiency of the serve allows an attacker to realize technical and tactical ideas and usually gain initiative in the game. By returning a serve we can prevent or at least make it harder for the opponent to attack again. A serve return can also allow us to take the initiative

Abstract:
We give a unified treatment of statistical methods for assessing collapsibility in regression problems, including some possible extensions to the class of generalized linear models. Terminology is borrowed from the contingency table area where various methods for assessing collapsibility have been proposed. Our procedures, however, can be motivated by considering extensions, and alternative derivations, of common procedures for omitted-variable bias in linear regression. Exact tests and interval estimates with optimal properties are available for linear regression with normal errors, and asymptotic procedures follow for models with estimated weights. The methods given here can be used to compareβ1 and β2 in the common setting where the response function is first modeled asXβ1(reduced model) and then asXβ2+Zγ(full model), withZ a vector of covariates omitted from the reduced model. These procedures can be used in experimental settings (X= randomly asigned treatments,Z= covariates) or in nonexperimental settings where two models viewed as alternative behavioral or structural explanations are compared (one model withX only, another model withX andZ).

Abstract:
Objective: Abdominal circumference measurement is an important parameter for determining fetal growth. Fetal growth will be more accurately assessed if we use tables constructed on our own population. A table of fetal gestational age estimation by abdominal circumference in Bangladeshi population is prepared, so that a quick assessment of its growth can be made. Methods: This study was a prospective, cross-sectional study, conducted on well dated, singleton pregnancies. A table and a graph were prepared after fitting Polynomial regression models. Results: Nomogram for gestational age estimation by abdominal circumference was prepared. 1223 patients were included in the study. Percentiles, mean and standard deviations were derived from the raw data. Polynomial regression model was a good fit to the data. Standard deviations increased with gestational age. In the early second trimester Bangladeshi and western studies were similar but as pregnancy advanced there was variation between the two races. Conclusion: This chart can be useful for Bangladeshi population, by helping in assessment of fetal growth and gestational age by abdominal circumference, especially in the 3rd trimester. This is so, because abdominal circumference is very sensitive to fetal nutritional status. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.3329/bjog.v26i2.13781 Bangladesh J Obstet Gynaecol, 2011; Vol. 26(2) : 64-67

In the course of presenting data on the application of linear regression, the authors included in Figure 1 an equation representing the regression of wet‐bulk density on porosity in the form [Formula: see text], where [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] are wet‐bulk and grain densities, respectively, in [Formula: see text]. Based on the data of the selected samples shown in Figure 1, they have inferred a grain density of [Formula: see text], and a fluid density of [Formula: see text], not unreasonable values for a brine‐saturated calcareous sediment. However, it is incorrect to draw such inferences from this regression equation without the qualification that the independent variable, in this case porosity, is error free. Based on the porosity values shown in Table 1 (see my Table 1) those data are indeed subject to error.
