To survive, an organism must constantly adjust its internal state to changes in the environment from which it receives signals. The signals set off a chain of events referred to signal transduction. Signal transduction systems are especially important in multicellular organisms, such as plants and animals, because of the need to coordinate the activities of hundreds to trillions of cells. Plants, in particular, have a special need for perceiving signals from their environment because of their static nature. However, despite its crucial role in fine-tuning the WNT pathway and its role as a tumour suppressor, it is unclear whether RNF43 has further binding partners and what their functional relevance is to the modulation of WNT

Using high fat diet to induce the diabete-like phenotype, the STZ treated and the control rat were examined for the blood sugar level and regrouped for proteomic analysis. By employing our developed affinity chromatography, the total proteome as well as the phosphoproteome and glycoproteome from the rat plasma samples were purified and examined. Briefly, albumin, vi

Several factors have been implicated in the development of gastric cancer, including chromosomal instability, genetic and epigenetic alterations, Helicobacter pylori infection, and environmental factors such as diet and smoking. Among them, the aberrant methylation of CpG dinucleotides has been reported during tumorigenesis in gastric cancer. In this study, we used CpG island microarray and differential methylation hybridization (

One characteristic for HBV-related HCC is the male gender preference. Our previous studies identified a possible mechanism underlying the male gender preference, showing that HBx viral protein can up-regulate the transcriptional activity of androgen receptor (AR) in an androgen concentration dependent manner. However, how does HBx enhances the AR activity still remained un-clarified. According to the findings in prostate cancers that the transcrip
