Abstract. The aim of this paper is to analyze to which extent wind tunnel experiments can represent the behavior of full-scale wind turbine wakes. The question is relevant because on the one hand scaled models are extensively used for wake and farm control studies, whereas on the other hand not all wake-relevant physical characteristics of a full-scale turbine can be exactly matched by a scaled model. In particular, a detailed scaling analysis reveals that the scaled model accurately represents the principal physical phenomena taking place in the outer shell of the near wake, whereas differenc

Abstract:
Digital learning platforms are beginning to become open to research. Specifically, in our work in SEERNet, developers are extending five platforms, each used in either K-12 or higher education by more than 100,000 users, to enable third-party researchers to explore, develop, and test improvements. SEERNet seeks to enable equity-relevant research aligned with the IES Standards for Excellence in Education Research (SEER) principles. It also seeks to support research that is more agile (or rapid), is more open, and scales from research to impacts on practice. We review the emerging tensions among

Abstract:
This document describes a simple methodology for verifying the predicted annual yield of large-scale solar systems. This method was developed by Fraunhofer ISE and Solar Experience GmbH as part of the ProSolNetz project (FKZ: 03EN603F) (Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz [BMWK.IIB5] & Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH [PT-J.ESN6], 2025) and is described in ISO/DIS 24194. This report is divided into an overview of currently available methods for field characterization, which are relevant in the context of method development. It shows the global objectives that were at the forefron

Abstract:
The US Navy has a need to rapidly construct concrete facilities onshore to support contingency operations. Mixing water for concrete is typically specified to be freshwater; however, in many scenarios there are limited amounts of freshwater available for construction. Thus, use of readily available saltwater would be advantageous. This project’s objective was to evaluate the suitability of saltwater as a replacement for freshwater for producing concrete airfield pavement under relevant operational scenarios. Three full-scale test sections were constructed, and performance was evaluated in the
