It has been estimated that two-thirds of the world population have thyroid nodules,1 and their incidence increases with age.2 While most are benign,1 the incidence of thyroid cancer has increased substantially worldwide over the last four decades.3 Therefore, there is a need for reliable methods of thyroid nodule evaluation. This paper describes the design and operation of a reliable and accessible point-of-use water denitrification system. The system includes a U-shaped submersible denitrifying biofilter and a bubble-film extractor. The biofilter utilizes the combined actions of denitrifying, sulfate-reducing, and sulfur bacteria. Denitrifying bacteria convert nitrates into nitrogen gas and reduce the calcium hardness of water in proportion to the nitrate concentration. When the water is contaminated with both nitrates and sulfates and the bacterial community receives excess nutrients (ethanol), some sulfates are

We use consistency indices to assess the overall reliability of the stemma and the level of support that individual variants give to the stemma. One obstacle is that comprehensive data on local politics is often extremely difficult to obtain; as a result, data is unavailable or costly, hard to replicate, and rarely updated. We construct a homotopy equation consisting on two auxiliary parameters for solving nonlinear differential equations, which switch nonlinear terms with He’s polynomials. The existence of two auxiliary parameters in the homotopy equation allows us to guarantee the convergence of the obtained series. Compared with numerical techniques, the method solves nonlinear problems without any discretization and is capable to reduce computational work.
