The purpose of this study was to investigate the sonographic appearance of the normal adult kidney. Parenchymal echogenicity, pyramid visibility, and transverse pelvis diameter of the kidneys were prospectively determined in an age- and sex-stratified random sample of 665 volunteers 30, 40, 50, 60, and 70 years old. Furthermore, incidences of kidney stones and split sinus echo were determined. The relation between obesity and above-mentioned parameters was evaluated. In the 30-year-old age group the right kidney was isoechoic as compared to the liver in 1/3, and had clearly or faintly visible

Wegener's granulomatosis, a rare disease, remains poorly understood. Its pathogenesis involves suspected immune, infectious, and environmental factors, but no definitive relationships have been established. Diagnosis is often delayed and relies on clinical, biological, and histological findings, necessitating an association with an ENT (ear, nose, and throat), pulmonary, and renal triad. ENT symptoms, particularly naso-sinus issues, are the most prominent indicators of the disease. To support the diagnosis, biological and immunological tests are essential. Automated segmentation of renal tumors is essential for the diagnostic evaluation of kidney cancer. However, renal tumor volume is generally small compared with the volume of the kidney and is irregularly distributed; moreover, the location and shape of renal tumors are highly variable, making the segmentation task extremely challenging. To solve the aforementioned problems, a cascaded segmentation model (FYU-Net) for computed tomography (CT) images is proposed in this paper to achieve automatic kidney tumor segmentation. In the 1970s and early 1980s—an era of high inflation, financial reversal, unprecedented state intervention, and explicit emulation of continental European institutions—pyramidal groups abruptly regained prominence. Fractals have been used successfully to describe complex, irregular natural forms such as clouds, coastlines, trees, and mountains, which are difficult to characterize in terms of continuous, differentiable functions.1 One of the most important properties of fractals is their self-similarity. As the spatial scale of viewing changes over many orders of magnitude, the fractal remains similar in structure and appearance. The Burt pyramid2 decomposes an image into a sum of octave width spatial frequency bands plus a low-pass filtered component. Local spatial information is also preserved. If an in

This paper presents a Refinement Pyramid Transformer (RePFormer) for robust facial landmark detection. Most facial landmark detectors focus on learning representative image features. However, these CNN-based feature representations are not robust enough to handle complex real-world scenarios due to ignoring the internal structure of landmarks, as well as the relations between landmarks and context. In this work, we formulate the facial landmark detection task as refining landmark queries along pyramid memories. Specifically, a pyramid transformer head (PTH) is introduced to build both homologo
