It has been estimated that two-thirds of the world population have thyroid nodules,1 and their incidence increases with age.2 While most are benign,1 the incidence of thyroid cancer has increased substantially worldwide over the last four decades.3 Therefore, there is a need for reliable methods of thyroid nodule evaluation. Fine-needle biopsy with cytologic evaluation remains the standard diagnostic test to distinguish benign from malignant thyroid nodules but has a number of limitations, including its inability to identify aggressive tumors.4<

Abstract:
Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) based Fire Field Modelling (FFM) codes offer powerful tools for fire safety engineers but their operation requires a high level of skill and an understanding of the mode of operation and limitations, in order to obtain meaningful results in complex scenarios. This problem is compounded by the fact that many FFM cases are barely stable and poor quality set-up can lead to solution failure. There are considerable dangers of misuse of FFM techniques if they are used without adequate knowledge of both the underlying fire science and the associated numerical modell

Using the Tobit model, an average household’s averting expenditures are estimated to be 3.13 YTL/month. Persons with aphasia (PWA) have language difficulties and their Quality of Life (QoL) has most likely been affected. Because of their loss of language abilities, it is difficult to use PWA in QoL studies. This can lead to the use of proxy responses (a person who answers for the PWA). The aim of this study was to compare the rankings from QoL questionnaires for PWA with the rankings from their spouses/caregivers (i.e., proxyresponse). We also wanted to find out which of the 11 aspects of life PWA andspouses/caregivers ranked as the most respectively the least impacted ones. A totalnumber of 57

Abstract:
Renaissance antiquarianism can be defined as a cultural phenomenon that aims to interpret the past by cross-referencing heterogeneous sources accumulated and collected over time. This entailed the use of new investigative techniques which involved combining literary sources and material findings to provide a reliable foundation for the idea of history. The purpose of this Atlas of Renaissance Antiquarianism is to demonstrate how the antiquarian approach represented a methodological perspective capable to influence the way the past was viewed through a critical analysis of sources.
