Neste artigo, o autor propõe uma refutação sumária do relativismo alético, para além do tradicional argumento da “autocontradição”. Através de um estudo analítico de diferentes proposições de natureza relativista, Searle sustenta que uma exposição consistente do relativismo conduz, inevitavelmente, ou a um regresso ao infinito vicioso, ou a uma forma de solipsismo porque o relativismo alético implica, por conta do desaspeamento, o relativismo ontológico. We propose a critical presentation of the text, by articulating a historical approach to a conceptual one.
