Métodos que permitem prever o aparecimento desse quadro e possibilitem condutas terapêuticas que minimizem e retardem a perda de função renal são altamente desejáveis. AbstractWe propose a new machine learning formulation designed specifically for extrapolation. The textbook way to apply machine learning to drug design is to learn a univariate function that when a drug (structure) is input, the function outputs a real number (the activity): F(drug) → activity. The PubMed server lists around twenty thousand papers doing this. However, experience in real-world drug design suggests that this formulation of the drug design problem is not quite correct. Specifically, what one is really interested in is extrapolation: predicting the activity of new drugs with high

Renovascular hypertension is a common cause of secondary hypertension, most frequently triggered by atherosclerotic changes in the renal arteries. However, during the diagnostic process, it is essential to consider other potential causes such as vasculitis, external compression, or direct arterial occlusion. Multislice computed tomography (MSCT) with contrast plays a key role in visualizing the renal arteries and evaluating the renal parenchyma. Introduction: Renal factors are known as important, and a controllable factor, to define prognosis, mortality and hospitalization time in most of diseases. It still lacks studies that clarify in a specific way the role of this factors. Objectives: This study aims to elucidate the impact of renal factor in outcomes of stroke patients (hospitalization time, CTI time, delirium, infection and death during internment). Methods: We performed a transversal study, part of a cohort. Data of previous renal insufficiency, admission, highest and last creatinine and urea and the highest creatinine clearance d

Abstract Reservoir production forecasts are inherently uncertain due to the lack of quality data available to build predictive reservoir models. Multiple data types, including historical production, well tests (RFT/PLT), and time-lapse seismic data, are assimilated into reservoir models during the history matching process to improve predictability of the model. Traditionally, a ‘best estimate’ for relative permeability data is assumed during the history matching process, despite there being significant uncertainty in the relative permeability. Relative permeability governs multiphase flow in t

Abstract Pipeline transportation is a crucial method for transporting oil and gas, and with the growing energy demand, the scale of oil and gas pipelines is expanding rapidly. Most of the oil and gas pipelines are joined together by welding. Weld defects often lead to significant safety accidents, making it essential to test the quality of the welds. Radiographic Testing (RT) is a widely used Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) technology. The manual inspection of weld negatives obtained by X-ray inspection is a common method for detecting weld defects, but it involves a heavy judgment workload, mak

Paraneoplastic syndromes (PS) are entities whose symptoms are not directly attributed to primary or metastatic tumors. They are usually triggered by immunological mechanisms in response to tumor antigens or by hormonal factors. Their appearance may precede, be synchronous, or follow the diagnosis of a neoplasm. Breast cancer can also manifest itself through such syndromes. Dermatomyositis (DM), a rare disease, is an inflammatory myopathy that presents with progressive, symmetrical, proximal muscle weakness, and characteristic cutaneous findings. Discovery of novel biomarkers in lupus nephritis Biomarkers are needed for making diagnosis and prognosis. In lupus nephritis, conventional tests like urinalysis or serum creatinine remain inadequate for patient care. In this proposal, we focused on non-invasive tools like blood and urine mRNAs or proteins. We chose candidate genes involving regulatory T-cell, B-lymphocyte signatures or vascular protective factors. Expression of regulatory cell signature (FOXP3) in peripheral blood mononuclear cells is associated with activity of lupus nephritis. We found FOXP3 mRNA levels in PBMCs from patien
