Abstract:

Abstract:
On May 15, 1930, in the small border town of Naco, Sonora, census enumerator Miguel Robles started to count. When he finished walking his assigned portions of Calle Hidalgo, Avenida Independencia, and Calle Morelos, he had enumerated 143 individuals, each of whom answered the single question regarding religious identity the same way: Catholic. A block over, a carpenter named Ignacio Ledgard left his tools for the day to canvas his own neighborhood, counting 252 individuals, including his own family. They also all identified as Catholic, except for two Chinese men with no religion.

Abstract:
The Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) is one of the work units of the Ministry of Religion which is tasked with fostering and providing services to the community at the sub-district level. The Pasar Minggu Subdistrict Religious Affairs Office as the government agency coordinates activities and carries out internal and cross-internal activities in the sub-district area. To that end, the Office of Religious Affairs carries out documentation of marriage statistics, builds mosques in its territory, monitors zakat, waqf, baitul maal and other social services, monitors population and develops sakinah family programs. In carrying out the registration of marriage, the KUA of Pasar Minggu Subdistrict still has shortcomings in the system for recording marriages that are carried out. The drawbacks include the manual marriage registration process, making it less effective and inefficient. The manual recording is still making marriage reports which are still recorded in the ledger, so if you want to find data, the staff will manually look for the report data. Seeing this obstacle, the authors have the idea to create a system that can process data easier and simple in use so as to save time and streamline the work of KUA staff. In this study, the authors used several stages of work, starting from the process of analysis, planning, design using the PHP programming language and MySQL database, to the implementation stage with an object-oriented approach using UML (Unified Modeling Language). The results obtained from a system that the author created can help KUA staff in inventorying marriage data, helping them also in making systemized marriage reports and in finding registrants and marriage reports to be given to the Head of the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA).

Abstract:
Abstract This article examines and compares three grids that were designed to serve explicit moral accounting goals: the calculation and improvement of character. The examples are tables which fall under a broad definition of diagrams. The examples follow another in time, but it is not the article’s intention to suggest a historical lineage between them. Rather, it is the intention to clarify the interplay between grids and the precepts or keys to their use. The first case is the so-called ledger of merit and demerit that was propagated by Yuan Huang, a scholar and bureaucrat of the late Ming-period, who recommended its use for moral improvement in four letters to his son, of which the most famous letter was on the improvement of one’s own fate. The second is Benjamin Franklin’s Art of Virtue, which Franklin in his autobiographical letter to his son equally described as a tool of moral improvement. The third is the so-called moral thermometer, or biometer, a tool developed by the French revolutionary and pedagogical innovator Marc-Antoine Jullien, who described this tool as a moral mirror and compass that would be especially of use in preparing and educating adolescents for their adult lives. All three represent generic methods of producing knowledge about an individual’s (moral) character, knowledge on which the users of these tables could act. Their differences have to do with the perceived relation of moral conduct to other spheres of life, religious, social, and economic, or all of these combined, but also with the different precepts to their use.

Abstract:
Abstract. Terrorism itself began to become one of the global issues that was quite important and often became the focus of the international community. The terrorism ideology had spread out in all country in the world. In 2016, Indonesian society was shocked by women who would be candidate of suicide bomber attack. One of them named Dian Yulia Novi, the first woman involved in a terrorist act and ready to become a suicide bomber to attack the State Palace of Indonesia by carrying a pot bomb with a high enough explosive power. This study uses descriptive qualitative research method while the type of research uses a case study. Now, Dian is undergoing her sentences in Correctional for Women Class IIA Bandung. Dian’s suicide bombing case is rare and need special treatment to decrease her radicalism ideology. The development from the treatments program that has been obtained is she not trying to spread his views on radicalism, and she willing to associate with prisoners of other cases even though with a limited people.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Efficacy functions to enhance the desire of learning through mediations of motivations and confidence. The present study is designed to achieve two main objectives. First, to identify the level of learning efficacy of public and religious secondary school students. Second, to examine the significant difference level of learning efficacy between public and religious school students. This study involved 242 students sampled from four schools in district Ledang. The sampled participated in the survey, employing a twelfth item questionnaire measuring Learning Self-efficacy (LSE) and Peer Self-efficacy (PSE). The data are analysed quantitatively using descriptive statistics and independent-samples t-tests. The result showed that the majority of students experience a moderate level of learning efficacy. Generally, for the selected public school students the mean is 2.75 and religious school students the mean is 2.97. Regarding the comparison level of learning efficacy between the two types of students, the findings of the current study show that there is no significant differences (p=.47), while peers self-efficacy revealed that there are significant differences (p=0.001).

Abstract:
Invaluable Contribution to the Treasury of Translation Science Reviewed by Tatiana Andrienko This year, 2020, has been marked by an outstanding event, long awaited by scholarly, linguistic and literary community: Volume 1 of Translation Encyclopedia edited by Oleksandr Kalnychenko and Leonid Chernovaty was published in Ukrainian by Nova Knyha Publishers, Vinnytsia, Ukraine. The book has seen light thanks to the leadership of the Ukrainian Translator Trainers’ Union (UTTU) headed by Dr. Leonid Chernovaty, as well as talents and efforts of a highly qualified team of translators and translation professors from major universities of Ukraine. It comprises a translation of The Handbook of Translation Studies (edited by Yves Gambier, Luc van Doorslaer, John Benjamins Publishing Company, 2010). By the depth of insights into problems, the variety of addressed topics, clarity and persuasiveness of argumentation, openness to innovation, as well as historical and geographical frameworks the reviewed book is definite to find its place among the major humanitarian publications, considerably broadening the horizons of Ukrainian scholars, students, and thinkers. The collection presents a wide range of articles summarizing the newest concepts and trends of Translation Studies, such as adaptation, self-translation, censorship, community and conference interpreting, technical translation, terminology and translation, multilingualism and translation, etc. Through the authors’ perspectives, the reader may follow the dynamics of changes in the content of translation science and its various approaches (descriptive, applied, interpretive, cognitive, functional) and its major concepts (such as translation quality, relevance, norms, units, strategies and tactics). Of great interest to the audience will be the scope of interdisciplinary fields, such as history of translation, translation didactics, ethics of translation, as well as articles unveiling the links of translation studies with semantics, semiotics, philosophy, hermeneutics, journalism, gender factors, ethics, sociology, ethnography and art. The Encyclopedia also embraces such fields of literary translation as postcolonial literature, censorship, children's literature, translating plays, humor and comics; it outlines the problems of industry-specific (political, technical, commercial, scientific, religious, legal translation, media interpreting) and even sign language translation. Much attention is devoted to practical applications of the latest translation research, as well as new technologies in translation, research and teaching translation methodologies, as well as the role of translation in foreign language teaching. The concepts and ideas in the book are presented by the outstanding translation theorists, many of whom are the authors and conceivers of new theories of translation and their major research fields: Fabio Alves & Amparo Hurtado Albir, Jorge Díaz Cintas, Riitta Jääskeläinen, Marianne Lederer, Jeremy Munday, Christiane Nord, Franz Pöchhacke, Christina Schäffner and others. A valuable feature of the ideas covered in the Encyclopedia is their openness to plurality of scholarly opinions, continuous dialogue over the major problems of translation theory and practice, which involves the reader into discussion and inspires the further search for solutions. The translation of the original theoretical insights into Ukrainian by seasoned scholars, professional translators and translation teachers will, first and foremost, open them to a broader audience, making their content more accessible and perceivable to the readers. But what is more important, it develops the conceptual network of translatology, enriching the Ukrainian terminology, and expanding the borders of the Ukrainian language scientific style. Besides being an invaluable source of theoretical knowledge, the book is also an exemplary application of theory into practice, a guide to the state-of-art choice of translation strategies, tactics and decisions, a model scientific translation to be emulated by practicing and aspiring translators. The 1st volume of Translation Encyclopedia, edited by Oleksandr Kalnychenko and Leonid Chernovaty will definitely find equally high acclaim of professors and students, theorists and practitioners, seasoned and aspiring scholars of translation and relevant fields. Welcoming the new pioneering publication, we strongly believe that it will initiate a tradition of publishing translated scholarly works in Ukraine, and look forward to the appearance of new volumes.
