In this article the author analyzes the most common means of forming the semantics of nominations for perfumery and scents based on a conceptual metaphor. It should be noted that the stylistic coloring of nominations can be different: from neutral to colloquial (slang). Particular attention is paid to nominations related to the representation of the concept “Alcohol” in perfumery. Lexical units of the English and French languages were used in this analysis.
