Abstract:
This thesis deals with the elaboration of construction project documentation of newly built car showroom with authorized service station and financial centre located in the city of Kroměříž. The building was designed as self-standing with one underground and two above ground floors and is conceptually divided into three tracts – car showroom itself, technical facilities and authorized service station. There are underground garages, storage of new cars and technical rooms situated in the basement. Showroom, sanitary facilities and operational premises, separate client services such as reception, new car selling desk, service station desk, spare parts selling desk or reception technician desk are situated on the ground floor. Also there are storage of spare parts, car wash with utility room and facilities for employees of service station. Service station itself and storage of tires are adjacent to these areas. First floor is only partial and includes financial department, offices and directorate. Construction system of this building is designed as reinforced concrete skeleton with cross-reinforced boards. The skeleton is partially blocked by porous concrete blocks 300 mm thick with thermal insulation of mineral wool 200 mm thick (main part) and 160 mm thick (service station, storage). Abstract:
The benefits of high strength concrete (HSC) in the construction of multi-storey buildings are commonly acknowledged. Past researchers have investigated the suitability of design codes for the use of HSC [1]. However, there are concerns about the shear behaviour of HSC beams and BCJ used in the construction of these buildings. HSC beams have equal or less shear resistance compared to normal strength concrete (NSC) beams [2], and the brittleness of HSC material could be unsuitable for BCJ as confinement stirrups may not be as effective as NSC in the column due to a smaller Poisson’s ratio. This research investigates the behaviour of HSC beams, BCJ and transfer beam column joints (TBCJ), and develop appropriate design modifications to improve their shear capacity. HSC beams were strengthened with horizontal web bars (HWB), while TBCJ were strengthened with central vertical bars (CVB). Finite element (FE) models were developed for these structures and the numerical results were compared with those of the published experimental results, concluding that good agreement had been achieved. Beam span/depth (a/d) ratio of 1.5≤a/d ≤3.02 and BCJ of beam to column depth ( db/dc ) ratio of 1.33 ≤ db/dc ≤3.1 were analysed. The FE models were compared with published test results and further ones were developed to carry out various parametric investigations. Struts and ties were mechanically modelled for beams with HWB and for TBCJ with CVB are used to recommend design equation modifications for the design of HSC beams with HWB and TBCJ with CVB. It was found that HWB and CVB are effective in beams and BCJ only with HSC as they have little influence when they were used with NSC. Using HWB in HSC beams and CVB in HSC TBCJ improved the shear capacity of these structures by 130% and 31% respectively. 1 - Regan, P. E., Kennedy -Reid I. L., Pullen, A. D., Smith, D. Abstract:
This master´s thesis deals with a draft of a health centre building in Chlumec nad Cidlinou. The centre is situated on a corner building site with barrier-free access near the city centre. The building is designed with simple functional lines ground on foundation strips with flat green roof. The perimeter walls, internal load-bearing and shear walls are from vertically perforated T&G block bricks. Internal non-load-bearing prefab walls are coated with plasterboard. Ceiling constructions and an attic are made of monolithic reinforced concrete. The building envelope is insulated with mineral wool. Most of the perimeter walls are coated with breathable facade made of lacquered galvanized lamellas and minor part of walls is compositely insulated and plastered with a scratched facade plaster. The health centre building is notionally divided into two masses with a three-storey west part and two-storey east part of the building. Both parts are mutually connected by vertical communication space with elevator looped by counter clockwise three-flight staircase. Ambulant health care will be provided in total 9 consulting rooms, 3 ambulant care offices and private clinic with 3 consulting rooms. Independent business of the commercial area and café provide the additional function. The master´s thesis also includes assessments in terms of fire risk, energy saving and heat protection, acoustics and vibrations, lighting and sunlight.

Abstract:
Master’s thesis deals with complete project documentation of newly built object of library and mediatheque located on the site in České Budějovice. It is a three-storey building divided into three parts, one-storey, two-storey and three-storey. It is partly basement. The underground part is devoted to main storage spaces of library services, management offices and social facilities for staff (toilets, changing rooms, washrooms). This part of the building has own entrance for employees. In the 1st floor is located the main library area along with exhibition spaces and the main entrance for visitors with self service cloakroom. In the 2nd floor are designed library spaces for visually impaired persons with fund of audio books, CDs and DVDs, a lecture hall with a projector and own kitchen and space for reading magazines and periodicals. From this floor is possible access to the outdoor terrace, which has own terrace furniture store nearby. In the 3rd floor is located a literary café with its own facilities. In each floor are also designed sanitary facilities for use by persons with limited ability of movement and orientation. All floors are connected by stairs and passenger lifts. In terms of construction, the building is designed as a frame, in the underground parts made of reinforced concrete, the overhead of glued laminated timber elements. The ceiling structure designed over the underground floor is monolithic reinforced concrete slab. The ceilings in the upper part are designed as a wooden beamed made of the glued laminated timber elements. The building has a pent roof created by wooden trusses assembled with punched metal plate fasteners. The foundations are designed as belts and footings. The study, detailed documentation, thermal-technical evaluation of selected structures and fire safety of the building are processed. Abstract:
The subject of the diploma thesis is to design a project study and a building program that would become a compromise between the requirements of the city of Brno and BUT in the area of Kraví hora in the Brno city center. The city of Brno would like to transform the area into a public park. But BUT considers it as its "family silver" because they realize its extraordinary value. Options of a constructions are really limited because of many area regulations. My proposal counts on the demolition of all existing buildings in the area, respects property area relations , protection zone, continuity with existing traffic roads, height regulation, imaginary raster of surrounding buildings, slope of terrain and orientation to the cardinal points. My suggest represents a study of five groups of objects which creating a rectangular raster. As a compromise solution, I chose the presentation and promotional areas of the individual faculties of BUT for the content of the buildings. Faculties have spaces for hobby groups for the public comprise all age groups included. I also designed the BUT Museum of History, a multimedia hall, a cafeteria, studios, a student leisure center and an observation tower with a climbing wall.

Abstract:
The subject of the diploma thesis is an architectural study of the forecourt of the Dukovany Nuclear Power Station. The project is based on a pre-diploma project which aimed to develop an urban concept. At the moment the buildings in the area are in an unsuitable condition from a construction - technical and architectural perspective. The urban-architectural study was intended to create a new concept for the forecourt and simultaneously enable its efficient operation in case of the completion of a new nuclear unit. The concept of the solution is based on the removal of outdated buildings and their replacement with new buildings which will meet the current requirements of the Dukovany Nuclear Power Station. From the current layout the main roads, the gatehouse, the information center and the greenery will be preserved. After removing the selected buildings, the renovation area will be divided into the main axes on which the main road network will be designed. The unsuitable connection to public road infrastructure will be solved by minimizing the entrances to the area to two entrances and by moving the suburban bus station from the main road. After connecting the whole area by roads, the area will be divided into functional areas. In front of the gatehouse there will be a square surrounded by public services, an administrative building and by the preserved information center building. From this space, the main representative space of the entire complex will be created. Warehouses and workshops will be located behind the square. Transport areas will be located at the rear of the complex. Thanks to this location, there will be a good connection with the current factory and also with the planned completion of the new nuclear unit on the west of the area. There will also be educational and sport facilities in the complex. The kindergarten will be oriented towards the preserved greenery.
